Cian, a truly eye-catching 4, rising 5 year-old blue roan cob gelding, currently standing at 15.2hh and still growing. Cian is a real beauty — the classic “leg in each corner” type, with excellent conformation, great bone, and a striking, unusual colour that makes him stand out wherever he goes. He’s the sort of horse that turns heads for all the right reasons, with presence, personality, and a kind eye that reflects his gentle nature.
Cian has the most wonderful temperament. He is a kind, sweet-natured horse who loves attention and is a pleasure to have on the yard. He’s quiet and easy to ride, with a very willing and genuine attitude that makes him a joy to produce and a safe, enjoyable partner for his rider. He works beautifully in a snaffle, and responsive off the leg without ever being sharp or silly. He’s not lazy — he simply gives you a lovely, uncomplicated ride every time you sit on him.
Under saddle, Cian shows great promise for the future. He has been carefully and correctly produced, with a good foundation of schooling on the flat. He moves nicely through three balanced, comfortable paces and is beginning to show a natural softness and rhythm that will only improve with time and experience. Over fences, he is very honest and brave — he takes everything in his stride and enjoys his jumping. He is showing lots of potential for hunting, cross-country, and general all-round riding club activities.
Out hacking, Cian is an absolute star. He goes out alone or in company, is excellent in traffic, and is safe and sensible in open spaces. He will happily go over drains, through puddles, and across fields, always eager to explore and enjoy his surroundings. He’s the kind of horse that makes you look forward to your rides, whether you’re out for a quiet hack or off on a day’s hunting.
Cian would be ideally suited to a wide variety of homes. He would make a super mother–daughter share, a fantastic addition to a riding school, or a brilliant all-rounder for someone wanting a reliable, good-looking partner for hacking, hunting, or local competitions. He’s versatile, genuine, and has a temperament to die for. He’s easy to shoe, box, catch clip, ride and in traffic
