Introducing Otto, a beautifully built Irish Sport Horse gelding by the renowned Cornet Obolensky, with Cruising on his dam’s side.

For the past four years, Otto has been a much-loved family horse, predominantly competing in working hunter classes, where he has excelled. His achievements include being crowned Working Hunter Champion at the Royal Welsh Show in 2025.

Schooling and jumping

Otto moves beautifully on the flat, is light in the mouth and works with automatic changes. He is a substantial, well-built horse, yet remains mannerly and rideable. His owner is a petite lady, and he is regularly ridden here by petite riders around 5ft tall. He has also been ridden on the flat by a teenage girl.

With his current owner, he has competed in British Showjumping up to Discovery (1m), as working hunter has been her main focus. In his previous home, he competed up to Newcomers (1.10m).

At home and during arena hire with us, Otto has shown himself to be bold, brave and careful, schooling around tracks of approximately 1.30m. We believe he has the scope and ability to progress further, with plenty still to offer. We plan to take him to shows and develop his competition record while he is with us; his price will reflect this as he progresses.

Hacking and everyday life

Away from the competition ring, Otto enjoys the simple things. He loves the beach and going into the water, and happily hacks alone or in company, at the front or behind. He has been comfortable around cars, heavy machinery and in open fields.

Temperament and handling

Otto is an affectionate horse who loves attention, cuddles and a good groom. He is a gentleman to handle and is good to:

* Catch and turn out.

* Tack up and untack.

* Clip and have his feet done.

* Load and travel, alone or in company.

He is up to date with vaccinations, dentistry and farrier care.
