• New Yatt Riding for the Disabled is actively seeking a horse to join our team to work with our special riders

The right horse will have these key attributes:

Sound and healthy (no history of laminitis, mud fever or sweet itch) Will live out all year round with both mares and geldings

Happy to work on the lead rein and suitable to be ridden independently by riders of different abilities and confidence levels, including around a course of small jumps

Willing and safe to work in our indoor arena, as well as out hacking and in open spaces

Easy to handle, groom, tack up etc and must be patient and able to stand without fidgeting when mounted and at halt

Our current 6 horses and ponies lead useful, long term working lives at a knowledgeable and dedicated West Oxfordshire equestrian charity.

We have funds available to buy the right horse subject to full vetting and will also consider a long term loan agreement.

5 Year Old Irish Cob Gelding – Rare Roan – Traditional Model with Bone

George is a 5 year old Irish Cob gelding and a super rare type in a beautiful roan colour. He is a proper traditional model with a leg in each corner, plenty of quality bone and a lovely, correct stamp. He has a kind eye, a friendly nature and is the sort of gelding that is easy to have around in every way.

He is exceptionally easy and straightforward to ride, making him an ideal happy hacker, mother/daughter share or riding school type. He has been nicely produced on the flat and rides in a balanced, uncomplicated manner. He is sensible, confidence-giving and always willing to please.

George also really enjoys his jumping. He has schooled over coloured fences and cross country fences and has jumped up to 90cm here with a novice rider. He takes everything in his stride and has a genuine, willing attitude.

Out hacking he is completely reliable.
