BONDED PAIR - PROJECT PONIES!

Shuri and Romi are a bonded pair and are seeking a home together. They would make an ideal addition to a family looking for two children's ponies to enjoy in the future, giving them the opportunity to grow up together.

Shuri has been in a loving home where she has continued to mature into a lovely young pony with plenty of personality. She has a cheeky and inquisitive character, always keeping her handlers entertained, and has come on brilliantly with her handling and confidence as she has grown up.

Shuri originally came into our care alongside a small herd after her owner could no longer care for them due to personal circumstances. She arrived at foot with her mother and has since developed into a bright, playful youngster who enjoys interacting with both people and her pony friends.

She is learning all the basics expected of a young pony and is becoming more confident with everyday handling. Shuri can still be unsure in new situations at times, so she will need calm, positive guidance to continue her education, but she is a willing little pony who enjoys attention and is improving all the time.

We feel Shuri has the potential to make a wonderful child’s riding pony in the future, ideally maturing into a lovely lead rein or first ridden type.

Shuri is happy living out 24/7 or part stabled with company. As she is closely bonded with Romi, they must be rehomed together to a knowledgeable home that can continue their education and give them the bright future they deserve.

Beautiful 7YO CONNEMARA MARE – APPROX. 14.2HH

Very sad sale or loan of our lovely May May Dure to lack of space! 7 year-old Connemara mare standing approximately 14.2hh.

May May is a really sweet, kind mare who is looking for a knowledgeable, patient home where she can be given the time and confidence to flourish. She can initially be shy and nervous with new people and situations, but she is never nasty – she has never kicked or bitten and responds really well to a quiet, natural approach.

She is unbacked, so is being sold as a project rather than a ridden pony. She has previously bred a foal and was an absolutely fantastic mum, so could also potentially suit someone looking for a broodmare or companion.

She has a full green Connemara passport and loads into a trailer.

May May does have a history of uveitis, although she has had no recent flare-ups with us. She also makes a noise with her breathing/wind, which we have not investigated as she has not been in ridden work. Both will be fully disclosed and discussed with anyone genuinely interested.

This is a very genuine mare who deserves the right person. She is not suitable for someone wanting something ready-made, but for a kind and experienced home willing to take their time with her, she has lots to offer.

A knowledgeable, long-term home is much more important to us than a quick sale.

Based in West Dorset, near Bridport.

Please PM for further information, photos/videos and price would also happily loan to the right home

BONDED PAIR - PROJECT PONIES!

Romi and Shuri are a bonded pair and are seeking a home together. They would make an ideal addition to a family looking for two children's ponies for the future, allowing them to grow up, learn and progress together.

Romi has been in a loving loan home for the last two years, where she has matured into a beautiful rising 3-year-old. During this time, she has come on leaps and bounds with her handling and confidence and is now ready to take the next step towards her future career as a child's riding pony.

Romi originally came into our care alongside a small herd after her owner could no longer look after them due to personal circumstances. She arrived at foot with her mother and has since grown into a lovely young pony with a kind and inquisitive nature.

She has benefited hugely from consistent, positive handling in her current home and is now much more confident with everyday tasks. Romi can still be a little timid in new situations, so she will need patient and understanding handlers to continue building her confidence, but she is always trying her best and improving all the time.

We feel Romi has all the makings of a wonderful little riding pony in the future, ideally as a lead rein or first ridden type once mature and further educated.

Romi is being rehomed directly from her current loan home into her next loving home. She is happy living out 24/7 or part stabled with company. As she is closely bonded with Shuri, they must be rehomed together to a knowledgeable home that can continue their education and help them reach their full potential as future children's ponies.

  • 13hh - 15 2hh
  • RDA centre needing LWVTB/Loan
  • Temperament is more important than breed

We are looking for any breed for LWVTB as they will need to be trialled in our RDA environment before purchasing to see if they're suited to this lifestyle before a participant can ride them. This is as much for the ponies as the suitability for riders.

Must already be ridden and has to be over 5 yrs old (RDA rules). Can accept some quirks but must be safe for our disabled riders. They will also have to pass a stage 2 vetting which can be arranged whilst on loan.

We can offer a high standard of care, a light work load so older ages are acceptable if sound.

We have stables but they live out as much as possible even throughout winter. We can offer small herd/individual turnout.

If you would like to check out our RDA centre we are online and Facebook as Elisabeth Curtis Centre.

Allrounder for Part or Full loan!

  • Honey would be ideal for a confident child
  • Great to hack in company
  • Connemara Part Bred
  • Dun
  • Mare
  • 14 years
  • 14hh / 143cm
  • Honey would be ideal for a confident child
  • Great to hack in company

Honey is a 14hh Connemara X New Forest mare who is my first pony that I've had for the last 6 years.

We have had lots of fun doing all sorts of things over the years : pony club, unaff showjumping, unaff dressage, arena eventing, cross country, combined training, hunting, fun rides, hacking and lots more.

~ Honey is most comfortable jumping up to 80 and we have done single fences up to 95. She would happily step down to a 50cm or equally step up to an 80cm. She can sometimes be spooky with fillers but with confidence from her rider she flies round.

~ Honey would be ideal for a confident child who wants to have fun without competitive pressure. Honey loves pony club activities and frequently shows off her backend over jumps!

~ I have only hunted her once as I'm not brave enough for it, but she was well behaved. In her previous homes I have heard she was a cracking hunting pony so feel this is something she would excel at.

~ Honey also has great flatwork and carries herself nicely, doing a lovely test, which could also make her a great pony for working hunter.

~ Great to hack in company, unfazed by all types of traffic. She can be more hesitant to hack by herself, which is something we have worked on and improved at, however she simply prefers having a friend with her.

~ Good to catch, load, shoe etc.

~ This is a really difficult decision for me and one that I have put off for the last 2 years, but with me being taller (now 5"9) with long legs, I've simply outgrown her. In addition, she hasn't done as much over the last year due to us moving the horses home without a menáge, meaning she is therefore looking rather round! Honey is the type of pony that you can ride 5 days a week or once a week and she will always come out the same, so I have no doubt that she'll easily get fitter again in no time, the more she is ridden.

~ I am offering her up for loan/lease. I would be happy for her to be part loaned to stay where she is currently in Shropshire or have her move somewhere locally on full loan/lease.

I know this pony inside and out and am therefore in no rush so please only serious enquiries!!
