Very sad sale of Clover. Unfortunately, dressage really isn’t the job for him, and I want to find him a home where he can truly thrive.
Clover is the kindest, easiest boy to have around. A complete Labrador on the ground, he is handled by children daily and stands patiently to be bathed, shod, plaited, loaded and fussed over. He has the most loving temperament and is a genuine pleasure to own.
A consistent and competitive 1m horse, Clover is always in the placings and has qualified for the Sunshine Tour 2025 & 2026, as well as the Elms Lodge Championships in both Arena Eventing and Hunter Trials. He also finished 3rd in the 1m League at Pycombe.
He has done a bit of everything — beach rides, cross-country, showjumping and stay-aways — and takes it all in his stride. He stands happily on the lorry all day alone, loads first time every time, and hacks alone or in company, happily in front or behind, with no napping whatsoever.
Clover is currently ridden bitless, as this is very much his preference. He works beautifully off the voice and has always been incredibly genuine with his brakes. I have ridden him in a bit previously, but he is far happier and performs much better bitless.
His only vice is that he dislikes being clipped, however with sedation he has been clipped successfully.
Clover is a quality competition horse, so please no novices. He can occasionally give a small buck when excited, but nothing nasty or malicious.
He does have some medical history, which will be fully disclosed and discussed honestly with any potential buyer.
A five-figure budget is required for this very special boy, and finding the very best home is the absolute priority.
