12hh pony club pony, fully liberty trained

Ref #: 399547
  • Has done all PC activities, camp, ODE, SJ, rallies etc.
  • Fully liberty trained, ridden bridle-less including jumping, trick trained
  • Will trot X-poles for an inexperienced rider or step up a gear and jump 80cm quick jump offs
£6,500
  • Black Roan
  • Gelding
  • 13 years
  • 12 hands
  • Has done all PC activities, camp, ODE, SJ, rallies etc.
  • Fully liberty trained, ridden bridle-less including jumping, trick trained
  • Will trot X-poles for an inexperienced rider or step up a gear and jump 80cm quick jump offs

Dave is a 12hh 13 year old gelding who is fully liberty trained with tricks and reliable bridle-less riding. He has done pony club activities, which he enjoys.

Showjumping he will jump 80/90cm training with a keen jockey, and will step down to jump cross poles with a less experienced rider. He doesn’t spook at fillers/ water trays and gets on with his job.

He has done a mini one day event, dressage isn’t his forte BUT he will happily do a basic walk/trot/canter test without any issues.

Has done plenty of XC schooling which he also enjoys.

Dave hacks out regularly across May Hill, he keeps his rider safe on busy roads and open hills, even not bothered by the ‘wild’ horses that often canter past us when we hack. He’s lead the hack down a busy road and not batted an eyelid at huge Lorrie’s passing at speed! I don’t think I’ve ever met such a bombproof pony on the road.

Dave has regularly been ridden without a bridle and he will also jump bridle-less. He knows stop and rein back off your seat and a neck rope.

Dave has an extensive list of liberty tricks, including but not limited to;
-lay down
-side pass away and towards
-back up in front and behind
-follow on

He is just a fabulous little pony who deserves a new jockey that loves him just as much as we do. He’s handled by his 11 year old rider. Easy to catch, loads well, is a loving little pony, enjoys a treat but doesn’t get nippy if given them.

When in a new home Dave will take a couple of weeks to settle, he’s not nasty, just a little stressy and therefore an adult is to be on hand to handle him if needed in the initial settling in period. Once settled he is absolutely fine to be handled by a child. He lives in or out, prefers not to be left in alone, but is fine to be let out alone in his field.

Upto date with vaccines, farrier (barefoot) and dentist. Never needed to see the vet for anything other than vaccinations.

It would be wonderful if he could find a home with someone interested in liberty, and this is where my preference would be when selecting a home for him. However a down to earth horsey family, who enjoy doing a bit of every thing with their ponies would be fantastic

Llafar Rock-Queen Is Being Sold As She's Too Small For Me To Ride Safely Without Hurting Her,
She Will Shine In Whatever You Choose To Do With Her From Showing, Driving, Kiddies Pony To A Broodmare.
With Her Breeding And Movement She Will Throw Some Impressive Foals That Would Have A Future With Either Showing, Kiddies Ponies Or Pulling Carriages When Your Children Have Outgrown Her

Llafar Rock-Queen Will Excel In Any Discipline She Will Put Her Hoof To. She's Got Lovely Flashy Paces And Certainly Knows How To Fly The Flag For Wales.

She is so full of sassyness and look at me attitude.
Queenie Has Been Bred In The Purple And Hopefully She'll Follow Her Dam And Granddam And Appear At The Royal Welsh Show
She's Got A Leg In Each Corner And She's Never Sick Or Sorry For Herself
She Just Wants To Go And Play And Have Some Fun

Have A Look At You Tube For Some More Videos Of Her Playing Around With Her Friends And Being Ridden. Just Look For Her Name At....
https://www.youtube.com/@Weenie-10

Her breeder is J. Dart from Anglesey WPCS Judge

Rock-Queen has been bred for her quality and temperament for which she has in abundance and is so chilled and has a willing to learn
Most of the Llafar Stud foals are sold abroad and are doing extremely well in their chosen careers.

Queenie Is A Lovely Friendly Mare Who Loves Nothing More Than Kisses!
She's Been Exposed To Various Things That Might Possibly Make Her Spook When She's Out And About.
Such As Dogs,Pushchairs, Flags, Bunting And Washing Especially Tractors And Cars.
Not Forgetting Cows, Pigs, Alpacas And Chickens.

She is up to date with her Vaccinations, Teeth and Feet. She's currently barefoot and has never had any shoes on.

She's so calm and very confident that she can be schooled by a child as well as an adult. She lunges with her bridle and saddle, or just a headcollar on as well as free rein. Just Look At That Jump That She's Got!!

She's learning Liberty and is picking it up quickly, She long reins beautifully and would be suitable for riding as well as driving with a bit more schooling.
I've Also Been Working With Her From The Ground On Some Lateral Moves, Such As Shoulder-In, Serpentines, Turns And Side Steps Such As Might Be Needed When Out And About, So That She's Got An Idea About What To Do

She is a late starter with riding as she has been started this year and is riding away nicely with someone walking at her side. I am working with her to build up her paces as well as some lateral work from the ground.

The picture with the girl on her was taken about 10 minutes after backing her, she really is that calm about everything. All That She Wants To Do Is To Please You And She Absorbs Everything That You Do With Her And She Gives It Her All

Rock-Queen has been shown Lightly In-Hand at Selby in the summer
She came a respectable 2nd and 3rd in her classes which were large ones.

As she has not been long as she was started and she is still green and sharp, I would recommend that she would make a fantastic 2nd ridden pony for a child although with some more schooling she will make a brilliant 1st ridden as she looks after her jockey already.

She's not been jumped under saddle, so she's very low mileage with no problem, she's just jumped in the field and the school, but she's got a cracking careful jump as can be seen in a picture. That one was around 2.5' high and she cleared it with loads to spare

Rock-Queen just needs a friend who wants to go and have some fun with her. She hasn't got a jockey with us anymore and she's too good to be wasted being a field ornament

I'm Open To Offers For A Swap For Queenie, Preferably Something Along The Lines Of A Welsh Sec D That's Going To Make 14.2hh
I'm Not A Lightweight Hence I'm Looking For Something That Is Bigger
I Don't Mind Having A Youngster Who Needs Bringing On

If you feel that you are the right person for her then please get in touch And Drop Me A Message Or Text As I Don't Always Hear The Phone And I Will Return Your Call

She Will Come With Her Wardrobe, To Include Turnout Rugs, Fly Rugs, Day-Glow Exercise Rug, Bridle, Neck Fleece And Vests. If There's Anything Else Then Of Course It Will Be Included.

Don't Forget That Ponies Of This Quantity Don't Come About Every Day!

  • Versatile Handsome Fun

Buddy is a beautifully bred class 1 Connemara gelding with an exceptionally fun and genuine temperament.

A pleasure to have on the yard, he is easy to clip, shoe, load and handle in all aspects of daily life. He has been carefully produced, ridden by both a professional and a 11-year-old over the last three years, and has enjoyed a varied and successful career so far.

Buddy has been to riding club camps, competed in unaffiliated show jumping and dressage (with wins), schooled cross-country and been shown in-hand.

Naturally laid-back and straightforward, Buddy is happy to plod along but has plenty of ability and enthusiasm when asked. He has bags of potential and I've no doubt he has an exciting future ahead.

Due to his age, he would be best suited to a competent, experienced older teenager or small adult looking for a quality all-rounder.

Open to vetting and viewings A genuine 5-star home is essential for this wonderful boy.

Top Class Allrounder – Kind & Talented 5yo Class 1 Connemara Mare

Introducing Sophie, a stunning 5-year-old Class 1 purebred Connemara mare, standing at 14.2hh. Sophie is the definition of a traditional Connemara pony—she has a leg in each corner, a beautiful head, a kind eye, and a calm, generous nature that makes her a pleasure to work with every day.

Sophie has the ideal temperament for a novice rider, a riding school program, a mother-daughter share, or a young rider wanting to do a bit of everything. She is sweet, steady, and exceptionally quiet, both to handle and to ride. Her laid-back attitude and genuine nature make her the kind of pony that gives confidence and always tries her best.

Under saddle, Sophie is nicely schooled with three balanced paces and a lovely rhythm. She works in a soft outline and listens well to her rider. Over fences, she really shines—she has a super jump with a careful, tidy technique that would make her an excellent working hunter or Pony Club allrounder. She is honest and uncomplicated to a fence and is equally bold and sensible out cross-country, where she never looks at a thing.

Sophie’s kind and willing attitude make her an ideal candidate for Pony Club, working hunter, or family use, and she has the temperament to suit a wide variety of riders. Whether you’re looking for a safe and straightforward pony to learn on, or a quality young mare to produce further, Sophie ticks every box.

She comes from excellent traditional Connemara bloodlines, by Tullaree Hawk (a son of the legendary Dexter Leam Pondi), out of a mare by Bobby Joe, with Garryhinch Finn also in her pedigree—names known for producing performance ponies with sound temperaments and quality conformation.

Sophie has no stable vices, passed a recent 5-stage vetting, and is open to re-vetting for serious buyers. Her price includes delivery to your yard anywhere in the UK, and if she’s not the perfect match, we offer an exchange policy for peace of mind.

Take a look at her video to see just how lovely and genuine Sophie is. For more information, feel free to call 00353868077626 or email gertytynan@gmail.com. This kind and talented mare is ready to find her forever home.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Difficult advert to write as I was hoping to run him through the novices but due to potentially keeping my open whp I can’t run them all and risk a quality pony like himself sat doing nothing!

Rhydyfelin Star Of Merlin

Merlin is an absolute delight to have around, easy to handle in all ways and loves a cuddle! He oozes quality and there’s not many old fashioned types like him about… excellent candidate for the fr/junior/cradles - would also trim up nicely as a SHP!

I brought him in a July as just sat on to produce for the open As . Since then he has attended two ridden shows (winning and taking reserve champ at his first one), and a few arena hires including showing promise over solid fences.

He’s had several different aged jockeys on him proving safe each time and he’s always eager to learn. Eventhough he is green he is never naughty or malicious and really does give his all in every situation.

Has jumped the odd small course at home and is proving willing into a fence.

Has only hacked out in company but leads or follows. Great in most traffic, can have a look at big machinery but doesn’t do anything silly.

Open to viewings and vettings - happy to keep here to produce next year

For Sale Together Only - A Pair Much-Loved Welsh Section A Ponies (Mother & Daughter)

Ref #: 399429

  • Chestnut Roan
  • Mare
  • 10 years
  • 12 hands
  • Done PC, games, lead rein dressage, local showing, hacking
  • Lead rein or first ridden for more confident child
  • Sold from field

A pair of unregistered Section A mares (16yrs and 10yrs) offered for sale together. They are mother and daughter and have lived their whole lives together; we simply cannot bear to sell them apart, so they will only be sold as a pair.

The older mare is 16 years old. She has previously done Pony Club activities and local shows, enjoys popping small cross poles, and is happy hacking both on and off the lead rein. She is experienced, but like many Welsh ponies she does have a cheeky streak, so would be best suited to a more confident child when off the lead rein. Generally she is much more woah than go however.

The younger mare is 10 years old and very low mileage due to our lack of time. She was lightly backed by us and was quiet and straightforward, taking everything in her stride. She has not been pushed on but shows a great attitude.

Both ponies are currently out of work and living in the field due to lack of time, so they will need to be slowly and sympathetically brought back into work. For this reason, a knowledgeable and understanding home is essential. They are sold as seen from the field.

They are not world beaters, but are real characters with funny personalities and will be best friends for a new child.

This is a very sad sale and as such no time wasters or dealers please.
£2,500 for the pair.

Please contact via text message in the first instance, due to working hours.

Bruno - 5 year old Dartmoor Hill Pony - 13hh

Super smart 2nd pony, who has the potential to go on to be a very successful jumping machine in the right hands!

From wild hill pony to much loved yard favourite. He is a solid leg in each corner you take up the leg!

Bruno has taken part in: rallies, lessons, show jumping competitions, mounted games training and competition and fun rides. As well as pony drifting and showing where he won his class! Will make a smart WHP prospect!

Bruno has had an excellent start to his education and has been carefully produced by myself and now 13 year daughter. We have tried to give him a well rounded education and show him as much as possible without rushing him. His schooling is coming on very nicely and is established in a correct and consistent outline in walk and trot even able to perform some lateral movements as it’s something I always introduce early. His canter still needs more work to become more balanced and round, however showing much improvement week on week.

Enjoys his jumping and no doubt this will be his strongest discipline with more work and time. Currently he is most comfortable jumping 40 - 50 with 50’s being his sweet spot where he has taken a few wins at this height. He is scopey and will of of course jump bigger but not as careful at the bigger heights just yet.

He is still establishing in his jumping so will need consistency and a confident rider. He is very switched on in his jumping, is forward and knows what a jump off is all about able perform speedy and tight turns.

Has recently been ridden and competed by a small but very competent 9 year old jockey in 40cm and 50cm heights coming away in the top ribbons!

Good out hacking with some occasional green moments to be expected with a young pony, where he still needs to grow in his confidence, easily overcome by a reassuring rider. My daughter has solo hacked him and also been ridden out in groups by novices. Bold and brave with jumping logs, ditches and gorse bushes and going through rivers on hacks.

I can genuinely see him being a great allrounder with a talent in jumping. He has been shown and won his class first time out. Very smart, workman like attitude, busy pony who doesn’t like to stand and idle for too long (still working on this) easy to do, will stand to be clipped without any fuss and generally a really nice boy to have around. Polite and easy going enough not be ridden every day but benefits from consistent work as he likes to be busy.

Please bear in mind he is still a young and low mileage pony who needs an experienced home to continue his education, so would not be suitable for a novice child unless a small enough adult or sibling to assist!

Very good hard feet so barefoot currently, up to date with farrier, dentist and worming. Hasn’t had any vaccines yet as they haven’t been required.

His ideal person would be an all rounder with a focus on sj as this is what he enjoys. He would also suit a small adult wanting a fun and genuine pony to enjoy who is happy to continue his education to bring out his full potential. He has moments of being strong nothing silly just still learning and has been ridden in a stronger universal bit which helps generally ridden in a Wilkie.

5* home sought for this wonderful chap, hard but inevitable sale! He will come with his bridle and a selection of rugs.

Bruno currently has a slight aversion to quad bikes and motor bikes due to being a drifted in moor pony. I’m still working hard with him to overcome this and he has made huge improvements week on week. He is currently unproven in the hunting field due to this but has the potential to be a great little hunting Pony if there is some distance between him and quads until he is more settled around them.

I am in no rush to see him go be aware his price will increase with more work and mileage, however offering him now so someone can have him for a full season of fun!

Woodhouse Hari

13yr old Palomino Gelding was bought for Daughter as a lead rein pony, he was great done mostly lead rein hacking he's forward going but safe my daughter was only 1yr old when we got him and i walked miles with him, He will also run round arena with kids on a rope and jump over little jumps he's a good fun wee guy

He hasn't done any ridden work really for about 18months due to being such a great nanny / companion for our foal last year and then again this year, he was ridden for a couple of weeks last summer to see if he would go of lead read and tbh he wasn't naughty but she's a lead rein pony he didn't have a clue and we didn't work at it

He has been great as a companion to our foals, youngsters and broodmares the last couple of years and takes next to no management he's never had laminitis and is out at grass 24/7, he's good to catch, never bitten or kicked, He could easily be brought back into work but we just don't have the time to keep him in work till he sells so he's sold as is from the field but you could shove a saddle on him tomorrow, i have a couple of short videos of him under saddle to show he is broken and safe.

He currently out in field unrugged living his best hairy pony life so expect a dirty hairy pony when you visit. also have his inky dinky saddle for sale that i would do a deal with.

TALLULAH

Gorgeous 2017 dark bay Irish mare standing at a full up 13hh, so beautifully marked and well put together, with a long body and a big step she rides much bigger than 13hh and takes the leg up massively.

Tallulah has lovely paces and produces a great test, she is snaffle mouthed, voice activated and is super safe and easy.

She has done plenty of riding club, showjumping, hunting and dressage. Tallulah will jump whatever you place her at, off any stride and is super careful, a fantastic candidate for a BS pony, or a pony club allrounder as she has plenty of showjumping experience already, she isn’t bothered by XC fences or coloured fillers and she looks after her rider.

She will give you plenty of confidence and makes light work of jumping a track of fences.

She’s super to hack out alone and in company, she isn’t bothered by heavy traffic, farm machinery, or the gayest of traffic, a real super star pony with so much offer and lots of brilliant qualities, she’s special enough to do a showing or worker’s job, but equally a great mother daughter share or pony club pony.

She’s super laid back in the yard, affectionate and sweet to handle in every way, a real easy type to have around with impeccable manners.
