A large, handsome, sweet, snaffle mouthed chestnut gelding is offered for sale. He has done a mixture of activities over the last 2 years including showjumping, camps, dressage, hacking and riding club. Marlowe is a sweet guy, he is low mileage but has plenty of scope to jump 1.20m though his record is shy of this. If someone put some more time into him they would be rewarded with him jumping this height easily maybe a bit bigger. He could also turn his hand to dressage with some more training. His trot has some natural spring which could be cultivated further.

He is for sale on bealf of his owner where their partnership didnt quite gel. Whilst he has been with us he has been worked on the flat, has been hacking and been to a BS show on a ticket where he jumped double clear. He is fit and ready to go and do some nice things with his next rider.

He is easy to do. He is good to shoe, clip, he goes on and off the walker and goes in the field alone or next to another horse. He is easy to get on, loads on a trailer or 3.5T or 26T truck. He is snaffle mouthed.

His pre purchase examination was passed including X-rays (around 18 months-2 years ago) and we have no doubt this will be repeated on re-examination.

He will suit someone wanting to continue his education in showjumping or dressage or somone wanting a large horse to do riding club activities

Daz is a lovely horse who has fallen out of love with racing. He is clean legged.

He has retired 100% sound and has never had any issues.

He has taken to retraining very well and has big flashy movement and a big scopey careful jump. Jumps Showjumps really well.

Apart from competing, I will also want to do the “mum bit” eg riding out with my Daugther etc so horse must be polite and / or forgiving if I get it wrong! In return, I am a caring owner who would offer a lovely family home.

I’m 5’5 so I don’t need anything big.

I want to be able to go out on my own for regular training / clinics etc - manners on the ground, travelling etc, as well under saddle are key.

 Lovely 10yo TB Gelding – “Dez”. A genuine, easy-going lad looking for his new home.

Dez is a 10-year-old Thoroughbred who I’ve owned since he was a 2-year-old, so his full history is known. He has a wonderful, kind temperament and is incredibly easy to have around. He lives out all year round and is happy in a mixed herd with both mares and geldings. Great with the vet and farrier, with the dentist he just needs a bit of patience but is manageable. He has been barefooted for the past 6 years with no issue, use boots if covering roadwork.

He was backed and brought on quietly on the fells in the Lake District and has been used mainly for pleasure riding. The intention was always to do more with him, but with two young children I simply haven’t had the time. Dez hacks alone and in company, and he’s used to being led and led off. He can occasionally need a bit of reassurance, but he is never nasty or difficult.

Dez has been around children his whole life and has happily had mine on board. On the ground he’s like having a Labrador, he’ll follow you around and loves fuss and attention.

He would suit someone wanting a sweet, willing horse to enjoy hacking, pleasure rides, or bring on further if desired. A loving, knowledgeable home is important.

We have produced slowly and carefully, was originally to be a pair driving horse but sadly both him and his brother grew too big for our carriages.

Extensive ground work has been done, he is bold, brave, seen and been exposed to possibly more than most horses his age, with serious attention to his welfare whilst growing so big, beach, forest, hills in company and on his own.

Delight to own, he has been ridden by many levels of ability rider , professional to beginners,  side saddle and has done jousting practice, working equitation style hazards and more creative, he has not served, excellent in all ways, kind

He is kept in a yard with others and is turned out ( albeit on his own , is no problem )

We have kept fences to a small height in consideration of his size, but have given him weird and spooky , he just takes you.
