Dusty is a lovely, gentle pony that really loves children and can give them confidence in all pony activities.

She is great on the flat and over jumps and has no vices. Dusty has done lots of unaffiliated jumping and dressage, winning at 60cm and 70cm and consistently scoring 65%-70% at dressage. She loves her cross country. At home her flat work has progressed to extended trot, flying changes, and walk to canter. Has been on fun rides, jumping everything and never had a day lame.
She is an absolute pleasure to have on the yard, and the perfect second pony. Travels well, great for the farrier.

Would make a great pony for all pony club activities

 Princess Lexie – A Once-in-a-Lifetime, Coloured 12-Year-Old Mare, 14.2hh
A true schoolmistress • Confidence giver • Mother’s dream

Princess Lexie is exactly what her name suggests — an absolute princess and a rare gem of a horse. At 12 years old, this beautifully marked coloured mare has proven herself time and time again to be a one-in-a-million partner for riders of all ages and abilities.

? Temperament & Handling

Lexie is an angel in every way. She has the kindest, sweetest nature and is a complete pleasure to have on the yard. Her manners are impeccable — quiet and easy to shoe, box, catch, clip, ride, and handle in all situations, including busy traffic and new environments. She has a wonderfully willing temperament and shines brightest when she is building confidence in her rider.

Ridden regularly by novice students, Lexie takes everything in her stride. She is calm, forgiving, and always looks after her rider, even in tricky moments. The epitome of safety and steadiness, she truly is a confidence giver and an ideal mother–daughter share.

Riding & Performance

Princess Lexie is a true schoolmistress with experience across multiple disciplines:

• Cross Country:

Her absolute favourite job! Lexie loves XC — always taking every jump in her stride, always honest, and always eager. She has a natural enthusiasm for fences, takes everything on with pricked ears, and always makes sure to carry her rider safely to the other side.

• Show Jumping:

Schooled over coloured poles and happily jumping up to 80cm here. She would be the perfect pony to take a child from cross poles to more technical courses with confidence and fun.

• Flatwork:

Beautifully schooled on the flat, with three balanced, expressive paces and a super straight way of going. She has the presence and movement to shine in show classes.

• Hacking & Pleasure Riding:

A dream hack — relaxed, reliable, and unfazed by traffic. Happy to go out alone or in company.

• Previous Experience:

Has hunted, taken part in hunter trials, and enjoyed pony club activities. She is versatile and willing, making her suitable for almost any loving home.

? Conformation & Type

Lexie is extremely well put together — a proper model of a mare with good bone, substance, and an eye-catching coat pattern. She is beautifully marked and stands out wherever she goes.

Ideal Home

She would be an outstanding fit for:

A novice rider
A mother–daughter share
A riding school looking for a safe, quality mare
A pony club home
A fun, happy-hacking home
A family searching for a trustworthy, kind partner

Lexie has no stable vices, is open to any vetting, and comes with complete peace of mind.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Thistledown Arctic Monkey is a truly exceptional children’s pony. A 14-year-old Welsh Section B gelding, Monkey has made so many dreams come true, but it is now sadly time for him to go and teach his next young rider the ropes.

He is straightforward, kind, beautifully mannered and will give even the smallest, most nervous jockey total confidence — even in the busiest of rings.

Many people will remember Monkey at HOYS 2023, when my daughter decided to stand on him and salute because she didn’t want the judge getting bored seeing the same show as everyone else! Monkey stood like a rock, as he always does — the perfect example of the saintly temperament he is known for.

He has qualified for HOYS and RI eight times, competing in the Lead Rein, First Ridden and 122 SHP classes. Monkey has too many wins to mention them all, but his record includes:
• 8 × HOYS & RI Qualifications
• Winner at Windsor
• Qualified HOYS/RI as a First Ridden on his first attempts (only his 1st and 4th show with us)
• 2 × Royal Welsh 122 SHP Winner
• WPCS Performance Show Mini WHP Champion
• Won several Dressage classes
• Attended Pony Camp
• Enjoys Showjumping
• HOYS Consistency Points Winner
• Placed in all classes at BSPS / NPS Champs
• Jumps quietly and safely around Cradle Stakes tracks

Monkey is the pony every family wishes they had. He hacks for hours alone or in company, attends Pony Club and loves every minute. He’s always the first to greet you at the gate, and he is easy whether picked up, put down, ridden daily or left a few weeks — he simply fits into family life and makes everything easy and fun.

He can be fully cared for by children without a second thought. He will stand for hours to be groomed, bathed, tacked up, and is even clipped by my 13-year-old daughter. He’s frequently involved in TikToks, makeovers, brushing sessions and being turned into a unicorn! Even the non-horsey grandparents can lead him in and out, hold him at shows and take him for a little walk while the girls ride.

He is honestly the happiest, friendliest, most people-loving pony we’ve ever known — you cannot help but fall in love instantly.

Monkey has no vices — he does not nap, rear, buck, etc. However, he would eat himself to death if given half a chance! He has had laminitis in the past so he needs a family who can help him make good life choices. This is totally manageable with a simple routine (basically he’s not allowed on the big field (10acres) when the grass is at its sweetest but we are very happy to discuss this.

Monkey is truly a family favourite and this is a heartbreaking sale. He is ready to go and make another child’s dreams come true, just as he has done for ours.

5?, knowledgeable home essential.

Available after London.

This pony can take a young rider very quickly to Elementary Level or beyond! Absolutely super training companion. Does lateral work in canter, ready for pirouttes and single changes, very easy to collect, excellent canter work and subtlety.

Has competed National Pony Classes on Elementary Level in Finland and just before we moved to UK got an invitation to train with the National Pony Team.

He has a huge heart and is easy to handle. Has always lived next to mares and young stock. You can walk him past mares along the stable corridor no bother.

He would also be an excellent Dutch line breeding stallion for a pony breeder. He behaves like a true gentleman when serving mares. Bred himself by the number 1 breeder in Finland. His father competed Internationally and was bought to Germany.

This beautiful pony is looking for a new home as the rider has started university and cannot find time for him anymore. Very sad sale as he truly is a rare gem!

Chance
16-year-old mare, 14.2hh

Chance is a forward-going, fun, and speedy pony who knows her job and loves to work. She has brakes but can be strong, so she's not suitable for a novice rider. That said, she is an absolute sweetheart on the ground – kind, affectionate, and a real pleasure to have around the yard.

We've had some amazing times with Chance and she will be very much missed. However, at 16, we feel she now deserves a more varied, lower-level home where she can enjoy all-round activities rather than focusing solely on jumping.

She has mainly competed in BS showjumping with us and her previous owner, but also adores cross-country, arena eventing, hacking, and fun rides. She hacks alone or in company, happily goes first or last, and is completely unbothered.

Up to date with teeth, vaccinations, physio, etc.

Great with the farrier, breeze to clip, loads and travels beautifully, and will stand quietly on the lorry.

This is a very special pony, and finding the right home is our top priority – all homes will be vetted.

Jemima – 13.2hh New Forest Mare

After two wonderful years Jemima has very sadly been outgrown (we had hoped it would be longer but alas my son is growing like a weed!) We are now seeking a five-star, loving home for this very special pony, where she will want for nothing.

Jemima is a 16-year-old (2009), 13.2hh dark bay registered New Forest mare. She would make a fantastic second pony for a confident rider who enjoys a forward, fun ride.

She’s a genuine all-rounder with heaps of experience at pony club, riding club, camps, stay-away shows, and family holidays. We haven’t done much dressage – it’s not really my sons thing, but plenty of SJ, XC, arena eventing, barrel racing, and a little mounted games etc. She has also hunted in a previous home. Jemima is happiest popping around courses of 60–75cm with great success. She will jump bigger at home but may struggle with the spreads on 80cm+ in competition (venue dependant). She doesn’t need to be ridden every day and is the same whether ridden once or 5 times a week. That said, Jemima loves an active varied life and would be wasted in a field being a happy hacker at weekends.

2025 Highlights
Horsford & District Riding Club 2025 league
• 70cm SJ League - 2nd
• Junior Barrels Fastest Run of the season
• Junior Barrels - 1st
• Open Game - 1st
• Overall Barrel Points - 1st
Other 2025 highlights also include attending the Pony Club Barrier Animal Health Spring Festival Arena Eventing champs, also qualifying for the BRC Winter Novice SJ Champs (taking place next Spring).

2024 Highlights:

Sunshine Tour Championships (huge classes of approx 65 competitors)
• Supreme Champ 50/55 – 1st & 3rd
• 55cm – 5th & 5th
• 60cm – 4th
• 65cm – 3rd & 9th
• Supreme Champ 60/65 – 4th
• Jumped 9 rounds across the weekend – 8 clear!

Horsford & District Riding Club 2024 league
• Overall Junior Points Winner
• Junior Barrels Fastest Run of the Season
• Junior Barrels – 2nd
• Open Games – 2nd
• 55cm Speed Stakes SJ League – 3rd
• 60cm SJ League – 5th
• 70cm SJ League – 6th

On the ground, Jemima is an absolute sweetheart – easy to catch, groom, tack up, lead, shoe (happy barefoot or shod), and she travels well in both lorry (3.5t & 7.5t) and trailer. She is equally happy to live out or be stabled. Vaccinations and dental are up to date (due Jan 2026). She requires sedation for clipping and may occasionally pull a face when her girth is tightened – but she has no vices, she does not rear, kick, bite or buck.

She is safe in open spaces – although keen and forward. If your child is frightened of speed she's not the pony for you! Jemima is excellent to hack both alone and in company, and is used to heavy village traffic including buses, lorries, tractors and more, making her a truly reliable partner.

She comes with her saddle, 2 bridles, and an extensive collection of rugs & boots.

Forward-going, fun second pony
Proven competition record

Never bolted or reared
Safe to hack alone/in company & traffic-proof
Happy living out or stabled
Excellent to handle and travel
Turns out with mares and geldings

£7750 including full wardrobe
Burgh Castle, NR31

We would love for Jemima to go to another Pony Club / Riding Club home and we will definitely want to stay in touch!

42" Shetland gelding. Alfie came to us over 2 years ago and boy has he given my grand children then 2 and 3 years old lots of confidence and every opportunity from showing to hacking in the forest to SJ rallies fancy dress he’s been a super star.

Previously he did a bit of pony racing but he stepped down and looked after the little ones so they could learn to rise and trot and canter on the lead.

If you are looking for that very first safe pony to teach you the ropes he’s the one.

Good in every way farrier other ponies physio dentist vet for jabs farm traffic.

We have loads of videos and photos of our adventures with Alfie he’s been a really kind pony for the grandchildren to have fun on.

He’s not cheap for the reason he’s safe.

Pumpkin is a genuine super cob, he’s has been and done everything the perfect childhood pony to dream about. He’s a finer sporty cob who is perfectly responsive so not your average kick along (don’t get me wrong he’s as safe as they come he’s just does actually do as he’s asked to on the first time of asking).

Pumpkin has 3 beautiful and correct paces with great conformation he’s definitely not your usual cob. He is extremely affectionate and will stand and to fussed all day by everyone, and anyone. He has seen every kind of traffic and isn’t fazed by anything in the slightest. He would suit a pony club home with a family who will enjoy everything he has to offer, and give a child a pony to grow with and give them a lot of fun and confidence for their first or second pony.

-Dream sporty cob
-Bombproof forward going ride that you dont have to keep kicking along

-Good to shoe, catch and clip

Pumpkin is ready and waiting to find his next family to share all his love and affection with. Based in Wiltshire.

Diese Star/ Olaf - 12.2hh (128cm) 22 years young. The time has come to find Olaf a new home as our daughter is growing out of him fast.

Olaf has taken our daughter to Hickstead, qualifying for both the 85cm arena cross and 70cm show jumping in the NSEA championships and they came 2nd individually in the 70cm show jumping finals! Olaf also enjoys eventing at they managed 5th place at the pony club regional championships at Kelsall Hill jumping a double clear. Last season he was jumping 90cm courses easily and won at some local competitions , we have kept the height down this season as our daughter is quite big on him now but he would happily go back to jumping 90cm with a smaller jockey. Before he came to us he quite a successful BS career, his BS number is 387142 if you want to look at his results.

Olaf would suit a young competent rider wanting to go down the BS route or be very competitive at pony club/local events.. He is very fast in the jump offs and generally careful too. He's very brave and never refuses a jump, not at all spooky just gets on with the job. Whilst at the competitions he behaves impeccably.

Absolutely bullet proof in all traffic including tractors, trucks etc. Not bothered by cows, sheep or donkeys!

Olaf is quite bold but as long as the jockey is up for it he with take them around a course beautifully. Never had a lame/sick day in the whole time we've had him. Amazing feet.

He is up to date with vaccinations, teeth and back have been done in the last month.

Will come with fitted saddle, bridle and some rugs.

Home is very important for this special pony.

We've got hundreds of pictures and videos which i can share.
