Eric is a talented and able pony who always catches the eye and loves to perform.

For the last three years he has been a real family pony who enjoys both flat work and jumping and loves going out to pony club and shows. With regular lessons he now produces a lovely dressage test (in the 65 to 75% range) and is very comfortable around 70/75 cm courses. We have not entered bigger classes but he pops over bigger fences in training. He really loves his jumping.

Before we had him Eric competed in NPS M&M and WHP (he won at South of England). We are not a showing family and so have only done the occasional local show where he has always done well despite some rather sub standard shows from his jockeys! He certainly has the scope and attitude for HOYS courses were he to go showing again - he will jump out of a beautifully forward rhythm whilst never touching a pole.

Eric is not strong or fizzy and is fun to ride - we pop complete beginners on him for a gentle ride or hack but he is not a kick along first pony - he would get bored after a while and speed things up! Eric is laid back in his attitude to life but he likes to be kept busy and work.

Eric is great in traffic and loves his hacking, going first or last, easy to box shoe clip etc, always loads and travels well and stands quietly at shows. He is good with the vet and dentist. He is turned out with geldings and mares, doesn’t get really muddy and is clean in his stable.

Eric has a full set of rugs, a Native Pony saddle and bridle and Fylde show saddle which could go with him.

We have moved up a size in ponies and would love to find Eric a competitive family home where he can be loved and excel.

Very sad sale of this fabulous, kind pony, Salty has a lovely temperament and is a very safe, sensible five year old, having grown up around and been broken in on busy working farms, he is not phased by any large machinery and has been hacked out on busy country roads during the tourist season without ‘batting a eye’

Would make a fantastic first ridden or worker as he responds to voice commands even with small riders and jumps comfortably up to 2ft6. He has a beautiful bascule over fences and jumps water trays, fillers, and gates and also goes through splashes. All done with ease and would easily jump HOYS and RIHS tracks, with the right jockey
