HorseQuest proudly support Thoroughbred Dressage - A stable dedicated to the re-training of ex racehorses from the race track to the dressage arena

Thoroughbred Dressage not only re trains the ex racehorse, but also trains the 'thoroughbred' (aka warmblood) horse

TB Dressage aim is to produce quality horses that would exel in the dressage arena, but maybe also in other spheres to; for example eventing, polo, riding club horse etc

Thoroughbred Dressage training principles come from the classical dressage training techniques

Beautiful Dressage horse with the temperament of a Labrador

A very very good, uphill canter and great walk. The trot is good and will develop further over time/with training.

TiM is out of the full sister to Desperado OLD. He was one of Germany's most talented horses as a youngster. A 5-year old Desperado won the 2008 World Young Horse Championships in Verden. Representing Germany again at the 2009 World Championships and finished sixth. Taking PSG by storm, winning the 2011 Nurnberger Burgpokal finals, before going on to Grand Prix

Tim is a trainable person, who always like to please. He tries very hard for his rider and with more time, development, balance and strength, he will be something super. He is forward without being silly and is sensible beyond his years. A kind horse who doesn’t take offence of you make a mistake.

Tim is just wonderful to have around. He is kind, sweet, very personable and mannerly. He LOVES humans, fuss and cuddles and always just wants to say ‘hi’ and hang out with you.

He has yet to start his competitive career as things have been taken slowly with him, due to his size, but he has done arena hires and was wonderful. He lead the other horses in and around, walked past/worked well whilst building works were happening in the next door arena, along with show jumping lessons happening in the other arenas. Tim will be that wonderful ‘mix’ of competitive, yet lovely to have around/ride/handle.

He hacks alone or in company, is happy to not be ridden for a few days / weeks and you can hop straight back on.

Great to shoe/handle, have yet to clip him

Full history known. (He was born, bred and broken in at the same place) A very much loved horse and only 10 * homes to apply.

  • Piglet, 8 year old, 16hh TB (RoR eligible) gelding
  • To stay at current yard, with current trainer

Been out of racing since he was three and been in retraining for the past two years. To stay at current yard, with current trainer. Due to my work commitments I am looking for someone to take  exercising duties 2 days per week.

Piglet is good in the school and knows how to walk/trot/canter in an outline, but is only two years into his retraining so needs a kind, sympathetic rider who will help him and develop him alongside the training he is currently receiving. He loves polework and is good to hack alone or in company. Piglet is on 7 day livery, so no yard chores are required.

He is not a novice ride, but is safe and sensible.

With regards to financial contributions his livery bill would be spilt to reflect the amount of days his sharer will take on.

All farrier and vets bills will be covered by owner.

Everyone needs a Paddy in their yard

Paddy is one of the kindest and sweetest horses you will meet. Same owner since she was born, who saw her through her racing career and now onto her second career post racing. Paddy has been loved and cared for throughout her life and is now looking for her new family to carry on with the same care and affection for her in her career post racing. She loves cuddles and fuss and will happily be groomed for hours.

She is the type that ‘isn’t fussed’ whether you take her away from her friends in the field to ride, or leave her in while her mates go out to play, if you ride her 6 days a week, or leave her for a few weeks and hop on board.

Paddy is at her early stages of ‘retraining’ where she is walk/trot/canter in a vague outline/concept of a contact and is looking for someone that will help progress her along. She likes to hack and is good on her own and in company.

She isn’t at all mare-ish and currently goes in the field with three other mares where she is firmly at the bottom of the pecking order and ‘keeps herself out of trouble.’

Owner would love to keep in touch with Paddy in her new home

Good to hack, shoe, box, catch

She does crib, hence the reflection in her price.

A super, kind, loving home for this sweet girl is a must!
