Meet Robby – The Ultimate Schoolmaster & Confidence Giver

Robby is a lovely 17-year-young, 16.2hh Maxi Cob gelding looking for a kind and knowledgeable home where he can enjoy happy hacking, hunting and fun days out.

A genuine schoolmaster and nanny horse, Robby has taught countless riders over the years. He is a real confidence giver and an easy, enjoyable ride. Anyone can hack him out and he has safely introduced many people to riding and hunting. He loves beach rides, pub rides, and a day out with the hounds, and has given many riders their first enjoyable days hunting.

He does require a little management once a year to keep him comfortable. X-rays have shown slight navicular changes in his near fore. His coffin joint has been injected and he wears pads in front. He is currently sound, happy and still enjoying his job, with no reason he couldn’t do a few more seasons.

Please note: Robby will not pass a full vetting, so please don’t enquire if this is essential. However, he passes the veterinary inspection every year for my riding school licence and continues to work happily.

Stunning 16.1hh rising 4yo (2022) Plot Blue/Nigrasine (TB) line, so bred for top level sport. She is blood, athletic with a lovely natural step. This beautiful lady has been on this planet before!

Lightly backed by a small amateur lady on her own, before coming to us to find her, her new human. She’s literally the easiest, kindest young horse I think we’ve ever encountered. Only for sale due to personal circumstances meaning her owner is reducing numbers.

Purchased as a 3yo, with the intention of keeping her forever, she is being slowly produced with the future in mind. That said, she already rides beautifully on the flat, and to a fence already for her age.

This wonderful mare has scope within her paces, jump and trainable attitude to think she’ll very easily excel through to the highest level with an ambitious amateur or professional. Rarely do you encounter a horse with a talent and work ethic like hers - she’s truly a superstar in the making!

She’s seen xc fences twice, including ditch, water etc and literally jumped around like a 10yo! Not spooky or looky, just gets on with the job.

She loads, travels and stands on the truck on her own, with no bother if you take another one off. Easy to clip, worm, shoe, hack etc, etc, etc

Excellent trial facilities at home in Rutland, or for hire within a 10 mile radius.

She really is a superstar in the making - with all the talent for the very highest level. (and the attitude that would enable an amateur athlete to realise their wildest dreams!)

£8000 budget. Could possibly stretch for the right horse, but my bank balance is suffering after lots of vet treatment & transport issues recently!!

Open to ideas re. age and experience - I would consider something younger and ready to step up the levels or something slightly older and more established.
MUST pass a 5-stage vetting and x-rays (I have had 2x horses with kissing spine in the last 18 months, one of which had to be retired).

Must be good to do/polite in all aspects - clip, load (trailer or lorry), shoeing, teeth, catching etc, and no vices. Must also be able to live out in a herd with 3x other geldings and hack alone.

Preferably something forward going but not silly or sharp. Ideally a willing, genuine attitude - absolutely no rearing, napping, wild bucks (an occasional exuberant one is understandable), etc.

5* loving, forever home for the right horse - my horses want for nothing and enjoy doing a bit of everything, including Riding Club, hacking and competing in all disciplines. I am a UKCC L3 coach, PC AH & B+ test holder and have evented at BE100/PC100+, SJ unaffiliated at 1.10m and competed in BD up to elementary.
