He requires a patient and calm handler. He is currently being caught with a second headcollar and needs encouragement to be caught until he gets to know his handler. He is generally good to lead once he's settled. Montel is still a little wary when getting his feet picked, so this will require ongoing training. He is starting to enjoy being groomed, but a slow approach is needed.

Meet Sparkle and Dazzle, the perfect pair of Shetland geldings. Both of them arrived together to the centre in May 2025. They would make the best companions as they are both very good to handle and very sweet natured.

Due to their type they are prone to laminitis, so they do require a bare to no grass turnout area. They are both currently on a non – grass turnout paddock during the day for 10 to 12 hours and are being stabled overnight with soaked hay.
