Gerry – A True Dream Horse

15hh | 7 years old | Connemara Gelding | 24 SJI Points

It’s not easy to put into words just how special Gerry is. He’s the kind of pony everyone dreams of owning – safe, talented, kind, and endlessly generous. Gerry is a 7-year-old, 15hh Connemara gelding, and he is the ultimate all-rounder. He has been there, done it all, and still has so much more to give. Whether you’re looking for a fun and reliable partner for Pony Club, riding club, or a confidence-giver to help a young rider grow, Gerry will rise to the occasion with a gentle heart and a willing attitude.

Gerry was previously owned by an 11-year-old girl who did absolutely everything with him. Together they built an incredible partnership over several years, hunting for four full seasons, competing up to 1m in SJI showjumping (with 24 points), and regularly jumping 1.10m at home. He’s taken part in eventing, hunter trials, and all manner of Pony Club activities. He’s the sort of pony that’s seen it all and still approaches every new day with a willing, eager-to-please attitude.

Under saddle, Gerry is an absolute pleasure. He has a soft snaffle mouth, works beautifully in an outline, and is just as happy being ridden on a loose rein. He’s as steady and sensible as they come, with enough sparkle to keep more experienced riders happy, but always kind and forgiving enough for a novice. He’s an ideal upgrade from smaller ponies, and a fantastic choice for a mother-daughter share. He is never sharp or silly, and is always trustworthy in every environment.

Gerry is a cross-country machine – brave, honest, and completely straightforward. He will jump absolutely anything you point him at without hesitation, and he always brings his rider home safe and smiling. On hacks, he’s equally dependable. He will hack alone or in company, and is good in traffic.

On the ground, Gerry is just as lovely. He has a gentle, affectionate nature and absolutely adores attention. He will happily stand all day to be groomed and fussed over, and is wonderful to handle in every way. He is easy to shoe, clip, box, catch, and load. He’s happy living in or out, gets along well with other horses, and has no stable vices whatsoever.

Gerry comes with a recent 5 stage vetting and is open for any revetting. His price includes delivery to your yard anywhere in the UK, and we are happy to offer an exchange if for any reason you’re not completely happy – though we are confident that once you meet him, you’ll never want to part with him.

Please do take a moment to watch his video – if you’re looking for a pony who will give his whole heart, look after his rider, and bring joy every single day, Gerry might just be the one.

Beautiful mover & has scope to burn. Gives you a fantastic ride both into a fence & on the flat. She thoroughly loves her job.

She has been very well started, sympathetically and slowly educated, not rushed or overdone and has had the benefit of being taken out to several venues. Good to load, travel & easy to handle.

She is an easy mare to deal with on a daily basis, not mareish. Lovely temperament & has a gorgeous character.

Would suit an ambitious jockey wanting to go to the top but equally would settle within a family wanting an allrounder.

Up to date with farrier, vaccinations, teeth & worming.

Heart Breaking sale of just the loveliest pony.

12yo, approx 13hh, chunky skewbald mare (unknown breeding).

Flyer has been Tully’s absolute rock as she has progressed from 50cm on to her current BS ponies. She is the most fabulous all-rounder and needs to introduction within our Pony Club as everyone will have seen her out and about at show, rally’s, fun rides etc.

General riding; Flyer is absolutely brilliant to hack out, alone or in company, front middle or back, & past any traffic. She isn’t spooky and will go anywhere. We live on the Moors, and she will cross water, open ground, pick her way sensibly up and down steep slopes, open and close gates, stand still to be remounted, and can have a good gallop on minute and return to a sensible walk the next. She’s forward going and keeps up with my horse without Tully having to kick all the time, she’s happy to go on lead rein for my youngest to ride, or to exercise lead without a rider, she’s even been led off the quad. She great. She also loves Hunting or Fun Rides, and while being very pleased about being there, is always still mannerly and safe.

Jumping; Flyer has done tons of Show Jumping with us. She is out at least twice per month and has been to all the big & small venues (day shows and stay-aways) around our area including Chard, Bicton, Ponitspool, The Grange, Ponderosa). She always behaves immaculately and is totally straight forward. Sometimes even my 5yo rides her in the warm up! She has taken Tully from doing 50cm on her old 23yo pony, to nervously doing her first 60. She has been doing the BS under 11 (70cm) and Stepping Stones 128 (75cm) all winter, and has taken Tully right up to attempting her first Blue Chip Qualifier at 80! Flyer is nicely forward going to a fence, she stays in a rhythm and will give a nice feel of taking the child to the fence, without being strong. She isn’t one for stopping or running out and will try her best to help. She doesn’t need setting up to a fence and is happy to just chip in or go long if she’s wrong, without taking offence if her jockey balances on her mouth by accident.

Cross Country; we haven’t done quite so much of, but we have done PC rally’s and competed in 60’s and 70’s and she is very willing to give it a go. She loves going through the water and will literally dive in if asked which Tully absolutely loved doing to make the biggest splash possible.

Showing; Flyer we have always thought would be a top Working Hunter Pony, she has the most fabulous conformation, with a huge cresty neck making her look fabulous without even trying. We have done a few showing classes with her through the summer and she always does well. She won the Working Hunter Pony at Exford last year and got a prestigious trophy which is currently on my shelf! Showing is not something we are in too as a family, but Flyer certainly could do well with the right owner, I’m sure.

Schooling / Dressage; Flyer is easy and obedient to school, quick to obey a command and willing to keep working without asking to stop or hang to the gate. She’s got a super canter, carries herself in a natural outline and is a grafter. Always wanting to please.

As an all-round pony, I would have a job to find a fault with Flyer. As a Mother I absolutely adore her, she is so easy in every way.

She has never had laminitis, but she does have a very cresty neck so I am careful to not expose her to anything that could bring it on. She has no ailments, allergies or other conditions. She has a bit of a bump/splint on a hindleg which doesn’t affect her, otherwise she is physically perfect with straight movement. She great to clip, shoe, load (lorry or trailer), and while she occasionally thinks it hilarious to run around the field when you appear with a head collar, she will always come for a bucket.

She has no vices, has never ever bucked or reared in any situation. She lives in or out, with mixed herds of mares/geldings/ponies/youngstock/donkeys/chickens. She is quite timid within the herd and not opinionated. Her submissive demeanour leads her to prefer quiet & kind people, and wouldn’t respond well to brash or rough handling, and I don’t think she would ever deserve it. If Tully ever carries a whip on her, which is rare) she gives it the side eye as if to ask what she could possibly have done to deserve this, ha-ha, her expressions are very readable!

She a total poppet. The only reason I am looking for a new home for Flyer is because Tully is now really focused on BS jumping and Flyer while being the best PC pony in the world, is not scopey enough to jump the big 80cm tracks and while she try’s her heart out, Flyer is a true all rounder not a pure Show Jumper. Tully is heartbroken even talking about selling her, and is totally opposed to it, but we have bought her a new pony to jump 80+ and finances dictate that we cannot just keep everybody.

We are open to vetting & viewings, she can be tried at home here where we have a school / jumps/ some rustic xc fences and fabulous hacking over the Moors, or we could potentially meet at a venue.

We are on Exmoor so it is always a bit of a trek to get to us, but it’s beautiful here and worth the trip!

I have literally hundreds of photo’s and videos of Flyer in just about every situation. I will be a little particular about where Flyer goes, and we would really love to keep in touch with her new owners. In an ideal world, I would love to have the chance to buy her back again in a few years time when my 5yo daughter is moving up!

Finn - 14.2 8yr Connie / Irish sports pony Working Hunter/Show hunter pony

Finn has been brought on by my daughter over the last three years

This very handsome chap is a fantastic pony. Finn is super safe always ridden in a snaffle. My daughter has made schooling him her priority the last year so his flat work is excellent.

He has successfully participated in Show jumping, arena eventing, Hunter Trials, Dressage, Evented PC camp, stay aways @Hickstead Riding club, Pony club activities, and lots of clinics. We did hunt him with the drag hounds last year he behaved very well.

Finn is a fantastic pony for a child who wants a very fun, pretty & most importantly safe pony, he is a fantastic Working Hunter/Show hunter pony who has competed up to 80. He hacks alone or in company and is excellent with traffic. He really is very versatile.

It is a very sad decision to sell Finn due to being sadly outgrown, so finding the right home is imperative. Looking for a knowledgeable home ideally not a child coming from a riding school we really want him to thrive with a rider that wants to continue his education and have lots of fun.

Excellent to catch, load travel, farrier, dentist he is sensitive to clip but has improved.

Up to date with all vac teeth worming

He holds a green passport with an official height measurement of 148

He is built on the finer side so would suit a more petite rider.

Smart Competition Pony - Eye catching Dun gelding, 5yrs, 148cm

Crunchie has done several Training shows in Ireland and shows lots of promise and he should have a good future ahead of him either SJ or Eventing.

He has a lovely attitude to his work, he rides calmly on the flat and he finds the jumping very easy.

Rides nicely in just a snaffle and he is naturally balanced and keeps a good rhythm in his canter.

This pony is bold around a course of show jumps and he recently went XC schooling with us - happily jumping rails, banks, painted wagons etc and was not at all fizzy or strong.

Very good to hack out and will go alone or with others and is superb in even the heaviest of traffic.

A smart good looking pony that is ready to go out and start his competitive career.

  • Safe and sensible
  • Would be a fantastic PC/ hunting pony

Super quality, fun & characterful 13.1 5yo gelding.

Smartie was bred and broken in Ireland, with children doing the bulk of the riding away. Having been ridden down the busiest of roads, through rivers, uphill and downdale, needless to say he is not at all the spooky or sensitive type.

He has since come over here and spent time schooling, hacking, and going to venues/ clinics, ridden by children, teen and adults alike.

He is a very sweet and comical chap, and goes through life with a positive attitude!

To ride he is safe and sensible but not a first pony. He would suit a child or teen that likes to have some fun, as whilst he will plod around steadily, I don’t think he would suit this being his job title.

He would be a fantastic PC/ hunting pony and really enjoy this. Has good, willing flatwork although plenty of room for improvement. He is bold to coloured and rustic fences including dykes/ coffins/ drops.

Very good to hack alone and in company. No vices, blemishes or ailments.

Lizzie is absolute delight, both in and out of the stable, very loving and sweet. Great with farrier, dentist, loads and travels like a pro.

Has done a bit of everything, sj, xc, ode, low level local dressage, hacks out alone and in company and great in traffic.

She loves to jump and will easily pop round 80/90's. She is forward going and loves her work, hence would make a super 2nd/3rd pony for an ambitious rider on the hunt for ribbons or an experienced mother/daughter share.

Although super safe and never silly, not a novice ride as she has the gears to get you there!

Based in North Shropshire.

We have owned laser for just over 2 years and done a variety of competitions with him, most of all showjumping. He has jumped up to 1.25 BS and jumped foxhunter second rounds (1.20) and in both cases just had one fence down.

He loves to jump and is forward but not silly. He is Brave and careful.

He has been an active part of pony club teams. He qualified for pony club championships 1m show jumping & also was placed as part of the pony club 1m Arena Eventing team at Blenheim palace. He also represented our pc at Bolesworth SJ and was individually 6th, out of a huge class.

His flatwork is nicely balanced, he works in an outline and has very established changes.

He is very brave xc and has won a local hunter trial. Jumps ditches, brush, corner, in and out of water etc

He is very safe to hack alone or in company and will happily lead from another horse. He has a lovely nature and absolutely adores human attention. Previously, when he got bored in his stable he would sometimes try to wind suck on his door for attention but we managed to stop this by putting crib box on the door and giving him stable toys for entertainment. This is reflected in his price.

Laser is a much loved part of our family, he has been to the beach, farm rides, fun rides, arena eventing.

Ridden by different family members. He is also happy to step down the levels and recently qualified for the 2025 90cm NSEA championships with my 11yr old son. Having won the NSEA National team Championships 90cm 2023 with my daughter and 80cm plate with my son in 2024. Sadly my daughter is too tall and my son has given up riding. Laser is too young and too talented to sit in a field. We would like him to go to an experienced home, he’s a competition type pony, not for a novice.

Open to vetting (Passed a 5* vetting when we bought him). Up to date with teeth and vaccines, good to catch, load, clip, shoe. Travels on both lorry and trailer. Happy to wait on either , alone or with company.

Logan has competed up to Springboards with plenty of scope and care to become a top track with the right rider.

She is very easy to have around, good to box, travel, shoe, clip etc.

Has been XC and proved to be bold and brave. Rides well on the flat including basic lateral work, she is incredibly switched on and loves to please.

In the right home I truly believe this pony will go on to achieve great things. Very sad sale as pony has no jockey.

Genuine sale as sadly outgrown.

Gambit was bought as a first pony for our daughter aged 9 (now 12) and has taught her how to ride and more importantly given her a love of horses and a confidence and happiness that only a bond with a pony can give. From day 1 she has looked after him herself - he is really easy to do and very kind in the stable. We go to the beach a lot, ride on open moorland and hills and go to pony club rallies / camps and various NSEA competitions. He competes comfortably from 60 cm to 75 cm and regularly jumps 80-90 with the occasional 1m at home. He is able to make tight turns in a jump off and is much loved at home, PC and on our school equestrian yard.

He loves hunting, XC, showjumping, Tetrathlon, gymkhana and hacking out. He is always keen and never mean, but is definitely a second pony as is forward going. He is always happy to go and do something – we make up random things to do and to jump all the time. Great in every way - load, travel, catch (no headcollar needed), shoe, clip and safe with traffic, loud machinery, dogs and farm animals. He suits a confident and capable rider that loves to jump. He is so patient and sweet natured and will happily stand for ages if you want to give him fuss and attention .

Jumped clear at NSEA Grassroots at Hickstead 2024 in both Team 50 and 60cm, and within 0.49 second of optimum time. Can ride and lead or be led. His wonderful temperament (regularly gets ridden backwards, jumped bareback or with no reins or no stirrups etc) is not to be missed – he doesn’t have a bad bone. He has been featured on front cover of Pony Magazine and has a Prophet’s thumbprint. He is fast - our Head PC instructor thinks he would be brilliant at pony racing - we have only played at home with this and it was going to be the next thing we tried with him.

The only thing we haven’t done is much dressage as it’s not my daughter’s interest. Sad sale as the whole family adore him but my daughter is very tall for her age and has outgrown him. Vices - He doesn’t like his one ear being touched, can be a little sensitive and he can pace at a hunt meet or in a stable if bored.

5 star home essential - we would love to stay in touch. Based in Herefordshire. Sale includes full wardrobe (saddle was purchased and fitted for him) Whatsapp Joanna 07977 22 89 45 for more photos / videos or look at #gambitthepony on Instagram.

We have owned Eddie for a year, bought as a second pony for my daughter but the bigger next pony we had our eye on for the future became available much earlier than expected so we now have 2 ponies and only one rider, hence Eddie is looking for a new home.

We have taken him to arena hire & unaffiliated SJ the 70cm clear.

He loves hacking and is hacked by a very inexperienced rider on the roads, on bridle ways & open fields without any trouble.

He is not a finished pony, he still needs some guidance from his rider so is not a first pony.

He has the ability to make a M&M WHP or would likely be the most fabulous hunting pony.

He can not be faulted on the ground, in the stable, tied up on the yard or being turned out in the field by children & is great with dogs everywhere.

  • Won many unaffiliated WHP & Hunter trial classes at 70 & 80 cm & Pony Raced coming 2nd twice & 4th

Compact 14hh, 8 yo, Connemara Mare.

Maisie has been with us for the last 3 years, she’s been ridden & brought on by my daughter who is now 14 & sadly outgrown her. Maisie is a fantastic & hardy trail hunting pony, forward going but she can also stay at the back.

Maisie is very sure footed, jumping hedges, ditches, rails & walls & crossing all types of country.

Trail hunting is Maisie's number one love.

She has been to Pony Club Camp for the last three summers, she's won hunter trials, WHP & showjumping classes at 70 & 80cm but has also competed at 90cm. She qualified for PC Regional Grassroots 80cm Eventing Championships & she's won & qualified at both Showjumping & Arena Eventing NSEA competitions. Maisie has also Pony Raced coming 2nd twice & 4th twice.

She’s been part of a hunt relay team & done mounted games - she was fun & competitive in all of those.
Maisie hacks alone, in company & in wide open spaces. She’s fine in traffic & lives on a working farm.

She's very easy to look after & to catch, box, shoe & clip.

She has mild sweet itch which is easily managed. She has just passed a 5 stage vetting. Price includes saddle, bridle, bits, numnahs & rugs which are worth over £1K.

We are based on the Scottish Border, just off the A68 between Newcastle & Edinburgh.

  • Wonderful pony

This pony is the most wonderful sweetest lady she has done everything from showjumping x country and hunting and would do a lovely dressage test.

Perfect pony club and NSEA pony.

She has qualified discovery second rounds 2025 and was placed 8th in the Discovery final at Blue Chip winter championships this year out of a strong field. Jumped and won a Newcomers.

She has a heart of a lion and is the bravest pony. She is ridden in a snaffle bridle and is very uncomplicated. Would take the smallest of jockeys and just look after them. Hacks out alone or in company.

Good to shoe box etc, lives in or out.

Sadly my daughter has outgrown her.

5* home an absolute must for this wonderful pony.

Lots of photos and videos available upon request.

Sadly looking for a new best friend after 2 years as she is now outgrown.

Has taken my daughter from a fresh 12 year old to a competent and talented rider.

Lexii loves her job, she shines at pony club events, hunter trials and cross country, arena eventing and show jumping. Competed at regional championships, stay away shows and different camps. She loves to jump and enjoys dressage.

Lexii is keen and forward, so would suit a confident rider.

Lexii is happy standing in the box and super to travel. She’s very easy to handle on the yard and will stand calmly, easy to catch etc. She can be turned out with Mares and Geldings and loves her stable.

Is regularly professionally schooled.

Good with the farrier. Has never reared or bucked. No vices.

Happy to hack alone or in company, is safe on the roads.

A good home is a must for our much loved pony.

Currently 14, turning 15 at the end of June 2025

• Potential working Hunter / show / eventer Connemara pony by Dunally Lad out of a Temple Active Atlas dam (I love you Melody)
• talented and very brave
• beautiful mover
• N/N HWSD.

This pony has been produced slowly as she shows lots of potential.

Shown in hand as a youngster and always in the ribbons and has been to a variety of arena hires and training days where she showed a fantastic sensible attitude to her work and showed a careful, scopey jump. She is unphased by fillers and loved her first outing xc, jumping ditches, steps, skinnies and water.
She would suit a rider with a strong lower leg as she is more woah than go.
