One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Here Is a super pony, unfortunately for my daughter she’s too kick kick kick as her legs don’t come past the saddle flaps -as she’s only 4 ... as she is now wanting to trot more independently and canter but for someone else would be gold dust!

Cobweb has come out of a riding school and we have had her for three weeks

When she arrived she was a big ball of fluff ( I clipped her off and she’s good to clip ) Where in those three weeks my daughter has hacked / been let loose on her / picks her feet out and the pony has looked after the child and knows her job well. She has had a lesson on her and she is just so remotely tuned into doing the minimum. She’s been jumping the big blocks and is safe very safe

We have never let our daughter go before and she’s now away confidently. Turning stopping and doing around the worlds on her, And the pony just stands. She currently is in of a night and out in the day with our other ponys.. but would and has happily lived out. I know all the past history on her from the previous riding school

She would suit a lovely lead rein home or a first ridden that wanted to have confidence. She has been ridden by older children and works well

She’s vaccinated and teeth and working are all up to date

She isn a pony you can hurry along with a whip she doesn’t tolerate it..

We have lots of videos and photos available of her while she’s been with us upon request

Sad sale

  • The pony y has spent her life on a riding school teaching children how to ride for the last ten years. Knows her job and is a safe confidence giving pony.

13.1, Handsome bay gelding. 18 years old this year. Has been there, done it and got the t-shirt.

We have had Eddie for nearly three years now. He is a superstar pony and we love him so very much!! He has worked in two riding schools, our one and one before we knew him. He has also had private homes and is loved dearly by those people too....we would all love to keep in contact with him.

He is a real character and will try his hoof at absolutely everything. He is showing no signs of being 18 years of age and I am sure he has years and years left to give!! Since he has been with us he has done a bit of everything including Riding School work, Pony Club Camp, Cross Country Schooling, Clinics, Shows, Musical Rides, Dressage to Music, lots of hacking, gymkhana games and he has even had a go at Polocrosse. He loves it all and does everything with the hugest smile on his face. I have never once seen him put his ears back at anyone and he would never dream of kicking. He is lovely to handle on the ground. He is never sick or sorry and just smiles his way through life!!

I have never ever seen him stop at a fence and I have known him a long time!! He will also work in an outline if the rider is capable. He has so much to teach someone!! HOWEVER....he is NOT a ‘just off the lead rein’ pony.He has a character, a sense of humour and he definitely has something about him. He happily looks after lead rein riders for us in the riding school but we then skip a few rider levels. His next rider level would be a child who is competent in canter and likes to pop some fences because he can whizz up then and get excited. Having said that he has so many fans here and I know there is not going to be a dry eye when he leaves.

He has been turned away for the Winter due to Covid but is now back in and getting fit again.

He is fantastic to clip, shoe, worm, plait, load and travel.

Unfortunately Covid has meant I have had to make some tough decisions and this decision has been so incredibly hard. He will only be going where he will be treated like a prince and want for nothing. He lives in or out but you will need to have a stable available for him and he will need company.

He would make the most fantastic Pony Club Pony for the right rider. He LOVES going to parties and jumping is his most favourite thing in the world. He also loves hacking out.

Please contact us for more details. We are in Cornwall.

Sadly, the wonderful pony that I bought to take my daughter off the lead is lame and it is going to be a lengthy ordeal. My daughter is understandably heart broken.

The pony would have a very knowledgeable home and be treated as an individual with love and respect.

We are active members of the Pony Club and can supply plenty of references if required.

Forest needs no introduction to those in our area but for those further a field you only need to know this pony is phenomenal.

He Isn't a Novice ride purely for the fact that he loves his job but will not take advantage if the rider is nervous.

Although he is older he is fit and well and ready to take his next jockey all over the place.

He has consistently done BS Club, pony club rallies and all manor of things that ponies of teenagers want to do.

This is a very difficult decision and only one that has been made because his current rider is 5ft10 and still growing.

He hacks, loads, goes to the beach.

Open to all instructors, vets etc but please no joy riders. More Pictures and videos available on request.

Please only Messages after 8pm.

13.2hh mare approx 20 years old but rides much younger and is very willing, she’s currently schooling at 80cm but would not be suitable for a show jump home due to her age but will happily jump a course for fun - we’ve owned her for 4 years and she’s never put a foot wrong but I’ve very sadly outgrown her.

She is too talented to retire she will hack alone or in company can get strong in open fields but is never nasty just excited, doesn’t buck rear or have any vices she’s good to clip shoe etc.

She’s up to date with the farrier dentist and her back. please contact me for any more info.

  • Genuine, honest, experienced - small event pony ideally
  • Suitable for competent, keen, light 7 year old girl.
  • Must move well, do a nice dressage test and be very honest jumping
  • Pony Club experience desirable.
  • Needs to hack, jump, be safe off lead-rein, enjoy its job.
  • Lovely, experienced, rural family home.

We are looking for a kind, genuine and willing eventing/pony club pony. Ideally: confidence-giving, reliable and sound. It needs to be safe in open spaces and well schooled. Good manners and good behaviour in traffic, out hacking, at home, to handle and at competitions/rallies/out and about etc are important. Experience of Pony Club is necessary and eventing a bonus. No laminitis, sweet itch or other health conditions if at all possible.

A pony who is keen, honest and straight to a fence, fillers, XC, skinnies up to around 70cm would be ideal. No stopping, too strong in the hand or spookiness. An ability to hunt would be great.

My daughter has a brilliant 11.2hh first pony (who jumps and competes up to 50-60cm) and we are keen for our younger daughter to move onto him. This new pony would be to get our 7 year old properly started with pony club competitions and with eventing at 60-70cm. She is very committed, loves flat work and jumping and is a neat, effective little jockey. We are an experienced family home in a lovely location with other ponies/horses. Good facilities, arena, turnout, stables, trainers. This would be a home for life as we have other younger children who enjoy riding too. Good price paid for the right pony. References available if needed.

Ideally within 1-1.5 hours of Rutland/Leics border near Oakham, postcode LE15.

Photos/videos/details via text, WhatsApp please or a call is also fine. Many thanks.
