Molly is the ultimate sweet and calm customer, but she is no slouch when it comes to competing. She spent her early years at Hickstead and loves her show jumping. Clyde – 14hh 5yo TGCA Blue Blagdon Cob Gelding

Really, really sad sale of a much-loved member of the family.

Clyde is a gorgeous 14hh, 5-year-old blue blagdon cob gelding with striking markings. He is TGCA registered and, with his looks and presence, I think he could do very well in the show ring.

Clyde is the definition of a turbo cob! He’s certainly no plod and absolutely loves getting out and doing things. He’s still green due to his age, but he’s coming on really nicely in the school and is keen to learn.

He hacks alone and in company and is fantastic in traffic, including with larger vehicles. He’s sensible in open spaces and around livestock, and will happily pop a small cross pole - although I’m not convinced show jumping is going to be his calling in life!

Clyde is the sort of cob who really benefits from having a job and being kept busy. He would suit someone who wants a fun, forward-going horse to get out and enjoy, continue his education and potentially do a bit of showing with. Although he has happily been ridden by children on the lead-rein, he is not suitable for a novice and I’d really like him to go to an experienced, confident home where he'll be kept busy.

On the ground, Clyde is incredibly sweet and cuddly in the stable, loves attention and is forever making people laugh with his antics. He can be strong on the ground if he thinks he can get away with it, so again needs someone confident.

This is an incredibly difficult sale and finding the right home is far more important to me than finding the quickest one. He is very much loved and will only go to a home where I feel he will be happy, understood and enjoyed.

Lovely child’s second pony: Lily. A gorgeous pony who is kind and sweet. We sourced her through a contact just over a year ago for a little girl on our yard as a second pony and she’s been a dream.

Previously she was in a riding school and has since been with a little girl based at my yard and done a range of activities like lessons, clinics, XC lessons, arena eventing, unaff show jumping, farm rides & dressage as well as regular schooling and hacking.

She’s more woah than go, snaffle mouthed and not silly / sharp ever. Sometimes she can have a little buck when she is being a bit lazy but nothing more than that. She’s been great fun & confidence boosting for her owner who is a very small 12yo girl. She’s genuine to jump off any stride, has been schooling round approx 70-75cm and competing around 60ish successfully.

Fabulous to hack on / off road. Happy to canter in front of behind.

Good to handle, a bit of a face puller in the stable to some adults but very easy

Very sad sale due to jockey needing surgery on both knees due to a long term issue (nothing to do with horses) so will be off riding for a year.

I had a friend of a friends little girl come a couple of times to ride her in the school and she behaved impeccably.
She lunges beautifully, we haven’t hacked her here but she did I believe in her previous home

No medical issues whilst with us and she is currently unshod with good solid feet
So unfortunately I have come to terms with the fact it’s a little early for my little girl at this stage and I’m going to wait another couple of years and I believe she is too nice a pony to sit in the field waiting for us

Gwiddy is hopelessly out grown. He has been with us for the past 3 years and has taught my very nervous daughter to ride and love ponies.

He has been an active member of pony club, starting out in lead rein classes. He has attended many camps, including over night ones, rallies and shows. He currently has regular lesson with our instructor.

He happily hacks out and has never batted an eye at cars or farm machinery.

He is incredibly easy going and would do anything for a treat. Handled by children. My girls do everything with him.

He can be more woah than go but will listen to his rider. My daughter has just taken him to a gallop rally and they both loved it.

He currently lives out in a herd and is happy with mares and geldings but also quite content on his own. He does also like the luxury of being in a stable when he has been at camp.

Bandit is a fun, friendly hairy cob who loves hacking, alone or in company, and is good in all traffic and unfazed by all the sights and sounds of the new forest. He has also been used for lessons, he enjoys low level jumping and schooling and follows you around like a friendly labrador!

Bandit has had 6 months off due to a collateral ligament injury to his hock in May 2025. He has been correctly and successfully rehabilitated under veterinary guidance and brought back into work slowly and has now been back to full work for 3 months. He is happiest when he has something to do and particularly loves hacking.

He has been on loan as a share between my friend and her 12 year old daughter for the last 2 years but lack of time forces sale, previously he was our daughter’s pony joining us for picnics, pub trips and has been professionally schooled.

Most suitable for a confident child, a teenager or a small adult. He is good for the farrier, vet, travel etc. Currently bare foot but was shod behind during his rehab.

Lives out, though happy to be stabled if needed at times. Currently has been living happily with another mare and previously geldings with no issues other than he is quite greedy! He has been seen to mount an in-season mare who was particularly encouraging, he is confirmed not to be a rig and displays only gelding behaviour at all other times but for this reason we would recommend a gelding field companion would suit him best.

He always produces a beautiful test with lots of qualifying scores and has qualified for BD Area Festivals, the BD Quest series, PC Regional champs and NSEA National champs. Currently competing at Prelim/Novice. Lovely lateral work - he knows it all!

He has previously competed BE and done unaffiliated ODEs in the last year with my teenage daughter with regular placings. He finished 2nd in the 70cm NSEA 3DE championship last season and won NSEA 70cm grassroots SJ qualifying for Hickstead champs. He has also done all PC activities including racing rallies, polocrosse, showing and camp. Won best PC pony at Christmas competition.

Due to his age he is now looking for a quieter life, so wouldn’t be any good if you want to compete regularly. He would ideally suit someone looking for a dressage or a general allrounder. He would suit a competent teenager/small adult. Please no novices.

He is good to shoe, box, clip etc. Good in open spaces. Always ridden in a snaffle. Does not need riding everyday and still the same.
