  • Beautiful confirmation and breeding
  • Proven winner in many disciplines
  • Has a lovely temperament and enjoys attention
Such a hard decision, but our lovely girl is available to a special home.

Spirit is an extremely pretty, Welsh section D, 14.2hh, 15 year old bay mare. She has superb breeding, well established paces and a lovely rhythmical ride. Just pops into a frame and is so tick tock in the show ring with her way of going whilst attracting the eye with her looks and presence.

In the 3 years we have had her, Spirit has done a bit of everything with my young teenage daughter, including pony club, hunter trials, showing, fun rides, wh, sj, arena eventing, training camps and so much more.
> competed xc 80/90, unaffiliated sj 70-90, wh 70-90 and novice dressage
> Always does a lovely test, scoring well over 70% in unaffiliated outings
> Sucessful in hand and ridden showing classes, placed 4th and 6th in huge m&m novice/open ridden classes at Scone Palace International Horse trials 2025
> Many wins, placings and proven records in sj, showing, arena eventing, wh, hunter trials, dressage - a true rosette winner!
> Regularly attends pony club / camps/ clinics
> Qualified 2025: eland lodge hunter trials, spring barrier in both pc showjumping and arena eventing championships, novice and open ridden classes at Scone Palace, Caledonian showing championships, west of Scotland wh training stakes championships

Spirit is willing, keen to please, polite and safe. She is easy to handle (daughter does everything herself), wash, catch, clip, load, travel (alone or in company). She hacks alone and in company and has seen all kinds of traffic.

She has good feet (always been barefoot). Up to date with vaccinations, worming, dentist, physio.

This is a very sad and genuine sale of a much loved pony who has looked after my daughter and given us everything. We feel she is a great option for a competent young rider or adult wanting a fun and capable pony. She is fit and ready to go make her new jockeys dreams come true.

Full history known and in touch with breeder / previous owners (yes she has a fan club!)

Fudge is a really nice calm considerate girl, she is a stunning model that’s been there and done it all.
Tonnes of experience and unbelievably safe. Ideal for competent notice riders, or riders who wants to progress and have some fun, she is super steady, calm, she has more woah than go …..she can be a bit of a plod if you simply want to ride on a long rein bareback, despite her laid-back nature she responds to the leg and has 3 excellent paces, with flare and enthusiasm, she is very sensible but can be forward going if your a more experienced rider, not spooky, sharp or silly in anyway, she is responsive to the leg if you can ride and moves beautifully from your leg without being a kick along, whilst remaining calm and relaxed, she is extremely willing and will do anything you ask, she has 3 nice balanced super steady paces, she loves to jump a course of small coloured and rustic fences.

Fudge regularly takes part in our low-level show jumping, cross-country, in-hand, and handy pony competitions here at the riding school. Before joining us, she gained many years of experience competing in Pony Club and Riding Club events. We purchased her two years ago from a private home where she enjoyed plenty of success in these activities. Her distinctive Dartmoor physique and striking good looks have earned her numerous red rosettes wherever she has competed.

She is a fantastic all-rounder.

This is a really fantastic pony for anyone to build up their confidence, continue learning to ride and progress on.
Definitely a 1st and 2nd horse, massive weight carrier.
Perfect kids / adult pony.

10 years Schoolmistress

Fudge is very genuine and loves to hack out, she doesn’t pull, rush, spook or get nervous of anything, Fudge will hack along or in company through the heaviest of very fast moving traffic imaginable without batting an eye lid, she is not perturbed by any kind of vehicles or farm machinery, she has seen every vehicle on the road, she has impeccable manners waiting patiently at very busy road junction, traffic lights and rounder-abouts.

She is 100% safe, steady and collected when ridden in all paces across open fields, regardless of wether she is at the front, middle, back of the ride or on her own, she will not rush, pull, race or try an overtake even on the way home.

She lives out in a mixed herd but is equally happy to be stabled, she keeps herself to herself and never causes any trouble, she is not clingy, she is happy to be stabled or turned out.

Has excellent manners with the farrier and currently barefoot, she is equally happy to be shoed.
She is excellent to catch, load with the farrier, dentist and vet.

She has been a valued member of our busy riding school, showing patience and reliability with a wide variety of riders. More recently, she has occasionally shown a little grumpiness when being tacked up, which we believe is simply due to the frequent girthing, tacking and untacking throughout a fast-paced day. She prefers a quieter one to one setting.

She doesn’t need to be ridden every day she can go without work then be tacked up and ridden without any fuss, she is extremely low maintenance.
She has never been lame had laminitis, sweet itch or sarcoids. No lumps or bumps.
Fudge is a Dartmoor with no papers.

Passes are annual Licence Inspection which is equivalent to a stage 2 vetting.

Looking for a five star private home to give someone the opportunity to purchase a safe and very sensible horse, with so much to offer.

This is a truly heartbreaking sale, but as a riding school we regularly refresh our horses to ensure their wellbeing. The routine can be demanding and repetitive, mainly in the arena carrying riders of varying levels. We believe our wonderful horses and ponies deserve the chance to enjoy a one-to-one partnership in a private home, where they can thrive and continue to be cherished.

Private sale, selling on behalf of working livery.

Simba is the ultimate fun kids pony.

He is easy to work with and a joy to have on the yard.

6yr old, 14.1hh approx grey registered Highland gelding.

Fingal is a very straightforward young pony. He has 3 good paces, and the most genuine, laid back temperament.

Fingal came to us for breaking as a 4yr old, and then spent the summer of his 5yr old year lightly hacking with his owner.

He hacks really well both alone and in company, isn’t phased by much at all, and has no worries about traffic, including heavy farm machinery.

He is good to do on the ground, very easy to catch, shoe, clip, etc. He lives out happily with other horses.

I believe Fingal could do well in the show ring, his sire competed at HOYS, and his half brother took champion at Royal Windsor and qualified for Olympia. I think he could also be a lovely, confidence giving allrounder. We took him to an arena hire and popped him over some small jumps and he also went straight through water, over ditches, and up/down steps without any hesitation.

Sad sale due to owners lack of time.

Idyllic pony , green passport

Been there done it type of pony, in his early years he done lots of in hand showing and first ridden classes , active member of pony club , mounted games, horseball , rallies, XC , polework clinics ,musical rides, showing, stay away shows .

Great pony for kids to learn to ride . He will take your child from lead rein to first ridden

We bought Clive as a first ridden for my daughter who was more independently coming off the lead rein . He has been the best next step pony for her and he is just the most honest and safe pony who will look after his little rider, Has done lots of hacking around and about , goes past tractors , all farm animals , safe with dogs running around. He will step up for an older rider or down for the little rider . He prefers XC rather than showjumping , but will equally happy go over a little course with a leader , following or an older child .

Never sick or sorry, lives on fresh air, currently living out in a herd. Happy to be stabled or shelter . Loves a bath, and good for farrier , clipping he does need sedation , he has had bad previous experience from being twitched . He is good for farrier and does need a lady vet and someone who doesn’t come in and try and stick a needle in him without first giving him some fuss and treats . (Has only ever needed vaccs and teeth doing!) he loads and travels brilliantly. Has stayed out at shows , you can take him to different environments and he is just the same . He is barefoot and up to date with vaccs, worming, teeth and comes with tack (beautiful new saddle fitted ) and rugs.

He is comfortable will all farm machinery and a variety of animals! Snaffle mouthed and never strong or silly , so happy out and about hacking too and loves looking after his little riders out in open spaces . Never changes if left for a week or two and then be ridden . He can be protective of his hay and happy when left alone to eat . He will pull a face to tell you to leave him alone to eat . Never a problem for us. Great to catch .

Very calm in the stable and field, not worried about being on his own. He in his element when he attends pony club with his fellow pony friends . Active member of pony club so always out and about . He has the best character . I can honestly say he has been the best confidence giver ever and this is why we have now come to the point that my daughter would like to take the next step pony , no other reason than my daughter wants to progress from a steady boy who has given her the best confidence from that transition from lead rein . I can’t thank this pony enough for where he has got my daughter too .

Happy to answer any questions you may have , only the best home for this boy

If you’re looking for a safe confidence giving starter pony he is the best .

Please only enquire if you are actively looking for a pony.

  • Marvin - 14.1hh Bay Irish Pony
  • Allrounder | Hack | PC | RC

If you are looking for a pony with personality, engine, and a sparkle in his step, Marvin may just be your chap.

Marvin is a smart 14.1hh bay Irish pony with a fun, forward way of going and a lovely willing attitude. He schools nicely on the flat and has been jumping with us. He was a little rusty to start, as though he had not seen a fence in a while, but the talent is there and he has been improving each week. He is brave, genuine, and enjoys having a job to do.

He is not a kick along type and would suit a confident child, teenager, or small adult who wants to get out, have fun, and enjoy their riding. He has plenty of “go when needed” without being silly, and thrives with a rider who gives him direction.

Previously he was sold to a less confident rider who found him a little green for his age, however he did nothing wrong. With us, he has been out hacking on long rides, schooling, and jumping, taking everything in his stride and proving to be an honest, capable little horse.

We would love to see Marvin continue his education and be enjoyed for what he is, a genuine, fun allrounder with lots to offer. A super little horse type ready for his next adventure.

Serious enquiries welcome.

  • Kind natured

Very smart and correct registered Sec A mare, will make a wonderful all-rounder or ideal for showing. Also a brilliant companion.

Has never kicked or bitten, forward thinking attitude and says yes to everything we ask of her.

Lightly backed due to being used as a companion until last year. Long reining round fields and roads happily, has been ridden around the yard and hacked out in company and alone. Naturally works in a nice outline.

Requires food to catch her in a big field but fine in smaller areas and this has improved with regular and consistent work.

Vaccinated, up to date teeth, worming etc. Ready to go on and find a job now.

No novices, she is only recently backed and I have no doubt she will be an amazing kids pony with mileage but is not suitable for a wobbly unbalanced child yet. Ideal project for a small teenager, my 12yr old has done a lot of work with her and happily catches her, tacks her up and long reins and rides her.

Bridle and rugs available by separate negotiation.

  • Jack – 14hh Approx Attractive Coloured Cob
  • Project price

Jack is a very eye catching 14hh 2021 coloured cob with plenty of presence and a lovely expression. He has all the basics established and is working in walk, trot and canter, he isn’t in an outline yet happily popping a fence and proving to be bold and enjoyable out hacking. snaffle mouthed not strong or stupid. He has the making of a lovely all rounder in the right hands.

Jack is being honestly advertised as a project. He can be defensive at times, possibly around food, and as he is currently stabled full time this may be contributing to some of his behaviour if face pulling or turning round. He can be a little tricky with his back legs, although with a calm and kind approach he is good. When schooling he may occasionally give a buck into canter.

He is not a nasty horse, just a sensitive one who seems to have been unsettled by changes in homes. I feel he would really benefit from a consistent, knowledgeable home where he can relax, feel secure and be enjoyed. With patience and understanding, he has the potential to go on and do a bit of everything.

Jack is up to date with everything and has recently passed a full 5 stage vetting.

A genuine home is most important for this lovely cob.

He is forward going and can be strong but is never nasty, just enthusiastic. Handled by children, can be headstrong on the ground at times, so needs an experienced home with competent adults.

Stepol Northern Dancer ‘;DANCER’, beautiful bay 14.2hh allrounder, Welsh section D mare who loves to be active. 16 years’ old and a genuine schoolmaster, she is great with children of all ages and adults alike but would thrive with a young teenager that she can help step up. She is easy to groom and tack-up with an excellent temperament, great to hack either alone or in company, is good around cars, and loves to jump up to 1m comfortably and has occasionally jumped up to 1m20 single fences. She enjoys flatwork but does not have much experience in dressage, however, would make for a beautiful dressage pony.

She is good to travel, but can sometimes be reluctant to load if she does not travel regularly or is not familiar with box/trailer. She has been to multiple farm rides, non affiliated show jumping competitions, cross country events, arena hires and gallops and has thrived in all areas. She is not strong and has exceptionally good breaks so is only ridden in a snaffle with no flash required. She was also previously part of a Pony Club at a riding school.

For the last couple of years, Dancer has generally only been ridden for non-competitive pleasure but can easily be brought back up to a competing level.

She was bought for 11-year-old daughter and has done well with her for the 5+ years we have owned her, only deciding to sell due to a change in circumstances and time commitments. Dancer is a low maintenance pony, who typically lives out from March through to the end of October with no issues. She prefers life living out and only gets brought in at night during the winter months due to requirements of the livery she is on now but would be happy to live out all year round.

She has never bucked, reared, or kicked people during our ownership, however, does experience mild crib biting after she is given treats or is in the stable for prolonged periods, no health issues relating to cribbing have been identified by her vet.

Dancer has recently attended a lame clinic at Leahurst Equine Practice as she was displaying mild lameness in her left rear hock. Mild arthritis was diagnosed and treated with a steroid injection. Leahurst have monitored progress and Dancer has since passed a follow up vet check for use as an all-rounder. Potential buyer should be aware that she may require a further steroid injection in 12-18 months. Lame clinic notes and clinical discharge notes may be provided if required.

An absolutely wonderful pony ideal for first time or experienced owners alike.
