Calvin – 4-Year-Old Purebred Connemara Gelding
Meet Calvin, a top-class gorgeous Connemara gelding with all the quality, temperament, and athletic ability to make a serious future event horse. Standing at 15.1hh and 4 years old, Calvin is a bay gelding with full Class 1 recorded breeding and a pedigree packed with proven performance lines.
His sire, Caherlistrane Bay, is known for producing athletic, rideable ponies with great temperaments and natural jumping ability. Calvin’s dam is by Callow Rory, a stallion noted for his powerful movement and strong Connemara type, and out of a mare by Cong Admiral, another highly regarded stallion with a reputation for siring correct, kind, and competitive ponies.
Calvin is very much his breeding—he has a lovely uphill build, three quality paces, and a bold, scopey jump. He’s been produced slowly and correctly, and is now confidently jumping around courses up to 1m at home, showing excellent form and plenty of ability to go higher. He moves beautifully, with an active trot and a balanced canter, and has all the raw ingredients to excel in eventing, show jumping, or dressage.
What sets Calvin apart is not just his talent, but his attitude. He is a naturally willing horse with a kind, honest outlook. He’s brave, takes everything in stride, and always tries his best. He’s forward-going but never strong, responsive and soft in the contact, making him a really enjoyable and rideable young horse.
He’s easy and straightforward to handle—good to shoe, box, catch, clip, and in traffic. He’s happy living in or out, settles well in new environments, and has a very sweet and affectionate nature in the yard. He has the brain and temperament to be brought on by an amateur but the quality and potential to interest professionals too.
This is a genuine, quality young Connemara who has been carefully produced and is ready to go on. He’ll suit someone looking for a future competition partner, especially in eventing, or anyone who enjoys bringing on a talented young horse the right way.

Valerie – Quality 4-Year-Old 14.1hh Purebred Connemara Mare, Honest & Talented
Meet Valerie, a stunning 4-year-old bay Connemara mare standing at 14.1hh, with all the traditional substance and quality you’d expect from a true Irish-bred pony. With a leg in each corner and a lovely, balanced frame, she is the ideal working hunter type – an excellent mover, straight and correct, and already riding in a soft, consistent outline. Valerie is the sort of pony that turns heads wherever she goes and impresses with both her ability and her temperament.
Valerie is suitable for a variety of riders – from a confident novice to someone looking to produce a top-class competition or working hunter pony. She would make a fantastic mother-daughter share, and she’s kind and uncomplicated enough for a riding school environment, yet talented and forward-thinking enough for a competitive home. She has a genuine nature, takes everything in her stride, and learns quickly.
Under saddle, Valerie is light in the hand, rides with a soft mouth, and naturally works into a lovely outline. She’s forward but always sensible, never strong or silly, and listens well to her rider. She’s well-schooled for her age, with excellent natural balance and rhythm, and she shows real promise for a future in the show ring or eventing world. Her paces are fluid and expressive, making her an ideal candidate for dressage or working hunter classes.
When it comes to jumping, Valerie is incredibly honest and brave. She’s currently jumping courses up to 90cm, showing excellent scope and technique. She has a brave, straightforward approach to fences and is especially keen across country – she loves it! Water, ditches, banks, and fillers are no problem for this little mare. She’s been cross country schooling and behaves like a much older, seasoned pony – brave, clever, and always looking to please.
Valerie is also a joy to hack, both alone and in company. She’s completely reliable in traffic, including farm machinery, and is happy in open spaces without getting silly. She’s easy to catch, shoe, load, and handle in every way.
She’s confident, settled in new places, and always keen to work – a mare who genuinely enjoys her job.
She comes straight from her breeder and is beautifully bred, with full Class 1 Connemara bloodlines. Her sire is Rocklawn Elvis, a proven son of the great Silver Shadow, one of the most sought-after performance Connemara stallions in Europe. Her dam’s side is equally strong, by Starsky, out of a mare by the respected Ganty Blazer – a bloodline known for producing athletic, talented ponies with the best Connemara temperament. With her breeding, conformation, and attitude, Valerie has all the ingredients to make a top-level working hunter, event pony, or all-round star.
Transport to the UK is included in the price, and we’re happy to offer an exchange if you’re not completely satisfied – although we doubt you’ll want to part with her once you meet her.
