  • Experienced owner with all year turnout/field shelters, stabling at home
  • Small herd of retired ponies and youngsters for company
  • Top priority is always my horses mental and physical wellbeing

I am looking for a new horse to live with my daughters retired ponies and my youngsters at home in North Devon.

The horse I’m looking for must be experienced, happy to hack out on busy country lanes, nanny my youngsters, do a occasional lesson, fun rides, beach rides, horse holidays and taking rides out on Exmoor, so it must be a sensible lead horse type that is level headed, happy to hack alone, does not hot up too much in company, forward going, good in traffic and around livestock, easy to load on my own and content travelling. 14.2 - 15.2hh and not too wide (as I find this uncomfortable). 7 - 15yrs happy to loan if older.

I’m 56 yrs old 5’5 and 10.5 stone ish, my horses are a huge part of my life they live at home, I have turnout with field shelters, barn with internal stables and use of an arena, so fully adaptable to meet the needs of individuals.

I travel my horses in a 4.5 horsebox.

I have a good budget for the right horse or loan with BHS agreement, if you have anything that is suitable please get in touch.

Very sad sale of our lovely little lead rein pony. He has coming back from being out on loan and I don’t have anyone small enough for him any longer so he looking for his new home.

Goldie is an 11 hand Welsh section A gelding, 10 years. He has been with us three years, he was my son’s first pony (son three year old at that time). He has always been a lead rein pony, he has been played around with off the lead and he is fine but he would need education further to come off the lead.

On the lead he is super, listens to the handler not bothered by the smallest of tots bouncing around. We have had him out showing where he has always been in the top two he has a lovely movement.

He absolutely loves hacking, he hacks both alone and in company, does prefer company but settles quickly on his own.

He lives in or out - he has lived out for the last 2 years (we moved to our own place). He’s great with kids and dogs, my kids bring him in and do everything with him, easy to bath and clip load ext.

He leads by both a handler and from another horse. Goldie is a really lovely little pony, he does have the Welsh cheeky character about him, he’s very entertaining.

He doesn’t need riding daily we often left him for a couple of weeks at a time. He hasn’t done much schooling for the last two years he has mainly been hacked, both in road and off road.

Goldie is super low maintenance he doesn’t require any feeds, he gets a token in the morning but only because the others do.

Goldie does have a heart murmur- we didn’t know this until after we had purchased him at a routine dental appointment. His murmur doesn’t bother him at all and happy to discuss this further He is up to date with everything.

The best home wanted for him, comes with rugs and bridle -no loans sorry

Bertie Basset

7year old bay gelding ride and drive.

12hh approx

Up to date with worming, farrier and dentist.

Driving

Bertie is fantastic driving pony, will drive out on his own or in company.
Has attended many drives proving to be sensible at all times.
Has been driven in a small 4 wheeler and also 2wheeler.
Been driven by all the family for children to adult some who are novices.
Never been or offered to be sharp or silly.
Would make lovely little cob for someone who does showing as would make lovely little trolly cob.

Riding

Bertie is great on the lead rein, is willing and showing that he really enjoys this type of work.
Has been ridden by a range of ages 3,5,7 year old children.
Within time and work I would say Bertie would make a fantastic cob pony to produce to show.
His movement is straight and correct.

He hasn't been spoilt and sickened to showing or schooling - I believe he is a contender for TOYS and would go far with the correct family.

Was taken to local show other week in hand just for experience, was calm and stood at the lorry with no issues.

Was placed with some very encouraging comments.

No vices, loads and travels like a dream.

Easy to do on the ground again handled by children.

Fairywood Charmer

Fabulous 13hh 5-year-old Registered Welsh Section B chestnut gelding. Sire: Waxwing Glimmer

A forward-thinking, responsive ride. Great to hack alone or in company and always tries his best to please his rider.

Loves jumping and is already showing plenty of scope for the future. He’s proving to be a fantastic all-rounder. Goes well on the flat with 3 balanced paces and has lovely soft mouth making him a great prospect for pony club, showjumping, and dressage. He would also make a fabulous show pony.

Friendly, affectionate and loves attention. Easy to handle, great to catch, load and good with the farrier (he is barefoot).

While he is sensible, he’s still young and needs a rider who can guide him when needed. He would be best suited to a small, confident rider who can continue his education and have fun.

Heartbreaking sale as we have owned since he was 2 years old. We wish we could keep him forever but my teenage daughter has outgrown him.

We would love to see him to reach his full potential as a family/ pony club pony!

Meet ‘Minnie Me’! She may be small but everything about her is pretty mega!

Minnie had the most fabulous temperament and is so easy to handle in and out of the stable. Has done lead rein and first ridden but would also make a superb jumping starter Pony as she jumps anything you point her at!

She’s responsive off the leg but very soft in the mouth. Doesn’t buck, rear, bolt etc. good to load shoe etc. She’s the perfect family friend and loves to be fussed over by the children. She has an incredible jump and will jump from anywhere you put her, she would make a good starter pony for a child looking to go out and start competing.

Easy in every way.

Cute as a Button (Cassie) was bought for my daughters second pony. She is a 13.1 Cob with a bold and sweet temperament. She is only for sale as my daughter has grown quicker than Casssie has and she now needs a bigger steed. My daughters words were ' I'll stop growing so we can keep her'

Cassie has done loads of hacking with us and is unphased by all of the outside world. She is happy to lead the hack or be anywhere else. She will WTC easily and has popped small logs when out with us. She has not done a lot of arena work so I am advertisng her as green in that area. Not that she can not do it, it is just down to us spending most of our time on hacks.

She is barefoot, just been trimmed. and is great with the farrier. Lives out all the time in a mixed herd. If someone is looking for a super easy pony to do that will be a lot of fun for the children then Cassie will not disappoint. Can be sold with tack as an extra.

I do not have many photos or videos of her being ridden to send over. So it would be great if people could come and see and ride her to see how great she is. Located near Andover, Hampshire

BRYNBACK PEGGY SUE

Registered DUN WPBR mare. Welsh section D x Up to height 13.3H rising 9 years.

Low mileage, no previous history known. I have owned Peggy sue since autumn of last year and I feel she is best suited to a hacking/ pleasure riding home. She's a forward plod type won't challenge anyone in a race but she'd win a beauty contest. We have dabbled at in-hand showing where she was foot perfect and goes very well in-hand potentially this is something she has done previously. She's a pleasure to be around.

To ride Peggy sue is responsive to the leg. She is wide as she is tall and forward not strong or silly. Enjoys going for a blast and hacks alone and in company. Not traffic shy however we are very rural so haven't seen any red busses yet! She's the sort you ride on the buckle the whole way. Goes first or last and happy with the dogs in tow ! Will pop logs and climb steep hills ..

Excellent to catch, groom, lead, bath, load, shoe etc slightly fussy to clip due to the noise of the clippers but the clipping part fine. Currently barefoot and wormed to date. Lives in or out in a mixed herd. No blemishes or sarcoids, allergies or scars. Teeth have been done this year.

**Peggy has shown to be girth shy not always and it's easily managed and kept at bay with simply not rushing. She is a statue to mount and won't move till asked. At worst she will swish her tail and raise her back slightly so would potentially put off a nervous or novice home. Ideally looking for a home who wants a horse they can pick up and drop, enjoy long rides out with friends and a friend to fuss over. Or equally she would be a fabulous broodmare due to her temperament.

Full up 14.2 7 year old Irish sport horse mare- clover hill lines

Clover is a super fun loving pony that loves nothing better than to jump and have fun. She is not quite the finished article but at 7 years old she is improving every day.

She has been out competing at 80/90cm showjumping- proving to be a dream to take out . Absolutely no hassle at all, easy to load, great to travel and happy to stand on or off the lorry.

She loved Xc schooling proving to be very brave and unbothered by water, steps, ditches etc. - I’m sure she will be a very competitive PC / grassroots eventer.

She has attended pony club camp
- where she was excellent , behaving impeccably.

We do hack her on her own, but our roads are very busy and she is more confident in company- she is getting better every time.

No vices and up to date with farrier, injections, physio and teeth

Clover is ready to give her new jockey, whether a teenager or small adult, hours of fun

Vetting- unfortunately clover was 1/10 lame on her off fore on a small circle on hard ground. It is important to note that the ground was stoney and on a slope, so it could simply be she is unbalanced on such a small circle. There is a high chance that in a week or 2 she will show no sign of this. The vet was very clear that it will probably have no impact on her. Once I have received it her vetting report can be viewed.

For this reason clover is open to offers around mid four figures.

£4,500 ONO
  • Appaloosa
  • Gelding
  • 11 years
  • 13.1 hands
  • Alfie is the perfect companion for someone looking to have fun
Not suitable as a first pony.

Alfie is the perfect companion for someone looking to have fun. Although he has three beautiful paces and showring potential, Alfie’s heart lies in goofing about. He adores learning and performing tricks and has an incredibly sharp and active mind. He gets bored sitting in the paddock and enjoys having a job to do.

Super hacking pony, he could explore for days! Great in traffic and on roads, doesn't bat an eye at any farm machinery, but he is on the sensitive side when it comes to oddly shaped bushes, therefore needs somebody confident to hold his hand.

His flatwork is strong, I could see him making a cute little dressage pony. Goes 99% of the time in a bitless bridle or rope halter, and the other 1% in a snaffle. He has a lovely jump, although it’s not his favourite activity. Jumped to 80cm with rider.

No dirt (rear/buck/bolt etc), the most he will do is stamp his front foot if he is dissatisfied.

Alfie is an absolute Labrador, he loves humans and being mischievous. Suited to a laidback home where his personality is able to shine through and he won't be forced to do something he doesn’t enjoy. Alfie is incredibly capable, his talents range from liberty work all the way to lateral.

Will only consider a home with other horses. Kind, experienced owners are a must.

Home more important than price.

Well put together. Machno Chamomile is bred to be a competition pony, but has the temperament to be a nice allrounder/PC pony too!

Been out to Prelim dressage, scoring 64% at her first outing and proving very sensible. Slowly brought on, going out to clinics and started popping a few fences. Bold and unphazed by fillers etc. Been XC schooling for experience, never pushed or overfaced, happily popping up and down steps, through the water and over a variety of little fences.

Good fun pony - not silly or whizzy but enjoys her job. Ready for a competent teen to take her on and start getting her out and about. Equally would be a lovely quality type for a small adult to enjoy and produce further. Potential in any sphere. Definitely won't exceed 148.

Easy to do in all ways. Hacks alone and in company. Sensible but still green due to her age - no novices. Typical Welshy - passes big traffic, will hack on the buckle etc - but will still occasionally spook at a leaf that's looked at her funny!

Born July 2020, so not quite 5 yet. Out of a welsh B mare, by Machno Dollar Edition who is Sec D x Oldenburg, with lines going back to Sandro Hit & the dam of Machno Carwyn.

Ginger 14.1/2hh, 8 year old mare. Ginger is a fantastic little mare who loves her job and would make an excellent all round or pony club pony.

We took her to Richmond a few weeks ago and her first time out over XC jumps and she loved it, so bold and brave.

Currently schooling round 80/90s and is keen as can be, really loves her job.

Her schooling is coming on great but is a little green in her flat work but still aims to please, this is through no fault of her own just lack of no arena at home.

She is excellent to hack alone or in company, and is safe and sane in open spaces, not bothered by any traffic or farm machinery.

Happy in a mix herd, easy to catch and handle. She is good with the farrier and dentist.

Up to date with teeth and vaccinations.

She travels well and is happy to stand in trailer but can take a few minutes to walk in the trailer sometimes.

She is a typical mare and can pull a face but that is about it, equally loves a cuddle and will stand and be brushed/fussed all day long.

Ginger is a very special to us and finding the right home and rider is the most important thing so no daydreamers/ joy riders.

More of a second pony as she is a forward ride although always snaffle mouthed so no novices please.

Only for sale as she is sadly outgrown

Reduced to find the perfect home. Please note, Eclipse is a sports pony who is nicely forward with good brakes. She enjoys hacking but is not just a happy hacker. She has the potential to excel in dressage and show jumping/eventing so please don’t enquire if you are looking for a plod!

Passed a 5 stage vetting on 09/05/25.

Eclipse is a 6yr old Lusitano x Welsh mare with excellent breeding and a full AES passport.

Her sire, the cremello PSL Cartier II, was bred in Spain by Sergio Martin Dressage from traditional Veiga lineage and the dam, Brynseion Delilah, carries the respected Parvadean and Synod lines.

Eclipse has been produced slowly and correctly by a professional rider and is really enjoying her work with the scope to progress further with the right co-pilot. She has 3 balanced paces and an expressive trot. Eclipse hacks alone and in company and is happy to go first or last being unphased by traffic.

Eclipse has recently started jumping and is a real trier with a good technique into and over a fence.

Eclipse is a good do-er and can live in or out. She gets on well with both mares and geldings and isn’t mareish. She is currently barefoot and has excellent hooves and is good to do in all ways. She travels well and you wouldn’t know you had her in the box/trailer. She is a real ‘people pony’ and loves being pampered and helping with the poo picking.

Eclipse’s full history is known. She has no lumps, bumps or blemishes and has never ailed in the 3 years I’ve had her. She is now looking to go out and have some fun and continue her education with her forever friend!

Eclipse is open to any vets/trainers and can be viewed in Yorkshire.
