HONEST ADVERT PLEASE NO TIME WASTERS

  • 15h blue and white heavy cob but to be honest looks white.
  • Cheeky, loveable cob with alot of character.
  • I have him hogged and clipped out but does have alot of hair when grown out.
  • 8 this year
  • Fully vacc and wormed
  • Good to clip all over but can be a fidget with legs, needs more work with them, not scared of clippers at all.
  • Good to bath
  • Good with farrier and shod all 4
  • Good to catch
  • Doesnt need any hard feed - he actually wont be bothered about it.
  • Fed hay or Haylage
  • He goes on my wagon (7.5t) does need a little more work in this area, he travels well.
  • He is not strong at all to be ridden and only has a loose ring peanut snaffle.

More about him

I bought Joey unseen, unvetted from a dealer last April. When he came he was super fat and green in school . We hacked out odd day a week and prob went in school once or twice a week. He had kids and teenagers sit on him no issues at all . We had a little yard show and we dressed up for charity and he was happy to comply

Out hacking

Fantastic in traffic, we do meet tractors, bin lorries, quads, bikes, vans and cars and never had a issue with traffic but can be unsure about smaller things i.e signs, gate ways etc doesnt really do anything but this said i personally think he needs a confident rider to kick him on. Hacks on his own with a confident rider, hacks with others and happy to follow a confident horse.  But i have also attached a video taken with my friend and he had the bale plastic round his legs and he didnt bother one bit. Shows he really is not bothered . He mainly just walks very very slow and unsure if your unsure but he has flinched and spooked if something took him by surprise.

Last summer I took him to local xc/ country ride twice and although i wasnt jumping we had a canter in open fields with no issues, he went in and out of water and lead the more nervous ponies in to the water.

We also did a couple of pole work clinics with Kath Pinnington and Ashley Ward, he travelled to them in the wagon on his own and with another horse.

He has a cheeky personality and is always in your face, nothing can be left out round him as he will find it funny to chuck it around.

He is a hot horse and doesnt need many rugs even though fully clipped. He has not been in anything thicker then 100g this winter  and thats just when it was super cold.

He likes been out playing (and he does play ) with his pals. Only had him with geldings and he loves ponies.  He has been out in winter but not every day and some times just for a hour and he has not been any different.

Unfortunately bangs his door when he thinks you need to give him attention.

A few issues we have ironed out now.

He is not brilliant to lunge although I can do it now with no issues, I think he was trying it on a little as he finds lunging boring. He does not put any effort in at all and if he can he will stop and turn in . He is better when doing poles to get him to think but still prefers to be ridden.

Although he has never been brilliant with canter transitions (i thought its cos he was green) Aug he started to buck in to canter and by sept i decided to have it checked. I got physio and vet out ( physio has seem him regular). Plenty of tests got done but the main thing that came up was getting weight off him. So come oct i started the weight loss. And he has had a week swimming where he did really well. In total up to date i think he has lost about 65kilo but not had him weighed since nov.

It was thought he may of had stifle changes but nothing major showed up on xrays ( no more then any horse xrayed)  . I opted to have them medicated anyway and we went back in to work/rehab. He was improving with work and weight loss. Come december my vet was concerned over his hinds and the way he moved, although said some of it his his way of going. So we scanned his lower hock area . Nothing showed up at all, yet again i opted to medicate and a month later the vet said she thinks its all down to weakness of the hind as never been taught to use  them correctly. He is back in full work and has been since jan 21 and is getting stronger by the day. He is loving his schooling sessions and out hacking he seems happier. He is currently been schooled by a professional twice a week and hacked another 3/4 times a week.

I have had the vet see him regular and i intend to carry on doing that until he is sold. He has improved so much from his schooling sessions, so can only see him getting stronger and fitter and more educated . Also he has only done the odd buck since he has been schooled, we think he bucks when he is confused or hasnt got correct balance/strength (only ever done it on canter transition)  and only ever in school. Making most of the lockdown and getting him as fit and strong as he can be . He is in work 5/6 days a week and when i mean work he is hacked out for up to 1.5hrs or schooled for 30mins. I also lunge him and long rein him .  This doesnt mean he needs all that work but we felt this was a way of seeing if he can cope with the work. Vet said just treat him as a normal horse now as his improvement is amazing. A couple of vets he met when having various tests have since seen videos and in person of him working etc and have said how amazing he looks in every way. They are so proud of what we have achieved with corrective schooling work.

We loose jumped him and he loved it but soon became lazy . He can jump though but this is a area that needs work on. He wont make a show jumper but will pop a jump out hacking or off fence in school.

In my honest opinion i feel he needs to go to a confident rider who will get the best out of him who wants to have fun . I wont be selling him to a novice.  I feel he needs the education, confidence and time from a more exeperienced rider.

I paid alot of money for him but my main priority is him and finding him the best of homes comes with with a bridle and rugs . His saddle i feel does not fit the best since he lost the weight so dont want to sell him with that. I am open to offers on price to the best of homes only

I am only selling as my demons are letting him down and i also have 2 young children. I am open to questions but please dont waste my time i am super busy. Genuine sale, honest advert so please dont waste my time . My vet is happy to speak to people if they are interested but only if they are super interested (i dont want her messed about)

This is a sad sale of a super horse with a really lovely character. He currently stands at 15.1 but will mature around 16hh+. He has superb bone, correct confirmation and lovely straight flowing movement.

He is on a green book passport, has recorded breeding by a Connemara stallion. This horse will excel in any field and will only be sold to an experienced 5* home.

He has a very trainable attitude; with a calm demeanour and we have found very little that fazes him. He is currently unbroken and being lunged with a roller on and is completely relaxed about it. For such a young horse, he is very laid back!

All regular vaccinations, worming, trimming and teeth checks up to date. In the stable he is excellent to groom, wash, with the farrier and very easy to load onto a box and catch from the field

Confident, knowledgeable 5* home only for this smart gelding. Sorry no novices due to this being a young horse.

Owner would really love to keep in touch with new owner.

Serious enquiries only please - calls only please.

  • M-H/Weight Cob Type Preferred
  • Knowledgeable Family Home Offered

Do you have a genuine, trustworthy horse who you are needing to find a genuine, trustworthy, new home for?  I have been searching for many months, for a steady, gentle natured character.  We offer a super, kind, knowledgeable family home along with my retired golden oldie, my daughter’s pony & our 2 Shetlands.  Our horses are part of our family & receive the very best of care & I would be happy to provide references & welcome home visits.  I have many years of experience; however, I am a middle aged, middle weight mum whose days of riding ‘quirky’ horses are now in the past so please nothing too forward, sharp or unpredictable - I am not as brave as I once was!  We enjoy spending time with our horses so he/she must be gentle natured, enjoy attention & be good to handle on the ground.

I sadly had to retire my wonderful boy last year – he is now enjoying life as our much loved ‘lawnmower’ at home with us.  I have been left searching for a horse to join us for myself to ride enjoying leisurely hacks, pleasure rides, beach trips & the odd bit of schooling but nothing competitive.  I will often be hacking alongside my 8-year-old daughter on her pony so it is hugely important that I find a laid back, trustworthy type who I can depend on.

We live in a rural area & although we generally meet very little traffic, it is usually a tractor/farm vehicle, so it is important that my new horse is trustworthy around this type of traffic.  Although I will often hack out with my daughter or friends, I will also be hacking alone at times so must be happy/safe hacking out solo.

I do appreciate that no horse is ‘perfect’ but please do be honest about any possible known ‘issues’ as I will be wishing to view & have the horse vetted.  Although I am not searching for a ‘world beater’ or intending to participate in any strenuous adventures I am looking for a healthy & sound horse to enjoy many years ahead out making memories!

We are based in Norfolk so ideally looking for something in or around East Anglia but would travel further (lockdown allowing) if plenty of info, videos & photos could be provided beforehand.  I am looking to purchase & have a sensible budget & a forever home for the right horse.

4yr old coloured gelding, shire x warmblood, bought as a 2yr old, backed late summer last year as a 3yr old , turned out over the winter and now back at the breakers being hacked out, he can be viewed there.

Has been brought on slowly since being broken, he is still quite green, especially in his canter, he has a big canter which he can’t quite organise yet!

I am being honest .... mostly he can be quite lazy, although I can make him fairly forward if I want to to but he would soon revert to lazy given half the chance! However he can have the odd spook with his eyes on stalks but does nothing about it other than stop, he really does need miles on the clock

He’s a gentle cob with a lovely temperament but on occasion can be scared of life. Ready for his forever person to bring him on.

Lovely to handle. Has been clipped, has a full set of shoes on and loads into my lorry, also has had teeth done. Up to date with vaccines.

  • A genuine chap looking for a forever home

I’m very sadly looking for a new forever home for Ace.

Ace is a full up 15hh, black gelding. Age 8. He has fantastic character, fun and loving.

Ace is good to catch, load and travel. He’s been wormed regularly and is fully vaccinated. He's also good to bath and clip.

Ace is happy turned out or stabled. He enjoys the company of other horses, though he is happy to be left in the field on his own too.

Ace happily hacks alone and in company and will go first or last. However, he may need a little encouragement past lorries and tractors. Ace needs more schooling, as he’s done mainly hacking, he is quick and willing to learn and just needs someone with the time to put into him. His education is continuing all the time he is learning to jump and has popped over some small poles on the school.

This is a very sad sale, I am moving and have had to make the decision to find him a new competent and knowledgeable home. Ace will make a great all-rounder in the right hands, I just don’t have the time to do him justice.

Please let me know if you would like to see some videos of Ace or any other photos.

Homebred Shire cross thoroughbred. Coming 5 year.

Troy is a fabulous example of this fantastic cross.

He is perfect in every single way.

He’s got the looks the movement, the temperament and oozing a fabulous personality with talent.

He truly is anybody’s ride.

He has done 3 days hunting.

We have kept his hunting down to a minimum due to his age and size.

You can do literally anything with him you can ride him and lead others off of him.

You can take him hunting and know you’re going to have a safe relaxing and fun day out.

His first day of Hunting ever was with a young 16-year-old girl that is in these photos he was impeccably behaved.

We backed him ourselves as a 4 1/2-year-old with allowed him to mature slowly as his size is rather large.

He’s excellent to shoe clip wash load hacks out alone and in company.

Would make a fabulous show horse.

His mum can be seen and his four other siblings can also be seen.

We will only be selling to somebody that can appreciate how special he is.

Hacks out in heavy traffic, happily goes infront or behind.

Very low mileage due to an operation I had on my leg and I was out of action for a year. Now back in full work, still green and slightly unbalanced as needs someone strong in the leg to progress him further as my ankle is fused and I am unbalanced in the saddle unable to help him.

He comes with fitted saddle.

Beautiful heavy black cob gelding, 11 years old, 16 hands. Seeking an experienced, kind, loving home with calm and confident rider for the rest of his life.

Is fantastic and safe when hacking alone in any environment, forests, roads, lanes, open spaces and in heavy traffic and good in company too. Great with tractors, quad bikes, lorries, motor bikes, cyclists, barking dogs and the odd unexpected item on route, such as a bouncy castle! Loves stopping to chat and to be fussed by people when on hacks. Not silly, strong or spooky. No bucking, rearing or bolting. Is easy to steer and stop and light to aids, snaffle mouthed. Very responsive to voice commands on the ground and when ridden. Good all round manners on the ground and in the saddle. Stands for rider to mount from any object from mounting block to gate or stone wall etc. Originally from Northern Ireland where he was an all rounder and was used for hunting. Has been well schooled but is mainly used for hacking up and down the North Wales hills and around forests in current home. Has done small jumps in ménage and on farm rides which he enjoys and has never refused. Enjoys schooling. Has done Le Trek courses, days out and weekends away, beach rides etc..

He is better suited to a well balanced, confident, experienced rider, because although he is very well behaved and gentle, he is not a plod or dope on a rope. He needs a good leader and is a big, powerful horse who can occasionally have bouncy paces and is forward going, so could possibly unbalanced or unnerve a novice.

Up to date with vaccinations and worming. No current or history of health problems, no lumps or bumps. Great feet, shod on all four. Has never had sweet itch or laminitis. Regularly treated for feather mites endemic in his breed. Has been in current home for almost 5 years and is only being considered for sale to the right home, through no fault of his own. Open to 5 stage vetting. Good for vet, osteopath, dentist, farrier. Loads and unloads and travels well in lorry or trailer. Great being washed with shower gun on hosepipe and loves being pampered and groomed. Good to clip. Comes running when his name is called or to whistle when in the field. Good with dogs and other animals.

A well mannered, genuine, healthy solid cob who has done a bit of everything. Enjoys work and having variety and continued education. Will be someone’s loyal friend and pride and joy and will form a very strong loving bond. Correct partner match essential as this adorable horse deserves a future soul mate as kind and as sensitive as he is.

Extensive range of good quality belongings and rugs etc available.

Photos and videos available.

An amazing opportunity, Horses like this aren’t available very often and we are so lucky to have her here on behalf of our client . She really does turn heads wherever she goes!

Tess was with us 3years ago she previously was show produced did Hoys qualifiers just needed some time to mature, with us we had some fun Hunting/Jumping etc .. Tess then for 3 years has had a allrounder home and progressed her training slowly. She has established 3 balanced paces and has competed up to prelim in dressage with scope to go further in this area. Tess was shown before they had her and we believe she would do extremely well in the show ring she had presence class and the wow factor. She has SJ up to 90cm at home with current owners and competed her at 70cm unaffiliated. Tess has also done some XC training and mini events !

Tess is good to hack alone and in company and is not fazed by any traffic. She seems to step up a gear during winter and often looks out across the fields as if looking for the hunt so that she can join in! Tess hunted very briefly before they bought her, and I am sure now she would head the field with the best of them. Therefore, we are ideally looking for an experienced hunting/ showing home for Tess as we believe this is what she was made for.

Tess is well mannered and easy to manage around the yard. Good to catch, load, box, clip, shoe etc. Owner has taken her to numerous clinics and competitions on her own and she is easy to out alone, She has recently required some sedation to clip her legs, but I believe she would get used to with the right experience and handling.

Tess has spent over 2 years with owners on a busy farm where she had been used to tractors, children and dogs running around the place. She is completely unfazed by hounds running between her legs when schooling in an open arena and does not seem to mind birds flying out in front of her both around the yard and when cantering across open fields.

This is a genuine sale of a genuine horse. It has been a difficult decision due to a loss of interest on owners part and a feeling that she has taken Tess as far as her ability allows her but thinks Tess has plenty more to give ! Tess is a very special horse and has been looked after to the highest of standards with all regular vaccinations, worming, shoeing, back, teeth and saddle checks up to date. Tess will only be sold to an experienced 5* home where she will be utilised to her full potential and taken further. This is a big powerful mare so not looking for a novice rider.

  • 16hh 11yo sporty cob gelding.
  • Loves to jump!

Well-marked, attractive model with a turbo engine. Marley truly is a super cob in need of a job - ideally showjumping, hunting, team chasing or hunter trialing. Right rider should also be able to convince him to entertain eventing! He absolutely loves to jump and has the scope and technique to out-jump a lot of sports horses I know. Athletic as a springbok, scopey as a flea, brave as a lion and careful as a cat - wants very much to get to the other side and without touching a thing. Has hunted and competed successfully in unaffiliated classes up to 1.05m showjumping and cross country in a previous home.

Marley is not for the faint of heart or wet of lettuce. He has an attitude and a sense of humour and needs a rider who can take a joke and laugh along with him. He's certainly no rodeo star but he does kick up his heels and can have a buck when he's fresh, excited or looking to make a statement! He is a responsive ride with big paces and a big uphill canter, nicely schooled on the flat but currently comes out a bit cold and fussy in the contact. Warms up and works very well and this is something we expect to improve with strength. Has the potential to do a good test with the right rider.

Brilliant to hack, good on the roads and will mooch along on the buckle alone or in company. Good to do on the ground can just be a typical opinionated cob but is easy to put him back in his place. Needs sedation to be clipped. Other than that no quirks or vices and is a pleasure to have on the yard.

Needs a confident, capable rider. Absolutely no novices or happy hackers unless they're the adventurous kind!

For sale on behalf of a client. Serious enquiries to please call only. Texts and WhatsApp messages may not be answered. All videos can be found on the Amy Derber Equestrian Facebook page just search 'Marley' in the search bar.

  • Kind natured, happy horses only!

Perhaps you are looking to sell your chilled out chappy, marvellous mare or golden oldie who needs a quieter life in the countryside? If so, then hopefully I can provide the perfect new home.

Looking for a horse to join our family for hacking, dressage and the odd fun ride, 15.3-16.2hh.

Although an older horse may suit, I am open to something younger as well, as long as he or she doesn't require riding daily as I do work full time to fund my horsey habit!

Must be safe and sane out hacking, in traffic and open spaces, confidence giving type. Not worried about age, gender or breed but a chilled out attitude to life is a must.

Loving home awaits on peaceful private yard with two other horses and lots of grazing/ large stables. More than happy to keep in contact.

Veterinary history will be required so please be honest, I am open minded in finding my perfect partner.

Here we have Sive, an extremely well put together Irish draught Mare. She has exceptional breeding in her pedigree and was Sired by Scrapman who has been recently exported to South America. So very desirable champion boodlines, and broodmare potential for this Lady.

This mare has a great attitude towards life and is a joy to be around day to day with Manners both on the floor and when Ridden , stands at the mounting block like a real lady and is good to hack out alone or in company. She is good in traffic and is often used to Nanny and give a lead to some of the young blood stock.

Sive was broken later on in life due to no fault of her own as she breed 2 foals as a 4yo - 5yo.

Full history known about this Mare as she has been with us since she was a yearling.

She is showing great potential in her work and has really progressed in her schooling and training. She has been out cubbing this year where she proved mannerly and obedient taking it all in her stride. Unfortunately due to Covid she did not get a full season under her belt.

Sive has been to fun rides , training shows and has competed at a novice Hunter trial proving brave and bold to her fences.

Her flat work is slowly coming on bit by bit and she is up to date with the Farrier and Dentist.

This Mare has low mileage for a 7 year old but has the potential to go on and do great things in the right hands.

She is straight and correct, big moving mare.

Would make a cracking working hunter or Heavy weight show horse potential.

Snaffle mouth , and is ridden by both my partner and I, who is petite girl.

Genuine seller looking to find this lady a forever loving home , someone capable and knowledgeable who can get the full potential out of her and bring her on in her ridden career.

Please no time wasters or dreamers.

This is a quality horse. Open to vet.

Penny is a 16.2h black mare, 6 years. She has a calm, willing attitude with 3 very balanced paces that makes dressage easy for her.

We have been competing online dressage through the lock downs scoring 70% + in Novice and Prelim. She is just in a snaffle at all times.

She is very sensible and easy to ride. Before lock down she was also used for clients in the riding school who loved her and very much enjoyed riding her.

She has a lovely friendly cuddly nature and loves being fussed and groomed. She has a super jump and happily jumps a course with fillers of 80/90 cms with lots of scope to do much more.

She is great to hack, being good in traffic and very sensible. She has hacked both on her own, as escort (in front) and will also go behind happily.

This will be a very sad and reluctant sale of this really super horse.

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

BOOTS

Ref #: 245146
  • A cracking allrounder and a class stamp that can do it all!
£7,000
  • Irish
  • Coloured
  • Mare
  • 6 years
  • 16.1 hands
  • A cracking allrounder and a class stamp that can do it all!

The real deal! 2014 Irish mare standing at approximately 16.1hh.

Boots is a rare find, big, bold and beautiful! A complete sweetheart who gives it her all and tries her hardest.

Boots is a fun, forward ride, snaffle mouthed and a gorgeous mover, show ring quality but an absolute machine jumping wise, she has hunter trialled, she isn’t phased by fillers or cross country fences, athletic other a fence and a comfortable ride, Boots takes things on and gives her rider so much confidence. She is an easy ride, uncomplicated, very safe and always pleasing.

She’s fantastic to do, a lovely hack when alone or in company, brilliant in heavy traffic and open spaces, just a cracking allrounder and a class stamp that can do it all!

An extremely rare model and an uneasy find. Recently passed a vetting and she is open to any vet or trainer.
