Good with other horses. Hacks out in traffic.

Good to shoe, clip and loads into a lorry. You can Ride and lead another off her and vice versa.

VERY sad sale of a much loved Pony Club pony...

Joey is a fun 14hh, 8 year old skewbald cob (sporty cob), he has been in the same home since a 5 year old.

He regularly attends Pony Club lessons and rallies.
He has stayed away at camp and behaved impeccably.
He regularly competes unaffiliated show jumping up to 80cm and brings home lots of rosettes.
He will jump 90cm at home.
He has competed at 70cm hunter trials as well as doing lots of XC schooling, proving to be brave and bold.

He is good to hack alone and in company and is 100% in traffic.
He is regularly hacked on his own by a teenager for hours.
He enjoys fun rides and being out on the moors.
He is keen and forward going and he can be strong so he isn't suited to a novice rider. However, he is snaffle mouthed and is ridden by a confident teenager.
He likes to be busy and out doing lots so he would be suited to a confident teenager, Pony Club home or small adult to compete and have fun on.

He lives in or out, on his own or in company.
He can be a bit grumpy in the stable and can be strong on the ground but this is easily managed.
Good to catch, shoe, clip, load, travel, bath etc.
Up to date with teeth, physio, vaccinations etc.

Good trial facilities and lots of photos and videos on request.

Price to include tack and rugs.

Open to vetting.

Devon based.

Super smart Dun Irish Cob Gelding standing 14.2hh and rising 4yrs.

Very correct stamp with a good straight movement and a scopey jump.

Recently broken by ourselves and is hacking alone and in company, schooling and popping fences in the arena.

To ride he is very straight forward, he enjoys his work and wants to please.

He has hunted with the Leitrim Harriers for a few hours on two occasions and was fantastic each time. He was mannerly, patient and sensible, he jumped ditches and fences.

He is an honest lad who is capable of being a quality allrounder, from dressage to hunting we can see him doing very well in most spheres.

He should make between 14.3hh-15hh and is ready for someone to continue his education and put their stamp on.

Please call for a chat about him, lots of videos and more pics available via Whatsapp.

Sweetest, cuddliest gelding

Ref #: 324854

  • Kind, Safe, non spooky, mini cob with gorgeous full mane & feather
  • Absolutely loves hacking, has driven, no problem with country lanes or main roads!!

Gorgeous, piebald mini cob gelding.

Special 5 star home sort for Sam… he has been working in my small riding school for over a year, in this time he has taken part in a range of activities including pony days, gymkhanas, hacking, group lessons, and has particularly been an asset to the school program we coach for children with various special needs as he is always calm and gentle.

Most of his work here has been on the lead rein, he will walk, trot and even canter on lead rein, never spooky or silly, used to all farm
Machinery, dogs, animals, He hacks alone or incompany with novices off and on lead rein and my 6 year old canters him down the fields on her own, he also does ride and lead.

The but….. there are two things in life Sam just does not all together understand the point of doing!!
one is going round the arena solo without his leader, although he tries hard without a stong rider he will just stop.( he was mostly driven before he came to us so he just doesn’t get schooling in circles!)

He is also not what I would class as one of life’s jumpers, again he will happily go over poles and attempt x- poles but he will not take you round a showjumping course.

Other than that he is a superstar, he is a safe, kind pony that the smallest of children can lead, bath, plait, dress up,(he has the best mane!)
basically do anything with!

Anybody can ride him on lead rein it doesn’t matter if your noisy or wobbling, and he absolutely loves hacking, I believe he is also a good driving pony as this is what he mostly did before coming to me.

He has no known health issues or vices, is upto date with routine teeth, back, feet, wormers , vaccinations and last month passed the vetting for our riding school inspection no problem!

Excellent to bath, clip, catch, lives with mares

& geldings, un shod with good hard hooves! Sad sale only as I need a jumping pony for lessons that enjoys the school more than sammy, will go the the best home only!

  • FOR SALE FROM FIELD BEFORE WE TURN AWAY FOR WINTER
  • Stunning Movement
  • Absolute Pleasure to own

Gracie is a rising 8 year old TGCA mare. She is one of the nicest ponies I have ever had the pleasure knowing. She loves fuss and attention, will stand for hours to be pampered and is just stunning to look at.

Having Gracie at home has been so easy, she is respectful, not really bothered about being in a paddock on her own, and is totally dog proof. Not a kick or bite in her.

She has had a foal which tragically died at 3 months, so was out of proper work for about 18 months. She has now been professionally brought back into work over the last 4 weeks so that she can go on and find her forever home. It was always our intention to find her a forever home, and by sending her away to a professional yard we feel we have given her everything she needs to be amazing in whatever she does.

She was previously driven, and I have videos to show this along with videos of her now working beautifully. She would easily show.

Although 14.3h she carries an adult well, and does not have a choppy pony trot.

We genuinely will only let her go to the right home. An experienced home to now put some mileage on her and get her out and about.

We have an ID colt here at home so keeping them separate is required, which obviously will become a problem when seasons start, or until our colt is gelded next spring.

Genuine homes only. No novice homes unless support is available. With a competent helper she will blossom. Sold at this price now due to lack of time. Will keep and bring back in next spring if not sold.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Richard & Daisy Trayford have been been producing horses together for over two decades - in the UK & USA(Exmoor Eventing) and in Ireland where we live. We are now assisting international buyers during their search for quality Irish horses.

More & more buyers and sellers are doing business online - having us, based in the centre of Ireland, gives buyers a speedy and cost effective way of getting to a prospect quickly.

We charge a flat fee ie no commission is taken from either the buyer or seller. We simply represent the buyer who may not be able to try the horse themselves due to work/time/travel constraints.
Our clients get a great service from us for a very modest fee - €200 covers us visiting a yard (no extra if we see multiple horses at one location!) - we take extensive video, try the horse(s) and complete a detailed, unbiased report, which is sent to the potential buyer. We can attend a vetting as well if the client choses.

Our mission is to take any perceived risk out of horse shopping online!

Once the client receives satisfactory feedback on a horse or horses they are welcome to either proceed to an offer -we can even do that on their behalf if they prefer -and/or visit the horse themselves.

Out of HOYS placed Highland mare, Dunedin Fenella, by a traditional cob

Honey is a total pleasure to have and ride

Broken last winter as a 4yo and then turned away due to my commitments. She was brought back into work and hacked about through the summer

She has attended 3 shows, two smaller local shows, and then thrown in the deep end at Bucks County show where she behaved impeccably for her age/experience to finish 2nd in a very strong class collecting her RIHS 2024 ticket (she is sold with the ride)

I truly believe Honey has what it takes to go all the way in the show ring, she is top quality with a fabulous temperament

Incredibly bold mare, will hack alone and in company and is absolutely fine in traffic

She schools sweetly, very genuine and loves her work

She is a beautiful mover with fabulous paces- keeps up walking out with our heavyweight hunters!

Has recently started jumping under saddle, proving bold and keen.

Also been ridden by an 11yo girl, and her mother has hacked her out! True Mother/Daughter share

I am sure I will regret this for a long time to come but with youngsters coming up through I need to be sensible

Bear - 13h 3 (rising 4yo) gelding.

Sweetest nature and lovely & polite to handle.

Good to catch (walks to you in the field), good with his feet, farrier, groom, tack up etc. Never grumpy - he really loves attention.

Walks, trots, canters sensibly in the school. Snaffle mouth, no gadgets, he listens and tries his best at anything asked of him. Pops a jump and hacks out sensibly too, has seen traffic.

Safe enough that I trust my 6yo to walk him around without being led.

Definitely has potential to be produced for showing or an allround Pony Club pony as he shows promise with jumping but equally will be happy as a happy hacker/allrounder. Not sharp, he genuinely has been the easiest youngster to work with.

A really nice pony for someone to put their stamp on and show him more of the world.

Confidence giving Allrounder wanted

Ref #: 323240
  • 5* home in Oxfordshire waiting
  • 5* home in Oxfordshire waiting

Wanted for a young adult, experienced rider rebuilding confidence after a bad fall:

  • Mare or gelding, 14.2hh - 15.3hh
  • Age range 6-12yo
  • Breeds: adore IDs! But cobs and Connemaras are also welcome. Temperament is paramount.
  • Something sane and safe, no rearing or bucking. Good ground manners, ok to be turned out with geldings and mares.
  • Allrounder- must be ok to hack alone, be good in traffic and open spaces. Needs to school well and pop a small jump (60-70cm max as I’m not a confident jumper). I’m very much a riding school rider and so unable to take on anything green and I’m looking for something that will help me to continue building confidence and improve my skills- that will be forgiving if I get things wrong.
  • Nothing that’s super sensitive and responsive to the aids, I’d rather something that I have to work harder to get going, than something I have to keep trying to stop. I have had an accident with a horse bolting with me so this is really important.

Good budget available and a 5* home in Oxfordshire waiting. Please text/ WhatsApp me if you have something that might be a good match.

Thanks!
