Loan / Lease: Ponies

Our handsome and kind pony is looking for a knowledgeable home for loan.

  • Reliable, honest and kind pony
  • Hunted and pony club, on and off lead rein
  • Requires further education
Sunny is the kindest, honest and safe pony with a wonderful temperament. Sadly our 7 year old daughter is taking a break from riding and so we are looking to find a knowledgeable family to loan him to who will enjoy him as much as we have and further his education.

Sunny is a handsome dapple grey, 12.2, welsh pony, who has relatively low miles on the clock and has been in our family for the last three years. As well as pony club rallies and competitions both on and off the lead rein, he has experience hunting (again on and off the lead rein) and has jumped up to 40cm but in the correct hands I am sure capable of much more.

He is a smart pony with four legs in each corner, who has never had any health issues. His vaccinations are fully up to date as are his teeth checks. He is low maintenance and a dream to look after; happy living in or out, and easy to load.

Our daughter stopped riding a few months ago and rather than letting him sit in a field, we decided to send him away and has been ridden by a competent 9 year old who has bought him on enormously with the help of an instructor. He needs further schooling and miles on the clock. He is a quick learner and everything that has ever been asked of him to do he has done with ease.

We are looking for a confident young rider to take up the reins. We require a knowledgeable home, and any potential loan home would be fully vetted in person.

Please see videos of him jumping and schooling with a 9 year old riding him.

Mona and Inka are a mother daughter duo who came into the centre in March 2025. They are looking for a home where they can stay together.

Mona is a lovely little Shetland pony with a kind heart and gentle spirit, now looking for a special home to call her own. She has a calm temperament and enjoys the company of both people and other ponies. Mona is well-mannered and would make a wonderful companion pony.

Inka loves attention, enjoys being groomed, and gets along well with other ponies. She’s ideal for a family with experience in caring for ponies or a companion home where she can enjoy a peaceful and loving environment.

Due their type they do require restricted grazing. They are currently out during the day and in overnight on a woodchip area.

Can you offer Mona and Inka a loving home together?

Aria is a sweet young pony who recently came to us via the RSPCA. She’s still settling into her new surroundings and learning to trust, but she’s already showing a lovely nature.

She’s very much a 1-1 pony! She really enjoys gentle scratches and is starting to appreciate a good groom. As she’s still a baby, she’s in the early stages of her training, including getting used to having her feet handled. We're working towards her seeing the farrier soon.

Aria can be a little unsure at times, so she needs a calm and consistent person to help her build confidence. She would thrive living with other young ponies, especially those with good manners who can help her learn the ropes.

She currently lives out 24/7 and has only been stabled for short periods, so an environment that mirrors this setup would suit her best.

Aria has lots of potential and will make a rewarding companion for someone willing to take things at her pace.

As he’s still a baby, continued groundwork and education are essential to help him develop into a safe, well mannered pony for children. With the right training, he has the potential to become a superb child's riding pony. Kind, sensible, and a pleasure to handle.

He currently lives out 24/7 but is happy to stable with company. Having been recently castrated, he will need to live with geldings only for a few months before he can safely be reintroduced to mares if needed.

Chameau is looking for a knowledgeable and loving home that can give him the time, patience, and training he needs.

Blue Cross Peru

Ref #: 373365

£400 plus VAT
  • Welsh Section A

  • 2 years
  • 11.1 hands
  • Potential kids or project pony
  • Good temperament and enjoys being groomed
  • Can live out, but is also able to be stabled part-time with company next door.

Peru is a delightful young gelding with a heart full of potential and a soft, gentle nature that shines brighter each day. Recently castrated and currently living happily with other geldings, Peru is well on his way to growing into a confident, friendly pony. Perfect for someone looking to offer love, guidance, and friendship to a youngster.

Though he can be a little shy at first, Peru is making great progress in building trust and confidence. He’s responsive in hand for his age, enjoys a good scratch and full body groom, and is very good about having his feet picked out. He’s a sweetheart who really loves human attention once he knows you're kind and gentle.

He's happy living out but is also content to come into the stable part time with company next door. Peru is working on rebuilding confidence with the vet following his castration, but he’s doing better with every visit and always tries his best. He’s cooperative for the farrier too, just needs a little reassurance due to his age.

With his calm, affectionate nature and willingness to learn, Peru shows lovely potential as a lead rein pony in the future, or for in-hand showing. He would also make a perfect companion to other young ponies, especially in a quiet, nurturing home where he can continue to blossom.

Could you be the one to give Peru the confidence and companionship he needs to thrive?

Steve is a sweet natured Shetland gelding recently transferred from the RSPCA and is now ready to find his perfect match.

Late gelded, Steve needs to live with geldings only. He’s settled in beautifully with his current herd and is bonding well.

Steve is good to catch and enjoys being groomed. He is generally good for both the vet and farrier, though he would benefit from some ongoing training when it comes to picking up his feet and farrier visits.

Seeking a new loving family to call his own!

Elliot is sadly for sale due to a very outgrown rider.

A super smart and safe pony who loves to jump and is quick against the clock.

He would suit a confident child as a second pony, he is forward but has good brakes.

He has genuinely never put a foot wrong in the almost 4yrs we have owned him and my daughter has enjoyed him and learnt so much from him.

He has taken her from a confident walk, trot and canter rider to jumping over 80cms.

Rarely out of the ribbons and an absolute saint to take out to events which has mostly been SJ. Has also been to numerous pony camps, ODE’s, XC courses, training events etc. Also happily hacks out with or without others, is bombproof in traffic but does prefer to lead.

Is handled in every way by a very tall now 12yr old and now needs his next small person to have fun with and show the ropes.

So many videos available documenting their journey.

Will be sold with all tack, rugs, boots etc.

Would also consider him going to a new home on loan.

Ice arrived through a private intake, having been rescued alongside the RSPCA. She’s still settling in and is already showing promise.

She is easy to catch and, while she’s a bit unsure with her feet, she’s making great progress with farrier training. With minimal handling in her past, she’s ready to continue building confidence.

Ice has the potential to be a future ridden pony once she’s older, making her an exciting project for someone experienced and patient.

  • Experienced foaling home required

!Pregnant Mare! Marmalade is seeking a short-term loan home with proven foaling experience as she prepares to welcome her little one into the world Summer/Autumn time.

We’re looking for an experienced, safe environment where she’ll live with other mares and foals, ideally due around the same time or already foaled with an established nursery herd. Also due to Marmalades size we are seeking a home that has other native ponies.

Marmalades short-term stay would last until weaning time for the foal - approximately 9 to 12 months, with the potential for long-term options via our Home2Home adoptions initiative. Depending on the fit, Marmalade or her foal may remain with the current loan home permanently or seek new families separately at the time of weaning.

We’re looking for the right placement within 1 hour radius of our Burford centre!

If you think you can offer Marmalade and her foal the best start to life, please apply for Marmalade!

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.
