Poppy
14.1hh Blue Blagdon Mare 8yrs
Weight Carrier
Confident, Bold, Safe, Dependable
Cracking Allrounder / Happy Hacker
Ideal for nervous inexperienced rider or jockeys who want to ride at a slower pace.
Special Requirement / RDA

Kind, Well Mannered, Super Steady and Safe

Poppy is a really nice calm considerate girl, she is a stunning model that’s been there and done it all.

Tonnes of experience and unbelievably safe. Ideal for beginner riders, or riders who wants to progress and have some fun, she is super steady, calm and gentle in every way, she has more woah than go …..she can be a bit of a plod, even tho she is super safe, she responds to the leg and has 3 excellent paces, with flare and enthusiasm, she is very sensible and can be forward going if your a more experienced rider, not spooky, sharp or silly in anyway, she is responsive to the leg if you can ride, whilst remaining calm and relaxed, she is extremely willing and will do anything you ask, she has 3 nice balanced super steady paces, she loves to jump a course of coloured and rustic fences.

Poppy participates in our low level showjumping, cross country, In hand, fancy dress & handy pony competitions.
She is a firm favourite with our special requirement and RDA rides both ridden and during stable management and therapy sessions.

She is a fantastic all-rounder.

This is a really fantastic horse for anyone to build up their confidence, continue learning to ride and progress on.
Definitely a 1st and 2nd horse.

8yrs Schoolmistress

Exceptional mare with tonnes of experience for sale. She has spent the last two half years working in my riding school where she has been ridden by all level riders, from complete beginners who have never sat on a horse before up to advanced riders where she participates in our flat work lessons, privates and groups, with the same enthusiasm now as when he first started her riding school career. She is very genuine and loves to hack out, she doesn’t pull, rush, spook or get nervous of anything, Poppy will hack through the heaviest of very fast moving traffic without batting an eye lid, she is not perturbed by any kind of vehicles or farm machinery.

Absolutely no vices, when ridden, in the stable or in the field and has brilliant manners enabling anyone to handle her safely and with ease, will stand for hours with no head collar or lead rope being groomed and bathed, she loves being pampered.

She has exceptional manners and ticks so many boxes for someone looking for a very safe easy Schoolmistress, with no ifs or buts.

She will hack out alone or in company through very heavy traffic without batting an eye lid. She is 100% safe, steady and collected when ridden in all paces across open fields, regardless of wether she is at the front, middle, back of the ride or on his own, she will not rush, pull, race or try an overtake even on the way home.

She is currently working in a hackamore as she has a gentle mouth and isn’t at all strong, you have 100% full control when ridden bareback in a head collar and lead rope, she is equally happy in a snaffle, she rides with absolutely no gadgets.
We prefer to ride a lot of our horses in hackamores or bit less bridles due to beginner rides sometimes balancing on the reins…… despite all our efforts.

She lives out in a mixed herd but is equally happy to be stabled, she keeps herself to herself and never causes any trouble, she has no marish traits, isn’t clingy, she is happy to be stabled and turned out on her own.

Has excellent manners with the farrier and currently barefoot, she is equally happy to be shoed.
She is excellent to catch, load with the farrier, dentist and vet.

She would give confidence to any rider/ handler when competing, cross country, showjumping, fun rides and beach rides.

She doesn’t need to be ridden every day she can go without work then be tacked up and ridden without any fuss, she is extremely low maintenance.
He has never been lame had laminitis, sweet itch or sarcoids. No lumps or bumps. No Marish traits.

Passes are annual Licence Inspection which is equivalent to a stage 2 vetting.

Looking for a five star private home to give someone the opportunity to purchase a safe and very sensible horse, with so much to offer.

We have a few horses and ponies available to purchase.

Absolute heartbreaking sale but we like to change our stock around every 2 years to give our fantastic horses and ponies the opportunity to experience a one to one home again.

Up to date with farrier, teeth, worming and worm counts and physio.

She has a passport, microchip and is fully vaccinated for flu and tetanus.

She has been with us for a year now, she’s a very sweet girl who loves a fuss and a cuddle. She is well mannered and quiet to handle.

I bought her unseen and she came to me with locking stifles, which the seller did not disclose this to me. Her stifles have never actually locked in the time she has been with me and I have been closely following my vet and physio’s advice on how to strengthen her. Which we have seen vast improvements in her movement in this time and because of her age there is still a chance that she could grow out of this if she continues to be worked in a way to help strengthen her. And ideally she would continue to live out 24/7 because moving is far better for her than standing in a stable, she is however very happy to be stabled.

She has been professionally re-broken and ridden away by myself in walk and trot and has now had a few canters. She’s a very willing little mare and exceptionally honest. She is green as you would expect but is very rarely silly or spooky. She is a lovely stamp for a traditional cob and is a true leg at each corner with still a couple of years growing and filling out to do.

I have decided to sell her as she is as she will make someone a lovely riding pony for someone who wouldn’t have been able to afford her fully produced and without the locking stifles. Her price reflects this, I would normally be selling a pony like her for double what I am asking for her. I feel there must be a lovely home out there willing to put the work in and give her the forever home that she deserves. Homes will be vetted and she will not be sold unseen.

NO dealers, NO time wasters, NO day dreamers, NO cheap project seekers, NO riding schools, NO loans, NO payment plans.

Forever homes ONLY please.

Serious enquiries ONLY

Messages preferred please as I am very busy right now, if I feel you potentially might be the right match/home for her calls can be scheduled

8-Year-Old Connemara Mare – "Shuana"
Sire: Glenmore Mirah Patrick | Dam Sire: Linsfort Barney

A beautifully bred, kind-natured Connemara mare now looking for a new home through no fault of her own.

About Shuana:
Shuana is an 8-year-old Class 1 Connemara who has been slowly and correctly produced. She has a gentle, genuine temperament and is easy to box, shoe, and clip.

She has attended riding club shows and training outings, and while she has a great attitude to work, she now needs to go on for further training with someone who has the time to bring her on. She's ready to progress and would thrive in a consistent program.

Breeding:
Sire: Glenmore Mirah Patrick
Dam Sire: Linsfort Barney
Her full sister was Reserve Champion in Scotland, and Shuana carries the same quality and potential.

She has had mild sweet itch symptoms in some summers, which have been easily managed.

Would suit a competent teen or adult rider looking for a kind, quality pony to bring on.

Forlan Sugar Honeypops

9 years old | 11.2hh | Registered Welsh Section A Mare

This lovely little mare is looking for a new home. Broken earlier this year, she has enjoyed a hugely successful novice season—without being overshown—and is now ready to continue her career.

She is the easiest pony in every way:
• No plugs, no calmers, no lunging she genuinely thrives off atmosphere
• Never needs warming up
• Always consistent and reliable

Despite being 9, don’t let her age put you off—she has very low mileage but isn’t a typical green youngster. She’s seen the world, has a wise head on her shoulders, and is a total pleasure to have around.

Hacks out confidently, alone or in company, and isn’t fazed by others cantering past.
She’s also previously been ridden off the lead with no issues and has bred a foal.

Temperament & Manners
• Laid back pony which never fizzes up
• Good to handle, load, catch, farrier etc.
• A true child’s best friend type
• Perfect for young handlers—she’s won classes and qualified for the National Welsh Championships

Showing Highlights
• Champion Novice & Supreme Ridden at Severn Valley WPCS
• Performance Medal Winner
- Overall ridden reserve supreme in Brecon County
• Moves for fun with fabulous presence in the ring
• Would also make a fantastic barren mare for in-hand showing

Breeding Potential

She has previously bred a foal and would make a top-class broodmare—she’s a lovely stamp of a pony with flat bone, abundance of feather, four whites, and striking colour not to mention fantastic bloodlines. Now hard to come by as the breeder is no longer breeding.

A very special pony who is a total breath of fresh air to produce. She’ll be someone’s pride and joy.

Genuine sad sale as children aren’t interested in lead rein showing enough for me to keep her and she’s too good to be wasted.

Direct from breeder a genuine farm grown on youngster. Halter broken and handled well as a foal then turned away to mature into the chap he is today!

Sadly offered for sale due to stock reduction and lack of time making doing them all the justice they deserve

Very kind natured and a real try his hardest people pleaser sort .

With the way he's accepting all his new life on our buys yard as well as daily handling, he will be very much ready to start his ridden career at a turn of age with the world at his feet.

A super all rounder prospect.

Would excel as an m&m worker.

Every day he progresses. Understanding what's being asked of him and amazes us with how much he wants to please.

Happy to stable or live out in a mixed herd.

Good to catch in the arena where he exercises daily - he's usual at the gate nagging to come back in once he's has his run and a stretch . A hardy type that's happy to live out 24/7.

When turned out with another he usually follows them onto the yard where he lets us catch him and lead him away to his stall.

Hasn't had masses of work done with his legs / feet buy is happy to have them groomed. He has been trimmed with sedation so feet are good to start his education.

A sturdy sort what would absolutely carry an adult all day. Workman like with a great front and masses of traditional old fashion bone.

Happy to tie up and he's proven rather 'chilled' while having scrub in the wash bay

Currently based on a super busy yard with lots of horses in and out and crazy dogs who have no idea about personal space. Needless to say he's taken it all in his stride.

Not worried about traffic having previously been grazed at a busy road side paddock he really isn't a worried or spooky sort
.
Not for a complete novice home due to his age and current education but a nice easy project sort for someone looking to break there first one in future

Straight moving and correct stepping action

No lameness issues or medical history at all.

Loaded and travelled to us on a 7.5 no issues and is said to have been on a trailer in the past when going to alternate grass tack.

West view Puddles, aka Pud!

Stunning Jet Black with White Socks, Welsh SecD, 2010 mare.

Our impeccable girl has just the best temperament, and ability. Looking for a quieter and slower life!

Pud is telling us she wants a quieter life. Instead of 3-5 days competition, she would prefer 1 days Eventing & jumping then a rest, not another two days Competing.

We think a variety of different jobs would suit her, as she loves Hacking and a good gallop and been pampered before a show.

She had an extensive Bsja Showjumping career, with Clinics, Hunting, UnAffiliated Eventing Schooling. A naturally talented mare, very well balance, that carries you into a jump, not a kick along at all. Shes loving, willing to please, loves doing a job, never unsafe.

She loves to be pampered before a competition, having a bath, mane and hoofs done, groomed, and home comforts. Especially her breakfast or tea with a big haylage net.

We also had one foal from Pud, by a Fantastic Kwpn Stallion, (VDLSilverstone) delivering a beautiful big foal, to a Warmblood Horse Stallion.

Puds Competition record :-

  • 2018 - 2019
  • Qualified 2nd Rounds Discovery
  • Nationals Championships
  • Numerous other Finals.
  • 2020
  • UnAffiliated Showjumping
  • Hunt Pony
  • 2021 - 2022
  • Broodmare (Chill Time)
  • 2023 - 25
  • Unaffiliated Eventing, Clinics and a small amount of Bsja Bronze League tracks.

If you think you could give this fantastically talented and loving mare, the best , quiet home, please get in touch.

Please note:-
The pedigree is correct, but the Welsh & Cob Soc don’t hold the DNA for the Sire Stallion, so they won’t issue an official Passport

KNOCKMA BOB HOPE

We have owned Bob for just over a year and bought him as an unseen, just backed 4 year old from Ireland.

My daughter has produced Bob on from a wobbly baby to a confident 5 year old.

We’ve taken him to dressage and showjumping competitions where he produced tidy tests and clear rounds (60cm, schooling 70cm)

He loads and travels on his own, or in company and will stand on the lorry quite happily at shows.

He is very well behaved on the ground. Good to shoe, catch and is up to date with teeth/vacs/worming.

He’s a very sensible and calm pony for his age, good in open spaces, happy to hack out alone or in company.

If his education is continued with the right jockey he will make a cracking WHP or the best pony club pony a child could wish for.

Billie-Jo is a fabulous pony with the most kind and wonderful temperament.

Billie-Jo is a 13.2 hand Cob pony, 11 years old who has spent the past year being ridden by a 13 year old rider and whom has been handled by an experienced riding instructor 5 days a week to keep up with her schooling.

Billie-Jo is ridden in a snaffle, has 3 consistent paces and carries herself in a lovely nature. She loves her jumping and will easily pop round a course. She has also taken part in some hunts in Ireland.

Billie-Jo enjoys going out hacking and is good in traffic. She is happy to go first or last in company as well as alone.

Billie-Jo is very chilled and laid back and easily adapts to busy environments. She adores being made a fuss of and will happily stand there and let you groom or tack her up.

Billie-Jo would make a cracking pony for a rider who is willing to spend time and to put their own stamp on her.

Billie-Jo is up to date with all her vaccinations, worming, teeth and physio. She is good to shoe and clip. Billie-Jo has been seen regularly by the saddler for refits when necessary and has never experienced any issues. She passed her 5 stage vetting with flying colours in October 2024.

This is a sad sale as unfortunately the owner has outgrown her too quickly. She is a perfect fit for a confident rider looking for a rewarding partnership. Billie-Jo deserves a 5 * home with someone who can give her the love and attention she deserves.

Billie-Jo will be sold with all her rugs and tack included in the price.

After 3 wonderful years together, and with a very heavy heart, it is time to offer this truly fantastic pony for sale, as Florence is sadly off 138’s this year. Frosty has taken Florence from Stepping Stones to jumping top tracks, with numerous wins and DC’S at 1.10m. Frosty is a powerful and responsive pony, with a fabulous canter. He is one of the fastest 138 ponies on the circuit.

He is well schooled and light off the leg, quick off the ground and has scope to burn. Frosty is very neat and careful over a fence. He tries his heart out and loves his job. He has far exceeded all our hopes and expectations, making many dreams come true for my daughter.

Outside of competing, Frosty is perfectly behaved in every situation. He loves hacking, both alone and in company, he loves XC, riding up the Malvern Hills and going to the beach!

He is excellent to shoe, load, travel, bath, clip, catch etc. He’s only ever been ridden and handled by my daughter. He is perfect at stay away shows and will stand patiently anywhere you ask him. Frosty is a cuddly boy with a beautiful temperament, truly one in a million.

We are looking for a knowledgeable home, where he will be loved and enjoyed as much as he has been here and in his previous home, who we are still in touch with. Frosty would suit a bold and competitive rider who wants a pony with a huge heart and an amazing jump!

Darcey is a very friendly cob mare, once she gets to know you she’ll be your best friend, she loves a good fuss and is always coming up to me in the field and when being caught, good for farrier, and loading.

said to have been driven in the past but we have not tried this ourselves otherwise she is a good little riding pony.

She is a project for someone to bring on a bit more with her jumping and fitness but this little mare has the right brain and attitude to continue her education. She would be suitable for a confident adult or child as she can be occasionally spooky or bolshy in new places on the ground, more of this can be discussed with potential interests, since being with me she’s come on a long way with her manners.

We’ve found out from a previous delear she was with, she was a great pony. We found her to be good in mixed herd or separate turnout.

Shes had no health issues whilst with me, apart from a reaction to fly bites, where she came out in a few hives, went away after we had a fly rug put on her and hasn’t returned since.

She’s your typical cob always on the lookout for a snack or some attention.

She has been to cross country and jumped everything with no problems. She can come on a long way to be a good pony club or mother daughter share with the right people.

Priced too sell, tack can be discussed.

Still available through absolutely no fault of his own, only due to not yet finding his perfect person!

A fantastic stamp of a cob with a great attitude, he is easy going and genuine without quirks, and absolutely loves people!

In the arena he is nicely forwards and supple with a lovely rhythm and balanced, expressive paces. He is established in basic lateral work. He is progressing everyday in his schooling and has a fabulous light contact.

Has been out to many dressage competitions and has just attended the summer BD Area festival competing at novice level, for which he behaved impeccably and was an absolute joy to take out. He stands at the trailer, is well behaved in the warm up and does not get silly or over excited. He always receives lovely comments from the judges and turns heads everywhere he goes! He has also been out to regular clinics in indoor and outdoor arenas.

Brilliant to hack and goes out alone and in company, really good in traffic and not phased by bikes, dogs etc.

He also likes jumping and pops small jumps at home. Has been out to a couple of hound exercises just for fun which he thoroughly enjoyed and was well behaved at. Doesn't get silly or hot up in a group.

Would suit someone looking for a safe confidence giving allrounder to compete in dressage, pony club, showing, go hunting or hacking. He really loves his dressage so it would be fantastic to see him go on to continue his dressage career with someone! Would suit an older rider or child or a para rider with more training.

Good to bath, clip, load, travel, groom, tack up and catch. Up to date with teeth, farrier, worming and vaccinations. Shod in front. No vices, lumps or bumbs.

Very reluctant sale. Please ring for more details, looking for a 5 star home for this perfect pony. Open to vetting

Jumping is Rosie’s favorite thing to do; she has the scope and brain to make a very talented show jumping or event pony. She would equally love a home that participates in Pony Club and wants to have tons of fun.
She is not quite the finished article, but at 7 years old she is improving every day. Rosie was backed as a 4-year-old and then had a foal as a 5-year-old, this means she is still green in her canter and jumping, however I have no doubt it won’t take long for her to ride her age.

Recently Rosie has been to an arena hire where she took everything in her stride and showed just how talented she is. She also recently went XC schooling, jumping ditches, water, steps and colored fences. Rosie didn’t hesitate at a single fence and jumped absolutely everything first time.
Good to load, travel and was happy to be left alone on the lorry even when another pony was taken away. Super easy to handle and very friendly. She has recently seen the dentist, physio, farrier and saddle fitter, and was well behaved for all of them.

When Rosie first came, she did put her back up and scoot forward when getting on. This now only happens very occasionally and I am sure she will completely grow out of this. But a rider that is happy to walk on a loose rien for a few minutes before asking her to do any proper work would suit her best.

She does have a saddle that is fitted to her that can be bought upon separate negotiations.

Domino is a kind and gentle pony that has proven to be great fun. He is a pony that just wants love, food and some adventures. He would be a brilliant second or third pony for a child that wants to jump up to 75/80 and with time (and a bit less weight) I am sure he would fly around some bigger fences. Or he would equally make a brilliant pony for a small adult or teenager.

I personally think a lot of this pony and will be sad to see him go, but I can’t wait for him to make someone happy. He has recently been to an arena hire where he showed just how easy and willing, he is - jumping every fence with a cheeky smile on his face. He has also recently been Xc schooling, where he jumped ditches, steps, water, coloured fences and even jumped into water.

Domino is good to hack alone and in company and happy to go in front or behind. He is good in open spaces, never strong or silly. Although ultra safe Dominoe isn’t slow or lazy and has three good forward paces, with a lovely jump.

He has recently seen the dentist, saddle fitter and farrier and behaved well for all of them.

No vices, lumps, bumps or quirks.

He comes with a fitted saddle, which is included in his price.

Ultimate Competition/Pony Club All-rounder

Quality 14.1, 10yr old, Dapple Grey Registered Connemara

Lizzies Personality - Lizzie is a beautiful ‘person’ inside and out. She is calm, kind and has a lovely disposition. Lizzie will look after her rider. Lizzie is a very affectionate mare. She is perfect to clip, shoe, load, travel, dentist and physio.

Lizzie is not spooky and hacks out alone and in company in the busiest of traffic.

Lizzie maintains her concentration and doesn’t bat an eyelid at JCBs, large lorries and tractors a few feet away from her, dogs running around, kids shouting and galloping around and rides consistently in strong winds or heavy rain. She literally doesn’t care! Her disposition means that she copes well at the busiest of competitions.

Lizzie under saddle - Lizzie has competed in all disciplines. Though fun and nicely forward going, Lizzie is not spooky. Lizzie is snaffled mouthed and we feel best suited as a third pony to make use of her ability, willingness and current age.

Showjumping – Lizzie does her very best to please and look after her rider. Lizzie is jumping around a course of 95cm jumps at the minute at home. (Scope to go higher) Lizzie doesn’t stop, has a great natural jumping canter and has the willingness and athleticism to jump off any stride (even if it’s wrong) has been winning all the classes in the 80 cm and 90cm locally.

Cross Country – Lizzie has successfully competed at Hunter Trials and One Day Events. She has partaken in numerous cross country training clinics, and with her old owners she did Farm Rides and hound exercises with the Readyfield Bloodhounds. Loves water and happily jumps 80cm at local hunter trials. In the ribbons for SDPC intermediate hunter trials every time! Cross country machine!

Flat work – Lizzie works very hard in her flat work and always tries to please. She has competed dressage at arena uk area qualifiers placing really well in a big class. Has flatwork schooling with her trainer 3 times a week.

Breeding - Bred out of Killaloe Buachaill Mor and Monaghanstown Girl. Grandsire is top showjumper, Templebready Fear Bull. Lizzie show name: Kinnemara Girl.

Lizzie is up-to-date with vaccinations, physio, teeth and the dentist.

Lizzie really is a pony of a lifetime. Only 5* homes will be considered.

Lizzie comes with a full wardrobe and custom made saddle and bridle.

Serious enquiries only please.

Would also be perfect for a mother/daughter share. Perfect as second pony.
