A quality young horse with all the attributes to excel in either show jumping or eventing.

This striking 5-year-old bay gelding stands at 16.2hh and is beautifully bred, being by the exciting jumper KMS Rooney out of a Zandor Z mare. Pedigree includes Clinton, Caretino and Thunder van de zuuthoeve. Purchased directly from his local breeder as a 2-year-old, he has been professionally and carefully produced with his long-term future firmly in mind. Backed as a 4-year-old and then turned away while other competition horses took priority, he has been allowed the time to grow, strengthen and mature correctly. As a result, he is relatively low mileage for his age, but is now ready to crack on with his competitive career.

A beautiful model with correct conformation, clean limbs and an athletic frame, he combines quality with ability. He moves well with three correct, balanced paces and is well established in the contact, remaining snaffle-mouthed at all times. His quality movement and rideability make him equally suited to an eventing career as well as show jumping.

He is showing serious talent over fences, proving to be brave, careful and naturally scopey, with all the ingredients to progress through the levels in the right hands. He has been out to arena hires and out xc schooling, however due to both riders having demanding full-time professional careers, he has not yet been given the competition mileage that his ability deserves.

He has just been to his first show where he jumped super around the 85cm, giving the fences a lot of air!

He is a lovely horse to have around the yard, good to load and travel in our horsebox, good with the farrier, mannerly on the ground. He has never been lame, sick or sorry. Lives in or out happily.

As expected of a young horse, he is still green and is looking for a confident, competent rider to continue his education and unlock his obvious potential. He can be sharp and spooky at times, as is not uncommon with young horses, so he is best suited to a capable rider who can ride positively and give him the confidence and consistency he needs. This is reflected in his price.

He is not suited to a novice rider, mother-and-daughter share, teenager coming off ponies or as a first horse. He is, however, a serious prospect with the talent, quality and potential to become a valuable addition to the string of a professional or ambitious semi-professional show jumper or eventer.

We genuinely believe he has all the ability to make a top-class sport horse in the right hands. He is good enough to be a valuable addition to a professional's string and, once he gains the competition record his talent deserves, his value will no doubt double.

Carefully and consistently produced, Sunny is now established at Foxhunter/1.20m level, regularly jumping double clears and placing.

Recent results include 1st Newcomers at Morris Equestrian, 2nd Foxhunter at Morris Equestrian, 2nd & 3rd Newcomers at Stainsby Grange and 4th Foxhunter at Stainsby Grange, alongside multiple Newcomers and Foxhunter double clears. He has also competed in a 1.25m Newcomers Second Round.

As a 4-year-old, Sunny had a fantastic show at Aintree, jumping three clear rounds including a clear round in the 4-Year-Old Final.

Sunny is brave, careful and naturally athletic, with an excellent technique over a fence and plenty of scope. He is a kind, uncomplicated horse with a lovely temperament, straightforward to ride and always wanting to please.
