Melman has been competing at BD Elementary(BD HALONA BUBBALICIOUS), training at home up to Advanced Medium with ease.

His main discipline is Dressage, but has done occasional jump/XC schooling which he has been genuine and fun. 

Melman is a true workhorse with a heart of gold. A gentle giant, he is trainable, sensible, and an absolute pleasure to be around. He has a fantastic attitude – not sharp, always willing – and is perfect for a rider looking for a reliable, well-mannered, and established horse.

He hacks confidently alone or in company, is polished at home, and performs consistently in the competition arena. He has also enjoyed some jump schooling and cross-country.

We are much more amateur dressage riders than he is used to and his teaching us the ropes! 

Important note: Melman makes a noise in his wind and is therefore not suited for hunting or sustained fast work. He has, however, passed a full 5-stage vetting for general riding and dressage, which is fully reflected in his value.

Despite this, he remains a fantastic, versatile, and well-established dressage horse, ideal for a rider seeking a safe, trainable, and genuinely enjoyable partner.

The right horse will have these key attributes:

Sound and healthy (no history of laminitis, mud fever or sweet itch) Will live out all year round with both mares and geldings

Happy to work on the lead rein and suitable to be ridden independently by riders of different abilities and confidence levels, including around a course of small jumps

Willing and safe to work in our indoor arena, as well as out hacking and in open spaces

Easy to handle, groom, tack up etc and must be patient and able to stand without fidgeting when mounted and at halt

Our current 6 horses and ponies lead useful, long term working lives at a knowledgeable and dedicated West Oxfordshire equestrian charity.

We have funds available to buy the right horse subject to full vetting and will also consider a long term loan agreement.

Katie K is a lovely, genuine mare with a great brain and plenty of ability. She is a balanced, level ride who moves well and will produce a nice test, correct way of going on the flat. She has scope to burn over a fence and shows real promise for someone wanting to progress.

She has jumping points in Ireland up to 1.10m and remains eligible for British Novice classes here in UK, making her an exciting prospect for someone looking to compete and produce further. Katie has also hunted and completed cross country in Ireland, proving her versatility and bold, willing attitude.

She hacks confidently both alone and in company, and is a straightforward, enjoyable ride. She would suit a competent rider looking for a fun and capable allrounder for riding club activities, grassroots competitions, or British Showjumping.

Katie will happily produce a smart dressage test and has the potential to excel across all disciplines.

She is now looking for a knowledgeable, loving home where she can continue to be enjoyed. Recently sold to a novice home, she was much loved but ultimately proved to be a little too much horse for them.

Super teen or small adults event prospect.

Twix has recently been imported from Ireland directly from her breeder where she has been all her life. we have had many of her family members through the yard and they have all been cracking horses and she is no exception .

She’s had a great start and is now ready to find her perfect match here and give someone a lot of fun. She is an uncomplicated girl who wants to please and isn’t mareish. She’s got three good paces with an exceptional balanced canter, she’s got natural changes and is very athletic. She needs a bit more flat work to be test ready but tries to please and has good obedient transitions and is nice in the hand. Twix is very brave to jump and is schooling round 90cm SJ fences and has been XC schooling both with us and in Ireland. She’s very brave not bothered by ditches, water etc. and loves it, she will be a super BE grass roots prospect or do all PC and RC very well, I can see her doing PC/RC teams etc. She’s still a bit weak and has got a lot of filling out to do but will turn in to a lovely model.

She hacks alone and in company and is good in traffic. Nice person in and out the stable, she’s still green and learning about life and as long as things are introduced to her without stress she’s good and as such has been green but good to clip and shoe. Excellent to catch, load, etc. she will suit a competent teen or small adult to bring on further and have loads of fun with, she’s a real try hard and we all love her here.
