Duchess is a serious stamp, that would excel as a show hunter, hunter or dressage horse.

Duchess is nicely bred, she is an Irish sports horse by ID stallion Western Blues out of an irish sports horse mare by Dock Leaf, she only has a small amount of TB blood, and to look at she looks like a full ID with good conformation and bone.

Duchess has previously been hunting in Ireland, once imported to the UK she has been in an amateur home enjoying hacking schoolwork, and riding club activities.

On the flat Duchess works in a beautiful outline showing off her stamp and presence. She is currently working at prelim/novice level with all the ability and attitude to go up the levels. She has competed at a training show with us, she was well behaved and judges commented on her correct way of going and ability.

Duchess hasn’t done an excessive amount of jumping due to her previous home not being jumpers. She has been around courses here of 70/80cm always progressing well and eager to please. She would be a super allrounder for someone wanting to have fun.

Duchess is good to hack alone and in company, and would certainly enjoy being back out on the hunt field, and recently did some fun rides. She is mannerly and does not get hot up in open spaces. Good in traffic, and is a reliable sort out hacking.

Duchess is not marish, she is good in the stable. She is good to catch, load, shoe, clip etc. She is a very easy horse to deal with and a pleasure to have on the yard.

For sale on behalf of a client, a sad sale with a genuine reason. Good home is priority.

BILBO

Bilbo is well known to us as we sold him as a four year old to his current owner. She has done a bit of everything with him and sent him back to us 14 months ago to find a new home, when push came to shove she couldn’t bare to part with him and she took him home again, shortly after this finding out she was pregnant and so he has been on loan to a local equine college for the past year. Bilbo has decided that college life is not for him and he would like a more varied workload and so has returned to us as his owners family keeps growing and she’s now not in a position to have him home.

Although he has worked in the college riding school he has learnt to get a little cheeky with the novices. Since being with us and being properly ridden again he hasn’t put a hoof wrong. Bilbo has been nicely schooled and works very well on the flat, he’s done some unaffiliated dressage and would enjoy continuing this. He will happily jump round a course of 70/80cm currently, isn’t bothered by fillers, water trays etc. and is brave and genuine. He has had limited XC outings but again is brave and gives a good feeling over a fence. He’s a solid chap and obviously not bred to show jump but gives everything a go and is good fun. I would say a competent novice who wants to do a bit of everything would be ideal for him, hes not sharp or silly but has a brain and found riding school work very boring.

Bilbo loves his hacking both alone and in company, he’s good in open spaces and good in traffic. He needs to find a rider who will give him variety in his work as the more he does the sweeter he is. He hunted in his youth with us and loved it and would love to get out again

Bilbo is very easy in and out the stable, good to box, catch, shoe, clip etc. and happy to live in or out. He’s a nice person to have in on the yard.
