Perfect Lead Rein or Experienced First Ridden

Ref #: 398508

£5,000
  • Appaloosa

  • Wonderful Lead Rein or experienced first/second pony
  • Lovely calm, kind temperament
  • Easy to handle

It is with a very heavy heart that we have decided to find Skype a new best friend who she can teach and have endless fun with.

Skype is a very sweet natured mare. No health issues other than sweet itch to manage in the summer months. She is always quiet and calm and enjoys a fuss! She will be a perfect lead rein for another little person, or a wonderful first/second ridden for a more experienced/confident rider.

We have owned Skype for almost 2 years and she has brought our daughter on heaps to coming off the lead rein at pony club camp. She would need a rider who is confident to tell her who’s in charge. The reason we have decided to sell is because our daughter has now moved onto her next pony, and our son has no interest in riding.

Skype is good to shoe, load, groom etc. She does need to be sedated to clip. Skype lives in at night and out by day in the winter months and lives out throughout the summer months.

Skype is happier kept in regular work.

VERY very occasionally she has had a buck when our daughter lets her reins slip. This is the only reason we are advertising her to more experienced riders. Skype has never put a foot wrong on the lead rein.

We have attended rallies, show jumping, pony club camp etc. We have not taken her hunting and I’m not sure her previous home did either so I’m afraid I cannot give a reference for her hunting.

Happy to discuss further and will only be sold to the right family. Plenty of videos and photos available.

Skype has been out of work and ridden very occasionally since October as our daughter hasn’t had the time to ride 2 ponies. This has been reflected in the asking price.

Contact Jack for further details on 07904185720. Serious enquiries only please.

Price includes rugs and tack.

This is a childs opportunity to own a super pretty little pony, who is looking for a new home due to change in personal circumstances.

I would say she is more woah than go, and is best suited as a lead rein pony or a second pony as she needs some encoragement to go forward, however with a determined rider this pony can do anything, as she did with her previous owner.

She can jump, hacks out, has been shown in hand and ridden classes and won many a rosette.
She has a lovely temperament, is good with the farrier, to handle and clip.

Easy to turn out and comes in willingly. she is vaccinated and wormed to date .

She comes with tack and rugs

Geoff is a 14.2hh chunky Bay Blagdon gelding, 3 yrs (rising 4)

We have had Geoff since the start of summer and he was purchased as a project. Sadly a change in my work circumstances force a sale earlier than I would have liked. That being said, he has been broken to ride lightly and is proving to be everything we hoped.

He has a placid, sweet but brave nature and is fabulous to be around. Catch, lead, tie up, muck out round, groom, farrier. He has a lovely nature with other horses too.

Over summer he has worn tack, long reined in the school and on the lane and has been ridden round the school and on the lane. Nothing has been rushed, he has then been turned away for a number of weeks and brought back in. The fact that we brought him in, tacked him straight up and got on for a stroll round the arena and the yard is indicative to the nature of this lovely cob. Easy, unflappable and trainable.

He is young and green so will be sold to a knowledgeable home only, however, he is going to make someone a fabulous cob with size and substance. They don’t make them like this anymore. We can also continue with his education for the short term (should his new owner wish).

Serious enquiries only. He is based near Whalley, Lancashire. He can come with tack by separate negotiation and we can arrange transport nationally.

Geoff is aound, never sick or sorry, no sweetitch, great feet and no sarcoids.

He is open to vet.

  • Paddy (Paddy Boy) – 13hh Piebald Pony
  • Fantastic feather and a kind, genuine nature
  • Reliable, fun hacking partner with plenty of personality

Paddy is a much-loved 14-year-old, 13hh piebald pony with fantastic feather and a kind, genuine nature. He is a super happy hacker, confidently hacking out in the forest and on roads without any issues. Currently barefoot and has been for a long time, maintaining strong, healthy feet with regular trims every 8 weeks.

Paddy is best suited to a confident, stronger rider in the arena, as he can be cheeky and will test smaller or less experienced riders. He is not suitable for jumping as he does not respect poles, so we’re looking for a home where he can continue doing what he loves—hacking and exploring.

He is up to date with vaccinations, teeth, and farrier care, and is easy to clip.

Comes with a rug.

Paddy would make a brilliant pony for someone who wants a reliable, fun hacking partner with plenty of personality.

Homes will be vetted.

Rising 6 14.2 Class one Connemara mare

Some ponies are born to do a job & this one was certainly born to hunt.

Jackie, a funny, enjoyable pony with plenty of jump and ability.

Safe as houses to hunt, stands at the meet, sweet, easy and jumps anything. Would happily do gates. Give leads. Etc.

Beautiful paces - would make a nice showing type however she does prefer to jolly round the countryside.

Jumps any fence. Fun and straight forward. Good flat work with smart paces.

Good with ditches/water/steps. Hacks alone or in company

The more she does the better she’s becoming.

Fit & ready to tackle any country.

Super lead rein or hunting pony

Ref #: 398424

  • Mare

  • 10.3 hands
  • Candy – 10.3hh, 10-year-old Lead Rein / Hunting Superstar
  • Snaffle mouth • Safe • Sweet • Sad sale

Candy is the loveliest little mare who has spent most of her life as a much-loved lead rein pony. We bought her in the summer and she has been an absolute gem for Darce, participating in a huge variety of activities including:

• XC schooling
• SJ (including pairs jumping which she loved!)
• Beach rides
• Forestry hacks
• Pony Club camp
• Shows
• Hound exercise & hunting
• Lunging while Darce was recovering from her operation

Candy has taken everything in her stride. She is happiest out hunting or hacking—ears pricked, loving life. Under saddle she’s safe and sensible, and on the lead rein she will happily follow you all day at whatever speed you can manage!

When jumping independently she just needs a few fences to get her confidence, then she gets her head in the game and off she goes. With a confident little jockey or as a lead rein pony she will thrive.

The Good Bits:
• No health issues
• Snaffle mouth
• Easy for farrier, clip, load (trailer or lorry)
• Lives in or out, on her own or with others
• Very easy keeper – not much grass needed
• Comes with full tack
• Lots of videos & photos available

Honest Point:
She can be a little moody to catch on the odd day. She doesn’t run off—just turns her bum if she’s not in the mood. Darce always catches her easily, so we feel she may have had a bad experience in the past. Once caught, she is a total sweetheart.

Candy would be a wonderful asset to a hunting home, lead rein family, or a little rider who wants miles of safe fun with a kind, genuine pony. She has brought us so much joy and this is a very sad sale of a much-loved girl.

A very sad sale of our much-loved family pony, who is only available as my daughter has now moved onto a bigger horse.

Smartie is a versatile, talented Connemara by Contepomi Cashel (out of an RIHS Champion mare), showing the scope and quality to make a top HOYS M&M WHP, while being equally happy turning his hoof to all disciplines.

Over the past three years he has:

Chance
16-year-old mare, 14.2hh

Chance is a forward-going, fun, and speedy pony who knows her job and loves to work. She has brakes but can be strong, so she's not suitable for a novice rider. That said, she is an absolute sweetheart on the ground – kind, affectionate, and a real pleasure to have around the yard.

We've had some amazing times with Chance and she will be very much missed. However, at 16, we feel she now deserves a more varied, lower-level home where she can enjoy all-round activities rather than focusing solely on jumping.

She has mainly competed in BS showjumping with us and her previous owner, but also adores cross-country, arena eventing, hacking, and fun rides. She hacks alone or in company, happily goes first or last, and is completely unbothered.

Up to date with teeth, vaccinations, physio, etc.

Great with the farrier, breeze to clip, loads and travels beautifully, and will stand quietly on the lorry.

This is a very special pony, and finding the right home is our top priority – all homes will be vetted.

Parents dream lead rein pony

Ref #: 392387
£3,500 OVNO
  • Welsh Section A
  • Strawberry roan
  • Mare
  • 17 years
  • 11.2 hands

This gorgeous little mare is looking for a new little person to love her.

She is such a sweet thing, adores cuddles and loves to be spoilt. She is used to children, dogs, farm animals and machinery. I trust her implicitly.

She has done various PC activities and Junior Camp. Travels perfectly on a trailer and box. Hacks alone or in company. Happy to ride and lead her.

Lives in and out, never any laminitis. Has been turned out with mares and geldings. Good with farrier, vet etc. Only downside is, she has very mild sweet itch, though this has been managed very easily.

We have had Tinkerbell for just over 2 years. She is a true lead rein pony. She is 100% safe to be handled on the ground in all respects by very young children. She is absolutely perfect on the lead rein walking, trotting, cantering, jumping a course and is excellent to teach on the lunge. Off the lead rein- some days she is fantastic, others she will be a typical awkward mare. She has never done anything scary or dangerous- no bucks, rears or kicks, never takes off or goes too fast, she can simply be awkward and make it difficult for young children to make her go forward.

Comes with new tack that we bought when we got her.

  • Fabulous PC/RC pony who will turn her hoof to anything and enjoys a varied life.
  • Slowly and correctly produced with regular input from professionals.
  • A proven safe and sane confidence giver around the farm at home, out at clinics and at competitions.

Lola is a 14.1hh unregistered Connie X Welsh D 7 year old mare. We have owned her for three years, in which time my now 13 year old daughter has correctly and slowly produced her with regular support from professionals.

She has benefited from plenty of groundwork and a broad array of experiences in dressage, working equitation, pole work, SJ, XC, hacking and trail hunting and has grown in confidence, enjoying the variety.

As well as many clinics, Lola has attended Riding Club and Pony Club, including stay away camps. She has competed for RC, PC and NSEA in addition to many local shows and competitions. In dressage, she is the 2025 BD Quest Intro National Champion and is competing at Prelim, training at Novice level. In SJ she has most recently been competing at 80 and trains 80/90 and XC (grass/arena) she has competed at 70 and 80 but trains 80/90. She has proven to be a lovely safe and sane confidence giving ride, remaining un-phased by the bigger atmospheres at the larger events.

She has most recently competed with great success within BD Quest. She and my daughter topped the regional leaderboard at Intro and qualified for both team and individual places at the BD Quest semi-finals, where they gained a direct qualification to the finals in My Quest and a wildcard for Team Quest. They placed well in the team tests and won their individual section, becoming the BD Quest Intro National Champions for 2025. Lola behaved impeccably throughout.

Lola is good to bath, shoe, clip, load and travel. She is a saint for putting up with my daughter’s antics, including being ridden through a Starbucks drive-through. She is good with the vet, chiro, physio and dentist and is up to date with everything.

5* knowledgeable home is essential and our priority for this much loved pony to continue her education and we would love to keep in touch!

  • Patient, polite, and beautifully mannered
This is a truly heartbreaking sale and something I never imagined I would have to do but due to a change in circumstances, it has become necessary to find this lovely boy a new home.

Sunny is exceptionally well behaved for the farrier, dentist, vet, and physio, and loads without any fuss. He is patient, polite, and beautifully mannered. He is more than happy to stand on the yard all day being pampered.

He hacks alone or in company, confidently going first or last, and is safe in open spaces as well as on the busiest of roads. He goes in a snaffle at all times.

Sunny jumps comfortably up to 90cm and is bold and honest. He has never stopped and will always help you out with a stride. He is well schooled, has a lovely light mouth, and consistently produces a smart test.

His nature is truly sweet, he is never nasty and always aims to please. His only vice is that he requires light sedation for clipping, as it makes him a little nervous.

He would suit a small adult or a confident child. For his full potential to be reached he is not suitable for a complete beginner. I would love to see him go to a forever home where he will be cherished.

I am in no rush to sell and he will only be allowed to go to a genuine 10* home. All prospective homes will be vetted.

As a new mum with a young baby, I unfortunately don’t have time for time-wasters—serious enquiries only, please.

MUST BE SOLD!

Show Record:

• Qualified for Royal International 2023
• 6th place in his only HOYS qualifier that same year
• 2024:

Enjoyed a quieter year at home due to family commitments. Hacked out happily, attended small dressage competitions, and did 30/40cm clear round jumping. Thrives off jumping. Ridden off the lead at home by a competent 6–7-year-old. Although small, he’s not a FYFR (First Ridden type) — more suited to a confident, capable little rider.

2025:
Spent the season with Sarah Parker, originally intended for a LR campaign. Sadly, following a family bereavement, the season was taken slowly. Next year’s jockey will be out of class, so he’s now available for a new home.

A genuine, sweet-natured pony who loves his job, is easy to have around, and has the ability to shine again in the right hands.

Charlie is a gorgeous well put together gelding.

Completely bombproof in traffic and not spooky in the slightest. Lives in or out but prefers a bit of both, and thrives on attention.

Not really a first pony, more a 1.5 or 2nd as although snaffle mounted and has brakes, he can be a bit of a fun pocket rocket when out hacking, which he loves to do. Very brave, will go first or last in group, will also hack on his own, regularly hacks through a river and takes everything in his stride.

Takes the leg well so would suit both a child or small adult. Charlie loves his work and would excel in a PC environment as he loves to jump. Although he is so versatile that he could turn a hoof to anything maybe hunting, the show ring or just a happy hacker.

A little green in the school but has bags of potential.

Travels well, loads himself, good for farrier (he currently just has front shoes), to clip and is up to date with vaccinations.

Price in include all tack, saddle is new this year.

Very smart Irish cob

He would make a lovely allrounder

He has such a sweet personality and would stand to be pampered all day long! Has been great to catch/farrier/clip/load ect. He rides well in the arena and has been super to hack out alone or in company in traffic ect.

Great mover so would do a lovely dressage test.

He wouldn’t suit a total novice as still needs confidence from his rider, absolutely no badness whatsoever just needs miles. Not a spooky type.

He really is a lovely chap who is ready to be loved and go and see the world!
