Rusty has been with us for 3 years, however is now very sadly out of a job. He has been the perfect schoolmaster, having competed in both Pony Club & Riding Club teams, always being a favourite. He has qualified for numerous championships , including BS nationals, NSEA and much more, in addition to excelling in all other activities.

He has also been to multiple senior pony club camps and behaved impeccably throughout - both on the ground and whilst ridden, completing all pony club disciplines.

Rusty moves very well, having 3 correct and naturally rhythmical paces, always performing an exceptional test, something I feel he would excel at in the future. He has an exceptional jump with a super technique, however we feel he is happiest jumping up to 90cm.

Rusty hacks alone and in company, he frequently hacks through Bradgate park with numerous deer.

Very easy to do; box, bath, plait, clip, mane pull, farrier etc. Used to standing on the box all day at a show, as well as stay away shows etc

Rusty is a true all rounder, who will turn his hoof to anything. I would love to see him give as much fun to a competent teen or small adult.

Very sad decision so serious enquiries only please for a horse we think the world of. Home is more important than price.

Rusty does have loss of use, however this doesn’t affect him, or had any complications etc . We are very happy to openly discuss this to serious enquiries.

Bobby has taken my daughter through 60cm, 70cm and 80cm SJ with numerous wins and placings and is now very sadly outgrown. He is a great competition pony for a child because he jumps all fillers, turns really well and can easily be pushed on in the jump off, but he is not strong and comes back easily.

He has also done Pony Club rallies, including XC rallies where he was well behaved in open spaces with the other ponies (good with water and ditches). We've done two hunter trials competitions with him and he has won them both.

He went to Pony Club residential Camp last summer and had a great week. Did jumping, flatwork, hacking, mounted games etc (Not bothered by any of the mounted games equipment). Individually won the PC Area 70cm SJ qualifier last year and had one of the fastest jump off times at the Regional Championships. Won the 70cm PC competition at Addington last month.

Jumped NSEA competitions and was 70cm Bucks Champion in 2023 and runner-up this year. Jumped at the Hickstead NSEA Champs, coming 1st in the 70cm and 3rd in the 80cm.

Numerous other wins and placings with us at 60cm, 70cm, 80cm. Has over £1000 BS winnings with previous owners.

Lives in or out (currently out 24/7). A very competitive showjumping pony, who also has attended pony club rallies and camp.

He has absolutely done the job for us for the last two years, now ready to give another child fun and rosettes.

All tack and rugs available.

Please no timewasters as this is absolutely killing me to write.

11.2hh Palamino mare she is 13 years old. Before us she was in a riding stables for six months. She hunted with previous owners.

We have had her nearly four years and she has been a wonderful first pony for my daughter, but she is now far too big for her and wants something more forward going. We have done all pony club activities and shows on her and camps and she is just amazing. I have loads of videos and pictures of her i can send anyone.

She will stand really still when tied up for hours and hours and won’t move when being groomed etc and I never worried about my daughter being out with her on the yard without me from being 7.

She is a true first ridden 99% of the time but can occasionally have a buck, mostly when fresh obviously. This has never bothered us as she is so so good the majority of the time she makes up for those odd moments. She can be a mare with other ponies and bossy. No vices or injuries and lives on fresh air. Never had lammy.

She is good to shoe (fronts only) and clip load etc she doesn’t have any other bad points she is just the most amazing pony we could have ever wished for. We would keep her but she would be wasted and needs to be another child’s princess pony and give them the pleasure she has to us. It will actually break y heart to sell her and I would want to keep in contact with whoever buys her and will be making sure the home is perfect.

She is 9,000 tack can be available with her along with rugs etc at an extra cost, we are based near Melton Mowbray Leicestershire

'Choccy' is simply one of the nicest BS ponies you'll find. Never a bother, loads, clips, shoes, and travels without fault, and is an absolute pleasure to have on the yard

Competes competitively in BS at 80/90, and consistently wins at NSEA/PC 80's and 90's competitions

He's also qualified for the Pony Club showjumping championships, the NSEA showjumping championships, and qualified for the NSEA Hickstead main ring final.

He would suit a rider coming off 128's, looking for their first proper BS pony or something that can consistently place at NSEA or Pony Club competitions.

We wish we could have him longer as we love him to bits, but due to his rider being out of 138's at the end of this year, it's time for him to find his new jockey. Only a proper 5* home will be considered.

He's also qualified for the pony club showjumping championships, the NSEA showjumping championships.

Ruben is one of the kindest ponies you will ever meet. He doesn’t have a nasty bone in his body. This is an extremely sad sale as rider is now off ponies. We have owned him for nearly five years and my daughter has taken him from a novice to the super competition pony he is now.

He is fit, sound, healthy and ready to compete with a new rider. He is a safe sensible responsive ride.

Has jumped all of the fox and newcomer second rounds last year. He finished in the top eight for a few of the fox second rounds this year. He also competed in the newcomers second rounds the year before.

He is brave and never stops. He also has all of his fox double clears for this year.

He has done some unaffiliated eventing. He schools really well on the flat and would make a very competitive event pony. He would do a lovely dressage test, loves XC and would excel in the showjumping phase.

He will hack out on his own or in company. He is good on the road ad in open spaces and very safe.

He has no vices and is everyones favourite on the yard.

He is good for the farrier, clip, load, travel and is exactly the same at home or at a show. He is a true gentleman.

Clare River Annabell (Silver) is a 148 (JMB life height measured) Connemara Mare with excellent breeding.

Silver came to us as a well produced 5 year old, and has taken her rider from 70's to her first 1.10 (going clear and took the win).

She is a clear round machine and is definitely a hoys prospect as she is still in Newcomers.

She is perfect to load, shoe, travel and very good ground manners.

Does need to be sedated or twitched to clip. Never sick or sorry.

Only selling as daughter is moving on to horses. This pony could simply be a true star of the future.

Silva has taken my daughter from jumping 70cms to now jumping 1.10m+

Bronze League finalist in 2022 (placed 6th in UK)

Highest Points scored, winning the Bronze League (Wales) 1st April - 30 September 2023

However, since Summer 2023, my daughter has had a huge growth spurt and is now too big and too tall for this pony and the mare just doesn't like it. We have to admit that Silva needs a smaller jockey.

Silva was ridden by a smaller rider at the recent April Mixed British Show-jumping show at the David Broome Event Centre was back to her best - 4 x double clears at 75 and 80cm and in the placings each time - 2 x 1st (75 Open) and 2 x 4th (80 Open).

Being a schoolmistress, the pony likes to 'nanny' her rider, look after them and show them the ropes.

We have mainly concentrated on show-jumping and she will jump 70 - 1m all day, every day, and very capable at 1.10m. We have also taken part in lots of Junior Academy events.

Silva is forward going but not spooky - happily canters over the wooden bridge in the Derby classes at Wales and West (David Broome Event Centre)

She is a great all-rounder, lovely to hack.

Good on the ground. Excellent to load (both trailer and lorry), clip and shoe. Teeth done September 2023.

Home is very important for this special pony, for her to move on and continue teaching her next little superstar.

Based in West Wales, near Cardigan.

Blue has taken my nervous 13 year old daughter from being scared to trot cross poles, to schooling 90cm XC with ease.

She competes at 60-70cm, does a lovely dressage test and loves XC.

She schools 1m at home - don't be put off by her age! She is fabulous on fun rides, safe cantering in the field with other horses. Has been out with the hounds.

She is great hacking, will hack alone but prefers company. She is unfazed by traffic, currently living on a cattle farm so used to heavy machines and farm animals.

Blue is the same at home or out and about. She loves a groom and a fuss. Brilliant to load and clip, great for dentist and vet. Equally happy to live in or out.

Has previously had one bout of laminitis when living on unsuitable grass, but this is easily managed and hasn't caused any issues since. Other minor medical issue will be discussed. Open to any vetting.

Very very sad sale as daughter now moving on to horses. Homes will be checked and we would love to stay in touch.

Will come with bridle and rugs, saddle negotiable.

BADGER

Super cool, 2014 black sports cob standing at 14.3hh.

Badger is an ideal second pony, he has so much pony club, riding club and competition experience and is a total confidence giver. Badger is a saint to handle on the ground, kind to be around and completely trustworthy.

Badger has three lovely paces on the flat, a squeeze along ride, he will work in a lovely shape in all three paces, does a lovely test and a snaffle mouth. Badger is also happen to be ridden on the buckle, he will ride off the voice and will come down a peg for a less able rider.

Jumping wise, he is bold, brave and super careful, he jumps coloured fillers as well as he does crosscountry fences, takes his rider and looks after them even if they get it wrong.

Hacking wise he is super, he has hacked in company lots more than he has alone, we have hacked him alone and he has been superb, if he was a first ridden and was allowed to stand at the gate we feel he would probably be nappy.

We feel badger would be best suited as a second pony / mother daughter share. He is a fun cob, and should be in a home where he has fun!

Open to any vet or trainer

£9500, saddle & bridle included.

Paddy - 14hh well bred registered Connemara Gelding 14yrs by Templebready Bo’Sun

Experienced PC / competition pony, done all activities with much success. A true asset to all the NSEA school teams and pony club teams, a fabulous pony that has and will take children through the levels successfully. Very experienced with a great proven history and a much loved pony.

Done plenty of showjumping, 70cm - 1m classes, scope for more. Unfazed by all types of fillers, very honest and genuine. Super BS starter pony, Bronze league etc. Plenty of jump to look after himself and the rider. Has competed BS as a 138cm pony.

Rides nicely on the flat, well schooled and does a lovely dressage test. Works correctly and would do pure BD. Has done county level working hunter classes and RIHS classes and absolutely loves XC. Jumps all types of XC fences, water and ditches.

A great fun, talented, competitive pony, giving experience to kids wanting to progress and win prizes.

Hacks out and seen all types of traffic / open spaces.

True to type and will also carry a small adult comfortably, therefore suitable for all members of the family to love and enjoy.

2011 Rynnstone Thunder (aka Finn) is a jumping pony through and through. This super pony has brought me from a very inexperienced rider only jumping 80/90cm all the way to jumping the biggest tracks 135cm in only 2 years. We both only stepped up to the 130cm/ 135cm classes last summer, where Finn tried his absolute best for me whenever he could. We all absolutely adore him and he is only for sale as I am off ponies now. He is extremely careful and does not like to touch a pole.

Although he has jumped top tracks he is equally as happy to step down the heights and jump lower classes. Finn has represented Wales at the Scottish home pony in 2022 and at the Welsh home pony last year. He has qualified for Nationals both years we have had him, placing 5th in the Members Cup final last year. He is a forward ride but easy to shoe, clip, travel etc. Finn is a green passport Connemara pony and has an FEI passport.

Only the best of homes for this superstar. Sensibly priced to sell
Open to any vetting. He is fit and healthy ready for his next jockey.

Based in West Wales with excellent trail facilities. Loads more videos and pictures upon request.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896

  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Must be at least 5 years old and 15.1hh or larger. Soundness and temperament most important, we are happy to do any necessary schooling and training with the right horse so being green is not an issue. Must be good to handle on the ground.
The horse will preferably have a good walk for our graded independent riders. Great, knowledgable, 5* home offered within Riding school.
Herd turnout, with stabling possible. Lots of interesting and varied work including dressage competitions and fun rides,  not just plodding round on a lead rein! Ideally close to Wiltshire, bit willing to travel to view if not too far away.
