How have I still got my handsome boy for sale and only had 1 viewing!

Sad sale of my lovely boy only 5** home

15/15.1hh 5 rising 6 (in July) year old green book Connemara gelding with good breeding.
He is a striking unusual silver dun colour.
In Ireland he has previously competed and has 8SJI points in 80cm and 90cm.
Owned since he was a 4 year old and has done a variety while being with me from hacking, riding in big open fields and cross country schooling.
He went Out to his first competition in the uk at the end of last year and did a 75cm arena eventing coming home with a second place rosette. He stood on the lorry while being left to find out results and was fabulous. He is the same at a competition as he is at home.

He has also done xc schooling on grass and on a surface,

He hacks alone and in company like a schoolmaster and can hack for miles he really enjoys it, he has seen a variety of traffic both alone and in company. Has hacked in the heavy winds and doesn’t bat an eyelid.
He is amazing in open fields Im a very nervous rider in them and he looks after me and goes the speed that I’m happy with, he has also popped random logs when he has been riding in the field.

He has 3 correct paces and thrives in a consistent varied work, he will do his flatwork but he is not a dressage horse he loves his jumping, hacking, fieldwork and xc so a home that will do a bit of everything is ideal. He has just started doing some lateral movements both practicing in the school and out on hacks which he is picking up easily.

He has seen a variety of fillers/watertrays, rustic, coloured fences and logs and nothing fazes him, he really enjoys his jumping he is very bold and brave and goes off any stride.

He is snaffle mouthed at all times.
He is fully shod, and upto date with everything, he gets everything regularly checked and done.
He has been loose schooled and loose jumped aswell as been lunged

He had a full check at the end of last year (saddle, teeth, physio, sheath clean etc) and there was a slight change in one of his hocks after being x-rayed so I have had this injected with Alfa2. This doesn’t cause him any issues. Apart from this he has never been sick or sorry in the whole time I’ve owned him.

This decision has not been easy but I need to do what’s best for him and me, I believe in the right home he will go from strength to strength

He is in full work and enjoying himself in a varied work going out on hacks for miles, jumping, lunging and the odd day of schooling.

Competent home sought for my special boy, although he has never done anything he is not suitable for a novice due to his age.
Priced to sell which someone will get a bargain for the quality fun horse he is.

  • Calm, brave and people-oriented temperament
  • 4 years old or over, 148cm+
  • Good bones, kind eye and good jump
I am looking for a Connemara or Connemara part-bred stallion, aged 4 years or older, 148 cm+.

Ideally, he will have a rectangular frame, good bone, a good length of neck, and a beautiful head with a kind eye. A good jump would be a big plus.

Temperament is very important, so he must be very people-oriented, level-headed, calm, and genuinely brave, with good nerves in everyday situations. He should have the kind of nature that will make him a reliable hacking and riding pony in the future.

Of course, he should be sound, healthy, and free from vices.

Jack is a rising 4 (June) Connemara by Maumturk Oliver out of Lough Fee Star.

He is well handled and a joy to be around. He has a sweet trusting nature but is not bolshy or rude.

Would be a lovely summer project for someone and has potential to excel in any sphere.

Lack of time and space forces sale but I have had Jack since he was a yearling and am very fond of him. He will make someone a beautiful pony and I am keen to find the right home for him.

Oscar is a much loved, gorgeous boy, who is for sale because as I’m going travelling. I’ve owned him for around eight years so this decision hasn’t been easy. So need to find him a new best friend and a very loving home.

Would suit a confident/experienced young Rider who wants to have fun with low level riding club activities like pony club. Would also suit a mother/daughter share. Isn’t a first pony or a novice ride.

Oscar loves hacking and going on adventures. Not phased by traffic or livestock.
Hasn’t hacked alone in a while, can be a little nappy alone but with someone who is confident enough to push him forward, should be good as gold.

He works very nicely in the school, has shown some beautiful dressage movements but wouldn’t say its his favourite thing to do. He gets quite lazy and can also test his rider and see what he can get away with, by chucking in a buck in there. Once shown he can’t get away with this then never puts a hoof out of place.

Oscar loves jumping, i’ve jumped here and there whilst owning him but I believe he did a bit with his previous owner. Has also done cross-country, hunted and showjumping courses with his previous owner.

He’s gone to a few show jump clinics with his current rider height around 60 to 70 cm, but he could go higher as he has previously.

Oscar is amazing to shoe clip and handle in every way on the ground and off.

Does get slightly nervous travelling and loading due to a scare in a trailer a few years back and hasn’t done a lot of travelling since. Although the last few times he’s been very good, quite nervous in the trailer and sweaty when arrives. Can’t imagine this would be a big issue if worked on as he was as good as gold travelling before.

He is one in 1 million horse. I’ve had such a fun time with him, so only want to send him to an honest and loving home. No time wasters please.

Derrylough Laddie (Harry) - 148cm 10yo Connemara Gelding | Ultimate Allrounder | Junior BS Schoolmaster

Harry is a much-loved 10-year-old Connemara gelding with a fantastic record and a genuinely versatile CV. A true family friend, he has successfully turned his hoof to everything asked of him and is now fit and out competing on the junior bs circuit.

He has competed in:

NSEA competitions
Junior British Showjumping
One Day Events (ODEs)
Hunting
Sponsored rides and all riding club activities

Harry is a straightforward, genuine ride with a kind temperament. He is safe and sensible enough for novice riders, yet talented and careful enough to be competitive, making him an ideal step-up pony for a rider wanting to progress and win.

He is well-schooled on the flat, brave to a fence, and knows his job in the ring. Happily travels, stands on the lorry, and behaves impeccably at shows — a real pleasure to have on the yard.

While Harry looks after his riders, he is currently enjoying competing and therefore we would love to see him continue in a competitive, active home where he can keep fulfilling his potential.

Only homes looking for a pony to do PC/BS/Be etc competitions to apply please. This boy has a lot to offer and we would love nothing more than to see him out winning.

A genuine, heartbreaking sale of a very special pony on behalf of owner.

Harry has been seen to pull a face in the stable, however once he knows you he is fine and we have small children tacking him up.

Koda has done stayaways and pony club camp. She won her ODE in her group at 90 round a BE course.

For the last 12 months Koda has been ridden by an 11yo girl, Annalisa who needed a bridge from her 12.2 to her 14.2. With this family Koda did a hunting season and proved herself to be a super hunting pony; well behaved and scope for anything!
She also did loads of xc schooling, pony club rallies and unaffiliated shows, and her flatwork was brought on hugely.

She is at her best 80-1m but has jumped 110 bs, she would just need more producing over that height.
She is a demon against the clock, she turns easily with good balance, can go on any stride and is careful.
At home she’ll go 1.20 and even the odd 1.30.

She’s super PC/NSEA/BE/BS Pony, the last couple of shows she’s jumped in 3 classes and won one and second in the other two.

She is good on the ground, and had a lot of joining up work done with Annalisa over the last year.
Fine to travel, shoe and clip.

Koda is a pony that brings home the rosettes and smiles.

Little L is 148cm and rising 5years. He has been produced correctly and carefully over the past year, not rushed or overworked.

Little L has been with us since a foal and has always been a pure joy to work with and has taken everything in his stride and is the type of pony who will turn his hooves to any challenge and has never said no to a new task. He has been on beach rides, challenging trail rides, hunting, cross country, placed 1st and 2nd at the Munster Eventing Summer Series 2025 and qualified for the final, as well as an unaffiliated Dressage Ireland Show in October 2025.

Little L can be clipped free standing by one person, is good with the farrier and self loading onto trailers. His ground manners are very good, he has no lumps and bumps and is up to date with dental and chiropractic check ups. He lives in and out, is easy to catch from the field and a social pony who has always been very good with mares and foals and geldings.

We're looking for a very good home for Little L, ideally with someone who loves the outdoors as much as he does and will further continue his education.

148cm 6yo Connemara x TB Competition Pony

A very exciting opportunity to purchase a talented young pony with exceptional breeding and a huge future ahead.

She is a 148cm, 6-year-old Connemara x TB, ideally suited to a competitive home for BS or eventing. She is full of courage and full of jump, bold, brave and genuinely not the spooky type. Very willing and exceptionally clever, she is straightforward to train and picks up new things quickly. She is a happy, positive pony who enjoys her work.

Outstanding Competition Breeding
• By Western Chief
• Sire line includes Nijinsky
• Dam line includes Secretariat
• Half-brother to Kingstown Rebel (HOYS 148 winner, now showjumping in Belgium)

Her dam was never backed, but her granddam was the breeder’s daughter’s top-class SJ/WHP pony, consistently successful at a high level.

Western Chief has produced numerous FEI event ponies (particularly 10–15 years ago before going to private stud). This pedigree is proven for producing bright, athletic and talented competition ponies.

She has been carefully and slowly produced with her long-term future in mind:
• Enjoyed plenty of hacking and varied work
• Recently started jumping under saddle
• Already showing real enthusiasm and natural ability
• Brave, forward-thinking and proving to be a genuine “run and jump” type

She is progressing quickly and has all the attributes to excel in the right competitive home.

Hacks out along and in company.

Temperament
• No vices
• Easy to handle
• A real people-person
• Lovely to have on the yard

She is a pleasure to deal with in every way and has a kind, affectionate personality to match her talent.

Open to vetting and X-rays

Full disclosure of reason for sale. A genuine and sad sale due to unfortunate circumstances — a 5?? home is the absolute priority, and we would love to keep in touch.

Nial - 14.2/3hh rising 5 year old Connemara x ish gelding.
Nial has been a lot of joy to produce these last few months, he’s come on leaps and bounds and is now ready to give his next jockey a lot of fun and success.
He is a flashy mover and is schooling sweetly on the flat, does know his changes and walk to canter with riders support, he can still be green in places but he is always eager and so willing to please, he is a forward going type so does require a competent but soft and quiet rider.
He is currently competing upto senior British novices on tickets with plenty of potential for more, Nial has never said no or stopped at a showjump, he is extremely brave and bold
He has also been cross country schooling and again was very bold and brave, popped everything from logs, ditches, skinny’s and bush fences.
I have hunted Nial twice upto now and he was an absolute machine, he was forwards and enjoyed being at the front but never attempted to take off or pass the masters, his first time going he popped a line of meaty hedges without hesitation or a lead, he stood at the half way meet lovely and walked quiet and calm on the buckle when the hunt was walking.
He is great to hack alone and in company will lead or follow, he’s fab in all traffic(tractors, motorbikes etc etc) and again will go on the buckle, could have the odd look at things but would never do anything naughty or silly, reassurance is key, he is the type who takes a lot from his rider, a confident and calm rider is key.
He is an absolute pleasure to have in my stable, he is a true gentleman, who is so kind and sweet natured he would never dream of hurting a fly.
He travels and loads very well, I think one day he will load himself! He stands on the box while I compete my other horse in later classes and is very well behaved. We have a trailer but I’m certain he would be absolutely fine on and to load onto a lorry as he came over from Ireland.
He is good to shoe however can be a little shy of the farrier himself but once he gets to know him he gets his feet done no problem at all, he doesn’t play up or kick etc he just has the odd snort with owners reassurance he stands very good.
To clip he does require sedation as he is nervous so to give him a better experience I have preferred to sedate, however I have managed to get head to toe off.
He is easy enough for a family home but equally has enough potential to be a top competition pony, whether that was to be in showjumping, eventing, working hunter or pony club, he is the type you could make into anything you wanted.
Although he is safe and sensible he is a blood competion pony who can still be a little green with his inexperienced places, but with consistency and his incredible attitude I think he will go a long way with the right jockey.
He is upto date with everything farrier, dentist, physio etc, he is fully vaccinated.
Serious enquiries only, I will only let him go to a 5?? home, if he was 16hh plus he wouldn’t be going anywhere!

This is an abolutley heartbreaking sale of Sammy. I have owned Sammy for 4 years, and ONLY selling due to not having the time he deserves anymore.

Sammy absolutley loves life. He loves to be out and about, he loves fuss and attention, he loves new adventures. He is never sick or sorry and never has an off day. Sammy is a very forward going ride, and is always full of energy and fun.

Showjumping
Sammy loves showjumping. He never ever refuses, he will attempt the jump infornt of him no matter how wrong his rider is. Sammy is comfortable jumping up to 90cm courses, however I do feel that with the right education he is certainly capable of much more.
He is very forward going over a jump. He locks on and hes going over it. He occasionaly does a little leap going into the jump. But this is all part of the fun. He is great in a jump off, got the speed and the turns. Sammy is very rarely not placed in a show.

Hacking
A wonderful hack. Forward, fun, but safe. Sammy has done beach rides, pub rides, fun rides, hacks on his own, in a large group and is fantastic in traffic. He has a fast walk and is usually up front, but will hapily walk on the buckle. If we are in a group and we canter, he is easy enough to hold back and stay at the back. He is never out of control or bombs off. He has hunted a handful of times and was very well behaved, no different to his usual self out hacking.

Cross country / arena eventing
Nothing phases sammy, he will jump ditches, logs, bushes, trees, hedges and water. Happy to land in water. Sammy has done the derby show in broomes plenty of times and has never put a stop in, and charges across the bridge.

Sammy is easy to handle in all situations. He is calm, kind, and always full of mischeif. Sammy has a massive personality and never fails to make us laugh.
Sammy is good to shoe, catch, clip, and load.
He lives with mares and geldings, and is stabled at night in the winter.
He does like turn out as he gets bored.

The Negatives
As ive said, sammy is forward going, and he does like a cheeky buck. It is absolutley nothing malicious, it is purely playfulness. His bucking is worse when he is ridden in the school at home. When he is in a show, he never bucks in the ring. Might have one in the warm up, but never in the ring. When we are out hacking, if he knows he is on a canter path, he wil do a little buck as if it to say "come on lets canter" but like I said, he never bolts off. My mum hacks him often, and even though she is very experienced, she is also a pretty nervous rider, but she really enjoys riding him.
I let my daughter ride him, and I let my friends ride him, with no concerns whatsoever. He is just not for a novice.

Sammy would be perfect for a confident teenager who just wants to go out and do everything and have loads of fun.

Sammy will only be going to the most perfect home, No timewasters, as I cannot stress enough what a hard sale this is.

148cm cremello registered Connemara mare 6 yrs by knockdomney Boy X Canal Feilim ( registered name is Highland Robin)

Potential top class BS/BE pony, she is very talented!

I imported Moomin from Ireland as a 4 yr old, she then got fatter… and fatter…. Was scanned in foal, sold to a friend and produced a stunning dun colt. She has now returned to find her own home and career after being on loan to novice child over the past year. She would best suit either a confident teen or small adult to produce her on further as she hasn’t seen a lot of the world yet.

Moomin has tons of potential to make a really classy competition pony in the right hands. Equally she could go on to be a lovely PC pony or even just a hack, she guarantees dilute foals and was a wonderful mum, so her possibilities are endless.

This pony is a proper jumper, she’s clever, careful and gives the best feeling over a fence, she is still green as has had no miles in the ring so needs to go to a home capable of producing a good pony. She has top track scope and technique and also measures in bang on so will be a great prospect in the right hands. She been with us a couple of months but due to rider injury she is a little further behind than we would ideally have liked and we haven’t been able to get her out anywhere ourselves yet.

She works very sweetly on the flat and has three correct paces, she will easily go BE and has scope for pony trials. Moomin loves XC and is bold and lots of fun. She has hunted with us and was a real pocket rocket, jumped everything and loved it, .

She hacks out sensibly both alone and in company and is good in traffic.

To handle she is very easy, never mareish or grumpy, brilliant to catch, box, shoe, clip.

A fantastic small horse who truly does it all — safe enough for a child, yet talented and competitive enough for an adult.

He has experience across all disciplines, from dressage to hunting, and behaves impeccably in every situation. Wherever he goes, he turns heads with his presence and manners.

He works in a correct, rhythmical way and is schooling towards Elementary/Medium level with lovely balance and self-carriage.

A pleasure to hack both alone and in company. He canters out sensibly in open spaces and is unphased by traffic, although we are based in a quiet village.

An absolute dream to hunt. He was ridden by a teenage girl and behaved impeccably throughout, standing quietly and enjoying the day.

Excellent to load, shoe, clip, catch and handle. A genuine, easy horse to have around the yard.

A rare find – a kind, talented and versatile horse who would suit a wide range of riders.
