Duke has been with us for a week and has fast become a yard favourite, he hacks, he’ll pop a little course and he’s a gem in the school.

He has some basic lateral work and has 3 correct paces.

To hack he is a dream, he doesn’t get upset if someone next to him is spooking, he’ll go first or last and does it all with a smile on his face.

He has done lots of pole work and we have jumped him, he’s always going to go to the other side and enjoys the variety.

He is ideally looking for someone with some experience that will enjoy going on lots of adventures.

15.2hh Piebald Gelding | 9 Years | Outstanding Allrounder with Presence

CHAPS Passport

Numpty is a striking 15.2hh piebald gelding, 9 years old, with a huge personality and presence to match. A true “sports horse in a cob body” – forward-thinking, enthusiastic, and always keen to work. He is a real substantial traditional cob.

He is a versatile allrounder with experience across multiple disciplines including;

Hunting, where he has jumped hedges, rails, walls, ditches, traps etc. He has been hunted by other people. He even took a friend for her first ever days hunting. Often holding gates for the field to pass through. Will stand impeccably at meets and between lines.

Showjumping, arena hires, pole clinics, cross-country schooling, hunter trials, team chasing, dressage, endless funrides and showing. He is consistently placed in the ribbons. He has also stewarded at hunt scurries and will happily lead other horses. He doesn’t get fizzy or silly at any event, he will stand around quietly whether on the box, tied up or mounted.

An absolute pleasure to hack, super safe!! Forward going. Completely unfazed by traffic and excellent with gates. He will happily stand patiently while gates are opened and closed, whether mounted or dismounted. He will allow a rider to mount from anything. He adapts well and can plod along quietly on the lead rein or take care of a novice rider out hacking, including unbalanced riders. He has been hacked out along a busy A road by a complete beginner! He does not react to other horses being stupid, he’s the type to stand and wait if another horse takes off, often takes the lead past scary objects! He doesn’t get silly in open spaces will happily walk, trot, canter or gallop through a field. Respectful of what you ask from him. He has been regularly ridden and competed by my competent now 11-year-old daughter, who also hacks him out alone.

That said, he is not a novice owner’s horse. He is intelligent and knows his job—he will test boundaries and needs a confident, consistent rider/handler to get the best from him.

Forward-going in the school with a willing attitude and three correct paces. With his eye-catching markings and presence, he would excel in the showing ring. Equally enjoys just being a happy hacker.

* Excellent to load and travel in a trailer; stands quietly for long periods
* Happy to stand tied to the box for hours or remain on board
* Good for the farrier
* Can live in or out; happy alone or in company. Prefers to be in during wet weather
* Easy to keep—lives on fresh air
* Fit and ready to go

Bad points - he can’t be perfect with everything!

* Requires sedation for clipping - only hogged for hunt season
* Windsucks occasionally after hard feed/treats (not always and does go days without doing it) will typically do this in the air for a few minutes. Solution would be no hard feed/treats.
* Has a couple of very small sarcoids on his sheath, haven’t changed in the years I’ve owned him, could be treated but have never bothered me. You would never notice them unless pointed out.

He is very much a “one-person” horse who forms a strong bond with his owner—once you have his trust, he gives you everything. Affectionate in his own way (he loves kisses!) but not one for being fussed by everyone.

A very difficult and genuine sale of a much-loved horse. Owned for nearly 3 years and originally purchased as a project, but fell in love. Sadly, I have had to accept that he is just too quiet for me, and it is time for him to find someone who will fully enjoy and appreciate him.

A real head-turner who is always complimented wherever he goes!!

Absolutely no dealers or nervous/novices. Long term private home sought after!! A home where I could ideally keep in touch.

Open to any vet/inspection

Very hard and sad sale of this beautiful boy . I really think he will thrive in the correct home and set up which unfortunately I don’t have .

The ideal home would be a herd turnout and a quiet yard. He can be a sensitive boy .

Somewhere he will have others to hack out with ( he will hack alone but he needs someone confident as he can nap . When he was being rehabbed he hacked out alone with no issues ) he’s great with all traffic bikes etc .

He will walk trot canter and do poles . Great in open fields . Not strong or silly . He loves attention and will be somebody’s best friend when he lets you in. He has the funniest personality.

**He does have hindlimb PSD (had shockwave therapy and rehabbed ) he went away for this and they are happy to provide a reference for anyone seriously interested.This is reflected in the price .

A mother daughter share maybe .

Up to date with everything .

More info on request – lots of videos and photos available

10* home for this boy . Tack available separately

Lovely genuine chap who has spent his life hacking and hunting in Ireland. Major is nicely bred on both sides being an old fashioned 50/50 ID X TB.

He is a lovely hack both alone and in company. Happy to go first or last and not strong or silly but with enough engine that he’s nicely forward thinking, he rides off seat/leg or voice aids. Excellent in traffic.

He is still a little green in the school and would benefit from further schooling if he’s going to go on to do a proper job. Major has a forward thinking attitude without actually going anywhere, he stays in a good rhythm but now needs to learn to hold his own balance and body when being asked to go in circles, he’s coming on every day and is keen to please.

He’s brave and got lots of jump and would be fun if produced on to take eventing or show jumping. He’s got 3 good paces and a scopey jump. There’s a lot to like about this horse, he’s a bit rough round the edges but has loads of potential to be a really lovely chap if given the opportunity.

Lovely gent in and out the stable, good to handle, box, catch, clip etc. He’s a genuine sweet horse who will give someone a lot of fun. Price reflects the fact he is green for his age and makes a slight noise in canter (we think will improve with fitness)

PERLE – Smart, Talented & Ready to Shine

Meet Perle, a stunning 15.2hh, 11-year-old black mare by Opposition Utopia. A real head-turner with the talent to match!

Previously enjoyed as a lovely grandmother/granddaughter share, Perle has experience in Pony Club activities, camps, and rallies, giving her a solid all-round foundation.

Over winter she’s mainly been hacking, and is now back in work on a busy yard to further her education — and she’s loving it! She’s currently jumping double clears at 80cm with plenty of scope to go further.

Highlights:

* Moves beautifully
* Snaffle-mouthed
* Fantastic in traffic
* Good to clip & shoe
* Genuine, kind mare with presence

Perle would make a brilliant partner for a competitive teenager or small adult looking to progress and have fun. She is not suitable for a novice, as she enjoys her job and benefits from a confident rider.

Previously had sweet itch, now successfully managed with the injection — you wouldn’t know.

A lovely, capable mare ready for her next chapter with the right rider.

  • Selle Francaise x Normandy

"Angel of the High Woods" or Angie for short is a 15yr old beautiful bucksin mare. She is a cross between a Selle Francais and a Normandy Cob from the Elevage Jouvin family in Normandy. As such she has the strength and gentle character of the Normandy and the spirit and beauty of the Selle Francaise. Despite being 15 and well broken in; she only has the mileage of a 6 year old and while knowing the basics is rather green. That said she learns quickly and having been brought back into work just recently is progressing well. However she has a strong opinion and needs firm but gentle guiding and instruction from a confident rider which I am not, hence the reason for my reluctant sale. She is not spooked by anything - chickens, goats, cattle, diggers, tractors, dogs, cars not an issue.

Loads impeccably, stands to be washed and feet done. Lives on fresh air - literally grass and hay and the odd carrot.

Currently barefoot but has been shod in the past I believe but her hooves are in excellent condition. Her colour is beautiful with a dark buckskin dapple appearing now in her summer coat. Her movement is lovely and very comfy to ride. She has lived out all her life in large herd and currently is out daytimes and stabled at night. Middle ranking in the herd currently with a gelding and a mare.

Lovely gentle sweet nature on the ground, loves a good scratch and being groomed. Great out on the trail and has popped over a small jump recently. Being buckskin she would make an excellent western trail horse. She has had a western saddle on and has had a little schooling in western that could be continued.

Up to date with shots and worming. Teeth good and recently had her back checked and has no issues.

After fun filled 5 years together it is time for Clover to find a new home, as I wish to do more jumping (specifically XC) and she would now prefer a life with hacking as her main activity.

Clover has been well schooled, responsive to the leg and a forward going mare. She will happily canter out hacking (and come back nicely when asked) or walk along on the buckle. She will hack alone or in company and go first or last.

Clover is a dream to hack. For the last 5yrs she has lived on a working farm and takes it all in her stride; past livestock, farm machinery, on roads, fording rivers and even over the tarpaulin! She will happily hack with dogs and will even give a lift to the little ones when their little legs can't keep up!

She is good to load, clip and is the farrier's favourite horse to shoe. She can be a little grumpy in the stable, as she sees it as her private bedroom. She is up to date with vaccines and has had regular check ups with the dentist, saddler and back lady. She currently has daily regumate (as many mares do).

Currently stabled at night and out with a small herd of mares in the day. In 5 days a week work, so ready to hack all summer long.

Striking 17h, 9-year-old gelding with presence, quality movement, and a lovely, genuine temperament. He’s a beautiful mover with all the attributes to excel in the dressage arena, while also being a versatile and experienced allrounder.

He is kind-natured and straightforward not sharp or nasty in any way making him a pleasure to have around both on the ground and under saddle.
Current owner has disabilities and health issues and he's looked after her since being broken in as a 5y.

He has an impressive and varied CV with his current owner, having taken part in team chasing, unaffiliated eventing, hunter trials, unaffiliated Dr qualifying for the pet plan finals and unaffiliated sj and plenty of general allround riding. All with children, ponies, dogs, youngsters and general family chaos in tow. He has seen a lot and takes everything in his stride due to this.

Originally bought to me to event this season due to owners health, it has become clear that he’s a unique ride who thrives in a one-to-one partnership. He has only ever had one consistent rider, so we are seeking someone willing to invest time in building a strong bond with him. This decision has not been made lightly, but due to the owner’s health circumstances and young family, we feel it is in his best interest to find the right long-term home.
Owner would like to keep in touch.

He is an incredibly smart horse with huge potential — in the right hands, he will go far.
No novices as he is a rangey big moving horse.

He is good to travel, shoe, and clip, and is easy to manage. He would also make a fantastic Riding Club horse for someone wanting a quality, capable partner.

Based in Monmouth.

Serious enquiries only — homes will be vetted as this special horse deserves the very best.
All quality Tack and rugs available at extra cost.
Price neg for quick hassle free sale due to owners health and the right home priority.

Jack ~ Chestnut, Thoroughbred (unraced) gelding, impeccable breeding.

I brought Jack two years ago with the intention of hunting however feel I’ve out horsed myself and it’s time for someone to fulfill his potential.

Jack was professionally broke, and schooled in his previous home however, did not do much so he is very low mileage, in his time with me I have brought him back into work, we have done a lots of hacking, long reining, pole work and started jumping which he is proving to be promising in all areas, he hacks alone or in company, and we’ve done some road work with no problems.

Jack is such a gentleman to handle and do anything with, even with children, will stand for hours to be groomed. Tacked up, vet, farrier, loading etc.

Jack can live in/out, on his own or in company, I find he is at his best in a Heard.

Injections, teeth, worming, feet and physio are all up to date, I had him vetted and he past this can all be seen.

Reason for selling we are on different pages, Jack needs someone who can bring out his full potential as I feel he’s wasted with me, Jack can be abit nappy this is where he needs someone to push him through it’s nothing major, it’s him being abit lazy, he shows massive potential when he’s in work, with bold moves, great outline, and working on his jumping which I feel he will excel with the right person.

I wouldn’t be selling him as a novice ride due to his size, and being abit nappy so will need a confident rider.

Open honest sale, happy to answer any questions.

He will come with full wardrobe, I will only be letting him go to the right home as this is what he deserves.
