Belle is a rising 5 Welsh Section D
Sired by Menai Cardi Llywnd

Belle is standing 14.3 but still bum high she should easily make 15hh once finished. Belle was very lightly broken as a 3 year old and turned away until this spring when she was coming 4.

During which she has done a few local farm rides, including Somerford where we ended up going alone so I had no school master for her, to which she behaved brilliantly and popped everything asked.

In September this year she headed down south to do the badminton fun ride where we stabled away from home for the weekend and met up with friends as well and she was absolutely foot perfect.

Belle has 3 lovely paces but school’s much better away from home than at home - I’ve no idea why!

She did a local show at our riding club this year where she picked up 2nd in the M and M and if I’m really biased she should have won as the winner picked the wrong leg!!

She’s a sensitive soul and would benefit from someone who can give her lots of 1-1. She hacks out alone or in company. She is always fine in traffic however hasn’t seen awfully busy roads as we are in a quiet area but have plenty of farm machinery knocking about.

Belle is turned out in a group, until she gets to know you she can be a sensitive soul where catching is considered however this has gotten better and better, her only other fault is that she can now and again have ‘d**khead’ day as I call it where about once a month everything is spook worthy - but this just adds to the Welsh dragon

Belle is still very very green as we really have done the bare minimum while she’s spent her time growing up. Day to day all she does is hack so when I do decide to do farm rides and fun rides she really has been thrown in the deep end. She has absolutely not been rushed in anyway so still so much for her to learn

She is really ready for someone to put their own stamp on.

She travels in a trailer but arrived to me on a box - good to clip (twitched for ears only). Good to shoe. Vaccinated up to date.

I did buy he as a rising 3 year old to sell on eventually but I’ve consistently put it off. But we have a wedding coming up this year with funds needed and a child that takes all my time showing now so less time to produce her.

Professionally produced by previous owner. Henry is a handsome 17.2hh rising 9 dapple grey well bred Irish draught gelding. Snaffle mouthed, purchased 3 years ago to compete in showjumping and dressage; is sound in every way. Purchased from instructor at current yard he has been at yard since 3 years old; is well loved and a sad sale.

An all-rounder he is kind and genuine who has his own fan club at the livery yard. He is a social horse interested in his surroundings and loves a fuss and a treat.

No fault sale, due to son no longer riding due to work commitments and mum preferring to hack out with friends and ride at current livery yard, where Henry is happy to take part in group or individual lessons, clear rounds, and dressage tests. Henry is happy, however could enjoy much more.

With the current owner's son, Henry proved to be potentially an extremely talented horse, clearing short clear rounds with scope and clever enough to work out of an awkward stride. As currently ridden by mum, this would need to be developed by any new home.

Up to date vaccinations, dentist, physio and worming, good with farrier and bathing and clipping.

Offered with Albion K2 jump saddle and Lemieux Kudos snaffle bridle and rugs. Price reflects lack of current competition history outside livery yard events.

Full Irish Draught Standing at approx 16.2 hh, 5 years. Breeding - by Devils Punchbowl (Crannagh Hero) out of a Westmeathe Lad Dam.

Red has been professionally backed and bought on slowly, trained using natural horsemanship methods. Time and care has been taken to give him the best possible start in his ridden life.

Red now needs a kind experienced person to take him out and see the world - not a nervous nelly like me! He is being sold from the field so please don’t expect to come and try riding him. His new person Must have experience with large, green horses.

- Groundwork: Red has done lots of natural horsemanship groundwork, flag training and been walked out in hand both alone and in company. He has started some in hand lateral work. He has been introduced to traffic.

- Ridden: Red can walk, trot and canter in the arena and is calm doing this also in an open grass field. He has done plenty of pole work including some raised poles. He has started some lateral work under saddle.

- Isn’t the type that needs riding every day. You can very much pick up and put him down. He is snaffle mouthed at all times. He is so easy to tack up it is like tacking up grandmas horse!

- Lives in or out. Hardy Irish type and goes out happily in all weathers.

- Barefoot, good Irish feet. Up to date with vaccinations and dentist. No health issues. Had two minor sarcoids removed 18 months ago and no return.

- Contact me for extensive video and a chat. May consider LWVTB for the right person.

Jumping wise she’s great. She will pop rustic fences and coloured fences and we have jumped her up to 90cm, she’s done some low level riding club activities and she’s a nice type for someone to get home and enjoy straight away.

Donald (Kilconieron Donal)
Irish Hunter Type 16.1hh Gelding
15 years young (born 2010)
Hunter / Happy Hacker / General All Rounder

Low mileage horse whose full history is known since coming across from Ireland as a 6 year old. I have owned him for 6 years (and his previous 2 owners were friends of mine).

For the past 10 years he has regularly hunted (but not every week), done pleasure rides, beach rides and general hacking. About 8 years ago he did low level dressage but hasn’t done any dressage or schooling since.

Donald has a big jump but at my age I no longer jump, so photos are with younger riders! He has hunted with the Braes of Derwent, South Durham, Haydon and West Percy and has been ridden by riders ranging from 14 years to 69 years. The only reason I am selling him is that I am now in my mid-sixties and just find him too big and the rest of the family have given up riding.

Donald is good to do in all ways, never bucks, rears or naps and will easily go off in a different direction to the rest of the field but once cantering in a group he likes to keep up (but never overtakes) but I do find him strong (but I am small and old, younger riders don’t seem to find any problem at all). He is very honest and willing, goes where pointed and never refuses.

He has a lovely nature, is excellent to box, shoe and clip (only needs a twitch for his head), rides out alone or in company and will lead off another horse to exercise. He will happily live in or out and can be left for days or weeks and will be exactly the same when you get back on – calm, willing and a pleasure to ride.

Up to date with vaccinations, teeth etc

Open to any vet (3 years ago X rays did show some kissing spines but the underlying problem actually turned out to be a bad fitting saddle, he has had no medication etc and rides/hunts as normal with his new saddle which I get checked twice a year).

A 5* knowledgeable home is wanted for this much loved family horse (sorry no dealers)

Would be prepared to accept £3550 for the right home. Tel: 07817005344 (Based in Northumberland)

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

We are looking for multiple types and sizes of horses from 13.2 – 16.3hh ride and/or drive.
Temperament is very important and must be good to handle by multiple people. We offer our horses a variety in their life, mostly involving hacking and fun days out. We don’t have an arena onsite so ability to hack is a must. Herd turnout, with work rotation so horses get a large amount of rest days. Welfare and care are our upmost priority, 5* home with lots of love and care.
