A beautiful, kind and much-loved mare who catches the eye wherever she goes. Poppy has been with us since she was five, so her full history is known.
Poppy has successfully competed at many venues around the country. She is a winning machine up to 1m–1.05m, and has competed up to 1.10m. She is forward-thinking, careful and competitive over a fence, loves a jump-off and is not at all spooky.
She works nicely on the flat and has benefitted from regular dressage lessons, developing a lovely way of going. She has a fantastic work ethic and is safe and grounded without being sharp or silly.
She is a real yard favourite with a lovely personality. She is snaffle-mouthed, sensible and straightforward to handle, and is good to hack, load, shoe and travel. She is affectionate and easy in the stable, with plenty of lovely character.
Full veterinary disclosure
Poppy recently failed a pre-purchase vetting, where she showed mild lameness when circled on a hard surface. Further investigation identified arthritic changes in her hocks and inflammation in her front feet.
She has since received veterinary treatment and her minor lameness has improved considerably. She remains in full work, although she may still show approximately 1/10 lameness when circled on a hard surface. She is also carrying a little more weight than ideal.
Her veterinary findings, treatment and progress will be discussed openly with serious prospective buyers.
This is a very difficult and genuine sale. Her price is substantially below what a mare of her quality, temperament and competition record would otherwise command, reflecting the findings from her recent vetting and the management she may require.
Poppy may suit an experienced, knowledgeable home looking for a safe and competitive horse and prepared to manage her appropriately.
