  • Prince is the sort of pony who will suit a wide range of riders and situations.

Prince, a five-year-old purebred Connemara gelding who is turning heads wherever he goes. Standing at 15hh and still growing, this striking young gelding truly embodies the quality and character that the Connemara breed is so well known for. With his beautiful conformation, kind eye, and gentle temperament, Prince is not only a joy to look at but also a pleasure to have around the yard.

Prince is exceptionally well bred, by Cornfield Prince out of a mare by Johns Pride, with Matchmakers Lad further back in his pedigree. His breeding shines through in both his ability and temperament. From day one, he has shown himself to be incredibly versatile, smart, and eager to please. Whatever you ask of him, he gives it his all with a willing and honest attitude.

Under saddle, Prince is a delight. He is straightforward, kind, and easy to ride, making him ideal for a variety of riders. He moves beautifully with three balanced, expressive paces and a naturally uphill way of going. Over fences, he is brave and careful, having already jumped confidently up to 1m at home. He loves his jumping and equally enjoys cross country, taking every fence and question in his stride without hesitation or fuss. Whether it’s show jumping, eventing, or just fun days out, Prince approaches everything with enthusiasm and a calm, level head.

Prince is the sort of pony who will suit a wide range of riders and situations. He would be an ideal choice for someone looking to move up from smaller ponies, a fantastic mother–daughter share, a valuable addition to a riding school, or a talented partner for a more competitive home. His temperament and talent mean he can truly turn his hoof to anything — from hacking and fun rides to dressage and jumping.

In the yard, Prince is a gentleman. He is easy to shoe, box, catch, and handle in every way. He hacks out both alone and in company and is excellent in traffic. He has no stable vices and is a lovely companion to other horses. Prince has a bright future ahead of him and is ready now to find a loving home where he can continue to shine.

He is open to any vetting, and for extra peace of mind, transport to your yard anywhere in the UK is included, with an exchange offered if you’re not completely happy. Horses of this quality and temperament are hard to find — Prince is a real all-round superstar with the looks, breeding, and attitude to go far in any discipline.

To see Prince in action, please scroll down to watch his video. For more information, don’t hesitate to get in touch — call me anytime on 00353 86 8077626 or email gertytynan@gmail.com.

Prince is truly one in a million, and he’s ready now to make someone very proud.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Geoff is a 14.2hh chunky Bay Blagdon gelding, 4 years

We have had Geoff since the start of summer and he was purchased as a project. Sadly a change in my work circumstances force a sale earlier than I would have liked. That being said, he has been broken to ride lightly and is proving to be everything we hoped.

He has a placid, sweet but brave nature and is fabulous to be around. Catch, lead, tie up, muck out round, groom, farrier. He has a lovely nature with other horses too.

Over summer he has worn tack, long reined in the school and on the lane and has been ridden round the school and on the lane. Nothing has been rushed, he has then been turned away for a number of weeks and brought back in. The fact that we brought him in, tacked him straight up and got on for a stroll round the arena and the yard is indicative to the nature of this lovely cob. Easy, unflappable and trainable.

He is young and green so will be sold to a knowledgeable home only, however, he is going to make someone a fabulous cob with size and substance. They don’t make them like this anymore. We can also continue with his education for the short term (should his new owner wish).

Serious enquiries only. He is based near Whalley, Lancashire. He can come with tack by separate negotiation and we can arrange transport nationally.

Geoff is sound, never sick or sorry, no sweetitch, great feet and no sarcoids.

He is open to vet.

Honest advert for a very loved horse

Earl is extremely loved and will only go to the right home. He is only for sale due to my lack of time and that I’m also going travelling this year.

* 14 years old
* 14.3hh
* Connemara
* Gelding
* I love you melody lines

Based Manchester

Low 4 figs starting with a 4 - OVNO including full wardrobe including rugs, made to measure saddle, and bridle

Earl has the potential to make a really lovely fun all rounder for a confident experienced and patient rider, I believe he would also make a nice mother daughter share. He does however get irritated at kids being silly around him so he wouldn’t suit being a family horse with young children.

He is NOT a child’s pony or a novice ride.

Earl has been with me for the past 9 years. During this time he has had KS surgery and PSD surgery to his hind legs. I took a lot of time rehabbing him through this, his KS surgery changed his life for the better. Earl will not wear back boots, this developed post surgery. He doesn’t actually need to wear back boots so the stress that it causes him is very unnecessary.

Ridden - Earl would make a lovely little project for someone. He went for schooling post surgery to Sophie Seymor, he really enjoyed the variety of work with Sophie and came back absolutely amazing ready to progress with his schooling further.

Unfortunately due to my lack of time he has been out of work for around a year, he is now unbalanced in the school and needs a confident, quiet, experienced rider. He has no malice, but he does let you know when he’s finding it difficult.

Although Earl has spent the majority of the year turned out, he was absolutely foot perfect when I dragged him out for a horsey holiday around Delamere September 2025. He was perfect on the roads, past livestock, we even ended up on the Gruffalo trail and riding under zip lines - I couldn’t fault him one bit. We haven’t hacked solo for a while but he does hack alone or in company, he just needs reassurance from his rider.

I also recently broke my wrist ( not horse related ) and still hacked him with my arm in a cast, he was perfect.

During Earls time with me, we have been on plenty out outings. He travels like a dream and there is an easy knack to loading him. We’ve been to arena hires, somerford farm ride and of course our holiday. He also traveled amazing for the 5 hour journey to Sophie’s yard.

On the ground - Earl has amazing ground manners, he is very easy to handle and will stand for a chat on the yard all day. He loves to be scratched, he dishes out kisses all day! He is very clean in the stable and has no stable vices.

Earl is a very good boy to clip, for the dentist, for the farrier. He is up to date with everything.

Plenty of videos and photos available on request to genuine enquiries ??

Ned is a compact little horse with a good amount of bone and lovely temperament. Ned is by Peters Brook a registered Irish Cob part bred out of a dam by Willie Joe, a unique mix of Irish blood that would make a nice show hunter/ working hunter pony type.

Ned has been an amateur’s horse for most of his life enjoying pleasure rides, hacks, beach rides and all the fun activities in between. He has also done a good few low level competions both showjumping and dressage.

In the school on the flat ned has started to progress nicely, due to the nature of his previous homes schooling has not been the top priority, now in a professional environment being schooled he has proven to pick things up quickly, works in an outline, has three nice paces. And would certainly excel as an event/working hunter horse.

Ned is happy to pop round a course of fences, he has a nice tidy jump and is not fazed by fillers etc. He is currently jumping 80/90cm with ability. He has also done a some cross country fences and loves the variety.

Ned hacks alone and in company, he has seen farm and village traffic and does not get hot up in open spaces. He would hunt as he is mannerly and very well behaved.

Ned is a lovely horse to be around, he is happy to live in or out, goes on the walker and is simply a very easy horse to deal with. He is good to load, clip, shoe, catch etc.

This is a sad sale with a genuine reason. We would love to see Ned in a home where he can continue having lots of fun and compete. For sale on behalf of a client.

Seeking my next perfect pony! Must haves between - 14.2h and 15.2h, between - 6 and 15 , although would change for the perfect one.

Needs to be within 2 and a half hours of Derbyshire. would go further for the perfect one

MUST be safe around traffic , farm machinery , farm animals ( as I live on a farm ), happy hacking , schooling , fun rides , smaller jumps , local shows - showing , dressage etc

All year round turn out on private land , living with a connie gelding and mini shetland gelding ( can be in separate field)

Massive stables roughly 4 times bigger than an average one ! videos an pictures can be provided

Lots of land to hack around.

My preferred breed is a chunky traditional Connemara just cause I love the breed so much my previous Connemara gave me so much but he is retired now , but would consider something else that fits the bill.

I previously had a bad accident with my last pony on the road with a tractor and my confidence is very low , it's very important that my next pony is very safe confidence giver. I am aware no horse is perfect but I don't want anything sharp or spooky and nothing that bolts , rears or bucks , strong etc
more woah than go

I would prefer no health issues but if it's something slight I will consider.
more must haves are good loading , good for farrier , dentist , for leading and for the vet.

I have had weekly dressage lessons for over a year and then monthly lessons with jumping the year before , spent a lot of time hacking ,before my accident. I have had horses for many years and was a competent rider until my accident where I lost confidence.

I am aware this is a lot to ask for but I know somewhere they must be one for me :) genuine 10 star home awaits thanks !

A well put-together, quality type, ready for someone to put their own stamp on.

Three lovely paces with a rhythmical, balanced canter

Attended several arena hires and pole work clinics is unfazed in new environments.

Hacks out happily alone or in company, in front or behind, good with all traffic we have met and farm machinery.

Schooled over SJ / WHP-style fences to approx. 80cm in Ireland (video available)

He’s excellent in the stable, on the ground, great to catch and happily turns out alone or in mixed herd.

Not strong and ridden in a snaffle, fully shod, vaccinations and worming upto date and travels in wagon or trailer.

He is currently professionally schooled twice a week.

Only for sale as he is proving to be too much horse for my nervous daughter.

He is still green, would suit someone to produce further or an experienced family home to continue his education, he will be a superb competition pony.

One in a Million Connemara, knows his job and loves his job! A real part of the family pony whose loved by everyone!

I’ve had the pleasure of owning Duke for 6 years and in that time he has taken me from jumping 90cm to 1m15 and 1m30 at home. Everyone who knows Duke knows how unbelievably special he is.

Duke does everything and anything from hunting to show jumping he has done it all! He has a record competing at 1m10/1m15, BS and unaffiliated. He absolutely loves his jumping, he is strong, quick and competitive . He would be the perfect 90cm/1m jumper for a young child/teenager to have some fun on. He would be great at teaching a young competitive child the ropes!

He really is part of the family and on the ground he can be handled by a toddler! Idea mother/daughter share as he loves beach rides, fun rides and long hacks. He is an absolute cross country machine and will jump everything and anything put in front of him. He is the bravest horse I’ve ever met with an absolute heart of gold. All good to clip, shoe, load etc, the usual.

This is the hardest thing I will ever have to do and homes will be vetted. I am of course open to any and every question regarding Duke as his new home is the most important thing to me.

He’s wasted potential at the moment and needs to be out having fun! I have loads more photos and videos on request.

Re available due to the world’s biggest time wasters!
Sad sale of much loved family horse due to rider relocating.

Coco has been with us for 10 years and we now feel it is time to let her go and be enjoyed and adored by someone else.
She has 3 established paces, all lateral movements including leg yield, walk to canter etc. Changes are there just rusty. Always in the placings in dressage with multiple qualifications including 4th at Pony Club National Championships. Dressage has always been something she has particularly enjoyed and is naturally good at.

Consistent showjumper, again always in the placings. Can count on one hand how many poles she’s had over the past 10 years. Very neat and never looks at fillers etc. Wins at 80 level eventing, enjoys xc schooling. Always good away at events, just the same at home and away. Snaffle mouthed for everything.

Bombproof is a term thrown around a lot lately, but she is the very essence of the word. Nothing phases this horse. Hacks alone or in company, first or last, in the heaviest of traffic or in the worst of weathers. She really is anyone’s ride. Never reared, spun or bolted. She will rarely have the odd buck when told off but nothing that will unseat a rider.

Good to do in all ways, clip, load, shoe etc. She is the ultimate good doer and is quite happy as long as she’s got food. She doesn’t change if she’s ridden every day or not ridden for a month.

Never sick or sorry. She has got a splint on her front leg which has never bothered her and in true coco fashion, has never been lame on it.
She has given us endless days of fun over the last 10 years and we will be very sad to see her go but feel she would be someone's ultimate PC, RC, Dressage, allrounder or even happy hacker, and give them the enjoyment she’s given us. She is really worth her weight in gold.

Endless photos and videos on request. Full wardrobe included.

Reduced as quick sale needed as rider relocating abroad in Feb.

D Brickie - He has done it all! Polocrosse, SJ, XC, BD, Le TREC, Riding Club activities, clinics, fun rides, hunting, beach rides, film, gallops, schooling, he’s easy to take out and always enthusiastic and willing.

With his previous owner he used to play polocrosse for Ireland but with me, for the last six years, he has done everything else. I brought him over from Ireland in February 2020.

He has been competing at show jumping/cross country at 70/80cm, no higher due to my nervousness, but has more scope. Dressage to Prelim. Tried Le TREC for first time in 2025 and he took to it really easily due to his polocrosse training.

Good to travel (trailer/lorry) and always well behaved, will travel alone or with company.

Will hack out alone or in company not bothered about traffic/machinery - stabled on working arable farm. Very easy to manage will live in/out currently out with mares. Perfect to shoe, clip, catch, groom, bath, vet, dentist, etc.

Whilst out of strong racing line has never raced, however can be forward and sharp. Would suit experienced, confident, light rider, (older teenager or adult), wanting to do a bit of everything and have some fun at local riding club.

Full veterinary history available for last 6 years. Genuine reason for sale. 5* home only, no timewasters as this is a hard decision for me. Private sale from current owner, homes will be vetted and references may be asked for.

Loads of videos/photos available.
