One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Looking for a sensible/sane 15-16hh GELDING as a Fun All-Rounder for Hacking, Fun Rides, Riding Club/Low Level Competition. Doesn't have to be a world-beater and happy for something jumping up to a maximum of 70/80cms; No need to be well schooled as willing to put the flatwork in, which I enjoy but most importatntly, must be happy/confident hacking and traveling alone. Prefer a ISH /Thoroughbred x but no Heavy Types.

Will consider Older Horses or something needing to down-grade and in need of a quieter life-style; will also consider Horses coming back into work from time-off (depending on the reason), some issues in need of maintenance but NO kissing Spine or Sacroiliac Issues.

Will be open-minded as I don't believe the perfect horse exists(!) but MUST be GENUINE and SENSIBLE. Required for an experienced mature, lightweight rider.

Life-Long home offered for the right horse/not looking to sell or move on. References available. No ridiculous or inflated prices!

Preferably as close to East Anglia as possible. Sale/Loans/LWVTB considered. All responses will be answered.

Forward going 17 years young Irish cob gelding. He loves to hack out, is more forward when jumping and can be strong so not a novice ride.

He’s been in our family for 10 years but due to family circumstances we are having to be realistic and find a good loving home for our boy.

He still enjoys being ridden to much to be stood in the fields as an ornament.

Will only go to the best of homes.

Please ring for more information. Based in Derbyshire
