Bred from German and Belgian bloodlines:-

Her bloodlines on both sides, are full of Grand Prix Showjumpers. Most recent, Gunner, was ridden and competed by the Team GB rider Joe Stockdale. Escudo I excellence has been proved with another decendent in the Olympics, ‘ king Edward’ and Gottwald prodigy is prolific in European and GP competition.

This Filly is direct descendent of the legendary Escudo I, crowned Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2009.
She has beautiful poise and balance with freedom in the shoulder. A fantastic looking Mare, demonstrating an aptitude and willingness to jump.
This filly, in the right hands, has the ability to go to the top of Jumping or Eventing given the proven success of her breed line

Escudo I is ranked 25th on the 2012 Eventing and 62nd on the Show Jumping World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses Sire Ranking. He was the winner of his stallion performance test in 1994 and achieved a convincing 144.90 points in the jumping category. He has not only been a Sire of Champions, but was also a Champion himself in the Show Jumping arena. Escudo I has produced 83 State Premium Mares and 25 Licensed sons, with offspring such as Henton Executive excelling in Eventing

Gottwald (Grand Sire) has offspring competing at the international level: Vila Vita Quick van de Breemeersen (who was at the WEG Jerez de la Frontera 2002), Parcival, Q'leos-S-Fair, Sjikita van de Breemeersen (full sister to the Dam of this youngster). His offspring is very well-known not only with professional riders, but also with amateur-riders, who like their willingness and ease to ride and jump. As an additional feature, they are also very nice-looking horses, and for example in three-day-eventing their versatility is much appreciated; good movements, willingness to work, stamina, and excellent jumping technique. Gottwald has not only produced International Jumping horses, but has also stamped himself on the Eventing discipline with Eclipse W. crowned Belgian Eventing Champion in 2012. Pure Alter Real Bay Lusitano Gelding 16.2hh, 10 years old. Substantial boy with good bone but light on his feet who has a big, but comfortable stride for a Luso. Stunning boy who has been competing at Medium and training at the higher levels. Established single changes and had started tempi changes, piaffe and small steps of passage before I moved yards. Has been hacking more just recently, to make full use of the hills and forest.

Trained in Working Equitation, which he loves, won twice at Novice Level with me in my first year, one being at the GB International in 2022 and working at Inter B Level, although we haven't trained for a few months now. Hacks out alone and in company, loves a good canter round the all-weather gallop. Can be noise sensitive to fast traffic so can get a little anxious but settles down quickly. Stabled at night and goes in the field most days. Travels alone or in company and will stand on the lorry quietly between classes. Easy to deal with at shows and clinics single handedly by me (older lady owner). Good to handle on the ground, clip etc. Up to date with vaccines, teeth physio, saddle checked every three months. An all-round lovely person!

Genevieve has shown herself to be an adept allrounder with all three main disciplines. She has evented (unaff) to 90 cm and show jumped to the same level but she still needs more confidence to excel. She would make a lovely Grassroots horse - she has however been concentrating on developing her dressage career. She qualified for the BD Regional Finals at Prelim after only two outings with wins and second placings every timeout. At the Regionals she was placed in the top half of the silver section. We anticipate that she can go forward at Novice in time for the next round of Regionals later this year.

Her temperament is sweet and affectionate and she needs a kindly and confident rider to encourage her. She has the forgiving temperament that would make her a good Para mount. Her tremendous walk would suit her well for Grade 1 tests.

Good in every way from the ground, she loads well and will happily stand in the lorry all day without fretting even when her mates are taken out or put in.

Good to shoe and clip (she loves it) she is easy to do in the stable.

This is a very sad sale as I’ve owned Darcy since she was a 3-year-old. Due to a change in circumstances, I’m now looking for a kind, permanent home for her where she will be well cared for and enjoyed.

Darcy is well-schooled and works nicely on the flat, producing a lovely dressage test, scores in the high 60s to mid 70%. Would also make a lovely riding horse.

She’s happiest with a varied routine; light schooling once or twice a week combined with hacking, pole work, fun rides, or trips to the beach or gallops. She isn’t suited to a jumping-focused home, though she will pop small fences occasionally for fun.

Darcy does not need to be ridden every day, but she isn’t suitable for a novice. Out hacking she is forward-going and needs a confident, reassuring rider. She’s been out of consistent work since July (new yard has no surface), but she is straightforward to bring back into work.

I’m looking for someone who will give her time, attention, and a long-term home. She has a lot to offer the right person as a genuine, kind mare to enjoy.
