Full Irish Draught Standing at approx 16.2 hh, 5 years. Breeding - by Devils Punchbowl (Crannagh Hero) out of a Westmeathe Lad Dam.

Red has been professionally backed and bought on slowly, trained using natural horsemanship methods. Time and care has been taken to give him the best possible start in his ridden life.

Red now needs a kind experienced person to take him out and see the world - not a nervous nelly like me! He is being sold from the field so please don’t expect to come and try riding him. His new person Must have experience with large, green horses.

- Groundwork: Red has done lots of natural horsemanship groundwork, flag training and been walked out in hand both alone and in company. He has started some in hand lateral work. He has been introduced to traffic.

- Ridden: Red can walk, trot and canter in the arena and is calm doing this also in an open grass field. He has done plenty of pole work including some raised poles. He has started some lateral work under saddle.

- Isn’t the type that needs riding every day. You can very much pick up and put him down. He is snaffle mouthed at all times. He is so easy to tack up it is like tacking up grandmas horse!

- Lives in or out. Hardy Irish type and goes out happily in all weathers.

- Barefoot, good Irish feet. Up to date with vaccinations and dentist. No health issues. Had two minor sarcoids removed 18 months ago and no return.

- Contact me for extensive video and a chat. May consider LWVTB for the right person.

The Ultimate Confidence Giver

Reenie is an exceptional 15.2hh 8 year-old Cob mare who offers the rare combination of safety, strength, experience, and a heart of gold. She is kind, bold, dependable, massive weight carrier, ideal for a wide range of riders – from complete beginners, nervous adults and children to more experienced jockeys who prefer a calm and steady ride.

Reenie is beautifully put together and has “been there, done that” in every sense. A calm, considerate and willing mare, she is the definition of safe and steady. She has more “woah” than “go”, making her a perfect mount for riders who want to enjoy their riding at a relaxed pace without compromising on ability or responsiveness.

Ideal for Beginners, RDA, All-Round Riders

Reenie has worked extensively in a professional riding school environment for the past 2.5 years, and she has excelled with every level of rider – from total novices to advanced. She is also a firm favourite for RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) and special requirements sessions, both under saddle and during stable management and therapy activities.

She has experience in flatwork lessons, both private and group, as well as participating in our in-house showjumping and cross-country competitions. She is confident over coloured and rustic fences and has a bold, careful jump. She would easily compete in showjumping, cross-country, working hunter, one-day events and hunting.

Reenie also absolutely loves to hack out and does so safely and calmly. She will happily hack alone or in company and has been exposed to the heaviest, fastest-moving traffic imaginable. She is completely unphased by buses, lorries, farm machinery and all types of vehicles. She remains safe and steady in all environments and does not rush or pull, even in open spaces or on the way home, you can gallop her across open fields with loose horses running along side her, then immediately pull her up and allow her to walk on a long rein or ask her to stand while horses run around her, she is most definitely not sharp, spooky or spiny.

She has been truly exceptional during her time on the riding school, she is unbelievable forgiving when rider lose their balance, struipps or have a bad stride into a fence, she always takes care of her riders, her substantial build, with a leg in each corner, combined with her calm disposition, sure-footedness, and gentle nature, gives even the most nervous riders the confidence to progress and excel. She will stand patiently at the mounting block for as long as needed, without moving an inch. I can honestly say she has absolutely no quirks, negative or marish traits.

Although she is happy to go at a quiet steady pace, she is also responsive to the leg and has three beautiful balanced, steady paces. For more experienced riders, she will work into a nice outline with enthusiasm and energy, always staying calm and sensible, she has NEVER bolted, bucked, reared, kicked or bitten, she is the most loving kind mare you could ever wish to meet. Snaffle mouth with absolutely no gadgets.

She also was broken to drive at 3.5 years of age and participated in a lot of driving activities on the road and cross country, Reenie has got fantastic foundation of driving having been professionally and consistently coached through the steps ensuring she has a full understanding of the driving process, despite her immense strength she remains very soft and light in the hand when ridden, she is not pulley or strong under saddle.

Manners, Temperament & Handling

Reenie has outstanding ground manners. She stands for hours to be groomed and fussed over, with or without a headcollar or lead rope. She is never marish or clingy, and she’s happy living in or out. In the field, she keeps herself to herself and never causes trouble, whether stabled alone or turned out in a mixed herd.

Reenie has a history of excellent health and has never had laminitis, sweet itch, sarcoids, or any lumps, bumps, or unsoundness. Full veterinary history from birth, she has only had 2 owners.
She is currently barefoot with strong, healthy hooves and is equally happy to be shod. She is excellent to bath, catch, great to load and travel, fantastic with the farrier, vet, and dentist.

She is incredibly low maintenance, requiring no daily work. She can have weeks or even months off and return to ridden work without any fuss. She maintains her condition year-round on a simple diet and is easy to manage in every way.

She passes our riding school annual Licence Inspection, which is the equivalent of a Stage 2 vetting.

A Truly Special Mare

Reenie is a rare gem. She is the perfect choice for someone looking for a calm, dependable, and capable all-rounder. Whether you’re a nervous adult, a beginner rider, someone looking for a safe happy hacker, or a family looking for a versatile and loving horse, Rennie fits the bill perfectly. She is a genuine schoolmistress who provides confidence and enjoyment in every ride and will give her next owner years of pleasure.

Why Is She for Sale?

This is a heartbreaking sale. As part of our regular stock rotation, we give our riding school horses the opportunity to move on to private homes every two years so they can enjoy one-on-one attention and new experiences. Reenie is ready to bring joy to her next rider and deserves the very best home. She has been truly exceptional.

DYLASAU AMAZING ACE - Approx 16.3, 5yo (2020), full ID gelding (Great Grandsire Flagmount King).

This gorgeous big guy is an absolute labrador to be around and handle, he just loves fuss and his 'humans'.

He is a big, quality type. A very solid build with a leg in each corner. That said he is athletic and a forward thinking horse to ride.
Ace was bought as a foal and his owner has done a super job bringing him up. He is mannerly yet inquisitive. He is only recently under saddle with us and is hacking out very well and goes greenly around the arena. He is light on his feet for his size (regularly offering a snazzy medium trot!).

Although he is an absolute Teddy bear, and is really taking to ridden life with ears pricked and a game attitude, he is generally forward off the leg and can have very normal baby moments so IS NOT currently suitable for a novice.

Would love to pop a pair of shoes on, and clip him out, but he is potentially going for a little break if not sold - so come and meet Mr Fluffy!
He has loose jumped, showing nice athletic ability, and he took himself down the line both ways unaided - he is fairly bold

We backed his mother some years ago and she was fairly spicy to begin with but turned into a fantastic hunter - he is fairly similar with 'nicer' spice!

He has the potential to be an absolute 'Jack of all trades', RC/ showing/ grassroots across all disciplines, hunting etc. A absolutely lovely family horse, but he is still learning and needs competent/ an experienced home to solidify good basics into this fantastic horse to ensure a great future and longevity.
In a years time he's the ultimate unicorn amateurs search for.

For sale on behalf of his owner who will be very sad to see him go. A good home a priority.

Open to viewings, trainers and vettings.

16/16.1 2021 RID Grey Gelding
By Farmhill Highlander X Fintan Himself

A very rare opportunity to acquire a real maxi cob type, but also a registered Irish Draught. By the 2024 RDS champion Farmhill Highlander. Theon was acquired at 8 months old as a weaning buddy for my homebred and is now time to find someone for the next adventure!

Theon is wearing tack and lunging very nicely, ready for someone to ride away and produce for the upcoming season. I do not have time for 2 and my home bred is my priority, hence the sale. Theon has been given the opportunity to develop and mature and not been given unnecessary mileage at a young age, which is ideal for someone looking for a true Irish horse that will have longevity to their career. Theon has been to plenty of shows as a yearling/ 2 year old including stay away shows, which he was entirely at ease with and was more than happy to take in the sights and sounds of an atmosphere, so he is well educated in hand for his future.

Theon is a very good boy to do in all ways on the ground and knows his manners. 100% trim/ load/ clippers etc. He really does have the foundations of a dream horse

Due to his age, he needs someone experienced and competent at producing a young horse. He will not suit a nervous or novice, neither someone wanting a quiet hack.

He’s got a great busy little brain with a comical character and will thrive off a busy lifestyle, so he’s looking for someone who likes to be out and about with their horses and always onto the next adventure!

Located in Co Clare, Ireland. 15 minutes from Shannon Airport. Happy to do video chat viewings also.

Charismatic rising 5 year old, 17hh Shire Mare for Sale. Frances is a true example of a Shire Horse, she is dark bay with 4 white socks, plenty of feather and a white strip.

She combines power, elegance and a willingness to work. She is a straight mover and has an impressive walk, trot and canter.

Frances is a responsive and forward going ride, definitely not a kick along and would suit a confident experienced rider to further her education.

I have no doubt she will excel in any sphere, she would look brilliant in the hunting field, dressage arena, show ring or even out eventing.

Frances is excellent to hack both alone and in company, she has seen lots of traffic and is always well behaved. She has been on forestry rides, jumped ditches and is a pleasure to take anywhere!

To handle, Frances is a gentle giant. She has been to arena hires and is good to load and she will stand on the trailer whilst another horse is being ridden.

Frances would be an asset to any yard!

Owner has sold their small holding which forces sale.

MARTHA
Sweet 2021 15hh coloured Irish mare, with a very friendly and kind personality.

Martha is a sweetheart to handle and have around, she’s very friendly, inquisitive and easy. She’s fantastic to hack out when she is on her own or with others, sensible in open spaces and great in all types of traffic.

Martha has three nice paces on the flat, she works in a snaffle and would produce a nice dressage test, she has great self carriage and works in a nice frame.

Jumping wise she’s great. She will pop rustic fences and coloured fences and we have jumped her up to 90cm, she’s done some low level riding club activities and she’s a nice type for someone to get home and enjoy straight away.

Despite being young Martha is safe and sensible, she’s a quiet ride and enjoys work.

She’s a lovely stamp and could certainly go in the show ring, a real take the leg up type.

Very smart Irish cob

He would make a lovely allrounder

He has such a sweet personality and would stand to be pampered all day long! Has been great to catch/farrier/clip/load ect. He rides well in the arena and has been super to hack out alone or in company in traffic ect.

Great mover so would do a lovely dressage test.

He wouldn’t suit a total novice as still needs confidence from his rider, absolutely no badness whatsoever just needs miles. Not a spooky type.

He really is a lovely chap who is ready to be loved and go and see the world!

Bear is a traditional stamp of an Irish Draught, with plenty of bone and substance and a trainable temperament.

He stands at approximately 16.2hh and is rising 7 years old.

A proper weight-carrying heavyweight — like an armchair to ride. As wide as he is tall, with a good solid leg on each corner.

He has hunted this season with us. He is a total gent at home and very easy to do, with absolutely no vices.

Super step with a great jump. He can be trialled out hunting for a fee.

Bear has been a very reliable hunter hireling this season, giving many people a great day’s hunting.

As a youngster, Bear was also lightly shown in hand with great success, including Champion Irish Draught at the Aintree National Show, winner of the 3-year-old youngstock class at the NW Irish Draught Show, gaining his qualification for the Moorbenhall Youngstock Final at the IDHS (GB) breed show, where he placed third.
