BALOU BEAR - just the best looking and nice nature'ed cob (possible a bias owner here!)

This lovely cob has so much quality and potential to shine in a range of homes/ disclipnes.

This is a very sad sale of Balou who was bought un-backed and riding well under saddle, is probably going to be more sporty that what is required, so the best possible home is sought for him as he is much loved.

Balou was backed around February of this year, spent a few weeks long reining and seeing the world, and soon took to hacking nicely. He has quietly ticked along gaining confidence and experience over the summer months and more recently had a super month with stunt rider Jake Cox. He proved a little reactive under inital assessment with Jake but soon grew in confidence and experience as the weeks progressed (including using a lance and leaning down to start and rev a quadbike! from ).

He hacks both along and in company, has been good with traffic and canters in open spaces with other horses. He has loose jumped twice and popped a few small fences proving brave and willing.

He is still learning the ropes so requires a competent, experienced rider. He is sold from the field due Balou proving too athletic and enthusiastic than I am ready to bring on, a lack of facilities and life circumstances.

He has a super character, is nice to have around, has been clipped, shod and bathed all without fuss, and lives easily in or out. True to type he is hardy, resiliant and low maintenance.

Balou has lots to give, and with lots of positive confident experiences he should go on to excel in may spheres - showing, hunting, grassroots all-rounder.

A good home is paramount, one that is willing to keep in touch. It would be lovely to see him flourish.

Dennis needs no introduction – he’s the definition of a genuine family cob. A true all rounder with a heart of gold, he’s the sort that’s becoming increasingly difficult to find. Whether you’re looking for a safe hacking partner for Grandma, a reliable ride and lead horse for Mum, or a fun pony for the children to enjoy PC activities, Dennis really can do it all.

Dennis is the kindest little gentleman with impeccable manners. He has the sweetest nature, is respectful of your space, and is certainly not your typical pushy cob. He absolutely adores people and thrives on attention. He’s equally friendly with dogs, sheep, and other horses, making him a pleasure to have around the yard.

He is exceptionally trustworthy with children. He’s the sort you would happily send a child to the field to catch, bring in, groom, tack up, and prepare independently. His kind temperament would make him an ideal riding school horse, or RDA candidate.

Under saddle, Dennis is as genuine as they come. He stands perfectly to mount, whether from a mounting block at home or a gate while out hacking. He’s even brilliant at opening gates!

In the school, he’s easy and willing with lovely, balanced transitions. With a little further schooling, he would make a super smart dressage cob. He happily pops a small course of fences and is honest and straightforward to a jump.

Dennis hacks confidently alone or in company, is excellent in open spaces, and is equally happy leading the way or following behind. He absolutely loves exploring the forest, happily spending hours out hacking, popping logs, and even splashing and swimming through the river. I’m sure he would love a little bit of hunting!

If you’re feeling adventurous, Dennis even knows a few cowboy tricks, you can canter him backwards… (and yes, we have the videos to prove it!).

It is an absolute privilege to own such a genuine, kind hearted cob, and I know he’ll bring endless joy and confidence to his next family.

Dennis loads and travels beautifully, and, as you’d expect, he is vice free and blemish free.

🌸 Beautiful Peggy – 5★ Home Wanted 🌸

My beautiful Peggy is looking for a new home through absolutely no fault of her own. This is a very difficult sale, so I am looking for a truly special, 5★ home for her.

Peggy has been a broodmare three times and bred 3 beautiful foals of one I brought before buying Peggy.

After having one of her foals, I decided to keep her myself and give her the opportunity to have a new career. She is an absolute pleasure to have around and has a lovely nature.

She is a traditional gypsy cob with her full feathers and beautiful long mane.

Peggy is fantastic on the ground and is exceptionally easy to handle. She will stand happily to be brushed, plaited and fussed over all day long. She is:

As Peggy has primarily been a broodmare, her ridden education has unfortunately taken a back seat. I bought her with the intention of bringing her on, but she is still very green under saddle and needs a confident, kind and sympathetic rider who has the time, patience and experience to help her progress.

She is not a novice ride and can be forward when in the saddle.

She has been having professional training twice a week and has been lunged and long-reined. She is willing and has been given a good foundation, but she now needs someone who can dedicate more time to her than I am able to offer.

I have been told Peggy has previously been ride and drive, although I have not personally hacked her or done any driving with her since owning her, so I would like any prospective home to treat her as green and bring her on accordingly.

Her back, feet and teeth are all up to date, with no known issues.

Peggy is not being sold as a ready-made riding horse. She is being sold as a lovely, genuine mare with the potential to develop into a fantastic partner for the right person. She needs someone experienced, confident, patient and, most importantly, kind, who will give her the time she deserves.
