Bags of 'look at me' presence and personality.

Welsh parents and a Clydesdale Grandparent. Breeding sadly not recorded but traceable.

Kerys came to A.E Equestrian last year to be lightly backed and then turned away to mature. She didn't take many weeks to get hacking out well.

About weeks ago when Keyrs came back we had a very honest discussion with her owner that whilst Keyrs was progressing well with being restarted she is a very young, green active horse who will take a good year to really settle to ridden life as she would like her, therefore she part exchanged her for another horse, more suitable to her lifestyle and riding confidence.

We think she is fab, she has all the bravado of a Welsh, is a powerful, active and attractive model and is proving trainable.

We believe she will be a fabulous all-rounder in time and excel in all RC areas, maybe working hunter will be her bag!

She needs a competent, knowledgeable home who understand the breed, and can competently educate just backed horses.

She is hacking well and has had a walk, trot and canter in the arena. Last week she did a couple of rears but rode on through this, she is a young horse with a big heart and even bigger personality so needs arson to match this.

Genuine enquiries please. She will carry to her education and hopefully join a fun ride or two in Autumn.

Video available on A.E Equestrian facebook page.

Subulter Fern - Stunning dapple grey mare,16.2hh, 6years, weight carrier. Safe and Steady Draught / Irish Cob

Happy Hacker, Weight Carrier, Ride and Drive, Low Maintenance

Fern is an ultimate confidence giver, exceptional 16.2hh chunky mare with a leg in each corner, this rare combination of safety, strength, experience, and a heart of gold. She is kind, bold, dependable weight carrier, ideal for a wide range of riders from competent noice to more experienced jockeys who prefer a calm sensible mount with an engine.

Fern is beautifully put together and has been there and done it in every sense. A calm, considerate and willing mare, she is a perfect mount for riders who want to enjoy their riding at a relaxed pace without compromising on ability and responsiveness. She has a 5th gear to die for when asked, she will love jumping both coloured and rustic fences, she is bold, athletic and careful she would compete in showjumping, cross country, working hunter, hunting, the great thing about Fern is that she has the ability to excel in any discipline while remaining calm and unfazed, she is being completely wasted in a riding school as she has so much potential.

she has been driven prior to us getting her both Single, Pair: harnessed side-by-side to a carriage and team in agricultural, draught, two heavy horses working together.

Fern is currently working 4 days a week in a professional riding school environment, she has excelled with every level of rider from competent novices to advanced, group and private lessons, both under saddle and during stable management sessions.

She would be ideal for hunting. She will stand and wait calmly within large crowds and open spaces and remains completely unfazed by loud noises or horses running around her. She does not fizz up, spook or spin.

Fern loves to hack out and does so safely and calmly. She will happily hack alone or in company and has been exposed to the heaviest, fastest-moving traffic imaginable. She is completely unphased by buses, lorries, farm machinery and all types of vehicles. She remains safe and steady in all environments and does not rush or pull, even in open spaces or on the way home.

Although she is happy to go at a quiet, steady pace, she is also responsive to the leg and has three balanced, steady paces. For more experienced riders, she will work with enthusiasm and energy, always staying calm and sensible.

Fern has outstanding ground manners. She stands for hours to be groomed and fussed over, with or without a headcollar or lead rope. She is never marish or clingy, and she’s happy living in or out. In the field, she keeps herself to herself and never causes trouble, whether stabled alone or turned out in a mixed herd.

Fern has a history of excellent health and has never had laminitis, sweet itch, sarcoids, or any lumps, bumps, or unsoundness. She is currently barefoot with strong, healthy hooves and is equally happy to be shod. She is excellent to catch, great to load and travel, good with the farrier, vet, and dentist.

She is incredibly low maintenance, requiring no daily work. She can have weeks off and return to ridden work without any fuss. She maintains her condition year-round on a simple diet and is easy to manage in every way.

She passes our annual Licence Inspection, which is the equivalent of a Stage 2 vetting.

Fern is a rare gem. She is the perfect choice for someone looking for a calm, dependable, and capable all-rounder. Whether you are a novice rider, someone looking for a safe happy hacker, or a family looking for a versatile and loving horse, Fern fits the bill perfectly. She is a genuine schoolmistress who provides confidence and enjoyment in every ride and will give her next owner years of pleasure.

This is a heartbreaking sale. As part of our regular stock rotation, we give our riding school horses the opportunity to move on to private homes every few years so they can enjoy one-on-one attention and new experiences. Fern is ready to bring joy to her next rider and deserves the very best home. Sold on behalf of a working livery.

We rotate our stock and we are currently reducing our numbers so we have a few other horses and ponies available for sale.

Louis is a super fun quality cob.

He has a very can do attitude to life and being ridden.

He has hunted once which he thoroughly enjoyed and looked the part at! He has been XC schooling, done a little unaff shows and a farm ride.

Louis came to us at A.E Equestrian early this year after his owner didn't feel quite suited to him, he had grown up in a big riding club environment and was considered a novice confidence giver but really he is more active than this. We then sold him to a family with a keen grand-daughter and family but he forgot his ground manners in this small environment and has come back!

All the above really detracts from the fantastic Welsh X cob he is. He hacks well, is great with traffic, pops small fences and might go and pop around local un-aff SJ next week time allowing. He just hasn't found the right people/ set up unfortunately. He really is a true RC/ PC all-rounder go getter! Would be fab for clinics, camps.

On the ground he is super with us. He banged the door on day one and is a bit of an attention seeker, especially if you over treat him, but otherwise he is hard to fault; clipping, shoeing, bathing etc all great. Lives in or out. Doesn't need riding daily etc. Hacks well alone, will ride and lead and regularly nannies young horses.

His flatwork could do with some supplying up but he is very willing and has not really had consistency of late.

Not wasted a present but too good to not be used! We will carry on over the supper and hopefully do a bit of eventing by the end of summer if not sold.

These types are so hard to find.

Too forward for a novice and has quite a Welsh way of going. Would really suit someone wanting to get out and ride and have fun.

Beautiful cob mare

Goldie is an outstanding allrounder mare who would turn a hoof to anything. Heaps of working hunter/showing potential. Great movement on the flat, and a bold scopey jump.

Goldie has hunted, beach rides, hunter trails, dressage shows.

Incredible to handle, clip, shoe, load, bath ect. Far from marish.

She is a true family horse, suited to anyone and everyone. Very easy to do in all ways, she just always wants to please.

A truly lovely mare inside and out who certainly has a bright future ahead.

Freya
15.3 4yr Friesian x cob mare

Freya was lightly backed last year in her previous home in walk and trot and did a few steady pleasure rides. She was then purchased by my client and given the autumn/winter off and brought back into work gently including groundwork, walking in the arena and some hacking from March.

She is currently working in walk and trot in the fields independently, responsive but not reactive, you can put your leg on without getting orbited! She tries hard to please and naturally works in a nice shape, she will be very smart. She is starting to find her balance and confidence in herself and showing some really nice work.
She has been ridden by an 11yr old and was very kind.

She is hacking well in company, happy to lead, not been phased by any of the traffic we have seen out and about, and used to the vehicles on the farm. She has been out alone with us with someone on foot, she looks at a bit more when alone and benefits from support and confidence from her rider, as you'd expect from most 4yr olds!

She enjoys some pole work and is careful where she puts her feet.

She 'parks' for a mounting block, she also longreins well, and lunges.
She settled really quickly, is happy in or out and is nice and easy to have around. She has no vices, but anything left within reach does go in her mouth!
She's good to catch, lead, load, travel, trim (barefoot), bath, for the vet etc.

She enjoys a groom and a fuss and is very loving.
We are looking for someone capable of carrying on producing her now, she'll do a number of jobs in time and be very versatile.
Due to her age she is not suitable for someone nervous/novice/1st horse/rusty, she needs someone capable of continuing her education properly and creating a partnership.

She's up to date with everything and passed a 2 stage vetting when purchased, although obviously open to another suitable vetting (she's not cantering 10m circles yet!).

Home is of top priority.
Price to include bridle and rugs.
No loans or trials
Please don't be offended if I ask for your experience/videos etc, it's important I don't waste anyone's time with unsuitable viewings and/or upset her with the wrong riders. She's very forgiving for her age but is just a baby!

If no answer please drop me a message and I'll ring back ASAP.
She is on sales livery.

15.2hh 5yo British Bred Irish Draught Mare – “Dorothy” – Exceptional Breeding, Quality and Temperament, 9.5” bone

Sire : Aye Aye Skipper
Dam : Ashill Silver Lady (Fast Silver)

Dorothy came to us as an unbroken youngster and we have really taken our time with her, she hasn’t been rushed and overworked for her age like a lot of the pure breds on the current market
She was left until she was 4.5yr old to be brought in and started and was given the time to mature and develop which we believe has really paid off.

Old fashioned stamp of a pure bred Irish Draught mare with beautiful conformation, movement and all the attributes to excel in a variety of disciplines.

She has been carefully and correctly produced with her future in mind, never rushed and always given time to mature. She is now progressing nicely in her education, working in a soft, correct outline on the flat, she moves beautifully with nice transitions and has started popping a small fence with a willing and trainable attitude.

Dorothy is a pleasure to have on the yard and truly is the sweetest mare inside and out – a real yard favourite who will be very sadly missed. She is good to hack both alone and in company, and takes everything in her stride.

She is easy to do in all ways – good to clip, bath, farrier, and dentist. She has a laid-back, kind temperament and does not need to be in constant work, making her easy to pick up and enjoy even after time off.

This is a genuine quality mare with a bright future ahead. She is ready for someone to put their own stamp on and has all the potential to excel as a top show cob or a genuine, high-class allrounder.

Totally clean legs, no vices, no lumps or bumps, easy to catch, load, handle, trim (with clippers) bath, farrier etc

Up to date with vaccines, farrier (barefoot) dentist and worming.

Greylands Maggie May

A super stamp of an Irish Sports Horse mare. She is the full package with the looks and a temperament to die for. She has 3 comfortable paces and a sweet little jump.

She has done a bit of everything, hacks alone or in company, good in open spaces, pops a course of jumps, will hunt all day long, struts a really nice dressage test and looks a picture in the show ring.

Good to do in all ways, loads and travels like a dream, good to shoe, clip, catch etc. genuinely one of the easiest horses to have around. Can be ridden after 6 months off and it was as if she was ridden yesterday.

She would suit someone wanting to hunt, show, hack, compete or generally just do a bit of everything with.

  • Owned since a foal, never thought id sell as hes a very special horse! Absolute gentleman!

Where do I start! I purchased Hercules as a foal from Ireland. As a 3 year old I showed him in hand a a few local venues taking Champion a few times. Feb 2023 he was backed, April 2023 his under saddle competition career started.

So when he was 4 years old he was:
* Nottinghamshire County Show Champion and qualified for LIHS
* Stars Champion of Champions Hunter Champion
*LIHS Middleweight/Heavyweight Hunter Championship 9th with a friend riding him
*won numerous championships showing at various venues

5 years of age
*LIHS Middleweight/Heavyweight Hunter Championship 2nd with me riding him
*Competed Novice and Ele British Dressage scoring up to 75.4%
*British Dressage Associate Draught Championships, Novice & Elementary Champion
* won numerous championships showing at various venues

6 years of age:
*Competed in x3 Medium British dressage scoring between 69-72%
*Qualified for Associate British Dressage Draught Championships at Ele and Medium level (didn’t go to Championships as I the rider had surgery)
*Qualified LIHS Middleweight/Heavyweight Hunter Championship (didn’t go to Championships as I had surgery)

When Hercules was 4 years of age my friends 5 year old daughter rode him in the arena, walk, trotting, circles, he was in an outline it was VERY special to watch. He is genuinely the safest horse to ride there is! Hercules is very trainable and takes everything in his stride, his lateral work, half passes he gets 7.5’s for, his extended trot he can now get a 7 for and every score sheet there's plenty of 7.5 even the odd 8!

He's done numerous fun rides, gallops, beach rides, proving safe and sensible, never getting strong or silly. He's jumped logs and small xc jumps but nothing big. I've not jumped him at home other than the odd cross pole as its not my thing!
I said that id never sell Hercules as he's the most special horse I've ever owned, however I'm 51 and my body is struggling. I've had more down time than ridable time for the past 10 months from surgeries and I've decided to sell both horses as my body unfortunately isn’t coping!

Last March Hercules started to make a noise so July last year he had a successful tie back operation which now means he makes NO noise when ridden and is now able to go out and win any showing class. He also has more energy for the dressage so it was a wise decision made last year.

Hercules has the most adorable temperament and is easy in every way! The only thing he doesn’t like is tractors, wagons and water! I don’t hack him from home as our road is 60mph and he isn’t great with big vehicles but I have trailered him to other locations and hacked him where the roads are quieter and he's fine. On fun rides he doesn’t like to get his feet wet!

Hercules has no vices, blemishes, he has clean legs, no lumps or bumps, good feet and a beautiful brain! I'm very particular who buys Hercules as I love this horse.

  • Safe, Straightforward & Easy to Manage

A truly lovely 16.3hh Full Irish Draught mare with the temperament, ability and presence to stand out from the crowd.

By Moyough Legacy out of a Dowdstown Belle mare by Crosstown Dancer, She combines traditional Irish Draught breeding with proven performance. She has a competitive record at EI90 level and is ready to continue enjoying a varied and successful career with her next rider.

She is the sort that gives you confidence. Brave and genuine to a fence, she takes you forward without being strong or silly and is always ridden in a snaffle. She has three comfortable paces, is light in the hand, works willingly from the leg and is straightforward on the flat. Despite her height, she rides smaller and is easy to manage both on the ground and under saddle.

She would be ideally suited to a Riding Club, Pony Club or grassroots eventing home and would make a fantastic first horse for a competent rider stepping up from ponies. Equally, she is quality enough to be competitive in workers, showjumping, eventing or as an all-round family horse.

A pleasure to handle in every way and a genuine horse to have around. Good to load, travel, catch, shoe and clip. Hacks confidently and is happy to turn her hoof to whatever is asked of her.

A quality Irish Draught mare who is ready to go out and have fun immediately. Serious enquiries welcome.

PROVEN 15hh DRESSAGE/EVENT WELSH COB GELDING

Fabulous opportunity to purchase Marl Mostyn (stable name: Merlin) a much loved and exceptionally talented 15hh, 14-year-old, black, Welsh Cob gelding.

In his long-term partnership with his former rider he competed at BE80 and BE90, placing 7th with a 29.5dressage on his last outing.

Her attentions then switched to dressage where he regularly scored 67%+ at Novice and Elementary level BD.

He was then sold to a lady in her 60s to rekindle the riding of her past, but tragically it has transpired that her own spinal issues mean his talents are being wasted and she has accepted, the sad decision to sell, is in his best interests.

Exquisitely schooled on the ground and under saddle this stunning gelding is sensitive, light and obedient on the flat and has powerful paces and a scopey, exhuberant, careful and bold jump.

He is proven and yet has untapped potential and so we will assess all applicants carefully to ensure he has the best future going forward and are seeking a talented teen or competent adult and not children - rider in the photos is 5'10''!

Barefoot all his life his current owner has adopted that easily.

Trial facilities at his home in the New Forest.

A historic sarcoid removal is declared and reflected in his price.
