5yo gelding, approx. 16hh by Usher Van Overis Z (by Untouchable out of an Ahorn mare).
Low mileage, as he was backed at 4 and turned away to mature. He’s got really decent bone and is starting to fill out now. He’s only just beginning his proper education in the last couple of weeks but is coming on leaps and bounds and will be straightforward to produce further.
I can’t overstate what a darling Chester is. He could be a once-in-a-lifetime horse for so many people. He’s got on with every horse and person he’s ever met, and I’ve never seen him put an ear back. He has the friendliest, most loving temperament.
Chester has a lovely attitude to work. He’s incredibly willing, trainable, and a remarkably quick learner. He stands to be mounted, is naturally forward going and has all the basics with no bad habits. I can see him making a fantastic all-rounder, riding club horse, or dressage prospect. He happily hacks alone and in company and is never nappy or silly. He needs to build more confidence through experience and needs some reassurance when hacking alone, but he always tries his absolute best, even when unsure.
A gentleman on the ground. He’s good to tie up, catch, bath, and trim for the farrier, is happy being in or out, and has no vices. The farrier always comments how solid his feet are and he's currently barefoot. Good to load but a little nervous when travelling (just a bit sweaty and shaky), but he’s always willing and I have no doubt this will improve with practice.
Sound and open to any vetting, including X-rays. He’s been exceptionally well looked after and loved, and is up to date with vaccinations, farrier, worm counts, and will have his teeth done before he leaves.
He’s advertised for a fraction of his worth as he does have a minor medical history that requires no ongoing management, which I’m happy to discuss with serious buyers. He’s also got some small lumps on his underside (nowhere near girth area.) I’m not sure if they’re bites as they seem to be where his fly rug doesn’t cover him, but wanted to disclose.
This is a reluctant sale with tears writing this ad. Absolutely no fault of his own as while he was turned away, I bonded with another horse, and I don’t have time to keep 2 in work with a young family, but he will be so missed.
No dealers and no novices or nervous riders as he’s very green.
£6,500 but as his education continues over the coming weeks/months his price will increase.
