Guinness – 4-Year-Old Irish Draught Cross Gelding – A Showstopper with a Heart of Gold

We are proud to present Guinness, a truly exceptional 4-year-old Irish Draught Cross gelding standing at 16.1hh. Purchased directly from the breeder, Guinness is the epitome of elegance and quality, wrapped in a striking black coat that gleams with health and vitality. He is the complete package: rare in both looks and temperament, with the kind of presence that draws admiration wherever he goes.

Guinness is the definition of a gentleman. Despite his young age, he carries himself with maturity and steadiness well beyond his years. He is kind, affectionate, and easy to handle, thriving on attention and affection. Whether it’s a quiet grooming session or a cuddle in the stable, Guinness adores people and always enjoys being part of the action. His calm, sensible nature makes him a pleasure to have around, yet he is never dull—he approaches each ride with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to please. He is easy to shoe, box, catch, clip, ride and in traffic, he hacks out alone or in company.

Under saddle, Guinness is a beautifully light and expressive mover. He is naturally straight and balanced, with a rhythmic, flowing stride that makes him stand out both on the flat and over fences. He is soft in the contact, working in a snaffle at all times, and is both light and responsive to the aids. His trainability is outstanding; he learns quickly, listens intently, and never says no to a challenge.

Guinness has already started his jumping education, confidently schooling up to 90cm with scope for more. He takes everything in stride, showing bravery, carefulness, and enthusiasm—whether it’s in the arena or out on a cross-country course. His love for jumping is matched by his composure and focus, making him a joy to develop in this area.

In dressage, Guinness shows tremendous promise. His elegant, expressive movement, natural rhythm, and willing attitude make him an ideal candidate for those wanting to progress in this discipline. He has the movement and mindset to be competitive, yet is straightforward enough to suit a rider looking for an enjoyable, trainable partner for schooling and local competitions alike.

Guinness already boasts some impressive early achievements. As a three-year-old, he was shown in-hand and took Champion honors, praised for his excellent conformation and presence. He has taken part in charity rides, always behaving impeccably, and showing just how adaptable and reliable he is in different environments.

This young gelding is incredibly versatile. Whether you’re looking for a competition partner, a quiet hacking companion, or a safe and fun family horse, Guinness has the temperament and ability to fit the bill. He is suitable for a variety of riders—from a confident novice or amateur rider to someone seeking an all-rounder with talent to produce. His calm demeanor and easy nature also make him ideal as a mother-daughter share or for use in a riding school setting.

Guinness is good to shoe, box, clip, catch, and ride in traffic. He has no stable vices and is open to any vetting. Delivery to your yard within the UK is included in the price, and we offer an exchange option if for any reason you’re not satisfied.

Guinness is a rare find: a beautifully put together young horse with a golden temperament, bags of potential, and a loving heart. He is ready to begin the next chapter of his journey with someone who will bring out the best in him.

Please scroll down to view his video and feel free to contact me anytime on +353 86 807 7626 or by email at gertytynan@gmail.com. Don’t miss this opportunity to make this extraordinary young gelding part of your future.

Mr Buck - Buck has been with us for a little while now, and we feel he’s finally ready to begin the search for his perfect forever home

Currently standing at approximately 15.2hh and rising 4 years old, Buck came to us a little underweight and in the middle of a major growth spurt. He’s since enjoyed some well-earned time eating to his hearts content and he’s looking better every day.

Buck is by Whitelease Dominion, a stallion renowned for producing countless show ring champions. With that kind of breeding behind him, it’s easy to imagine Buck stepping into the ring and holding his own in the future. He’s got quality written all over him — it’s just taking a bit of time for all the pieces to come together! He doesn’t have his breeding recorded on his passport but the breeder has advised us he would be eligible too.

At the moment, he’s sporting a bit of a mismatched frame/ugly duckling/overgrown foal stage (as many youngsters do at this age), but he has a lovely head and a kind, intelligent expression that hints at the handsome, well-balanced horse he’s destined to become.

Lightly handled, Buck has a sweet and sensible nature. He’d be a lovely project for someone looking for a genuine youngster to bring on and truly make their own.

He still has plenty of growing and filling out to do still, so we’re looking for a home that will give him the time and care he deserves.

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne

Sensibly priced in the low four figures

Please get in touch for more information or to come and meet him — we’d love to see him find the right person to grow and shine with ??

Suzie is very sadly looking for a new home due to her owners change in circumstances. She is very much part of there family and finding her the right home is there top priority.

Suzie was used in a riding school where she was used for hacking and leading treks which is where her current owners brought her from, they have owned her for three years where they have mainly used her for hacking and fun rides.

She has attended pony club camp and has taken part in a 100 mile ride across wales over several days.

She is super easy to handle on the ground, loves being groomed and having a fuss. Perfect to clip, catch, shoe etc.

Suzie is up to date with everything and has no medical history that her last two owners know off.

‘Our Mathilda’ Mathilda was imported from Ireland a year and a half ago, where she came out of training as being ‘too slow’. Which is very easy to appreciate as sometimes she can be described as a cob in a tb suit! She is a relaxed and easy little horse and will mooch out hacking on the buckle end all day!

Mathilda is working well in the school and has began her education in flat work. She has taken to this like a duck to water. She is intelligent and willing to learn and work and enjoys her job. She has a lovely mouth and works consistently on the bridle in walk, trot and canter. She has been out to a couple of dressage tests and was fabulous in the lorry/warm up/and not spooky at the boards/car!

She has a lovely pop, and is bold over all fillers. She isn’t spooky atall, and has been to show jumping clear round show. We have kept the fences small (70cms) as she is still developing her technique and confidence around a course, but she has lots of scope to go on to be a top end riding club horse.

She hacks alone and in company, is good in all traffic. I have passed tractors and motorcycles and she has been good as gold. She’s not a spooky horse in any way and I have never found her to be sharp. She never naps and enjoys to be out and about, ears always pricked!

Mathilda is good to shoe- stands tied up for the farrier to shoe alone. she can fidget a little with her hinds but never lashes out or kicks and this has improved with each shoeing.

Mathilda will happily live in or out. She turns out in with other mares I don’t personally mix mares and geldings but she is a quiet type and I’ve never noticed if or when she is in season, so I wouldn’t say she is a Mareish horse atall. She never pulls a face or puts her ears back at you.

Mathilda loads onto my 3.5 lorry easily and travels well, I haven’t had her in a trailer as I don’t have one, but it is known that she travels on one from previous owners. She will stand at a show on the lorry when her friend is taken away with no bother.

She moves straight and correct and her flat work is coming on all the time, i think Mathilda would excel in a riding club home, I see her as being a fabulous event horse as she is so bold and willing and generous wither work ethic. She is straight moving and has a lovely trot so would also excel in RoR showing classes or pure dressage.

Mathilda is vice free and has clean limbs, no sarcoids, sweet itch.

Doesn’t include tack/wardrobe.

Open to any vetting

Up to date with teeth, physio and vaccinations.

This is a little horse that I am very very fond of, so 5* home is paramount!

This lovely type has hunted two seasons with a variety of packs, including bloodhounds, drag, and trail hunting. Exceptionally polite in the field—stands at the meet, queues sensibly at a fence, and is happy to lead or follow.

Absolutely safe with hounds and does not kick.

Brave and capable across all country—hedges, ditches, timber, rails. She loves her job and gives a confident ride. Well-suited to someone wanting a reliable hunter with no drama.

Has also been out competing in local hunter trials, consistently placed, and enjoys cross-country. Schooled around clear round courses up to 80cm at Felbridge and Coombelands. She jumps fillers, trays, and water without hesitation.

Basic flatwork established—rideable and willing, though not heavily schooled due to her hunting focus.

Excellent to hack alone or in company, including in heavy traffic and open spaces. Very easy to do in all ways—clip, shoe, box, catch, etc. No vices.

Minor cosmetic cracks in her front feet (summer ’24) which are growing out well and managed with regular shoeing—she remains completely sound.

A genuine, kind mare looking for a hunting or all-round home. Serious enquiries only.
Honest Ad – No Nonsense, Just the Truth

Just about fed up, to be honest.

Good, honest Irish mare looking for her next person. She’s been a loyal hunter hireling for the last two seasons – never a sick day, never taken a lame step during that time.

We generally only keep our hirelings for two seasons and then do our best to find them a one-on-one, forever type of home – someone she can be someone’s everything.

Now, to be fully upfront: She has cracks in her front feet. My mistake – she was turned out last summer without shoes and the ground was like concrete. Because of that, she may show slightly off (2/10ths) on a vetting on hard ground. That said, she’s 90% better now than she was last August and the cracks are steadily growing out.

I could lie about the 2/10ths unsoundness on the hard, drop her price, and try to shift her without a vetting. But why should I? She does the job for me just fine – and has done so consistently. She does what she’s supposed to do, and she will for you too. That’s what really matters.

She hunts. She hacks. She’s a genuine all-rounder with manners and heart.

It baffles me how many people chase a ‘clean vetting’ as if that guarantees a perfect horse, instead of asking the real question: can this horse do the job I want? This mare does the job – she’s done ours, and I’ll stand by her.

Genuine interest only, please. She deserves that much.

She’s an absolute school mistress.

OPEN TO OFFERS OVER 6 k

She passes the riding school inspection every year suitable for hunting ect

I’m just so baffled by this.

Maggie is true amateurs horse. straightforward, quick against the clock and genuine in every way.

Maggie has low mileage for her age starting her BS career as a 9 year old, ridden by the same amateur girl since the girl was 15 taking her from 85cm to 1.20. Maggie will happily take a miss and do her very best to get you out of trouble.

She is nicely forward off the leg, always in a snaffle without a need flash or martingale. She’s very level and easy to ride, but still enthusiastic enough to put the gas on around a jump off.

She’s very well schooled on the flat, the kind of horse you could take in the arena every day and wouldn’t go sour. She loves her job and enjoys being challenged. She would absolutely thrive in a dressage/showjumping home where she can flick her toes and show off.

Being with a teenager she’s had all sorts of questions given to her, she’s been ridden without a bridle, has been cross country schooling & on fun rides. She also adapts to look after a younger rider (just the other weekend she looked after 3 young kids at their first clear round!)

With that said, she’s a competition mare and needs a sympathetic, quiet rider to get the best out of her. She is highly alert and receptive to her rider, but sometimes she gets overwhelmed at shows. she needs a rider who won’t take this personally and will stay consistent. There is no malice in her whatsoever.

She does crib bite and wind suck, this is not something that bothers us and we are looking for the same in her new home.
We inject her hocks as needed, she’s just been injected with arthramid and is ready for the seasons ahead.
Both of these reflect in her price, she’s a truly competitive horse for someone on a budget.

She is only for sale due to being outgrown.

She is based in England. This is a truly heartbreaking, private sale - Maggie will only go to a 10* home & we will encourage multiple viewings.

Maggie is a super stamp of a 15hh Irish cob, 8yo grey mare.

Came over from Ireland as a just backed 6yo, she had previously had a foal. Since being over here she has improved her schooling, attended some unaffiliated dressage competitions, always gaining placings.

Maggie has also been in hand showing at some bigger shows such as Tendering, as well as doing plenty of hacking, being very good in traffic, both alone and in company.

She is very willing and has popped small logs out hacking and will also happily trot over a small fence in the school. Kind mare looking for a new loving home where she will give somebody else endless fun. Very sad sale due to owner giving up.

Maggie is very easy to do, good to shoe, catch, clip, load/travel etc. No vices. She does make a noise in her wind, this does not affect her for hacking and low level competitions but is reflected in her price.

She has outstanding trainability and ride ability. Lovely uphill conformation. Working nicely in the arena, now learning leg yield and shoulder in.

Light in the hand with a lovely soft mouth. She has impressive breeding from outstanding competition lines. Good to hack both on the roads and cantering up bridleways. Also done polework and popped over some small jumps, makes a super shape over a fence.

Vera was backed the beginning of 2024 and has been slowly and carefully produced with her future in mind. She was very easy to back and has been a delight to bring on. A lovely, sweet temperament with a great personality. Has been to arena hires/ clinics.

Out competing and winning up to Novice level with scores up to 72%! Stands quietly on the lorry whilst waiting for results. So much potential, easy to handle both in and out of the stable. No vices. Good to catch, shoe, clip etc.

Unfortunately his owner fell off a mounting block and gave him a fright. Therefore, we have been working to get him relaxed.

We mount him from a leg up no problem. He is mounting from a moveable block. Not yet a solid one. This will still need working on.

He will shortly commence British showjumping with us.

He has been as good as gold under saddle but will not be sold to novices or children. He is a big substantial horse.

Otis is a quality young gelding with an exceptional temperament and a great attitude to work. Recently backed and riding away quietly, he’s proving straightforward and takes everything in his stride.

He works in three balanced paces, moves well with an attractive stamp, and is already confidently jumping a small course of fences. Otis has been on arena hire and cross-country schooled, showing a willing attitude and enjoying his work.

He’s shaping up to make a super working hunter or a versatile allrounder. Given time to mature over winter, he’s been brought back into work this spring with a quiet, sympathetic approach.

Otis hacks out sensibly, has seen traffic, and is good in open spaces. Always ridden in a snaffle and proving easy to do in all ways.

While still green due to his age, he’s very well behaved and a pleasure to have around. Great potential to be produced further and have some fun while doing it!.
