The Ultimate Confidence Giver
One In A Million This Mare Has Got It All
Margo is an exceptional 15.2hh 6 year-old Cob mare who offers the rare combination of safety, strength, experience, and a heart of gold. She is kind, bold, dependable, weight carrier, ideal for a wide range of riders – from complete beginners, nervous adults and children to more experienced jockeys who prefer a calm and steady ride.
Margo is beautifully put together and has been there, done that, in every sense. A calm, considerate and willing mare, she is the definition of safe and steady. She has more whoa then go if you’re less experienced but also has a fifth gear if you can ride she’s so adaptable, she can be ridden by completing novices then pick up her pace if you can ride, making her a perfect mount for riders who want to enjoy their riding at a relaxed pace without compromising on ability or responsiveness.
Ultimate All-Rounder
Margo has spent the last 18 months in a professional riding school environment and she has excelled with every level of rider, from novices to advanced, both under saddle and during stable management activities.
She has experience in flatwork lessons, both private and group, as well as participating in our in-house showjumping and cross-country competitions. She absolutely loves to jump and is confident over coloured and rustic fences she has a bold, careful jump. She would easily compete in showjumping, cross-country, working hunter, one-day events and hunting.
Margo absolutely loves to hack out and does so safely and calmly. She will happily hack alone or in company and has been exposed to the heaviest, fastest-moving traffic imaginable. She is completely unphased by buses, lorries, farm machinery and all types of vehicles. She remains safe and steady in all environments and does not rush or pull, even in open spaces or on the way home, you can gallop her across open fields with loose horses running along side her, then immediately pull her up and allow her to walk on a long rein or ask her to stand while horses run around her, she is most definitely not sharp, spooky or spiny.
She has been truly exceptional during her time on the riding school, she is unbelievable forgiving when rider lose their balance, struipps or have a bad stride into a fence, she always takes care of her riders, her substantial build, with a leg in each corner, combined with her calm disposition, sure-footedness, and gentle nature, gives even the most nervous riders the confidence to progress and excel. She will stand patiently at the mounting block for as long as needed, without moving an inch. I can honestly say she has absolutely no quirks, negative or marish traits.
Although she is happy to go at a quiet steady pace, she is also responsive to the leg and has three beautiful balanced, steady paces. For more experienced riders, she will work into a nice outline with enthusiasm and energy, always staying calm and sensible, she has never bolted, bucked, reared, kicked or bitten, she is the most loving kind mare you could ever wish to meet. Snaffle mouth with absolutely no gadgets. She will work into a nice outline, however due to being ridden by a varied clientele of novices, she has been allowed to carry her head high as most of her riders have limited knowledge.
Margo has outstanding ground manners. She stands for hours to be groomed and fussed over, with or without a head collar or lead rope. She is never marish or clingy, and she happy living in or out. In the field, she keeps herself to herself and never causes trouble, whether stabled alone or turned out in a mixed herd.
Margo has a history of excellent health and has never had laminitis, sweet itch, sarcoids, or any lumps, bumps, or unsoundness.
She is currently barefoot with strong, healthy hooves and is equally happy to be shod. She is excellent to clip, bath, catch, great to load and travel, fantastic with the farrier, vet, and dentist.
She is incredibly low maintenance, requiring no daily work. She can have weeks or even months off and return to ridden work without any fuss. She maintains her condition year-round on a simple diet and is easy to manage in every way.
She passes our riding school annual Licence Inspection, which is the equivalent of a Stage 2 vetting.
Margo is a rare gem. She is the perfect choice for someone looking for a calm, dependable, and capable all-rounder. Whether you’re re a nervous adult, a beginner rider, someone looking for a safe happy hacker, or a family looking for a versatile and loving horse, Margo fits the bill perfectly.
