Lance is a fun, forward pony who excels at jumping whether SJ or XC. This is his passion—he loves to compete! He’s unfazed by fillers and has never had a dirty stop or run-out. He’s honest, responsive, and always tries his best.
He schools nicely on the flat and works in a soft outline in all three paces. He’s established in leg yield and other basic lateral work.
Lance hacks out happily alone or in company. He’s good with traffic, including cars and trailers. While he can have the occasional spook, he is generally brave and well-behaved in open spaces. He’s not strong or silly, even when cantering in a group. He will try and take a cheeky mouthful of grass though if he can get away with it.
He’s also confident around agility equipment, and his party trick is drinking from a hose! He’s used to all kinds of animals including dogs, cats, chickens, and pigs.
Lance loves getting out and about—he’s done numerous competitions, clinics, and Pony Club activities including rallies, camps, and tests. He’s a dream to load and travels well in both a trailer and horsebox. He’s happy to wait inside or tied up as long as he has something to munch on.
He currently lives out 24/7 but is equally happy stabled overnight during the winter. He’s lived with both mares and geldings.
Health Note:
Lance has seasonal equine asthma, which is well managed with a nebuliser during the warmer months. It’s likely triggered by environmental allergens and responds very well to affordable medication (approx. £30/month online). No treatment is needed during the cooler months, and he remains in regular work year-round. A nebuliser can be included in the sale.
He comes with a selection of tack and rugs. He has a non-breed-specific passport and was imported from Hungary as a 4-year-old. His full history since then is known.
Important to Note:
Lance is not a novice ride or a push-button pony. He requires a confident, experienced rider—ideally an older teen or small adult. For the right person, he is absolutely amazing. He’s smart, loves to work, and thrives in a home that understands him. We care deeply about where he goes and would like to stay in touch.
Viewings welcome—our yard has an indoor and outdoor school (available when not in use) and excellent off-road hacking.
