Cloudy is a gorgeous grey Connemara gelding who wants to please and is a genuine safe horse.
We have owned him for 4 years and have a great bond so this is a very sad sale.
Would suit a confident and experienced adult or older teen wanting to do dressage (as he excels at this), hacking, schooling, low level jumping and fun rides.
Cloudy is talented at dressage and from the age of 6 has never had a score lower than 66%, with his scores in the last year being in the 70’s.
He came 8th at pony club area dressage and qualified for Bicton last year, always producing a calm rhythmical test. He has been working at prelim but is more than ready to step up to novice.
Cloudy loves hacking around the countryside. Through no fault of his own he is not as confident hacking solo as he has mainly been ridden out with other horses or someone on foot due to rider age. Would develop more confidence with more experience. He is not dangerous in any way however, sometimes he needs rider encouragement to go forwards when hacking alone. Would hack all day on the buckle when with others.
Brilliant with all traffic and farm machinery as he lives on a busy lane.
He is great to school and a very easy enjoyable ride, however can be lazy. He has a lovely floaty trot and knows rein-back, turn on the forehand etc. He is a quick thinker and learner and enjoys polework. He is very good to ride in open spaces, never feeling out of control. The kind of horse you can trust to stop easily when going for a gallop. His first fun ride was Badminton and he was a dream.
Good to clip, shoe and will stand all day at a show. The kind of horse that pony club DC’s pick for bandaging practice at rallies! Happily turns out with mares or geldings. He is great travelling in a trailer without a partition as he prefers more space; we haven’t travelled him in a box before but we’re sure he would be fine. Good to load. Up to date with worming, back, teeth and vaccinations.
We have had a brilliant 4 years with him doing loads of competitions including showjumping, eventing, pony club, area and pony camps with him being super throughout. We recently discovered he has arthritis in his hocks, and he has been treated for this. We therefore don’t want him to go to a jumping home as we think this would be unfair on him. My daughters passion is eventing, and unfortunately he is not suitable for this due to his hocks, hence the reluctant sale.
He has previously been treated for ulcers, which we now know was caused by discomfort from his arthritis. It shows what a genuine and honest horse he is that he never bucked or reared even when in a high level of work. Can be sensitive to groom in stomach/flank area due to previous ulcers. Price reflects his health problems.

She has been to a handful of arenas where she takes it in her stride & has behaved very well. This was before the winter, she then had a holiday & started work again quietly in April.

She loves to jump & has plenty of stride. She has jumped logs out hacking & could be produced for eventing, jumping or moves well enough for pure dressage. She has a super hind leg & uphill canter, giving her good natural balance. She will sometimes pop in a change between fences, although this isn’t something I have pushed for.

He has been xc schooling and equally as bold and brave so could definitely be a BE contender with the work put in as dressage is not something we do, although he has done some in his previous home. Could also see him team chasing.

He is lovely to hack in company, not strong, will lead or follow and good in traffic. He has done beach rides/fun rides/forest rides. He lacks confidence hacking alone but could be worked on as he has done it.
He stands politely to mount, opens gates, does ride and lead. Could also suit an experienced mother daughter share.

I am looking for a confident, competitive rider who can get the best out of him to have fun and enjoy him, someone that loves to jump 80/90 plus. He would suit an older teenager or young adult or someone wanting a talented competitive horse or a fun allrounder. Snaffle mouth so not strong.

Hunted as a 4yo, Currently unregistered due to no fault of her own but she has numerous double clears and wins British novice and discovery and qualified and competed winter blue chip championships 2024

She has amazing technique over a fence, never ever says no and is super careful.

I bought chilli in April 2024 when she competed at blue chip with the aim to compete, a month later I fell pregnant, she then had a well deserved 6 months off then has been back in work since.

There is nothing about her that lives upto the stereotypical “chestnut mare” she’s super chilled, amazing to handle, load, bath, clip, now wearing shoes, is used to dogs, goats, pigs, cows.

She has been ridden by novice riders, I always hack on my own she’s great in open spaces, on roads and with traffic, I’ve put a lot of schooling into her, she’s light and supple in the contact always ridden in a snaffle, we have done loads of training, fun rides, hound exercises, gallops, waded in rivers and just had fun without pressure but I now feel she deserves to be competing again and I’ve came to the realisation my head isn’t in it anymore after having my little boy!

This isn’t a decision I’ve came to lightly, homes will be vetted and I’d love to stay in touch.
