13.2hh 4 Year Old Skewbald Cob Mare, Super Future Allrounder and/or Family Pony

Ref #: 385598
  • 13.2hh 4 year old skewbald cob mare - green but safe and sensible, and loves hacking.

  • 13.2hh 4 year old skewbald cob mare - green but safe and sensible, and loves hacking.
  • Forward going and very willing, with potential to produce into a super allrounder.
  • Easy to handle, no vices, up to date with vaccinations, dentist, farrier & worming.

Lily is a beautiful 13.2hh, 4 year old skewbald cob mare who is proving to be a real little star. She is broken and riding away quietly, happily hacking both alone and in company, whether she’s leading the way or following behind. Hacking is her favourite job and she loves being out and about. She has seen plenty of traffic and takes everything in her stride. She’s not spooky or silly and has a naturally sensible, willing nature.

In the school Lily is still very green due to her age, but my focus has been on giving her valuable life experience and confidence out in the world, which she has taken to brilliantly. She hasn’t done much jumping yet, but she will happily pop over a small log or fence and shows plenty of potential to do more with time. Lily is forward going but not sharp or nasty, she has never bucked, reared or anything of the sort. She is a chunky cob who takes up the riders leg well - rider in the photos is 5’7.

Lily is a straightforward, easy pony to have on the yard. She has no lumps, bumps or vices, is happy living in or out, and currently goes out in a mixed herd by day and comes in at night. She is good to catch, groom, bath, tie up, and load, and is well mannered in every way. She is barefoot and up to date with the farrier, dentist, worming and vaccinations.

She has had a couple of sarcoids successfully removed by lazer with her previous owner and they have not returned. I will also add she does mildly itch during the summer months which is kept under control simply by using creams - she has a lovely full mane and tail and you would never know.

This lovely young mare is ready to go on and have fun with her next rider, whether that’s hacking, schooling, jumping or just being a great little best friend to enjoy and produce further.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

14.3hh 9yrs old WPB Black gelding. Charlie is a very smart horse, he has 3 balanced flashy paces and works into a contact. Competed at pony club, dressage, XC and SJ events.

Charlie has a lovely jump happily popping course of 80 with scope for higher. Has done unaffiliated dressage with ability to progress.Hacks alone and in company. Good to clip/ shoe/ box/ catch.

Charlie has been our much-loved happy hacker and leisure horse. He’s mostly been used at pony club, hacking and schooling by our teenage daughter, but unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances our daughter is no longer able to give him what he needs.

He’s a fun, forward-going ride with that classic Welsh spark. He’s never nasty, but he does have that cheeky, intelligent Welsh nature, so he’s best suited to a confident and experienced rider who can enjoy and channel his personality.

In the right hands, he’ll make someone an absolutely brilliant partner and go a long way – whether it’s for hacking, fun rides, or even bringing on further if you want to do more.

5* home only where he’ll be loved as much as he is here.

Up to date with dentist and vaccinations.

Feel free to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a viewing/ride.

FINN

Gorgeous little black sports cob who has the most incredible temperament ever! 4 going on 14!

Super pretty with 4 white socks. 3 lovely paces, very well balanced for his age. Snaffle mouthed for everything and the most safe, fun & easy young horse ever.

Has been out on multiple fun rides with a nervous adult rider and he was golden and totally looked after her. Happy to go in front of behind. Happy to go and pop fences on his own or lead or follow without ever getting strong or silly, even if another horse does.

Snaffle mouthed all the time. Politely responsive to the leg but not at all sharp or lazy. Exactly where you want him to make him an easy ride.

Jumps anything and everything you put in front of him. Popping round small courses and has also been xc schooling and has plenty of jump to develop while also being exceptionally easy.

Been ridden regularly by a child at my yard too who even hacks him out on his own sometimes.

Amazing to hack. Never spooky at anything including farm traffic and a spooky village. Great on and off road. Good in a group, pair or solo.

The easiest horse to have around. Happy to live in or out and no different if he’s not been ridden in a while. Super friendly and sweet in the stable. Easy to load / travel and deal with in every way.

A super delightful chap in every single way. I swear he’s been here before because he’s 4 going on 14.

Biscuit is being advertised as a field companion or in time could be used in light work only due to recent field injury.

He is a lovely pony and is field sound. He is good with mares or geldings and respects fencing.

Biscuit was broken in earlier this year, he schools well in an outline and isn’t strong at all. He has popped over a small jump and just started hacking.

He can be a little wary of new people and places but soon settles and is very loveable when he gets to know you, he really is the most beautiful pony

Galway Jim is a registered Connie gelding with full recorded breeding NN hoofwall

Firstly Jim is a saint to hack

Goes first or last not strong snaffle mouth and no gadgets , we ride down a 60mph road with no issues , he has been hacked by a girl who is learning to trot and a complete saint not spooky .

To jump him is a schoolmaster knows his job will take a miss , gets the best of jump off turns ,

I think he would be fabulous taking a child from small tracks to 70 cm up yo 1m ( we have jumped him 1.10 he’s never said no to nothing .

He loads perfect

We have owned Fred for 4 years and he is only for sale due to being outgrown by my 14 yo daughter, who has now moved up to horses. We have had him since he was 3 and green as a cucumber. Full history known; never sick, nor sorry and now a very well rounded, brave, honest and loyal pony.

Fred is an amazing pony, full of character as you would expect from a Welshy Cob cross - he follows my daughter around like a large ginger labrador. I would say he is best suited to an experienced novice or even a petite adult (my daughter is 5' 6"and still comfortably rides him). He is a real chunk of a pony, so takes the leg well. He would make a perfect lead rein pony, but would be totally wasted, but ideal for younger siblings to learn on though.

Fred has done pretty much everything with us, jumping, cross country, hacking, canter tracks, basic dressage tests, clinics, equine archery, working equitation, he'll try anything. The only thing we have not done is showing, simply because it not our thing, but everywhere he goes we are told we should show him - he certainly has the looks for it! In the right hands he would do really well in dressage too. He will school all day long and loves it when you change it up a bit with poles or barrels.

His favourite has to be jumping and has competed up to 70cm (plenty of ribbons), he has jumped over a metre in the school with ease. You can literally turn him loose in the school and he will jump all on his own. My daughter even jumps and schools him bare back in just a head collar. He is very brave and honest and always tries his best no matter what you put in front of him. When we took him to our local XC course, on grass for the first time, he jumped everything first time without hesitation- like a pro!

Fully up to date with vaccinations, had farrier every 8 weeks (bare foot), teeth (done yearly) and wormers, physio visits every 8 weeks (very spoilt pony but he deserves it).

Fred is straightforward to ride and has been ridden by children and adults, from 5 to 35, with different riding abilities from novice to advanced. Fred is happy to plod around the school or on hacks, but he will step it up for the more advanced rider - he loves his job.

He loves a fuss and is good to shoe / groom/ bath / tack up - he can fidget a bit but just needs to be told. He has only ever been clipped once; he was good as gold - just stick a Lickit in front of his nose and he will do anything for you.

Currently turned out during the day with a mixed herd and stabled at night. He has previously been in both single and paired turn out and was perfectly happy. Easy to catch from the field. He has impeccable stable manners and is very clean (so easy to muck out!). He can be a bossy little git in the field, until he learns his place (but he is part Welshy after all).

Like new Kent & Masters (PC long leg version - 2yo) saddle, bridle and rugs AVAILABLE BY SEPARATE NEGOTIATION.

Fred will ONLY go to a true 5* experienced home where he will stay for life either as a family pony to be passed down or an adult rider. I will not sell him to just ibe passed on again and again every couple of years - sorry. It goes without saying we would like to stay in touch.

Please no time wasters, definitely no dealers and only get in touch if he is within your budget and you can give him a loving, experienced, lifelong home - home is by far most important. Potential homes will be vetted.

Please feel free to Whats App me to ask any questions or for more pics/videos (we have thousands!!!).

Through no fault of her own, my lovely 14 yr old, 14.3hh Welsh Section D mare (unregistered) is looking for a new home.

I am keen to find her a forever home where she can continue her education and give someone a lot of fun. Wispa has been working using Parelli and TRT natural horsemanship methods and I would be delighted with a home where this can be continued. Home more important than price.

Wispa is good to hack alone or in company although she is sensitive about her personal space. She is still quite green for her age so needs someone willing and capable to help build her confidence. She has beautiful manners on the ground and is good to shoe, clip, catch and load. She has sweet itch which is manageable with rugs.

Schooling is progressing from nothing when I got her 3 years ago. She is still learning how to balance in canter and beginning to establish lateral work.

She is safe and sensible and will not try to unseat her rider but due to her lack of confidence needs a competent and balanced rider. She is definitely not suitable for a novice or child.

I have taken her on fun rides and also a riding holiday which she really enjoyed.

No tack included except professionally fitted bit. Fly rug included.
