Turtle's dam is an ISH mare with Clover Hill and Master Imp bloodlines. The damline has produced 4* eventer and 1.30m showjumper Master McCormack, as well as numerous successful national level amateur showjumpers and eventers. The dam herself competed to 1.10m.

Turtle is a big active mover with an eye-catching trot and an uphill canter. With the right production we think he would do a super test, especially for eventing as Turtle is a MACHINE. Although he has only loose jumped a handful of times he absolutely loves it. He is super bold with quick reflexes and will take on anything from anywhere. We think he would be incredible eventing cross country, out hunting or team chasing. Turtle likes to go fast and jump big!

Additionally Turtle is a massive personality with the most brilliant temperament. He is just hilarious and always seems to be happy and smiling. He has the most fantastic attitude to everything and is always game, he takes everything in his stride. Has seen traffic, worn tack and been sat on and takes everything on like he has done it all before. It is so important to us that Turtle goes to someone who is on his wavelength because you would have an absolute ball! Turtle has lived out in a mixed herd for most of his life and is well socialised. In winter he has been both stabled and barned and he has no vices.

Turtle really is one of a kind. Eyecatching, beautiful, user-friendly and capable of being produced on in to any sphere, whether that's BE, BS, BD, hunting, team chasing or just as much of anything and everything as you can do! Turtle is the kind of horse you'd be able to take to the beach on Monday, hunt on Wednesday, get your BE Grassroots qualification on the weekend and then set off for Pony Club/Riding Club camp the following week. “Loriot” (known at home as Logan) is a striking 6-year-old Warmblood gelding with the talent, pedigree and attitude to progress through the ranks. Produced correctly and carefully, he is already proving himself as an exciting prospect for both age classes and open competition.

Logan is by Light My Fire, winner of the 2024 Canadian Hunter Derby Championships, and we believe he also has all the attributes to excel in the American Hunter ring. He combines exceptional movement, an attractive and correct conformation, a compact frame, beautiful head and shoulder, and an excellent topline.

The sire of Light My Fire is the 1.60m Grand Prix jumper Light On, while his dam is by Zacharov, bringing together some of the sport’s most influential bloodlines, including Clinton, Corrado I, Lord Z and Voltaire.

Competition Highlights

The Horse

Logan works in a lovely, balanced rhythm with three quality paces, an expressive canter and a careful, scopey technique over a fence. He is naturally athletic and gives every indication that he has the ability to develop into a 1.40m horse with continued production.

He has also been schooled cross-country, where he proved bold, brave and genuine, making him an exciting prospect for eventing should a new owner wish to explore that route.

Logan has plenty of personality and can occasionally be cheeky, so he would not be best suited to a novice or inexperienced amateur. He deserves a knowledgeable rider who will continue his education and fulfil the considerable potential he has shown.

This is a very genuine and extremely sad sale of a much-loved horse who has been in the same home for over three years.

The Central and Elizabeth Underground lines are just a mile from our yard, with Fairlop station being the nearest. From there, you can enjoy a scenic walk directly across Fairlop Waters to reach us.

Set within over 50 acres of stunning parkland, Aldborough Hall Equestrian is a charming retreat. The stables are arranged in a traditional courtyard surrounding a tranquil garden. Our indoor arena measures an impressive 60 x 25 metres, while the outdoor arena, set to undergo refurbishments in spring 2025, is a generous 100 x 60 metres. The grounds also feature a variety of permanent cross-country fences, adding to the diverse training opportunities available.

One of the highlights of Aldborough Hall is the exceptional hacking. A private track leads directly from the yard onto Fairlop Waters, where you’ll find an all-weather track that extends for miles in a circular route, ideal for year-round use. Additionally, there are grass canter tracks throughout the park, providing variety for schooling and a welcome change from arena work—all without the worry of encountering traffic.
