Spirit - 14.3 Smart, Flashy Cob Spirit is a 12 year old 14.3 cob gelding looking for his new home I have owned Spirit for 6 years when I was just starting out and have produced him myself, we have done a bit of everything including low level eventing up to 70cm, riding club clinics and camps along with hacking and hunting where he makes you feel safe.

He loves his trail hunting and has hunted here on the Mendips and has also enjoyed days on Exmoor coping with all terrains and has jumped walls and rails. Can provide many references.

He loves having a job and can step it up for a more confident rider but he has also looked after more novice riders allowing them to learn the ropes. He is good in open spaces and hacks both alone and in company we have done numerous fun rides.

He is based on a busy livery yard and is used to heavy machinery and hacks straight onto a busy main road without issue. He is a balanced ride in all three paces and can produce a tidy dressage test and can literally turn his hoof to anything.

He is a clever, cheeky cob who is good to shoe, load (travels in lorry or trailer without issue), he is naturally a hairy cob and I keep him fully clipped out all year around. He is good to clip all over but does need some mild sedation for his legs but have always done this myself. He is clever and on the ground he will try it on if he thinks he can get away with it so does need a confident handler however I have always managed this and can discuss further.

He is a much loved member of the family and only reason for selling is I am looking to step up now and he is ready to show someone else the ropes. He is fit and ready to go and is up to date with vaccinations and teeth. Tack available by seperate negotiation. O

15.2 weight carrying cob mare she’s absolutely fantastic hack in company will go back front lead past the scariest things .
Please don’t be put off by her age she’s low millage always been loved no arthritis . in her previous home she done funrides and hacking.
I’m not a jumping person and her age I want a happy hacking home fun rides not a teenager to blast her around .

Quality middleweight pure bred Irish Draught mare, 5 years old, standing approx. 16.3hh. DJ has been in our ownership since she was a two-year-old. She was carefully broken by ourselves as a four-year-old last summer and turned away to mature, before being brought back into work in late August 2025. She has since completed a full season’s hunting.

She has hunted both trail hunting and with the bloodhounds, proving bold, genuine and very willing to a fence with a lovely, scopey jump. She is brave without being silly, stands quietly at the meet and is good with hounds. A thoroughly enjoyable middleweight with substance, presence and a canter you could sit to all day long.

At home she is straightforward and easy to manage. She hacks alone, is sensible in open spaces and good in traffic. In the school she has established basic flatwork with correct, balanced transitions; however, she remains green on the flat and is not yet ready for a dressage test.

A smart, honest young mare with plenty of potential as a hunter or quality all-rounder.

Rupert is a 17hh Shire grey gelding ,rising 5yrs in May this year.
He was broken in last year by myself and my 14yrs old son and a very easy horse too. Plenty of long reining on the roads and lots of traffic too. He's stands quietly when asked in heavy or busy traffic. Is very happy with low fly army aircraft and helicopters as we live on Dartmoor. Farm traffic, vehicles etc.
Is very quiet to ride out in open spaces on Dartmoor. Rides in company and on his own quietly. Not fussed by everyone or anything.

Fred
15hh 18-year-old Irish Cob
Fred is a lovely, laid-back chap, looking for his new home.
He is a lovely stamp of a horse, a leg in each corner. The type you sit on and never want to get off.
He’s had the past year building up his current owners confidence after a riding accident from a different horse. He has done his job really well and she is now ready for the next one.
Fred would suit a confident novice. He is a cob, so he needs someone with legs that kick.

Fred is good in the heaviest traffic out hacking, never bothered by any other horse’s behaviour, great in open spaces,

Fred will happily live in or out, with mares or geldings,
He is a big, soppy boy on the ground. Easy to handle, is sedated to clip as he has ticklish legs but is very good and stands like a rock.

Fred is up to date with vaccinations. farrier, dentist, and physio.

He does prefer to see company when stabled and in the field, so he wouldn’t suit a solo yard.
The current owner hasn’t tried him solo out hacking. That is on my to-do list.

Fred is an ex riding school horse, so very chilled with different riders. He is more whoa than go, but will happily go with the right persuasion.

Patch is suited to schooling , riding school , hacking , all round fun horse , novice ride

Patch is gentleman with ands always willing to please.

Patch is very good on the ground to handle and to lead. He is good in the stable and you can muck out round him with no head collar on.

Patch loves to be brushed and given attention and you can do this tied up or loose. Patch is good with his feet and you can pick them all up without a head collar on. Patch is good to clip and was recently done and stood like an angel just eating his haynet.

When’s comes to riding him he is a novice ride and a school master. He walks trots canters both reins with ease and is push button. He will hack alone or in company and isn’t phased by heavy traffic.

Patch has jumped show jumps and xc jumps and loves to get out and about if this is what you like to do. He has been to sommerford park and also attended training clinics.

Patch has no vices and is an easy going chap.

Patch is good to tack up and also to put rugs on. Patch will stand at the mount block all day long for you to mount and get sorted ready for your ride. He will stand while you do round the world on him or go to the pub for a pint (1 of his favourite things )

He is good to load and travel and just stands eating his haynet

He will live in or out he in a hardy type that doesn’t need much maintainance. He is good to catch and lead to and from the field.

All in all a super horse with a lot to give and will make somebody very happy

King – Big Heart, Huge Potential, Looking for His Forever Person

Nottingham, NG12

King is a much-loved horse who is only available due to no fault of his own. This has been a very difficult decision, but my daughter’s health issues have meant she has been unable to ride, and she no longer has the confidence he truly deserves. Our absolute priority is finding him the right, knowledgeable home.

We purchased King in July 2025 from Smart Performance Horses (Sam Walton) for my daughter. Since then, he has been ridden regularly (around 4 times a week) by a loaner — usually schooling or hacking, weather dependent, especially over winter.
 

About King

King has the biggest heart and forms a strong bond with his rider. He is kind and not malicious in any way, but he does need a confident, reassuring person to bring out his best. He thrives on routine and enjoys having a job — keeping him mentally stimulated really suits him.

He works beautifully in the school, is responsive to leg and voice, and is willing and trainable.

He loves hacking and will go alone or in company. He can be a little more aware when alone, but he continues to improve with consistency. He has previously hunted and enjoys being out and about.

King can be spooky at times, but this is improving steadily with regular work and confident handling.
 

Environment & Handling

He is currently kept on a working farm and is completely used to sheep, farm machinery and general activity.

Good with farrier

Recently seen the dentist and behaved impeccably

Good ground manners, though benefits from confident handling
