14.1hh dun mare , Nelly has been with us for just over 2.5 years now and is the sweetest of ponies ever . She has taken a novice rider out hacking safely on her own and in company , she is not spooky and is great in traffic .

Has Regularly had jump lessons , she is keen to a fence but sensible.

Nellys real love in life is hunting , she is manerly and brave but does take a hold so a stronger bit is needed for hunting .

Nelly is the easiest pony ever to handle on the ground , she does not complain about anything You do to her .

She has attended pc rallies sj jumping and xc and just does what ever you ask of her .

She has not had much flat work done so if you are looking for a dressage pony she is not for you unless you want to put the work in to her.

She travels in a lorry or trailer .

This is a very sad sell and we want the best home for her .

Extremely reluctantly, potentially offered to the very best of homes only.

Lagalgarve Maes Howe. 8 year old Top Quality Highland mare.

We have had the pleasure of owning Maevis for the past 3 years and she is just so easy, hacks out alone or in company in heaviest of traffic, needs no working in at shows just hop on and go.

We really don’t want to part with her so she will only go if the right home comes along ,but we are focusing on others next year and just won’t have time to do her justice .

She’s been very lightly but successfully shown in hand and ridden always attracting compliments from breed judges as she’s very correct and very feminine, would be an asset to anyone wanting to breed a top class highland .

Supreme champion in hand at Highland pony show wining a coveted bronze medal.

Jack is a stunning young pony, black, 4 white socks. 5yo Gelding.

Jack has been completely produced by a now 10yo girl who has sadly outgrown him.

He has done Dressage and Showjumping competitions as well as Cross Country Schooling, polo cross and mounted games at pony club camp too.

He is totally a child’s pony to handle and do, never strong to lead etc.

Jack is still young and we feel it would be ideal if he could go to a home back on the leadrein where he can get come more confidence jumping from his leader whilst he matures further. He is fab for a child to ride off the leadrein and never strong, he just lacks abit of confidence jumping with a small child.

Jack has tonnes of scope and easily pops 70cm at home with his 10yo jockey.

We really feel this pony is going to come into his own over the next few years, we have just run out of time with him!

No vices, good to Hack, for farrier etc.

Spirit is a lovable, cheeky and affectionate pony with a huge personality and a genuine desire to please.
We’ve owned him since he was 8, at which point he was barely broken, and he has become a much-loved part of our family.
He would suit someone looking for a super fun all-rounder and a true best friend.

Spirit has beautiful flatwork, works happily in a snaffle, and can comfortably jump 60–70cm courses out and about, but could easily jump bigger.
He is forward, responsive, and light to ride, though he can be a little sharp at times when the jumps get bigger.
With a balanced, capable rider he is incredibly willing and rewarding.

Spirit loves a lesson environment, where he really concentrates and tries his heart out. He has been out on loan on our yard for the last two years and has been fantastic for his rider, achieving multiple red ribbons in dressage, winning the NSEA National Intro Pop-Up Dressage League 2025, and placing 7th at Prelim. He has now been sadly outgrown.

He is not a novice ride and is best suited as a second pony. He is forward-thinking and true to his Welsh nature, can be a little spicy — there is an occasional buck, though he is generally a chilled and easy ride when ridden correctly.
Spirit hacks out happily with another horse or with a human on foot and is excellent in traffic, including cars, bikes, and large vehicles.
He also hacks alone confidently with an older rider.

On the ground, he is lovely to handle:

• Easy to catch (usually the first to come over)
• Loves grooming and attention
• Friendly and sociable in the field
• Bonds strongly with his people

He lives out most of the summer and is stabled overnight during the winter. He has no vices. He loads well in both lorry and trailer — straight on with company, and touch more persuasion when loading alone and travels really well.

Spirit is barefoot, using Scoot Boots for hacking, and is fully up to date with vaccinations, dentist, physio, and farrier. He does have EMS, which is common in Welsh types and is easily managed with a controlled diet. He is currently in tip top condition, fit and ready to go.

For clipping he generally only needs doing once in the winter, he is easy to body clip but does not like top of neck and head, we twitch for this bit and that works well.

He can come with his saddle, bridle and lots of rugs.

This pony means a great deal to me and will only go to the very best, knowledgeable home.
No trials or loans, although a loan with view to buy from our yard may be considered for the right local home.

We have had Chip (Pathfinder Olympic Flame) for 5 years so know him inside out. He is a pleasure to do in all ways, on the ground and to be ridden. He has a great personality and definitely a character on the yard. This is an extremely hard decision but my daughter has left for university and he will be wasted sitting at home. So we have decided it is time for Chip to teach someone new.

Chip is currently competing at 90cm showjumping unaffiliated. He is very careful and neat so he will usually go clear. He is currently schooling out cross country at 80cm and adding in some 90cm where he can. He is a pony that responds better to patiently building confidence. However, he is bold out cross country and absolute loves it. He has done one ODE last year my daughter had planned to do more this year but unfortunately A levels came in the way of that.

He currently competes at prelim and novice in dressage. He does really like schooling and with the right person could easily excel at novice level. Chip is also a pro at pony club he has attended many rallies and has gone to 4 pony club camps and this is something he really enjoys. In the top class at PC he is often the demonstrator for schooling/dressage moves. Out hacking Chip can go in the font back middle he is very reliable and he's been a nanny to our other baby horse. He has also lived on farms so is very used to farm machinery and dogs. Chip is a very handsome pony wherever we go he always gets compliments.

Having said this he is not a first pony when Chip gets excited he can throw in a buck it is never to be nasty (and as he has grown up this is now rare). He is an honest pony but he wants you to work with him so he needs a confident rider. So for these reasons no novices please.

Unfortunately in September of 2023 Chip had a gastric impaction (following over consumption of a blackberry hedge - yes he loves his food!) (happy to discuss the details with full vet report and medical history). However this was 2 years ago he is now back on great form and this history doesn't affect him in anyway. Apart from this incident he is never sick or sorry. This put him back a year while he recuperated.

Chip is up to date with vacs, teeth, physio etc .

He is good to load, clip and with farrier ( he has never had shoes on) .

He will come with all tack saddle, bridle, rugs etc

An ideal home for chip would be someone who wants to do a bit of everything and have fun with a safe sensible cheeky pony. He would also be a mother daughter/son dream. I (Mum) very much enjoy riding him as he is so easy and safe out hacking and he has even popped a few 90cm jumps for me. Chip is a very sociable boy so he does need friends in his field he would hate to live alone. This is an extremely hard decision so please only enquire if you are serious, 5 star home only.

Sad sale due to family illness and has been unable to put in training time with Queenie.
Queenie is a lovely 5-year-old Welsh Cob mare with a kind and inquisitive nature. She had a foal at four years old and joined our family in April 2025.

She has completed eight weeks of intensive training with a professional producer. While still green and showing that she requires more time or a different approach to ridden work, Queenie is a sensitive and intelligent mare who responds beautifully to calm, patient handling.

On the ground, Queenie is an absolute delight - very well-behaved and also likes to test boundaries given her age.
Queenie is up to date with all veterinary checks, vaccinations, and farrier visits. She is currently unshod, with strong, healthy feet. A saddler has fitted her with a correctly sized saddle.

Well suited to an experienced small adult.

Star is a phenomenal lead rein pony who wins everything from showing classes, WHP to showjumping classes.

She has also hunted on the lead rein and was foot perfect.

Off the lead at home and at shows she is very safe and sensible but lacks the confidence to jump fillers off the lead.

Happy to be lead from any horse.

She’s 100% in traffic, clipping, showing ect.

A much loved pony who is sadly out grown so will only go to the very best of homes.

Last show she went to, she won every class and then went reserve champion in the WHP.

Irish sports pony, JD, 11 years this time. Showjumper who knows her job, fast and scopey but also sensitive. Schools well on the flat but doesn’t like waiting around much, wants to get on with it. Has done clinics and some XC - could be bold at this with more experience

Has jumped round BN, stepping stones and discovery level.

Absolute poppet to do on the yard. Good doer, no stable vices - easy to shoe/box clip.

However, she is a hot little pony, and absolutely not a novice ride. She is very reasonably priced for such a pony, as we realise she’s not for everyone!

She would suit an older gung-ho child/or teen with experience.

Ref #: 399547

  • Has done all PC activities, camp, ODE, SJ, rallies etc.
  • Fully liberty trained, ridden bridle-less including jumping, trick trained
  • Will trot X-poles for an inexperienced rider or step up a gear and jump 80cm quick jump offs

Dave is a 12hh 13 year old gelding who is fully liberty trained with tricks and reliable bridle-less riding. He has done pony club activities, which he enjoys.

Showjumping he will jump 80/90cm training with a keen jockey, and will step down to jump cross poles with a less experienced rider. He doesn’t spook at fillers/ water trays and gets on with his job.

He has done a mini one day event, dressage isn’t his forte BUT he will happily do a basic walk/trot/canter test without any issues.

Has done plenty of XC schooling which he also enjoys.

Dave hacks out regularly across May Hill, he keeps his rider safe on busy roads and open hills, even not bothered by the ‘wild’ horses that often canter past us when we hack. He’s lead the hack down a busy road and not batted an eyelid at huge Lorrie’s passing at speed! I don’t think I’ve ever met such a bombproof pony on the road.

Dave has regularly been ridden without a bridle and he will also jump bridle-less. He knows stop and rein back off your seat and a neck rope.

Dave has an extensive list of liberty tricks, including but not limited to;
-lay down
-side pass away and towards
-back up in front and behind
-follow on

He is just a fabulous little pony who deserves a new jockey that loves him just as much as we do. He’s handled by his 11 year old rider. Easy to catch, loads well, is a loving little pony, enjoys a treat but doesn’t get nippy if given them.

When in a new home Dave will take a couple of weeks to settle, he’s not nasty, just a little stressy and therefore an adult is to be on hand to handle him if needed in the initial settling in period. Once settled he is absolutely fine to be handled by a child. He lives in or out, prefers not to be left in alone, but is fine to be let out alone in his field.

Upto date with vaccines, farrier (barefoot) and dentist. Never needed to see the vet for anything other than vaccinations.

It would be wonderful if he could find a home with someone interested in liberty, and this is where my preference would be when selecting a home for him. However a down to earth horsey family, who enjoy doing a bit of every thing with their ponies would be fantastic

She is so full of sassyness and look at me attitude.
Queenie Has Been Bred In The Purple And Hopefully She'll Follow Her Dam And Granddam And Appear At The Royal Welsh Show
She's Got A Leg In Each Corner And She's Never Sick Or Sorry For Herself
She Just Wants To Go And Play And Have Some Fun

Have A Look At You Tube For Some More Videos Of Her Playing Around With Her Friends And Being Ridden. Just Look For Her Name At....
https://www.youtube.com/@Weenie-10

Her breeder is J. Dart from Anglesey WPCS Judge

Rock-Queen has been bred for her quality and temperament for which she has in abundance and is so chilled and has a willing to learn
Most of the Llafar Stud foals are sold abroad and are doing extremely well in their chosen careers.

Queenie Is A Lovely Friendly Mare Who Loves Nothing More Than Kisses!
She's Been Exposed To Various Things That Might Possibly Make Her Spook When She's Out And About.
Such As Dogs,Pushchairs, Flags, Bunting And Washing Especially Tractors And Cars.
Not Forgetting Cows, Pigs, Alpacas And Chickens.

She is up to date with her Vaccinations, Teeth and Feet. She's currently barefoot and has never had any shoes on.

She's so calm and very confident that she can be schooled by a child as well as an adult. She lunges with her bridle and saddle, or just a headcollar on as well as free rein. Just Look At That Jump That She's Got!!

She's learning Liberty and is picking it up quickly, She long reins beautifully and would be suitable for riding as well as driving with a bit more schooling.
I've Also Been Working With Her From The Ground On Some Lateral Moves, Such As Shoulder-In, Serpentines, Turns And Side Steps Such As Might Be Needed When Out And About, So That She's Got An Idea About What To Do

She is a late starter with riding as she has been started this year and is riding away nicely with someone walking at her side. I am working with her to build up her paces as well as some lateral work from the ground.

The picture with the girl on her was taken about 10 minutes after backing her, she really is that calm about everything. All That She Wants To Do Is To Please You And She Absorbs Everything That You Do With Her And She Gives It Her All

Rock-Queen has been shown Lightly In-Hand at Selby in the summer
She came a respectable 2nd and 3rd in her classes which were large ones.

As she has not been long as she was started and she is still green and sharp, I would recommend that she would make a fantastic 2nd ridden pony for a child although with some more schooling she will make a brilliant 1st ridden as she looks after her jockey already.

She's not been jumped under saddle, so she's very low mileage with no problem, she's just jumped in the field and the school, but she's got a cracking careful jump as can be seen in a picture. That one was around 2.5' high and she cleared it with loads to spare

Rock-Queen just needs a friend who wants to go and have some fun with her. She hasn't got a jockey with us anymore and she's too good to be wasted being a field ornament

I'm Open To Offers For A Swap For Queenie, Preferably Something Along The Lines Of A Welsh Sec D That's Going To Make 14.2hh
I'm Not A Lightweight Hence I'm Looking For Something That Is Bigger
I Don't Mind Having A Youngster Who Needs Bringing On

If you feel that you are the right person for her then please get in touch And Drop Me A Message Or Text As I Don't Always Hear The Phone And I Will Return Your Call

She Will Come With Her Wardrobe, To Include Turnout Rugs, Fly Rugs, Day-Glow Exercise Rug, Bridle, Neck Fleece And Vests. If There's Anything Else Then Of Course It Will Be Included.

Buddy is a beautifully bred class 1 Connemara gelding with an exceptionally fun and genuine temperament.

A pleasure to have on the yard, he is easy to clip, shoe, load and handle in all aspects of daily life. He has been carefully produced, ridden by both a professional and a 11-year-old over the last three years, and has enjoyed a varied and successful career so far.

Buddy has been to riding club camps, competed in unaffiliated show jumping and dressage (with wins), schooled cross-country and been shown in-hand.

Naturally laid-back and straightforward, Buddy is happy to plod along but has plenty of ability and enthusiasm when asked. He has bags of potential and I've no doubt he has an exciting future ahead.

Due to his age, he would be best suited to a competent, experienced older teenager or small adult looking for a quality all-rounder.

Top Class Allrounder – Kind & Talented 5yo Class 1 Connemara Mare

Introducing Sophie, a stunning 5-year-old Class 1 purebred Connemara mare, standing at 14.2hh. Sophie is the definition of a traditional Connemara pony—she has a leg in each corner, a beautiful head, a kind eye, and a calm, generous nature that makes her a pleasure to work with every day.

Sophie has the ideal temperament for a novice rider, a riding school program, a mother-daughter share, or a young rider wanting to do a bit of everything. She is sweet, steady, and exceptionally quiet, both to handle and to ride. Her laid-back attitude and genuine nature make her the kind of pony that gives confidence and always tries her best.

Under saddle, Sophie is nicely schooled with three balanced paces and a lovely rhythm. She works in a soft outline and listens well to her rider. Over fences, she really shines—she has a super jump with a careful, tidy technique that would make her an excellent working hunter or Pony Club allrounder. She is honest and uncomplicated to a fence and is equally bold and sensible out cross-country, where she never looks at a thing.

Sophie’s kind and willing attitude make her an ideal candidate for Pony Club, working hunter, or family use, and she has the temperament to suit a wide variety of riders. Whether you’re looking for a safe and straightforward pony to learn on, or a quality young mare to produce further, Sophie ticks every box.

She comes from excellent traditional Connemara bloodlines, by Tullaree Hawk (a son of the legendary Dexter Leam Pondi), out of a mare by Bobby Joe, with Garryhinch Finn also in her pedigree—names known for producing performance ponies with sound temperaments and quality conformation.

Sophie has no stable vices, passed a recent 5-stage vetting, and is open to re-vetting for serious buyers. Her price includes delivery to your yard anywhere in the UK, and if she’s not the perfect match, we offer an exchange policy for peace of mind.

Take a look at her video to see just how lovely and genuine Sophie is. For more information, feel free to call 00353868077626 or email gertytynan@gmail.com. This kind and talented mare is ready to find her forever home.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Sell to the right home only - Virona 14.3 hh 2012 Arab Mare

Virona is a beautiful mare who we have owned since she was a foal.

Low mileage (left to mature and only backed at 9.

She is highly intelligent (as all Arabs are) and loves her work, particularly doing things that occupy her brain.

She has 3 lovely paces and has excelled at both dressage and showing at local riding club (qualifying for Stars) and also placed highly at National Arab Shows.

She hacks alone or in company without any issues and loves to pop a jump, but she is not a plod - she is a typical Arab and can be very forward, so not suitable for a novice. (no vices or nastiness)

Barefoot all her life without any issues

Up to date with all jabs/teeth etc

Would suit a competent teenager wanting to do a variety of activities.

Only available due to me concentrating on my other horses and not having enough time.

Lots of photos and videos available.

Difficult advert to write as I was hoping to run him through the novices but due to potentially keeping my open whp I can’t run them all and risk a quality pony like himself sat doing nothing!

Rhydyfelin Star Of Merlin

Merlin is an absolute delight to have around, easy to handle in all ways and loves a cuddle! He oozes quality and there’s not many old fashioned types like him about… excellent candidate for the fr/junior/cradles - would also trim up nicely as a SHP!

I brought him in a July as just sat on to produce for the open As . Since then he has attended two ridden shows (winning and taking reserve champ at his first one), and a few arena hires including showing promise over solid fences.

He’s had several different aged jockeys on him proving safe each time and he’s always eager to learn. Eventhough he is green he is never naughty or malicious and really does give his all in every situation.

Has jumped the odd small course at home and is proving willing into a fence.

Has only hacked out in company but leads or follows. Great in most traffic, can have a look at big machinery but doesn’t do anything silly.

Open to viewings and vettings - happy to keep here to produce next year
