Friendly has a super loving temperament, well mannered with a heart of gold , he is a lovely confidence giver and very tolerant. He is quiet to groom and tack up etc.. stands at the block while you get on , always snaffle mouthed.

Friendly rides sensible on the flat and is coming on nicely with his schooling.

Friendly hacks out in company or on his own , good in traffic, sheep, cows and you can open and close gates on him . also rides well in open field and bridleways. Never gets strong.

Friendly took part in the Oxford and Cambridgeshire pantheon jumping 2 rounds at 85 cm with novice riders.

More of a kick than a pull ride. Has been ridden by novices. He is a super fun ride but safe ride. Who will turn his hoof to anything !

Friendly will suit a family home / mother and daughter Share / Happy Hacker/ low level riding.

Friendly is very polite on the ground , loves a fuss and attention, he loves my kids riding and handling him , very sweet and well mannered with little people /dogs etc..

Good turned out in the field with others.

Doesn’t need riding everyday , lives out or happy to be in. He is a lovely boy to have on the yard.

No vices - looking for a 5* home for this special wonderful boy.

Looking to buy a cob between the ages of 5 - 10yo, preferably 14.2 - 14.3hh but minimum 13.3 - 15hh maximum

Mainly for hacking out on Dartmoor; I would do some basic schooling. And maybe some low jumps in the field or on the moor.

We own a 3.84 acre field in very good condition with natural and artificial shelter; the cob will need to live out.

As with our 3 equines we've owned, it would be a home for life.

Only able to travel Devon / Cornwall to view / ride one.

It would need to be easy to handle, good in traffic and have a lovely temperament and decent conformation.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Super Connie who loves pleasure rides and hacking

Hi Ladies and gentleman . I’m Vinnie as you can see I’m a chocolate dun stud muffin.

Approx 150 cm of chunky hunky Connemara my dad was Ross fear bui, (he’s bit of a breeding legend ).

I’m on the look for a new mumma or dude. Someone who has been there done that knows horses . My perfect new match would love exploring the countryside and heading out on pleasure rides.

Dressage divas and Show jump superstar im not for you. Im rock solid in traffic. Love to pop the odd log. Just love exploring new places seeing the sites . I’m not a fan of going round and round in circles in that school thing , it just not my dream job. but don't mind the odd session.

I’m pretty intelligent you need to have a bit about you as if you’re too soft I’ll test out your skills, which means I’ll take you to a bush to find blackberry’s and giggle while I’m doing it , then see how long it takes you to pull me out . I don’t Do airs above the ground or anything far to much effort . My mother calls me one in a million and the best thing she has ever hacked, what ever that means. Lots of her friends have ridden me , some of them are nervous so I make sure I take good care of them.

I had a bit of inflammation in my suspensorys 1.5 years ago mother got me stabbed with steriods and some shockwave. Been hacking, long pleasure rides and light schooling since all hunky-dory. I've not needed treatment since. Being mentioned to be transparent, im sure most people wouldn't say.

I’m happy taking those little cheeky monkeys out on their ponies( mother calls it lead and ride ). Happy to head out solo or with my mates on a hack . Also don’t really stress when my mates head off in the field .

I’m generally a pretty laid back dude. If I’m going out for an exploration I’m better in a lorry or trailer without a partition .

I headed over from Ireland when I was four and been with my current mum since then . I’m nine now.

So if you think you might be my perfect match give my pa a message and she will start filtering the response to find my perfect home (she’s very particular and knows what I’m after a five star match, she’s want the best life for me so won’t waste anyone’s time if she’s thinks they aren’t right )

I currently reside Tiptree Essex

I have a fabulous saddle from bliss of London, that’s was made to fit me and I love it. But separate neg.

  • A real fun pony

Leo 14.2 British Riding Pony 17 years old gelding, fully registered with the NPS. Would suit a mother/daughter share, dressage, happy hacker, low level riding club. Fantastic pony so deserves the best and we will be picky !

He has fabulous confirmation and the temperament to match. He’s more kick than go, so if your looking for a speedy pony in the arena he’s not the one for you. He’s full history is known, only had 3 homes. Prior to us having him he was in a 10 year home where they did pony club activities, hunting, fun rides and hacking. Hasn’t hunted with us. He’s been very well loved and looked after, but feel he’s hanging his pony club boots up and ready to find a fun, non competitive long term home. He’s got nothing more to prove

He will hack alone and in company (slightly more looky on his own). He’s seen farm machinery, motorbikes, caravans, cyclists, lorries. We live close to the motorway so has motorway bridges to go under. Will also hack on a 60 mph main country road where he’s had cars come past at 80 mph, cars pip horns and has taken that all in his stride. He’s more likely to look or spook at a horse in the hedge rather than any traffic.

In the school he turns into a right dressage star. He will work in 3 lovely balanced paces and will work in an outline. He’s more kick than go in this area. He covers the ground lovely and has super flashy paces so can see him doing well in local showing or dressage. He’s well schooled and would label him verging on a schoolmaster. He knows what he’s doing, he won’t appreciate someone hanging off his mouth especially in canter so will tell you if you hold him too tight. Loves his polework and have taken him out to clinics which he’s really enjoyed. He will be happy to pop a jump now and again but ideally looking for a non jumping home for him now he’s slightly older and prefers his flatwork and pole work. Has the odd spook at times, nothing nasty. Typical of the breed

Loads and travels well, only seen him in a trailer. Will stable but prefers to live out. He’s a easy going type, a good doer. Currently front shod and great for the farrier. Good with the hose. Great to clip no sedation needed. Up to date with dentist, vaccinations, physio. Can be a fidget at times for grooming (only found this the first few weeks) very clean legs

He’s a very sweet boy looking for his last forever home. I’m in no rush, home is paramount so happy to wait until the right home comes along. We feel at some point in his life he has had a bout of laminitis. So we treat him like a good doer. We’ve had no issues with us at all, this is just from what our trusted farrier has said. He passed a 2 stage vetting when we purchased - paperwork available

He will come with his full bridle work and rugs

Homes will be vetted and references asked for - please bare in mind he’s a 17 year old pony with mileage. If you want a more experienced pony he’s certainly that.

  • Easy to do in all ways

14.3hh, 5 year old attractive black all rounder pony club / mother daughter share.

Wise head on young shoulders, she is an all rounder and will make a great pony club pony. She has 3 easy paces and does work in an outline and needs a rider to continue her training.

Hacks out alone and in company, leads off another horse. Unphased by anything out hacking, seen everything including buses, lorries, tractors, roadworks etc. Stands when you ask her to and not at all spooky.

Has been out to dressage, won her test, and was well behaved in the warm up and in the arena.

Enjoys her jumping has been show jumping and cross country schooling, not spooky at all, unbothered by fillers. Popped ditches / steps / water all first time.

Never strong or silly, ridden in a loose ring snaffle for all three phases, will walk/trot over a pole or small fence and equally canter to something bigger in a relaxed manner.

Easy to handle on the ground and in the stable. Loads perfectly and stands by the lorry quietly eating a haynet at a show.

She is the sweetest mare with a gorgeous temperament that will give somebody years of fun.

Excellent to shoe, catch, clip travel and load.

Open to any vetting, 5* home a priority for this lovely mare.

Stunning Welsh D Mare

Ref #: 342321

£4,995 OVNO
  • Welsh Section D
  • Bright bay
  • Mare
  • 12 years
  • 14.3 hands
  • Bombproof in traffic
  • 3 lovely paces
  • Impeccable Manners very easy on the ground
Striking 14.3h registered Welsh D mare with lovely traditional breeding.

Rose is our much loved family pony who we've had for the last 3 years, sadly for sale as moving onto horses.

Rose is kind, super easy, not a typical Welsh on the ground, with fantastic stable manners. She is suited to a small experienced adult or teen. We feel she would be best suited as a happy hacker/ pleasure ride type or low level riding club as she is a sensitive Welsh D and takes confidence from her rider.
She's great in heavy traffic, and my daughter regularly hacks through a busy town to get to the beach, she is keen to have a gallop on open spaces / beach but has brakes and was really well behaved on her first hunt in February.
She is good for the vet, farrier and teeth, but requires sedation for clipping. She travels well on trailer or wagon, will stand at shows without being silly.
She is low millage as was a happy hacker in her previous home, full history known.

Rose was successfully shown in hand and ridden as a youngster. She has done ridden showing with us locally and placed each time. She has been on hunt and riding club pleasure rides and was very well behaved. We've done all pony club activities attended pony club sj up to 80/ 90cm, we also did some Bs at 80/ 90 towards the end of last year. We went to PC champs with 80cm sj and 70cm Ode and she was amazing at her first stay away show.
We have done some local small ODEs too which she prefers so you can school around first as she can have a stop at some of the scary x country fences. We did an 80cm hunter trial last year which she loved as it was a familiar course.
She has lost her confidence jumping bigger competitive classes recently, therefore not looking for her to go to someone wanting to compete seriously. She will happily pop 60cm and familiar x country courses. With an experienced kind rider, time and patience, her love for jumping may return.

We're based on a large livery yard on a working farm, so shes excellent with farm machinery, cows / sheep. She's in a herd and mixes well. We have limited turn out Oct/ April which she copes with really well, never stressy without turnout as long as ridden.

She has super movement and 3 balanced paces, she rides like a horse rather than a pony. She isn't that forward schooling and requires leg. Scoring low 30's for dressage in 4 odes last year. She could suit someone wanting to do low level Dressage too.

She has no recent health history, hasn't seen a vet in over a year and a half, she has however been previously treated for ulcers and is a windsucker through habit after food. After owning her 3 years we feel that the ulcers were related to digestion / grass rather than pain or stress, she had a full work up and back xrayed so nothing was left unturned. In the summer months grass needs to be restricted with muzzle o/n and in during the day time and a good gut supplement is used.
This grass management needs to stay in place for her to stay happy and healthy,or even better someone who has their own land/ place to restrict grass Intake. More than happy to discuss further and open to any vetting or contacting our instructors/ vets for health history.
Priced to sell as home is very important to us, may consider a LWVTB if local so home can be vetted and references supplied. More videos available on request.

Absolutely heart breaking sale, she has a lot to give and will make someone very happy, no time wasters or dealers, will only go to a 5 * home.

Extremely sad sale due to no fault of his own, simply don’t have the time to give him the attention that he deserves. Ali is a sassy boy and has been adored for years. He is a safe ride. Has competed up to 75 cms but has jumped 1m at home. Ali can buck out of excitement but nothing nasty he just loves his job. Ali can be a stubborn boy when hacking alone with myself but with my sister he hacks beautifully as he needs a more experienced rider than myself. Will hack beautifully in company, amazing with traffic, pigs, tractors, lorries etc as we are on a busy farm. He is amazing to lunge and work with in the round pen as he is very responsive to speech.

Ali is a beautiful boy and he knows it! He is the perfect all rounder. He love’s attention and fuss.great with the farrier and dentist as long as they are kind. Good to load, sometimes can be a bit silly for the first 5 minutes but okay overall. With new things, Ali needs someone who is patient and soft handed. He is good to be be turned out and in,e will come to you when you call him even if he’s at the other side of the field. He loves his friends in his herd and causes no issues. He is extremely loved by everyone on the yard.

Recently we changed his bridle to a non leather bridle as he didn’t get on with leather bridles as it gives him strain behind his ears. Since this change he has so much better putting his bridle on.

Ali can be head shy at first but once he gets to know you, you can do anything with him. Sometimes he can be cheeky when putting his bridle on but I have worked on this with him for years and will show all the tricks get around this at the viewing.

Ali is a special one of a kind pony and will not just go to anyone and will not go to anyone unseen. Ali will only go to a soft kind rider and someone who is willing to put the time and effort into him.

He has been lightly worked during the winter but this has not made any difference to his work ethic only difference is he a chunky monkey.

As I said previously, I simply don’t have the time anymore as I work 6 days a week and I now feel he deserves better.

He is up to date with the farrier, dentist and vaccinations.

Very reluctant sale of this stunning young man, putting the feelers out....

5yrs in May, 13.1 eyecatching blagdon traditional chunky boy with a lot of potential, being wasted at the mo.

I've had Bodhi since a yearling and have made sure he has wonderful manners and a treasure to handle, started slow, not rushed, and taken everything in his stride.

Good for barefoot trimmer, loves a massage and physio and always good for vet/dentist. 100% to clip and loves a fuss and cuddle.

Ridden work is very basic. Basics in the school, hacks out alone and in company, confident leading and cantering in company and alone with no fuss, long lines and lunges well. Does take a bit, but mostly ridden bitless due to typical cobby mouth.

Would suit a showing/pony club family as in right hands will go far. Hes a flashy boy, stunning markings, and lovely paces. Has a hell of a jump on him too!

He's an absolute cracker and will only go to the best possible home, I'm in no rush to sell and won't be happy unless he's with the perfect home to give him the most amazing life.

Only issue, he's a raptor with fencing! So need mains electric or very well maintained battery one to keep him the right side of it.

Maverick is the perfect mother/daughter share or for a small adult who wants a super all rounder to compete and have fun on.

Due to a lack of transport he has only been competed lightly but has been highly placed each time in dressage and showing classes.

He hacks in company or alone and is great fun on xc rides. He has also taken part in western riding.

Forward going but not silly he wouldn’t suit a total beginner but a confident rider will have heaps of fun.

Uncomplicated to handle he is very much a yard favourite. Only for sale due to change circumstances means I’m no longer in position to give him the time he deserves.

Dylan is absolutely stunning and the kindest man to deal with on the floor, as easy as they can get.

Dylan came to us to be sold, due to previous injury he can only walk and trot so will be most suited to a happy hacking or in hand showing home.

Dylan is also quite happy living out so could also be a companion.

Beautiful Wilma is looking for her new home.

KPWN, 2009, bay mare, 16.2hh from Olympic show jumping breeding lines.

Wilma has been used as a broodmare with myself but is currently on ridden loan with another.

As a broodmare, Wilma is faultless. She is easy to get in foal, delivers big healthy foals without help and is an excellent mother. She is currently empty. I have her foal from a few years ago and she is outstanding.

On the ground, she is perfect in and out of the stable. Very calm and easy to do in all ways with no vices. Regularly handled by a small child and has perfect manners.

If she is continued to be ridden then she would excel in a home with an experienced rider who would like to hack, hunt, pleasure rides or do low level dressage with. She no longer enjoys show jumping (polls) and has lost her confidence in doing this due to a bad experience with a previous rider. She can jump but does get very anxious in an SJ arena environment.

Everything is up to date with her and she is easy to load, clip, shoe etc. She has never needed to be sedated even with the AI vet for scans etc. No health issues or vices.

Please see her pedigree for her Olympic show jumping breeding.

Beautiful 3 year old silver bay mare. Standing at just over 14hh now, but with plenty of growing to do, should easily make 14.2/14.3hh.

Very well handled, good to lead, happy to tie up, has had her feet trimmed regularly. Has been in a lorry and trailer and walked straight into both and traveled well. Happily turns out with mares or geldings, easy to have around.

Will stand all day to be pampered and groomed, a really lovely temperament and a blank canvass ready for someone to continue her education.

Up to date with worming and vaccinations.
