Exceptional 12.1hh, 10 year old traditional coloured mare.

True first pony, lead rein, junior ridden or RDA pony.

12.1hh but really takes up the leg - previous owner who rode her at RIHS is 5 foot 7 and was not too big for her!

We bought Dolly for my twin 10 year olds, just over a year ago, primarily as my daughter, who rides with the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) desperately wanted her own pony. Her twin had never sat on a pony before. Dolly has taught them both to ride, including winning numerous classes over the summer, qualifying for the sunshine tour in first ridden, lead rein and in hand classes. My children do everything independently with Dolly – bringing in and turning out, grooming, bathing, tacking up, loading, feeding. She is a true child’s pony, I know that they are absolutely safe around her, no matter what they are doing. Dolly will stand for hours and hours to be pampered, groomed, bathed, plaited and cuddled.

Dolly is fantastic to hack. She hacks in gale force winds, rain or shine, alone and in company but mainly alone as we are on a competition yard with adults – with one of my girls riding, then they swap half way! She hacks on open countryside and has experienced out of control dogs running at her, barking and jumping at her and owners chasing them and stands still and calm. We have taken her up to the South Downs accidently at the same time as a cross country race and again she was completely non plussed by multiple high vis runners on narrow paths racing past her. She’s had mountain bikes zoom past, from behind her, and again not spooked or got upset. She has an exceptional temperament that is incredibly hard to find. We have taken Dolly up on the South downs, through woodlands, to the beach, to shows – both indoor and on grass and she has been brilliant. This is all with my novice daughters who had only ridden with RDA and the other never before Dolly. Dolly has been led from me in my power chair with our two dogs running alongside. My daughter hacked Dolly from the yard to the beach with a group of adults. She had to lead the group across the railway crossing as the horses were being silly. She stood on the beach whilst they had a good gallop, away from her and back towards and then they hacked home together.

After only a few months of riding, Dolly has taken both my girls to lots of shows – their first ever show she won her classes with both children! She is very easy at shows, happy to stand and eat a haynet, for the kids to walk her round, share an ice cream, be sat on bareback and played with. She needs zero working in. My daughter who had never ridden before getting Dolly is now confidently riding in first ridden and pony club classes and Dolly has competed in lead rein, in hand, junior handler, dressage, handy pony (where she was 2nd out of well over 20 entries), never coming away without a ribbon! She won her in hand coloured class at her last show. Dolly qualified for RIHS 2025 in the open coloured ridden class and would be a really top class junior ridden.

My girls mainly enjoy hacking, doing obstacle courses in the sand school, having lessons, lunging her, doing shows, trotting over cross poles, pole clinics and just generally playing with her. They do not canter and have no desire, they are both novice / nervous and have never wanted to progress to anything faster than a trot. Dolly is very well schooled and with her previous owner competed regularly in dressage and affiliated showing, qualifying for RIHS on her first attempt. Dolly would be a top junior ridden and would excel at both dressage and showing or equally as a cherished first pony, teaching tiny tots to ride or would be an exceptional RDA pony. I do not think jumping will be her forte – she will trot over very small cross poles but we have done nothing more. My ideal home is one where she is adored and pampered like she is here.

Dolly is well used to dogs and has met cattle, sheep and lots of livestock out hacking on the downs. She is not phased by tractors, bikes, motorbikes, cars and so on.

Dolly is excellent to catch, shoe, clip, bath, load. We have a single trailer but she has also travelled in company in both a lorry and trailer – she is loaded and unloaded by my children. You can do everything with Dolly without her tied up – I can clip her face etc with no headcollar. She is very easy on the ground, has no vices and is not mareish or difficult to manage when in season. She turns out alone or in company, is respectful of fencing, has been in by day and out by night over the summer and is out by day, in by night in winter. She stables alone if needed as is very content with a haynet! She is barefoot with good feet. Dolly is up to date with her vaccinations and passed a 5 stage vetting last year (2025). She has never been unsound, unwell or needed the vet, except for her vaccinations.

Any viewings, inspections and vetting fully welcomed – I have 1000s of photos and videos to show all the things they do together.

Please note, Dolly is very heavily feathered and as such these need maintence and care specific to traditionals- will talk this all through honestly with all buyers.

Ponies like Dolly are very few and far between and references can be obtained from both previous owners.

This is a devastating sale due to an unexpected and life changing medical diagnosis earlier this year meaning I am in and out of hospital and have a long, complex treatment plan ahead. Please absolutely no timewasters, or those not in a position to buy, as this is a distressing time for everyone involved. Home is of utmost paramount importance.

This is a sale only, no loans, I am very keen to stay in touch as is previous owner, if at all possible please.

Based West Sussex, excellent trial facilities. Price negotiable to very best home and a straightforward sale due to our difficult circumstances.

Dolly will come with everything - bridle, rugs etc, 6 month old made to measure Ideal GP by seperate negotiation.

We can potentially help with delivery.

Based in Foster Home - Burton area

Meet Wally, a cute youngster who is looking for his new home as a non-ridden companion. Wally would suit an experienced home with other young ponies similar to him that he can play and grow with.

Wally is progressing well with his general handling but does require some extra training in some areas, especially with his leg handling. He can be a little shy when you first meet him but is generally good to catch and lead once he gets to know you and is very rewarding to work with.

Due to Wally’s type he will require some restricted grazing and is currently stabled during the day to keep him off the grass and sunlight due to his pink nose, so will suit a home with other ponies with similar grazing needs.

Can you offer Wally a loving home?

Sadly selling Rocky as I am out of action for a while.

5yo, 15.1hh gelding by HHS Cornet (Cornet Obolensky), out of a Colin Diamond mare. £3,500 ONO to see him in a good home.

I bought Rocky last October and had him going happily in all three paces and over poles. Unfortunately, he picked up an injury in the field during winter which meant he had some time on box rest. He has been signed off by the vet, with no concerns for his future. I’m more than happy to discuss this in detail with serious buyers.

He also has a recent clean set of back X-rays and is completely open to vetting. Clean vet cert from Oct 2025.

He will need restarting as I had only just got him going before his injury. I’ve done lots of groundwork over the past month to strengthen him up and had started leaning over and sitting on him, but unfortunately I have now torn the ligaments in my knee and am awaiting surgery, so I’m unable to continue producing him. Price reflects that he is a project that needs time and work putting into him.

He was good to back, stands at the mounting block and understands all basic aids, steering etc. I took my time with him as he arrived from Ireland quite nervous and unsure of everything. He could occasionally be sharp, but was never nasty and has never thrown a shape. When worried he would simply become tense and need to come back to walk, have a pat and be given a moment to realise everything was okay. He is a much more confident horse in himself now and is a firm yard favourite.

He has hacked around the fields alone and in company and happily popped logs on the track. Very brave and willing attitude.

He has the sweetest nature and impeccable manners. He was unbelievably well behaved throughout box rest and is just a genuinely lovely horse and character to have around. I would 100% trust him with anyone on the ground.

There is a seriously smart horse in there for someone. He moves beautifully, has great conformation and plenty of ability. He could make a really lovely working hunter horse, or equally has the breeding and ability to go down the showjumping or eventing route.

I’m in absolutely no rush to sell him and finding the right person is more important than anything else. He deserves someone who will take their time with him and enjoy bringing out the lovely horse I know is there.

Currently barefoot, has worn shoes previously and is good as gold for the farrier. Up to date with vaccs. Always loads first time and stands like a lamb on the box. No vices. He is genuinely a lovely horse to have around and I would be continuing to produce him if I could.

No dealers, novices, time wasters please. I would like to stay in touch with whoever buys him and follow his progress.

Valentine is a beautiful flea bitten grey Irish sports horse gelding. He is by Beowulf (Cruising) with Lux on the dam side.

Mr V has competed in every discipline showing just how versatile he is. He is super brave and genuine to any type of fence, never saying no. He is a pleasure to handle in every way. Good to shoe, clip, catch, lead, load, travel, etc. Lives in or out. Very good manners and well behaved a stay away competitions.

Mr V competed BS upto Newcomers and BE upto Novice with a teenage girl for multiple seasons. Producing lovely dressage tests with auto changes etc. Proving to be bold and brave around the XC, careful for the showjumping and flashy in his dressage phases. He also competed in the high end PC competitions (1m/1.10) and fun rides, sponsored rides, hacking etc.

Valentine would make a fabulous all rounder for someone wanting to do a variety of disciplines. Equally he would excel in a dressage or showjumping home.

Mr V has no vices or medical issues. He is not suitable for a complete novice due to be a competition horse but equally is not a complicated ride. Can throw the odd buck in excitement but nothing dangerous.

Utd with everything.

Hunted, where she has been foot perfect, stood quietly at the meet and taken the whole experience in her stride. We feel a hunting home could be particularly well suited to her and would love to find her a home where she can continue to enjoy this.

She is an intelligent, sensitive mare with plenty of character, a lovely personality and a pleasure to have around the yard.

She can occasionally test her rider, so an experienced home is essential rather than a novice or first-pony home. With the right person, she is great fun and a very rewarding pony to have.

She enjoys getting out and about and has attended Pony Club camp, rallies, fun rides, beach rides and is used to a variety of environments. She prefers to hack in company.

She is good to catch, groom, tack up, load, travel and is good for the farrier and dentist. She is up to date with vaccinations, worming, chiropractor, dentist and farrier.

Pony Club references can be provided.

The most lovely mare we have had for a very long time, she is incredibly easy to do in every way. She has three naturally balanced and uphill paces, she has attended some unaffiliated prelim dressage and combined training shows gaining over 70%.

Her jump is amazing, bold, careful and naturally athletic. She is gaining high marks for her jumping within the BYEH classes and has been showjumping on a ticket at BS shows and has now jumped her first discovery. Competed at our local shows in the working hunter, being placed and jumping brilliantly.

Her behaviour at shows is impeccable.

She has jumped some small logs and cross country fences at home but is yet to go cross country schooling due to us not wanting to rush her, she again is brave and scopey.

She will hack alone and in company in the heaviest of traffic, snaffle mouthed at all times.

Easy to shoe, clip, load and will travel

In a lorry or a trailer. She is not mareish at all and will run with mares or geldings.

Serious enquiries only for this very special girl, home is genuinely more important than price.

Cleo - approx 15.3, 9 year old ID x Cob type mare (no breeding recorded).

Cleo is a super sweet mare with a lovely temperament.

Current owner purchased her after being imported from Ireland having done a little bit of everything (hunting/xc/hacking/arena hires). Since then she has been working away on her flatwork, has hacked and done some XC schooling. Cleo is super to jump and has a real pop on her! She’d easily go and jump round 90/1m +. Recently been to arena hire with us and popped straight round a course of fences without a fuss, helping me out when I mucked up the striding and giving me the confidence to jump bigger than I usually would! She’s a lot of fun. XC schooled here and loved it, mega little mare to go off and do a bit of everything on.

Hacks alone and in company, does take her confidence from her rider out hacking and can be wary of traffic when she’s on her own but nothing nasty, better with another horse.

Works away in the arena and her owner has done a good job polishing her up on this area but she is still a little green for her age so this is a work in progress.

Only for sale as she is a bit green ‘out and about’ (again, no nasties she’s a very genuine mare just needs a bit more education), and her owner needed a real been there done it type for a first horse.

Very sad sale and her owner would love to keep in touch. See on sales livery on behalf of owner.

She’d make the most mega hunter for the upcoming season!

Good to catch/clip/shoe (bit snatchy with hinds but not awful)/load/travel.

Passed 5 stage vetting a year ago. Teeth/vaccinations/physio/feet up to date.

Comes with her bridle and some rugs.

Toby is a very handsome 17hh, 4yo Irish gelding, Shire x Irish Draught. A genuine, kind horse with an old head on young shoulders and a real armchair ride.

Toby had two days out with the Coakham Bloodhounds last season before being turned away for the winter. He took to it brilliantly, proving sensible and mannerly with hounds, standing quietly at the meet and behaving impeccably throughout the day. He was bold and genuine to a fence, happily jumping what was put in front of him without making a fuss. He didn’t get strong or silly. He has all the makings of a fantastic hunter.

He has been back in work since March 2026 and has been kept in light, enjoyable work, mainly hacking out along with beach rides and pub rides with customers. He has been exceptionally sensible and straightforward throughout.

Toby is an exceptionally safe hack. He is good in traffic and will happily hack alone or in company. He doesn’t hot up in open spaces or when ridden in a larger group and is quite content to go at the front, middle or Back. He has never bucked, reared or bolted.

He absolutely loves a day out and has thoroughly enjoyed his beach and pub rides. He is sensible in company, easy to ride and takes everything in his stride, making him a very enjoyable horse to have around.

Toby also loves cross country schooling. He is brave, straightforward and always willing to have a go. He doesn’t question what is asked of him and simply wants to please his rider.

He is still green in the school, as you would expect for his age and the fact his work has intentionally been kept light, but he has a good basic education. He is balanced, responsive off the leg and beginning to work consistently into a soft outline. He has a lovely soft mouth and is naturally comfortable and easy to ride.

On the ground, Toby is an absolute pleasure. He has a very kind, loving temperament and is always pleased to see you arrive at the yard. He will stand happily to be bathed, clipped and plaited and is easy to do in every way.

Good to catch, load, clip and shoe. No vices.

A lovely young horse who is remarkably sensible for his age. Toby would make a superb family hunter, mother/daughter share or quality allrounder for someone looking for a genuine, safe horse with plenty of ability and a temperament that is very hard to find.

He has been given plenty of time to mature and has never been overworked With two days’ hunting already under his belt and a summer of relaxed hacking, beach rides and pub rides with a variety of customers, he is ready for someone to continue his education and enjoy him.

A real yard favourite and a very hard sort to find.

Open to vet and transport can be arranged.

Louie has been with us from a 5 year old, having pointed 3 times as a 4 year old but he didn’t have the heart for it.

Louie has 3 balanced correct paces and a scopey jump, lots of potential. He does everything in a loose ring rubber snaffle.

Louie loves hacking! He hacks alone and in company, brilliant in traffic often passing artics and large farm machinery. Over winter he often hacks in the dark on his own. I regularly take Louie cantering around the fields he’s happy on his own and doesn’t get silly with other horses. He jumps nicely and is not worried about which stride you put him on. He’s happy to jump on the grass or in the school. He’s has been cross country schooling multiple times and is brilliant with steps, ditches and water. Louie has also been to arena hires and previously had a few mornings autumn cubbing.

No lumps, bumps or sarcoids he’s clean limbed and a really smart stamp.

Louie has a lovely friendly demeanour, the easiest horse on the yard to deal with, happy to be out first or last, a real soppy dog to deal with on the floor. Great to clip, load, mane/tail pull, dentist etc.

He is up to date with the chiropractor, physio, dentist and will be shod this week.

Louie is not a novice ride and needs a confident rider to take him on. He is very much a project rather than a made horse and needs work putting into him.

Lack of time forces sale before winter

It is time to find our lovely 12.2 a new smaller child to have fun with. A very sad sale that we’ve put off all summer. She is a Welsh Section B with recorded breeding.

Nancy has been a superstar for the last 2.5years, but is now hopelessly outgrown. We bought her from a lovely PC home with two daughters who had her since she was a yearling and was loved just as much. Now, 12 years old, Nancy has done just about everything a pony can do. In the last 2.5yrs shes taken my daughter from her perfect first ridden to jumping round 70cm courses. She will jump bigger single fences at home but her best results have come at 60/70cms.

She has been showjumping, cross country, dressage, farm rides, beach rides, been galloping with my horses, numerous camps including Somerford Park. Pony days, games, been dressed up for Halloween and Christmas jumping - the ultimate child’s fun pony. She has been to championships and stayed away. She has even given dressage to music a go, although she would prefer something in the faster lane.

Nancy is handled by children, but isn’t a pony to stand and be pampered for hours. She’ll be brushed and hooves picked out by children but she wants to be on with her job. She is not fizzy or buzzy but covers the ground for a 12.2 and is quite quick, including against the clock! She will however step down and trot round a 40/50cm course and has been ridden on the lead by my youngest who doesn’t ride.

She hacks alone and in company, and large groups, is safe to take into open spaces, and will gallop along with the big ones no problem at all and she will keep up! She’s been on fun rides, farm rides and to the beach with no worries of her running off.

The ideal home will be a medium to confident small child who wants to do a little bit of everything, coming off their first ridden pony, as she really does thrive off working. Not really suitable for a child who is coming straight off the lead rein because she wants to be on with her job. Doesn’t buck or rear, and isn’t particularly sharp, but would prefer a balanced child because shes quite petite. Safe in all situations, with traffic, farm machinery, other ponies in warm ups. Can also be led off another horse. We bought her for my then just turning 9yr old and I wish we’d bought her a year sooner!

Teeth, vaccinations, physio, farrier all up to date. She hasn’t needed shoeing and we’ve done lots with her over varying terrains. She has currently had a summer of less work whilst we’ve focussed on the bigger ponies, so is a little bit rounder than she should be but it won’t take her long to be in prime shape again. She is a delicate stamp of a pony when fit and competing. Nancy has filled my daughters wall with rosettes,

We have 100s of photos and videos of her in all scenarios over the years. Please only enquire if you’re seriously interested. Shes been part of our family, living at home with us, so we know her very well. Sadly my daughter’s legs nearly touch under her belly.

Poppy was bred by ourselves, out of a grade A mare who mainly jumped 1.40m speed classes in Sweden. She was intended for my wife, but due to other commitments she has reluctantly decided to let her move on to a more competitive home.

Poppy has done multiple training shows and rounds (fitting in around the kids ponies) and has always been totally straight, brave and careful. Currently jumping BN and Discovery.

Stunning looking mare, everyone who comes into the yard notices her. Poppy is very kind natured and usually easy to deal with. She is happy to hack alone around our yard (quiet lanes and woods) and has often escorted the kids and ponies too.

She currently turns out alone and has also happily lived in groups without any trouble (she’s never top of the pecking order).

Sad sale due to total lack of time, we all adore her so home is of the upmost importance.

Sebastian is a very talented connemara. He is very laid back about life and enjoys competing. He is ridden only by teenagers who have produced him since a 4yo. He is a big confidence giver and takes you to the fences. He sits in a lovely still outline and is very correct in his flatwork.

He has evented at BE80, he has done lots of showjumping, combined training, lots of arena hires/XC schooling.

He has a lovely jump and has shown some serious scope. He will also happily pop around in a quiet canter not over jumping, just a point and go - he knows his job!

He has absolutely no vices, no lumps/bumps, completely clean legs and moves straight. No vet history, definitely no sarcoids or melanomas. He is great for the farrier, dentist, travelling and loading, taking horses away from him at competitions. He is fantastic to hack, we have double deckers and tractors, never nappy.

Sebastian definitely doesn’t act his age and would definitely suit as a second pony/horse.

14.2hh bay Welsh D mare 5 yrs ( reg name is Rhonas Spring Song) by Brynithon The Ambassador

Fun little mare who will go on to be a great all rounder, or poss a dressage pony. She’s had a good basic education and is riding on well. She’s a lovely type that was bought as youngster by a showing home but hasn’t made quite what they wanted for the show ring hence sale. Rosie is a lovely mover and very flashy, she is the type that thrives on work, the more the better! She has an active brain and just loves to do a job, she’s trainable and willing. She hasn’t done loads of jumping but is happy popping round a small course of coloured fences here with plenty of scope to go on, she’s very brave with coloured poles, fillers etc. She is still on the green side of life and would best suit a small adult or competent teen to continue bringing her on and have a lot of fun along the way. She takes up the leg well (rider in photos 5”10) She will go on to do everything!

Rosie loves her hacking and will hack happily both alone and in company and has been good in all traffic met to date, she’s very genuine. She has extensively hacked round the South Downs and is used to busy hacking routes with tourists, dogs, bikes etc.

She’s easy to handle, catch, box, feet trim, good with the clippers and is a friendly character.

Seen at livery.

  • Qualified RIHS open ridden coloured 2025

She has been ridden a few times and is looking for someone to continue her education and bring her on.

Suitable as a broodmare/project.
