- A tranquil Devon Home
- Looking for a genuine schoolmaster
Perhaps your circumstances have changed, and the hardest decision you've ever had to make is finding the right home for a horse you've loved and love, cherished and competed for many years.
If that's you, I'd love to hear from you.
I'm a very fit, active 60-year-old lady looking for a genuine schoolmaster – the sort that has been there, done it, and is happy to enjoy a quieter, much-loved life while still teaching someone every day.
I'm not necessarily looking for a competition horse. In fact, if you'd rather your horse didn't compete anymore, I'd be more than happy to promise them a life of hacking, clinics, regular lessons, regular and gentle schooling and plenty of love and attention. My ambition is simply to ride beautifully, continue learning and enjoy every moment together.
I ride quietly and sympathetically. I'm not a nervous rider, but equally I'm not looking for anything sharp, quirky or unpredictable. Sadly, I don't bounce quite as well as I used to, so no bucking, rearing, spinning or temperamental characters, thank you! Just an honest, kind horse who would enjoy a wonderful second chapter.
In return, I can offer what I like to think of as a six-star country hotel!
• Beautiful quiet private family yard at home.
• Spacious 24ft x 12ft stable in a tranquil yard rubber matting and all the trimmings
• Lovely arena for schooling.
• Safe turnout with a combination of post-and-rail fencing and electric fencing.
• A friendly little pony companion.
• My own small lorry for days out, lessons and clinics.
• Access to excellent trainers, regular lessons and clinics, a trusted farrier and veterinary care.
• I work from home, so I'm able to dip in and out of the yard throughout the day, meaning my horses are never out of sight or out of mind.
• Most importantly, a lifetime of exceptional care, kindness and love.
I know horses of this calibre are rarely inexpensive. Whilst I'm not shopping with an open cheque book, I can offer financial stability, exceptional care and a genuine lifelong home. I'm open to discussing a sensible sale or loan arrangement if it means finding the perfect match for both horse and owner.
For me, this isn't simply about buying a horse—it's about continuing the story of one who's been someone's best friend.
If your greatest wish is to see your horse loved rather than simply sold, I'd love to hear from you.
I completely understand how emotional this decision can be. I'm more than happy to stay in touch, send regular photos and videos, and welcome visits so you can see your horse happy and thriving. I can also send you a video of me riding, so you know exactly the type of rider and home I'm offering.
If you think we might be the right match, I'd be delighted to have a chat.
