At approximately 15.2hh Revel is lovely and compact but has the stride and presence of a much bigger horse. He is short coupled and beautifully put together.
Won his most recent BE100 event at Norton Disney finishing on his dressage of 29.8
He has jumped round a few BE100s this year and has really learnt his job getting better and better every time out. His record has some blips on it but this is in no way a reflection of him at all, they have all been technical mistakes or silly rider errors (like cantering straight past the third fence at Aston!). He is bold and brave XC and doesn’t say no to anything; ditches, water, steps etc. Easily makes the time and has a good galloping pace.
He is a nice jumper but is inexperienced in the ring. He is always keen and forward, will jump off pretty much any stride and takes a miss. Has jumped a few BS Discovery tracks on a ticket with lots of scope to go bigger. I’ve found that he jumps better round the bigger tracks and think he’ll keep improving.
Beautiful and flashy on the flat with very balanced paces, the dressage judges love him, regularly scores sub 30/70%+ and would very easily do pure dressage.
He will be a serious grassroots contender or JNR/YR horse. He is entered for Shelford BE100 but will be ready to step up to Novice by the end of the season.
He was professionally backed but has been slowly produced by an amateur from a 4 year old. Low mileage due to university and work commitments.
Hacks out beautifully, can sometimes be a bit spooky on a new route by himself but is lovely and sensible in company. I haven’t tried him in heavy traffic but all traffic that he’s seen hasn’t been a problem.
He can sometimes be sharp but he’s not nasty. Very friendly and likes a fuss but he will need an experienced home that will understand he is a competition horse with his own sensitivities. He’s currently kept on a busy professional yard in regular work and this suits him really well.
He lives in or out on his own or in a herd, has excellent feet and is up to date with teeth physio etc.
He is a super horse with endless potential and I’d love to keep him and keep going up the levels. Unfortunately for financial reasons I’ve made the decision to find him a new home but I’m in no rush and he will only go somewhere perfect.
Open to offers around £18,000 with the potential for some tack and rugs to be included.
