Thistledown Just a Gent

5-year-old Top Class Welsh Section C gelding. A stunning palomino with four white socks, he is a real head-turner and destined for the show ring!

A lovely quality type with good limb and feather, a beautiful front, and a very pretty head with a kind eye. He is exceptionally well bred by the renowned Thistledown Stud. He moves for fun! He is straight moving with no vices or lumps or bumps.

Recently broken to ride, he is green but genuine and willing. He is beginning to show potential free schooling over a fence.

He now needs a knowledgeable home that can offer consistency to continue his education. He has huge potential and will go to the top in the right hands, but due to his age and stage, he is not suitable for a novice. He is a perfect unseen fresh face! He lunges and long reins for miles, I feel he also has huge potential as a driving pony!

He is an absolute pleasure to have around. Lives in or out. Up to date with teeth and feet.

This is a very sad sale due to lack of time, so finding the right home is a priority. Sensibly priced for a pony of this quality.

Please no time wasters or video collectors—genuine enquiries only.

Very smart and correct registered Sec A mare, will make a wonderful all-rounder or ideal for showing. Also a brilliant companion.

Has never kicked or bitten, forward thinking attitude and says yes to everything we ask of her.

Lightly backed due to being used as a companion until last year. Long reining round fields and roads happily, has been ridden around the yard and hacked out in company and alone. Naturally works in a nice outline.

Requires food to catch her in a big field but fine in smaller areas and this has improved with regular and consistent work.

Vaccinated, up to date teeth, worming etc. Ready to go on and find a job now.

No novices, she is only recently backed and I have no doubt she will be an amazing kids pony with mileage but is not suitable for a wobbly unbalanced child yet. Ideal project for a small teenager, my 12yr old has done a lot of work with her and happily catches her, tacks her up and long reins and rides her.

Bridle and rugs available by separate negotiation.

Our lovely little cob is looking for a new home, sadly outgrown he needs a new rider to enjoy his cheeky character!

Has done PC/Rallies/Clinics/Group hacks.

Bombproof hack, loves being out and doesn’t mind any kind of traffic whether it’s tractors, milk wagons, bikes etc. Will hack alone or in company. Does whinny until settled with family but soon relaxes. (He doesn’t do this with us anymore).

Barefoot and great for farrier
Happy to be clipped
Handled by 11 year old, she does everything with along with catching in field (easy, no treats needed)
Stands quietly to be groomed by all children, tacked up by children and loves a fuss.

Lives in and out and easy on hay and grass +
Balancer.

Up to date with vaccines/worming/teeth.

Great in the arena but he is strong for a stocky lad! So requires a strong confident rider. Possibly a small adult.

Never nasty (no bucks/rears).

He loves hacking and has a cracking jump and loves to jump!

We don’t ride him in open fields as my daughter isn’t confident.

Looking for a fab family! Very sad sale!

Pony Club Pony Allrounder 13.2hh Mare

Ref #: 404300

  • Fun pony for a teen looking to compete and do Pony Club
£5,750 ONO
  • Sports Pony
  • Piebald

  • 16 years
  • 13.2 hands
  • Loves jumping and has competed in all disciples
  • Hunted 2025/26 season
  • Fun pony for a teen looking to compete and do Pony Club

Honey is a 13.2hh much loved sports cob. We have had her for 3 years and during that time she has done the following:

Hunter trials
Hunted 2025/26
Pony Club Camp
Showjumping
Eventing
Clinics
Arena hires
Hacking (in company and alone)
Pony Club Games
Handy Pony

She was bought for my daughter to do all PC activities on and she’s done that so well. They have competed locally and usually come home with a rosette. Honey has a hugely scopey jump and she can comfortably compete round 90cm SJ courses. XC she jumps 90 in training and at clinics but we usually compete her in 80’s. She has no issues with fillers, water, brushing fences, ditches etc and is bold as brass on the hunting field. Shes fast against the clock and a careful jumper, rarely will she touch a pole. She will excel in BS. She enjoys all Pony Club activities and isn’t phased by large groups of people and ponies. She doesn’t spook at Handy Pony tasks.

Shes barefoot at the moment but has been shod when we was in heavy competition work and hunting. Ridden in a snaffle in all disciplines. Loads herself into boxes, travels in a lorry, 3.5tonne van and trailer no problem at all. Easiest pony at a day show or a stay away as she’ll stand and eat her haynet quite happily. Easy to clip, stands happily for as long as it takes. Good for farrier too. Lunges well, and is lunged by a teen and an 11 year old. She’s managed by children daily. Easy to catch. Stands to be washed. Currently lives out 24/7 but has been in over night and copes fine either way.

Hacks out alone or in company. Goes first or last on hacks, my children have hacked her along roads and she’s not bothered by any traffic. We live on a farm so she’s exposed to tractors, diggers, quads, drones etc and we are on a flight path for the RAF so she’s not phased by helicopters or low flying planes. She was happy mid field or at the back when hunting.

She is only for sale as my youngest daughter isn’t keen to compete and her rider is moving into a 14.2hh pony now due to her age.

Comes with a full wardrobe including: English leather saddle (fitted to her), English leather bridle, travel boots, turnout and stable rugs and fly rugs.

Ryefield Lady Pippa (Taincwm Yolanda X Hilgarth Lucky Legend)

5 year old chestnut mare out of Taincwm Yolanda (Taincwm Welsh model X caerneuad hywel) and by royal Welsh ridden C champion and multi times hoys qualified Hillgarth Lucky Legend.

Lady is currently standing at 13hh

She was shown as a foal and yearling with success. Lady was broken last year and ridden away in walk, trot and canter and has popped a jump on the lunge showing good promise!

She’s hacked out up our private lane and round open fields and is never strong or silly. She is super easy to do and has a lovely willing attitude to anything asked of her.

Lady was turned away at the end of last year so is currently living out and not in work but with her lovely easy temperament she would not be a problem to get back into a ridden routine.

Lady is only available due to my work commitments and a lack of time so a loving 5 star home is very important.

She has a lovely kind temperament and has always been around children and I feel she would suit a family home/ Junior jockey or equally a lovely flat/worker pony for a small adult

Very sad sale of a homebred pony so a good home is the most important thing .

Good to do in all ways up to date with all vaccinations.

Based Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

  • Currently standing between 14.2hh and 14.3hh and bum high – should finish around 15hh
  • Backed and riding away sensibly, loving hacking out, ready to produce. Up to date with everything.

A very sweet young mare with a nice start and the breeding and temperament to develop into a fab small allrounder, Oti is confident and kind. A compact type with a willing attitude, backed and straightforward to do, she’s not been rushed and has not been jumped, a genuine blank canvas ready for someone to produce and put their own stamp on her.

Owned since she was 1 (direct from her breeder at Tremayne Irish Draughts in Cornwall), she’s a fabulous and much-loved little mare and she wouldn’t be going anywhere if she’d grown a hand bigger – sadly she’s just not grown big enough for me.

She has recently been professionally backed proving very straightforward to do, and is currently riding away sensibly at her backing yard in Cornwall.

Oti is already a pleasure to have out and about:
- She’s done plenty of groundwork including lots of long lining. Easy on the ground, on the yard, in the stable.
- Professionally backed and riding away very sensibly for her age – she’s brave, willing, unspooky and not phased by things, should make a proper ‘have a go at anything’ sort.
- Hacking out and genuinely enjoys it – is the same whether she goes first or last and has been out alone around the farm with no problems.
- Confident being in the indoor school but still extremely green.
- Good in all traffic seen so far, including tractors.

She is:
- Level-headed, biddable, and should prove easy to produce.
- A friendly people person, generally wants to be with you and involved in whatever you’re doing.
- Good with other horses, easy with any routine or management.
- Great with the farrier, has always been barefoot and regularly trimmed, up to date with this.
- Great with the vet, up to date with vaccinations, teeth, worming. Wolf teeth removed a couple of years ago.
- Fine in her stable and with being left whilst others go out.
- Easy to catch: has always come to call, follows you around the field.
- Confident with new experiences & takes things in her stride.
- Kind with children, good with dogs (has been used to lots of dogs since I’ve had her).
- Not phased by machinery and tractors (we had lots of work done on the yard whilst she was a baby and she was super interested in watching it all).

She’s realistically priced due to her relative lack of experience to date:
- She’s backed & riding away very sensibly but hasn’t been out to shows / seen much of the world yet.
- I’ve never clipped her or bathed her, I don’t think she’d have a problem with either (she’s had the back of clippers all over her whilst on with no issues) but she’s never done it.
- She’s an inexperienced traveller because I’ve never had transport.
- She’s got a very tiny cold splint that has never caused any issues, from hooning around being a youngster on lots of land in the spring last year.

Location:
Located in Cornwall between Falmouth & Helston at her backing yard, she's now in regular ridden work and her price will increase the more she does.

Who she’d suit:
Oti would suit someone kind and experienced who’s looking for an easy little mare to produce this summer. No novices purely due to her age – she deserves a balanced rider capable of furthering her education. She’d turn her hoof to lots of things, should be a lovely all rounder for all ages.

No loans, no LWVTB, no payment plans. Genuine enquiries only please.

Jibba Jabba (JJ)
Beautiful 12hh cob gelding, 6 years old

JJ has been in the same loving home for the past 5 years and is now looking for his next family. He would make an excellent first pony.

On the ground, JJ is an affectionate and kind pony who thrives on attention. He will happily stand for hours to be groomed and pampered, making him a real pleasure to handle. He is good to groom, clip, bath, and for the farrier, and has been regularly handled by children.

Under saddle, He is excellent to hack, sensible in traffic, and enjoys open spaces. He has been ridden out by children and proves to be safe and confidence-giving.

In the school, JJ is forward-going yet safe. He works sweetly on the flat and is very forgiving of an unbalanced or novice rider, making him ideal as a first pony. He is confident over poles and happily pops a small jump. He is also suitable for lead rein.

JJ has attended in-hand shows with great success, consistently placing and bringing home ribbons. He loads and travels well, making him easy to take out and about.

Up to date with vaccinations and dental care

Lola is about 11.2, registered 11 year old, although we’ve only owner her since last August, she was in her previous home about 6 years.

Lola has been a much loved lead rein / first ridden / second ridden pony. She will hack out unfazed by anything, she will walk / trot and canter in the school however she’s not super well schooled so her transitions from trot to canter can be messy as she will run in to the canter, however she’s not dead to the leg but she’s also not going to run off with your child and seems to know when she has an unbalanced tiny tot on board or a child that she can be a bit more forward with.

Good to catch, will stand to be pampered, good for the farrier, good to bath / load And travel.

Lolas previous owners had done local level shows and she is well behaved in a show environment.

We have had absolutely no issues at all with Lola over the last 9 months and she is currently living out so is hairy and roughed off at the minute, however I will start getting her in and back in work for viewings.

Lots of photos and videos available, good home is important for this little girl.

She has done pony club and everything from rallies, camps and beach rides to Area Competitions. She shows promise to do more in her dressage and is very balanced and polite and educated for a cobby type, and she loves cross country, adding many rosettes to the wall! She is also steady and reliable SJ, but isn’t the fastest!!

She is easy to handle, clip, shoe and load. She has lovely feathers, we usually clip them off and keep her more streamlined. She has had her teeth routinely done, with no issues. Easy with other ponies and can hack out on her own and in company. She is good in all traffic, happily hacks alone or with others through cattle and a busy farm.

Prior to us she was in the same home for four years, doing her job before she was genuinely outgrown and her riders moved on to a sportier model.

She loves fuss and attention, and we are hoping to find her a home with a child who can already trot and canter but maybe has lost their confidence and is looking for a very special friend to hold their hand and help them enjoy riding again. Maybe with a small parent who can hack occasionally in the week although she doesn’t mind and is no different if ridden less.

This is a very difficult decision. She is wasted with our son, she is just too nice a pony and loves the attention too much to be stood in the field, and our daughter just can’t manage the time for two ponies with ever increasing school and social commitments.

She can be seen with a friend who has better facilities, so she can be tried in an arena and hacking etc.

Please no time wasters. We are looking to find her a loving and caring new home hopefully over the school holiday.
