Lionswood The Duchess

Duchess is 13.3hh currently and is expected to make 14.1hh. She will be 4 at the end of June.

I bought Duchess as a 2 year old for her super temperament. I was told by the breeder she would make 15hh. Unfortunately she won't make that and to say I am gutted is an understatement. I need 15hh minimum as I struggle with a pony stride due to my MS.

For the last 16 months she has been trained using a mixture of natural horsemanship and positive reinforcement. But she does understand the word 'No'.

She is great with the farrier and the vet. She has had her wolf teeth removed and the vet commented on how good she was. She is up to date with teeth, worming and vaccinations.

She loads and travels well.
You can fully clip her, even the tickly bits.
She comes to call.
She lives in a herd of mares but has lived in a mixed herd no problem.

Sh does get sweet itch in the warmer weather but it is only mild and is easily controlled with sweet itch rugs and fly masks of which she has 2 of each and these will go with her to her new home.

Duchess is a completely unspoilt blank canvas ready to start her ridden journey, and maybe her showing career. I am just really sad it won't be with me.

A lovely stamp of cob by “Snowman” a spotted cob that carries the LP1 gene, out of a mare that throws super types.

She is currently standing around 13h and should make around 15h. She is a homebred, the dam and previous two foals can be seen. This filly is only for sale as we prefer geldings!

She was born in April 2025 and has run as a herd until weaning. She is now in being handled, will tie up, groom, have feet picked out etc. A blank canvas for someone to enjoy and put their own stamp on. Videos available on request.

Flame is a lovely cob ,who lives with one other pony and two big horses and is a delight to have on the yard. He blends in well with others. I brought him to be a companion and he does he job well always helpful.

Flame is for sale no fault of his own, due to my circumstances I'm selling both pennies. I have owned him nearly a year.

A real loving sweetheart. Homebred by current owner and always been well handled. She has a brave and inquisitive nature and learns quickly, she is well mannered.

She has been bitted and worn a lightweight saddle to walk out in.

Moves beautifully and would show in hand this season very nicely.

She is utd with vaccs, worming and trimming.

Good to catch, lead, stable, groom, trim, has had her tail and feathers washed and loaded and travelled well to come here despite never having done before. She's happy in or out and is friendly with others.

She'll be a real smashing type and if anything like the others we've had from the same home for backing she'll be lovely to back when ready and a fabulous, versatile ridden pony with a fantastic attitude.

Tweedfell The Duchess (Dolly) is a stunning minimally marked coloured 137cm mare that oozes quality.

Dolly has a beautiful natural self-carriage, and light, uphill paces. At a show, Dolly has the ‘look at me’ factor and carries herself beautifully. She is happy to be pampered and polished while stood on the lorry and had a successful season in hand as a two year old.

Dolly has excellent breeding (bred by the Tweedfell Stud) and has a beautiful head just like her sire. Her sire Asby Mills Warrior is graded by both CHAPS and BSPA and has been a finalist at HOYS and RIHS on multiple occasions.

I have given Dolly a fantastic start to her education and she is now looking for the perfect home to continue this. Dolly is easy to do, she lives out, stables, or lives in a crew yard shared with another pony. Dolly is good to tie up, clip, trim, bath, for the farrier, leads in and out of the field by herself or as a pair, loads, etc.

Dolly is CHAPS passported, fully vaccinated, in show condition, wormed to date and has her feet regularly trimmed.

Dolly has been home produced by myself (amateur) so is eligible for all of these show classes. She is already 3 years old and is ready for more groundwork in preparation for breaking in.
