Meet Bruce
11year old 16.1

Flashing dark bay/black thoroughbred.

Finished racing 2023

Same home since, has done abit of everything and is a total poppet to deal with.

Unfortunately he now has a heart murmur and therefore current owners have decided they wish for him to be sold as a companion or could be a fantastic ROR in hand showing horse. He moves beautifully.

He passed a 5-stage vetting when we purchased him in 2023 and no murmur was detected at that time.

To ride ( while we don't wish to carry on) if you so wish to that would be at your discretion.

He's a fantastic soul. We are asking a very small donation to a secure a fantastic home for him. Please call for any questions

Dave – 16.1hh British Sport Horse Gelding, 5yrs

Dave is a super quality young horse with a very exciting future ahead of him. Homebred and broken last year, he has been slowly and professionally produced, giving him the best possible start. Now ready to continue his education, he shows all the attributes to make a fantastic event horse.

He has three balanced, uphill paces and a bold, scopey jump that comes very naturally. He has already been XC schooling where he proved brave, willing, and uncomplicated — happily popping ditches, steps, water and skinnies. Combined with his careful technique and enthusiasm, he shows huge potential for eventing.

On the ground he is excellent to do in every way – good to catch, clip, shoe, load, and travel. He has a kind temperament, loves attention, and is easy to have on the yard.

Dave is a talented, genuine youngster who is now ready to start his competitive career and will no doubt make someone a brilliant partner for the future.

A very honest advert.

I am ashamed to admit that I do not have the time, money or grass (!) that Arthur needs and I’m seeing if the perfect person is out there for him.

I have had him from a two year old (over from Ireland) and backed him myself. He was always the reliable old head on young shoulders. I used to lead an unbacked 3 year old mare from him as a freshly backed 4 year old.

However over the last year he’s been dealt a rough hand physically and I have recently had a baby, culminating in him having a lot of time off and me having no time to properly give him any attention. He’s gone back in his shell and lost the bond we had which I’m so sad about. He is an introvert and a sensitive soul despite his size and could really do with some 1-to-1. I have two other horses and really struggle to do more than turn in and out with him.

He is currently recovering from a tendon injury, he is field sound but could do with more time off / out I think before being brought back into work. All other veterinary history will be disclosed to any potential homes.

Come spring I’m sure he would be straightforward to bring back into work and hopefully be able to enjoy life ambling around the country side. He is not built for speed really so someone who likes a slower pace of life would be great.

I realise this is the worst time of year to find homes but I physically don’t have enough grass or money for hay to keep him myself. Really hoping he can find his miracle person.

Has travelled in a 3.5ton, trailer and bigger Lorrie’s without a problem.
