We have owned Rupert Bear for 3 years, he’s been solely produced by my 11 year old daughter but sadly he has now been outgrown.
Rupert adores attention and will stand around all day to be fussed. Rupert is very exposed to noisy, wild children and free roaming dogs. He will happily accept a stable full of children with pleasure! Rupert is kept on a busy working farm.
Great to catch, clip, load, travel, brush, mane pull, pick feet, tack up, bath, farrier (barefoot), vet, just generally great to handle in all ways.
Rupert will turn out alone or with others and is often borrowed to keep other horses company. Rupert will turn out alone even if there’s no horses in sight, without fuss. You can also take his field friend away without hassle. He’s great with mares and geldings. Rupert will equally stable alone with no other horses around. Rupert will happily stay in during times of very bad weather. Currently in overnight and out during the day.
Rupert is brilliant to hack in the heaviest of traffic including all farm machinery, lorries, motorbikes, trailers etc. Has been ridden over motorway and train bridges. Will hack alone or in company, my daughter often hacks alone. Not stupid in open spaces but will go if you ask him too. Does gates with ease.
Rupert has been schooled well by my 11 year old daughter. Rupert will occasionally pop a buck in the school, typically when jumping with a more competent rider. He has not done this with my son who is very novice/lead rein.
Rupert has hunted two seasons and attended a meet of 150 riders in Dec’25. Rupert is mannerly and genuine on the field, he has jumped hedges, rails, ditches, walls. He will stand quietly at the meet and between lines but keep up with ease when the field is moving.
Rupert has attended countless funrides where he is always impeccably behaved and jumps everything asked of him. Rupert isn’t fazed by other horses overtaking or being silly. He doesn’t get fizzy.
Rupert has done lots of arena hires, xc schooling, SJ, clinics, dressage etc. He’s been out and seen the world.
Open to any vetting
Only the best of homes for our Rupert Bear as this is an incredibly hard decision for my daughter. We adore this pony and will only allow him to go to the BEST of homes!
