MARTHA
Sweet 2021 15hh coloured Irish mare, with a very friendly and kind personality.

Martha is a sweetheart to handle and have around, she’s very friendly, inquisitive and easy. She’s fantastic to hack out when she is on her own or with others, sensible in open spaces and great in all types of traffic.

Martha has three nice paces on the flat, she works in a snaffle and would produce a nice dressage test, she has great self carriage and works in a nice frame.

Jumping wise she’s great. She will pop rustic fences and coloured fences and we have jumped her up to 90cm, she’s done some low level riding club activities and she’s a nice type for someone to get home and enjoy straight away.

Despite being young Martha is safe and sensible, she’s a quiet ride and enjoys work.

She’s a lovely stamp and could certainly go in the show ring, a real take the leg up type.

Donald (Kilconieron Donal)
Irish Hunter Type 16.1hh Gelding
15 years young (born 2010)
Hunter / Happy Hacker / General All Rounder

Low mileage horse whose full history is known since coming across from Ireland as a 6 year old. I have owned him for 6 years (and his previous 2 owners were friends of mine).

For the past 10 years he has regularly hunted (but not every week), done pleasure rides, beach rides and general hacking. About 8 years ago he did low level dressage but hasn’t done any dressage or schooling since.

Donald has a big jump but at my age I no longer jump, so photos are with younger riders! He has hunted with the Braes of Derwent, South Durham, Haydon and West Percy and has been ridden by riders ranging from 14 years to 69 years. The only reason I am selling him is that I am now in my mid-sixties and just find him too big and the rest of the family have given up riding.

Donald is good to do in all ways, never bucks, rears or naps and will easily go off in a different direction to the rest of the field but once cantering in a group he likes to keep up (but never overtakes) but I do find him strong (but I am small and old, younger riders don’t seem to find any problem at all). He is very honest and willing, goes where pointed and never refuses.

He has a lovely nature, is excellent to box, shoe and clip (only needs a twitch for his head), rides out alone or in company and will lead off another horse to exercise. He will happily live in or out and can be left for days or weeks and will be exactly the same when you get back on – calm, willing and a pleasure to ride.

Up to date with vaccinations, teeth etc

Open to any vet (3 years ago X rays did show some kissing spines but the underlying problem actually turned out to be a bad fitting saddle, he has had no medication etc and rides/hunts as normal with his new saddle which I get checked twice a year).

A 5* knowledgeable home is wanted for this much loved family horse (sorry no dealers)

Would be prepared to accept £3550 for the right home. Tel: 07817005344 (Based in Northumberland)

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Rio.
Rio is a cracking pony with lots to give. She has qualified for POYS and competed at STARS in her previous home, proving to enjoy competition. When out and about she is always chilled out. With us at our first showing show my daughter and her won junior ridden champion and she got a rosette in every class we had entered. However, Rio is Not a novice ride and needs a very experienced and competent handler and confident rider as she pushes boundaries and can be pushy when handled if she lacks a firm but fair leader.

She is never strong and has perfect brakes. She’s very voice commanded on the lunge and works nicely. Rio has been to the beach with us twice and was not strong whatsoever, she always comes back to you when you want to slow down. She loves hacking and is in no way spooky with a confident rider.

Throughout her life she has done a bit of everything, xc, showjumping etc, with her previous owner. Again in the past before she came to us she went out doing low level eventing mainly for fun and competed at jumping competitions around 80/90cm but with my daughter around 50/60.

Rio and my daughter just arent clicking and after a year of having her my daughter is struggling with confidence. We feel Rio thrives off of someone who is confident. For this reason we found it in Rio’s best interests to find her a new home. She would really excel with the right person.

Good to shoe, bath, clip etc. loves to stand and be pampered for hours. Up to date with everything, farrier, vaccines, dentist, ect.
Open to full vettings

Suitable for very experienced older teen or small adult.

Allrounder / Dressage / Show / Riding Club

“A genuine, well-schooled young horse who will do a bit of everything nicely.”

Ralph is a super, genuine young horse with a lovely way of going. He has very smart, rhythmical flatwork and would comfortably go out and win a Prelim tomorrow. He is sweet, easy and honest to ride, with a willing attitude in everything he does.

He is very straightforward to jump, taking you to a fence in a calm, genuine manner, and really tries for his rider. Ralph will make a beautiful allrounder for someone wanting a quality horse to enjoy and progress with.

Ralph has done a bit of everything:

Professionally schooled

Done some Showing

Training arena eventing

Showjumping

Ready to go out and about

He also enjoys hacking, happy to go alone or in company, and is equally content in front or behind with no preference.

He does have some previous medical history, which has been fully resolved and he has been given the all-clear with no further treatment required. This is heavily reflected in his price.

Up to date with everything- Dentist Farrier,Physio.

Not suitable for a complete novice he would like a quiet, sympathetic rider but he will repay you tenfold with his genuine, honest nature. Ralph is now looking for his best friend to continue his journey.

A very sweet horse with so much to offer in the right home.

CODEY 16.2hh Full Irish Draught By Luke SkyWalker Grey Gelding – 6 Years Old

An absolute gentleman and true all-rounder, this stunning 6-year-old full Irish Draught gelding is beautifully put together, boasting lovely conformation and a huge, expressive step for a Draught. He’s a real head-turner with presence and quality.

Schooling very well on the flat, he shows the talent and movement to go far in dressage or showing. Over fences, he’s brave, honest, and straightforward — has schooled show jumps and arena eventing fences with ease. Point and go type: you kick, he goes. Always careful, never silly. He has competed at local hunter trials where he just skipped round happily behind.

Out hunting, he’s an absolute dream. Hunted in Ireland and the UK with both foxhounds and bloodhounds — impeccably mannered, sensible, and reliable. Equally happy leading, following, or holding the gate. A novice could safely ride him in the field, yet he’s bold enough to take on the bigger country. Would make a brilliant hunt service horse. Doesn’t get bothered by other horses — can lead or be led over fences.

He’s just one in a million — genuine, versatile, and easy in every way. Everything we’ve asked of him, he’s taken in his stride. Good enough to produce further in any sphere, but kind and uncomplicated enough to be enjoyed by anyone.

If you’re looking for a quality Irish Draught with manners, movement, and a heart of gold — this boy is the real deal.

16hh | 2020 Irish Cob Gelding

Tom is looking for a new home through absolutely no fault of his own. He was bought in June (with a clean 5 stage vetting). Unfortunately nerves have got the best of current owner.

He’s a sweet, genuine boy who naturally takes his confidence from his rider. He needs someone who is carefree and happy to kick on, give him guidance.

Tom originally came over from Ireland and has been well handled. On the ground he is a joy — friendly, polite, loves attention, and will stand all day to be groomed or fussed. Good to load, catch and bath.

Under saddle, Tom shows all the promises to be a fantastic all rounder, whether you want a dressage or show partner or a horse to go have fun on and go hunting! He has correct flashy paces. He has lovely movement and is keen to learn.

He’s ridden in a snaffle and has a naturally willing attitude, he has it all there just now needs to go out and show off!

He hacks alone and in company, has seen all sorts of traffic, and is sensible in open spaces.

He hasn’t jumped since being purchased, but previously enjoyed it and was bold and honest when he went XC schooling before his sale.

Tom will make someone a really rewarding partner — he’s safe, sweet, and tries his best, but he’s young and needs a confident rider who can support him and help him continue developing.

Not suitable for complete novices owing to age.

Dolly is a super smart little maxi cob with plenty of bone and substance, and a lovely example of the Irish Draught. She has a kind, sane, and sensible way about her and is a pleasure to have around.

She has hunted this season with the Crawley and Horsham and the Staff College Drag, where she proved genuine, straightforward, and very rideable.

She is not strong and has only ever needed a snaffle. Easy to do in all respects, with absolutely no vices.

Dolly will hack alone and is good in traffic. She works sweetly on the flat and will pop a small course of jumps. She has also taken part in clear rounds at Felbridge Show Ground up to 80cm.

She is quality enough for the show ring, with the presence and movement to do well. She has been and seen a little bit of everything and is now ready for her next chapter in life.

A genuine, well-mannered mare who would suit a variety of riders.

We are a small RDA centre with a big heart looking for multiple types and sizes of horses from 13.2 – 16.3hh ride and/or drive. We are based South West London and hack out in one of London's royal parks.

Temperament is very important and must be good to handle by multiple people. We offer our horses a variety in their life, mostly involving hacking and fun days out. We don’t have an arena onsite so ability to hack is a must. We offer herd turnout, with work rotation so horses get a large amount of rest days.

Welfare and care are our upmost priority, 5* home waiting with lots of love and care.

Duchess is a serious stamp, that would excel as a show hunter, hunter or dressage horse.

Duchess is nicely bred, she is an Irish sports horse by ID stallion Western Blues out of an irish sports horse mare by Dock Leaf, she only has a small amount of TB blood, and to look at she looks like a full ID with good conformation and bone.

Duchess has previously been hunting in Ireland, once imported to the UK she has been in an amateur home enjoying hacking schoolwork, and riding club activities.

On the flat Duchess works in a beautiful outline showing off her stamp and presence. She is currently working at prelim/novice level with all the ability and attitude to go up the levels. She has competed at a training show with us, she was well behaved and judges commented on her correct way of going and ability.

Duchess hasn’t done an excessive amount of jumping due to her previous home not being jumpers. She has been around courses here of 70/80cm always progressing well and eager to please. She would be a super allrounder for someone wanting to have fun.

Duchess is good to hack alone and in company, and would certainly enjoy being back out on the hunt field, and recently did some fun rides. She is mannerly and does not get hot up in open spaces. Good in traffic, and is a reliable sort out hacking.

Duchess is not marish, she is good in the stable. She is good to catch, load, shoe, clip etc. She is a very easy horse to deal with and a pleasure to have on the yard.

For sale on behalf of a client, a sad sale with a genuine reason. Good home is priority.

No vices
Open to vet.
