Joe is a fantastic pony, with the kindest of temperaments, eager to please in all ways.
More on the gentle side.

He will never say no. A complete saint and a one ,
He has proved very sane and sensible in all situations met.

He is amazing to hack good in all traffic. Seen all farm machinery etc, been to arena hires , fun rides , attended dressage clinics. He has never put a foot wrong!

Hes mainly done hacking as I like them to hack out before they go in the school.

He is green in the school but very willing. Turns out on his own or in company not bothered in the slightest. Dosnt have any separation anxiety.
Will tie up all day to be groomed & fussed! He’s so EASY.

Joe will make a beautiful family all rounder or will make a TOP class show open or junior pony, he has the most incredible step with a look at me factor. Beautiful clean limbs, & straight moving.

Good to load, travel, clip, farrier. With a knowledgable home he will go in any direction you should require.

We think so much of this very special pony, so home is the upmost important to us.

Absolutely no time waiters.

George

Rising 5 years

Very smart Irish cob

He would make a lovely allrounder

He has such a sweet personality and would stand to be pampered all day long! Has been great to catch/farrier/clip/load ect. He rides well in the arena and has been super to hack out alone or in company in traffic ect.

Great mover so would do a lovely dressage test.

He wouldn’t suit a total novice as still needs confidence from his rider, absolutely no badness whatsoever just needs miles. Not a spooky type.

He really is a lovely chap who is ready to be loved and go and see the world!

  • Wonderful temperament, great with children and adults alike.
  • Genuine schoolmaster, ideal for young teenager that she can help step-up.
  • Great to hack, loves to jump and enjoys flatwork.

Stepol Northern Dancer “DANCER”, beautiful bay 14.2hh allrounder, Welsh section D mare who loves to be active. 16 years’ old and a genuine schoolmaster, she is great with children of all ages and adults alike but would thrive with a young teenager that she can help step up. She is easy to groom and tack-up with an excellent temperament, great to hack either alone or in company, is good around cars, and loves to jump up to 1m comfortably and has occasionally jumped up to 1m20 single fences. She enjoys flatwork but does not have much experience in dressage, however, would make for a beautiful dressage pony.

She is good to travel, but can sometimes be reluctant to load if she doesn’t travel regularly or isn’t familiar with box/trailer. She has been to multiple farm rides, non affiliated show jumping competitions, cross country events, arena hires and gallops and has thrived in all areas. She is not strong and has exceptionally good breaks so is only ridden in a snaffle with no flash required. She was also previously part of a Pony Club at a riding school.

For the last couple of years, Dancer has generally only been ridden for non-competitive pleasure but can easily be brought back up to a competing level.

She was bought for 11-year-old daughter and has done well with her for the 5 years we have owned her, only deciding to sell due to a change in circumstances and time commitments. Dancer is a low maintenance pony, who typically lives out from March through to the end of October with no issues. She prefers life living out and only gets brought in at night during the winter months due to requirements of the livery she is on now but would be happy to live out all year round.

She has never bucked, reared, or kicked people during our ownership, however, does experience mild crib biting after she is given treats or is in the stable for prolonged periods, no health issues have been identified by her vet.

An absolutely wonderful pony ideal for first time or experienced owners alike.

• Vaccinations and worming up to date
• Microchipped
• Good to clip (has been in winter for past 3 years)
• Good to shoe (every 6 weeks and only has front 2 on currently)
• Tack and rugs available on request. PoA

Dobby 14.3hh Welsh x 12yo gelding

Ultimate hacking horse

Bombproof in the heaviest of traffic

Loves his job whether alone or in company

Not strong or silly in open spaces

Snaffle mouthed

Easy and responsive, happily stands to mount and do gates

Golden to clip, shoe, bath, catch and load

Gets hot travelling but is improving with each outing

Owner believes he was driven in previous home so struggles in canter, much prefers a fancy Welsh trot!

Not a fan of the school, will tolerate some light schooling but has a buck if asked to canter in a small space.

Can be grumpy and strong on the ground if stressed, this is reflected in his price.

Comes with tack and extras

Patrick is a genuinely unspoilt, 3 rising 4 year old gelding with a wonderful temperament. He is a true “dope on a rope” to lead and handle, and a pleasure to have on the yard. He is currently measuring at 15.3hh and has 10.5” of bone.

He happily lives in or out, and turns out sensibly with both mares and geldings. Patrick has loaded and travelled on a wagon several times without issue, and has been walked out in traffic and seen farm machinery.

Patrick is unbroken, ready for someone to produce their own way. He has a willing nature and steady outlook on life. With his temperament, he could excel as a future allrounder, safe hack, hunter, or even a therapy/RDA type with the right training. He’s a total blank canvas ready for someone to bring out his full potential.

A super friendly, easy going cob who will be a lovely project for someone wanting a genuine youngster with a bright future ahead. Cobs of this size, stamp and nature are increasingly hard to find. Patrick combines height, bone and presence with an exceptionally kind, easy going outlook.

Photos don’t quite capture him, and you’ll need to look past the winter woollies, but he’s going to mature into a seriously smart cob.

Dolly

14.2h 6yo mare

Dolly is a very sweet little lady who’s very kind and easy. She’s like a little mouse in the yard you don’t even know she is there! Beautifully marked with beautiful feather - equally she would look amazing clipped out if that’s your bag.

Dolly knows her basics in the school and would definitely be a lovely little dressage pony with further education. She would look stunning with a set of plaits in the white boards. She has a lovely little jump and pops a little course with ease. Has been Xc schooling which she loved. She was easy and snaffle mouth at all times.

Dolly is super to hack and absolutely loves mooching around. Dolly has been hunting which she really enjoyed. Stood beautifully, popped some rustics and seen ditches with an 11yo girl.
Stands at the top of the gallops and lets horses work past her at speed! Forwards going and it’s a squeeze along not a kick along.

Loves a groom and a bath. Very very easy to deal with in the yard. Very loving temperament on the ground.

We are having to sell Charlie as our daughter is concentrating on her education.

When we first bought Charlie back in 2020 he was competing at Pony Club events in Yorkshire

We stabled him near us and used him at the Stable yard events and hacked him etc, but interests and change in lifestyle now means that we need to sell him on to another loving home.

Charlie Hacks, Jumps, Schools well - fetching and grooming, feet picking is second nature to Charlie.

He is not a first pony as he is willing to go forward and needs that experience and confidence from the rider (When hacking)

In an arena he is quite used to having all sorts or persons of riding abilities on him and is solid as he was once used as a schooling pony between 2021-2024.

We started to train him to drive and although at the early stages he seems to be good although we have not got actually putting a cart on him yest.

He is currently stabled at a family members residence.

He is priced for a swift sale.

Birdie is a lovely 14hh 4 yo (old head on young shoulders!) proper irish cob. She is a well marked beautiful pony inside and out!

Birdie is good to hack, alone or in company-she is good traffic and good with other horses. She is good to ride on the road, and good to ride in open space. She does not buck, rear, nap etc - she is a rising 5yo but has a superb attitude and lovely temperament to be ridden by children.

Birdie is working well in the school- she walk trot canters correctly, and is soft in the mouth, again she is a younger pony so there is so so much more to come. But she has all the correct attributes and training to become something really special- either for the show ring or dressage potential.

Birdie jumps very well, she has a great technique, she is careful in front and v good behind over a fence. She is bold and careful. She had attended clear round show jumping shows, she is good in the warm up with other ponies and no different in the ring.

Birdie has been xc schooling and jumped all the ditches and coloured fences and went straight into the water.

Birdie is an easy pony to have around, she is good to load, lead, catch, travel and stands to be bathed- she is lovely in the stable and not mareish and would be happy with children around her. She is very much a big dog, she is a steady enough kick along pony. She is a real ‘family friend’ and would be a good mother/child share.

Good to shoe, good to clip. She is open to any vet inspection and has no health issues.

She is only a rising 5yo, but she is such an old head on young shoulders. She is substantial enough for adults to ride and jump. She would be an ideal mother/child share. As she is young I wouldn’t say any young horse is suitable for a total novice home who has never had horses and have no support- but she is a forgiving pony for a child or nervous person to ride! 5* home wanted for a very highly thought of pony!!
Some tack included.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Herd turnout, with stabling possible. Lots of interesting and varied work including dressage competitions and fun rides,  not just plodding round on a lead rein! Ideally close to Wiltshire, bit willing to travel to view if not too far away.

Honest & genuine to a fence, has competed arena eventing and showjumping competition whilst here.

He is a straightforward ride and has been ridden by children but does need some furthering of his education, so wouldn't be suited to a novice.

Kind and friendly temperament, who always tries hard to please.

Good basic paces and has competed at unaffiliated dressage scoring 65%

Sweet to hack alone & in company

Tommy
13 hands, age 12, Irish Skewbald Cob. Based in Derbyshire.

Tommy adores hacking and is safe and sensible out and about. Seen it all and bombproof on roads, with cars, trains, farm machinery and livestock. Has previously cantered, galloped and jumped through fields in a previous home and looked after his jockey.

He has done some basic schooling but if you are after a school master then Tommy is not for you as he doesn’t want to be in a school and instead wants to be out seeing the world!

Tommy is an independent soul and not the biggest fan of a long grooming session but will do pretty much anything for a treat. He likes the quiet, calm and a ginger biscuit!

He is upto date with the dentist, farrier, worming, vaccinations and physio. Great feet and is barefoot. Does have mild CPL, which is easily managed through clipping, diet and exercise.

Tommy can have some strong opinions on life, typical of a cob, and at times be bolshy on the ground. He definitely gets his confidence from whoever is handling / riding him so is not looking for a novice home but someone confident he can put his trust in and be his leader. He would suit a confident teenager or adult looking to have fun and who is willing to put the work in to building a strong relationship with him.

For transparency, Tommy can be a bit fidgety when having his saddle put on. He will come with all of his tack (minus stirrups and leathers) and a full wardrobe of rugs. Open to offers to find him the right home ideally before Christmas.
