Esme – Rising 5 Year Old Traditional Cob Mare – 13.3hh
Esme is a beautiful red and white traditional cob mare who is now rising 5 years old and has continued her education consistently since September 2025, being professionally schooled several times per week alongside regular hacking and varied life experience. She has matured into a kind, sensible and willing young pony with an exceptional temperament and a genuine attitude to work.
She is looking for a knowledgeable home with a teenager, small adult or family wanting a fun allrounder to continue producing. She would suit PC, RC, hacking, fun rides, mother/daughter share or someone wanting a quality cob to bring on further. Due to her age she is still young and learning, so no complete novices please, but she is an incredibly genuine type with lovely foundations already in place.
Esme schools sweetly on the flat in walk, trot and canter and is nicely forward without being sharp. She works in a soft snaffle mouth and tries very hard to please. Since increasing her schooling she has become more balanced and established in her work and continues to improve all the time. She takes everything in her stride and has a very trainable attitude.
Hacking is one of Esme’s biggest strengths. She is brilliant both alone and in company and has been regularly hacked around her current riding centre with tractors, trailers, cars, machinery, dogs and open countryside. Esme is sensible in traffic, enjoys her work and happily goes wherever she is asked.
Esme is now also starting her jumping education and is really enjoying it. She has been introduced to coloured fences, poles and small courses and is proving to be brave, honest and willing. She shows a lovely natural attitude to jumping, enjoys her polework and is careful with where she places her feet. She is still green in this area due to her age but is showing all the right signs to continue progressing.
On the ground she is easy to do and well mannered. She loads and travels well, stands to be groomed, bathed and tacked up, and is good to handle day-to-day. She has travelled in both a trailer and 3.5 tonne horsebox and settles well. Currently barefoot and up to date with vaccinations. Clean legs.
Esme previously had sarcoids removed successfully via laser treatment, which healed very well and have shown no signs of returning. Esme has can be itchy in the spring and summer, she comes with a Boett rug and full tack.
