Imported from Ireland as a rising 4yo.

Has previously won at BD Prelim.  He’s a lovely, boy who gives his best, but he’s much more at home hacking than schooling. Good in traffic, enjoys a steady pace and is happiest exploring the lanes, fields, and bridleways.

Stabled on a small farm so use to tractors, busy roads seen lorries, dogs, he takes it all in his stride. Hacks alone or in company. He’s a sweet, willing lad who would suit a confident, sympathetic rider wanting a safe hacking partner with some schooling ability.

He does pop a jump, but due to a hind leg injury, (latest scans available to buyer to view) is now suited to hacking and light schooling only. Currently being ridden three times a week. He’s sound and happy in this lifestyle.

Good to clip, catch, farrier, teeth, fully Vaccinated, lives in/out. loads/travels well either trailer/lorry, easy to handle, loves fuss.

Home very important than price, Happy to discuss injury to buyer.

ISH looking for quiet hacking home

Ref #: 401394
  • Hacks alone & in company, can be very forward
  • Loyal companion horse
  • Suit experienced home with grass turnout and small herd
£2,000 OIRO
  • Irish Sports Horse
  • Coloured
  • Gelding
  • 14 years
  • 15.2 hands
  • Hacks alone & in company, can be very forward
  • Loyal companion horse
  • Suit experienced home with grass turnout and small herd

Due to daughter's study commitments and leaving for university we are rehoming our handsome gelding Ozzie.

- Needs a knowledgeable, patient and competent rider/handler, preferably 18+.
- Sensitive horse that prefers a quieter environment and constant equine companionship
- Once warmed up Ozzie is a nice forward ride. Enjoys hacking in woodland and fields, best in company - keen to canter at the head of a group. Can nap while hacking alone if unsure, takes confidence from his rider. Can be lead past any issues and carry on.
- Schools nicely on an even surface, will pop a few jumps. Unfortunately no longer enjoys a show/competition environment.
- Never bolted or reared.
- Full history known. We have owned Ozzie nearly 5 years, only 1 previous owner.

- Currently out on grass in the day/in at night but could live out 24/7 on grass with field shelter and one or more companions.
- Very loyal companion horse, can be turned out with mares and geldings. Finds being on his own stressful, prone to separation anxiety. Happiest when turned out daily in company, and able to have visual and physical contact with stable neighbours (e.g. through bars).

- Up to date with vaccinations, wormer, farrier, dental and saddle checks.
- Good for farrier, vet, dentist.

- Has been barefoot for 2 years, wears boots on fronts for hacking on hard ground. Could be shod in new home if necessary.

- History of glandular ulcers, since scoped clear. Managed with turnout and constant access to forage and company.
- Diagnosed with arthritic joint in neck 2 years ago. Easily managed with twice yearly steroid injections to maintain comfort and suppleness.
- Full vet records at Bell Equine can be disclosed, vet is happy to discuss any concerns.
- Comes with Agria lifetime equine policy in place (unfortunately neck injections are not covered)

- No trailers. In previous home travelled on 7.5t lorry with company. He has only travelled a few times in a 3.5t box while we have owned him, as we do not have our own transport and have excellent facilities/hacking at the livery yard. Loaded and travelled ok with vet sedation when necessary. Loading onto 3.5t improved with professional help and this could be worked on further.
- Good on quiet roads, used to cars, vans etc. Familiar with yard vehicles such as JCBs, forklift truck, tractors. Good with dogs.

Ozzie will make a lovely ridden horse to someone who is prepared to give him time to settle in and do the positive training required to get the best from him.

- Comes with tack and boots (fronts)
- Right home more important than price
- Can be viewed at livery yard in Bexley/Sidcup (South East London/Kent border, can be accessed via non ULEZ road)

- No loans, LWVTB or trials. No dealers.

Meet Robby – The Ultimate Schoolmaster & Confidence Giver

Robby is a lovely 17-year-young, 16.2hh Maxi Cob gelding looking for a kind and knowledgeable home where he can enjoy happy hacking, hunting and fun days out.

A genuine schoolmaster and nanny horse, Robby has taught countless riders over the years. He is a real confidence giver and an easy, enjoyable ride. Anyone can hack him out and he has safely introduced many people to riding and hunting. He loves beach rides, pub rides, and a day out with the hounds, and has given many riders their first enjoyable days hunting.

He does require a little management once a year to keep him comfortable. X-rays have shown slight navicular changes in his near fore. His coffin joint has been injected and he wears pads in front. He is currently sound, happy and still enjoying his job, with no reason he couldn’t do a few more seasons.

Please note: Robby will not pass a full vetting, so please don’t enquire if this is essential. However, he passes the veterinary inspection every year for my riding school licence and continues to work happily.

Important:
• No time wasters
• No loans or payment plans
• Not for someone wanting to jump grassroots
• No one wanting to bring trainers – he is not going to a schooling home

Normal, genuine homes only please.

Transport can be arranged and part exchange may be considered. Priced realistically for a quick, straightforward sale, but he will not be given away.

Reason for sale: The hirelings weren’t busy enough this season so I’m rethinking my career and moving some of my older horses on to loving, knowledgeable homes.

Blue Cross George

Ref #: 402773

  • TB x
  • Bay
  • Gelding
  • 4 years
  • 14.2 hands
  • Non ridden companion
  • Can live out 24/7
  • Looking for a loving home

- Based in Northamptonshire on our Home2Home scheme -

George is a cheeky young gelding looking for a new adoptive home due to a change in his loaners circumstances. He has blossomed into a loving, people-oriented companion who thrives on attention and enjoys being the centre of fuss. Although he is a non-ridden companion due to poor conformation, he would love a home where he can take part in in-hand agility, groundwork, and regular walks to keep his active mind engaged!

He has always lived with geldings and would benefit from a playful young. George can live out full time or part stable and is good to rug, making him adaptable to different routines. He is currently living with Bear, who is also advertised on Home2Home; they could be rehomed together if desired, but this is not essential.

As a young horse, George is still learning to stand quietly for the vet and farrier and can be slightly fidgety, so an experienced and patient handler would help him continue to mature at his own pace. He would suit a home where he has consistent equine and human companionship, offering plenty of love and character in return.

Please adopt George
