Hardest thing to do but it’s the right thing will come as a shock to most people
Sadly I need to cut down my responsibilities, I have owned him 5 years and he’s been the best most rewarding boy.
He’s safe as they come, with that I don’t mean a complete plod he will go when asked but he will hack past any traffic anywhere through fire if You asked him, he has been the lead horse for many horses over the time.
He has been shared the last 3 years by a competent novice who has done more and more sole care over time which has worked well we hack together and I've got a great friend, this means I haven’t ridden him for a while myself I find him a little boring in the nicest way and my sharer job has changed so now she no longer has time this is how I've come to this decision.
Over the time I've had him I've done beach rides shown him locally forest rides hound exercise. He would do a prelim test tomorrow , he’s popped a log every now and then
He is golden to clip not even tied up inc head ears good to shoe and box and travel super to catch , bath you name it he is good.
He’s lovely looking with a leg in each corner .
Hes prob got 5/8 years more riding before requiring a slow life being realistic and for that reason I owe it to him to let someone have those best years and be able to offer him a retirement ( I already have one 34 year old horse ) and can’t offer that to him in years to come.
Dickie does get itchy legs and thrush if on wet ground and is best left clipped and treated this does make him high maintenance
The home will be very much the most important thing: you will be asked a series of questions before I even consider you with references required.
He also isn’t a cheap horse either.
Multiple viewings offered over September so would suit someone locally who can come back several times so I can see you fit.
