Rain is so far proving to be a calm, level headed and highly trainable filly. She’s really affectionate and very food orientated. She’s been doing lots of groundwork and spook busting type training as well as walking out in hand. She has ponied off my other mare and understands about pressure and release.
- trailers on her own and in company
- Has won at inhand showing and is very well behaved in the ring, standing patiently and trotting when asked to
- Will loose school in a round pen and understands how to move away from you and change direction
- Walks over tarpaulin and is used to flags and umbrellas
- Walks over poles on the ground
- Has been led out in hand over and under motorway bridges and seen lots of traffic. Is more interested in whatever treats you have and would be a great trick pony or clicker training prospect if thats your thing
- Currently lives on a working farm with cows, pigs and sheep and thinks nothing of it
- Bit of a pansy about water crossings but I’ve not spent any time on this
- Very bold and curious
- Prefers to stop and process than rush or bolt past something scary
- Has her own set of hoofboots and is comfortable having them put on and taken off
- Trailered to a farm ride, ponied off another horse round the farm ride, then trailered home again
- Is used to a quarter sheet, roller, breastplate and leg wraps/boots. She isnt phased by anything
- I did a bib clip on her over winter because she was sweating up and she didnt care at all
- Is used to having her legs, ears, bridlepath and chin trimmed with clippers just as general tidying
- Good with the vet and farrier. Infact, seems to think all humans are there to fuss her
- She had a physio session before xmas to start her off as I meant to go on and really enjoyed it. We aimed to keep the session short to build a positive experience for the future
I can’t think of much she hasn’t done or seen. She loads easily into a trailer for a carrot. She’s an incredibly sweet filly with a bright future ahead of her and this is a really sad sale.
She’s currently living out with a herd of other youngstock in North Yorkshire but is stabled over winter in both a loose box and an american barn and is happy in both.
