Purebred British Bred irish draught Mare
4 yr old

16hh may grow abit more - 9.5” bone
Sire : Aye Aye Skipper
Dam : Ashill Silver Lady (Fast Silver)

Dorothy has been brought in to start her education after been left to mature and develop, hasn’t been rushed and overworked for her age like a lot of the pure breds on the current market
A really lovely stamp of an Irish Draught and a fantastic shape, the ‘square’ type hard to find, would make fantastic county cob and will happily Hogg her here
Lovely kind temperament, very easy to catch, farrier, load, etc
Trying her now for interest before I start to back her, price will change with her education

Viewing and vetting welcome

Smokey

Lovely smart cob that has lots of Hunting and SJ experience in Ireland.

Great family or RS type as she is up to weight but is active and light to ride.

Smokey is a very good jumper and she has done lots of training shows in Ireland and happy to showjump or to do a day XC - she is bold and brave and will go in and out of water, logs, rails, ditches etc.

Great to hack out and will go alone or in a group, and she is not fazed by the heaviest of traffic.

Smokey loves attention and is happy to stand and be groomed and pampered!

A really super old fashioned type and she has a great personality - always happy to do her best to please!

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Approx 15.3hh, bay roan, Connemara x Irish Draught gelding with full green passport.

Wolfie was lightly started last year and has been back in work since April 25, taking everything in his stride. Has always been confident to hack alone and in company and had no issues with any traffic met including tractors, cyclists, school buses and milk lorries.

Stands politely at the mounting block and is good with gates.

He has recently started jumping, proving to be very bold over fillers, planks and water trays. He has been cross country schooling and again was unfazed, happily popping hedges, barrels, steps, ditches, water etc without a lead.

A pet at home being super chilled and loves a groom and fuss. Gets on with field mates and can be stabled or out 24/7.

Fully vaccinated, loads, travels and stands happily when he’s out and about and has been polite to handle in all situations. Wolfie is barefoot but excellent with the farrier.

Very smart and always willing but due to young age will need a knowledgeable and experienced home as he is still learning.

Sad sale as owner will be undergoing two planned surgeries over the next few months and needs to recuperate.

Regularly seen by physio and has had wolf tooth removed and regular dental checks. Passed vetting on purchase and is open to any vetting.

  • So much potential for showing, dressage or to just be the coolest leisure horse around!

Very sad to announce that Basil must find a new owner, through no fault of his own.

We adore him and would absolutely love to see him give someone as much fun as he has given us, a good long term home is our priority.

Basil does not insist on being sporty, he’d love a hacking in company life really, and wow is he comfy!

8 year old, apx 19.1+ brown dappled shire gelding.

Before you get too excited, he is over a tonne of ADHD, and in fear of invisible things on a daily basis - so can be a handful to manage and needs consistent attention to contain the beast whilst getting him into a routine, he’s not dangerous he just lives on high alert when not in his bedroom or under saddle, but in reality he’s a wimp and actually just wants you to hold his hand while whatever scares him passes or you pass it.

That being said, he has matured enormously since coming to me last year and rides through most of his issues easily. He’s at his spookiest at home, rarely does he look at anything while out/shows etc

He has been to several shows including his first stay away this year at The National Shire Show. He had great results including being pulled 6th in his first HOYS qualifier in a very big and strong class to finish 9th. He has always behaved impeccably at shows and tends to need minimal working in

He will do pretty much anything you’d like, if you are capable of doing it too, he’s a team player not a leader. He genuinely is a rarity though with so much potential for showing, dressage or to just be the coolest leisure horse around!

You will be eternally entertained and in love, guaranteed.

14.3hh 9yrs old WPB Black gelding. Charlie is a very smart horse, he has 3 balanced flashy paces and works into a contact. Competed at pony club, dressage, XC and SJ events.

Charlie has a lovely jump happily popping course of 80 with scope for higher. Has done unaffiliated dressage with ability to progress.Hacks alone and in company. Good to clip/ shoe/ box/ catch.

Charlie has been our much-loved happy hacker and leisure horse. He’s mostly been used at pony club, hacking and schooling by our teenage daughter, but unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances our daughter is no longer able to give him what he needs.

He’s a fun, forward-going ride with that classic Welsh spark. He’s never nasty, but he does have that cheeky, intelligent Welsh nature, so he’s best suited to a confident and experienced rider who can enjoy and channel his personality.

In the right hands, he’ll make someone an absolutely brilliant partner and go a long way – whether it’s for hacking, fun rides, or even bringing on further if you want to do more.

5* home only where he’ll be loved as much as he is here.

Up to date with dentist and vaccinations.

Feel free to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a viewing/ride.

Stunning 16hh 10-year-old Cob gelding looking for his next experienced partner. Big, solid type with plenty of presence and a kind nature.

Perfect for vet / farrier / clipping / dentist / loading and travelling

Lives out most of the year. Good doer.

No vices.

Super to work around and loves a fuss.

Excellent to hack out alone or in company. Well used to farm machinery. Great on pleasure rides / in the forest. Has been to a few local shows and has been a gentleman.

Enjoys jumping, did some cross country schooling last summer.

He has been out of work since September as I was pregnant, so is currently offered from the field. Previously used as a fun, reliable all rounder.

Generally a laid back big chap but has thrown the occasional excitable buck (rare when he is in regular work).

Would thrive with a confident, competent rider to bring him back into work.

Has never bolted or reared.
Does have sweet itch which is managed with rugs and fly control. Otherwise in excellent health.

Has been barefoot for last 2 years. Up to date with teeth, vaccinations & worming.

Serious enquiries only, no time wasters as this is a very difficult sale. Will only go to 5* home. Happy to discuss further & videos available - WhatsApp 07723 235103.

Harry – 16.2hh Irish Draught Gelding by Fintan Himself, 6 Years Old

Imported from Ireland as a two-year-old and carefully produced by ourselves. Harry has been used as a hireling for the past two seasons, ridden by a wide variety of clients. He is a true old-fashioned Irish type – plenty of bone, a leg in each corner, and the temperament to match.

A real armchair ride with a lovely soft mouth. Never pulls. He will jump absolutely anything you point him at – timber, wire, hedges, ditches – nothing phases him. While well-established on the flat, he has primarily been used for hunting.

Harry is never silly or sharp. He is not strong and does not buck, bolt, rear or nap. A real gentleman in every way – he’s good to do in and out of the stable, hacks alone or in company, and is completely unfazed by traffic.

A mannerly, straightforward horse with a lovely temperament – truly one for the whole family.

**Does have a curb to his off hind. Had since a two year old. Hunted three seasons on it. Does not affect him in anyway and is purely cosmetic. Fully formed. Some vets do not like them. Needing the person viewing to have some common sense about this. Not needing a 5 stage vetting & wanting to insure for a million quid. He is a very good hunter.

For a younger horse he is very good in all the traffic he has seen hacks alone or in Company.

Has hunted in Ireland. Does have two cosmetic splints that will go down in time completely sound.barefoot

Fit and ready to go. Very sweet nature that wants to please. Jumps ! Jumps cross country fences is straightforward and enjoys it. Not strong very good mover.

Good to load wormed not clipped as we left this to the buyer to decide to hog or not. No bad habits or nasty vices has been taught to stand at the mountain block to wait.

Further education needed to be a schoolmaster but he has the right brain to do anything and be a very genuine sweet horse for someone.

Not suitable for a complete novice as he isnt a plod. He’s nicely steady away super easy to ride North west

Hello , I am currently searching for my dressage partner, that can help me move up the levels although I am willing to put the work in also for this.

Ideally looking for a saint, as I am nervous with riding horses I don't know. I am currently working towards Novice with my 14.3 cob.

Must be absolutely safe, sane, no vices especially bucking or bolting, not sharp or spooky (tall order I know) I really don't want a horse that is very unbalanced and young as I am not confident enough, but I offer a lovely home for the right horse, with great facility's too.

Please do get in touch if you feel you may have a horse suitable, thank you so much.

4yo 15.2 Cob Gelding

A beautifully marked piebald cob gelding with looks, brains, and a brilliant attitude.

Forward-thinking and responsive, Garry is not your typical cob - he's eager to please, enjoys his work, and has a lovely go about him without being sharp or silly. But equally is happy to poodle with a novice rider!

He's a genuine, uncomplicated ride who has been cross country, beach rides and takes absolutely everything in his stride.

A super safe cob, safe enough for a sensible novice ride or happy to step up jump a course of fences no problems.

Hacks alone or in company and is super sensible out in open spaces. He's perfect in the heaviest of traffic including buses, tractors, lorry's etc. good with hounds & happy to go infront or behind.

Great to shoe, clip, vets, load etc.

A proper model stamp of a cob, Garry has all the presence to stand out in the show ring, plus the brain and versatility to excel in any job - from pleasure riding to riding club level. He also has a cracking bold jump on him and never says no!

George is a beautifully put-together 4-year-old chestnut fully registered Irish Draught gelding, standing at 16hh. This young horse is a real head-turner with his classic good looks, solid bone, and straight, correct movement.

He has been professionally started and is riding sweetly on the flat with a willing attitude and soft mouth. Shows three balanced, rhythmical paces and is beginning to work into a consistent contact. Lightly introduced to poles and has popped fences with ease – showing promise for a future in any sphere.

Good to handle, load, catch, and for the farrier. He’s been hacked alone and in company, proving sensible and level-headed in new environments. Has been cross country schooling and equally as sensible. He’s proving to be bold enough to make a fantastic future eventer or hunter.

This is a quality young horse with a great brain and temperament – ready to further his education with a competent rider. Would excel in the show ring, eventing, hunting, or as a smart all-rounder.
However he is a young horse so not most suited to a novice or unbalanced rider.

Clean legs
Good to load, shoe, clip & with the vet
Has had a sarcoid removal not in any way & totally hidden.
