Very very sad advertisement of my lovely Spotty. 16.1hh Irish draught x sport horse- by Fast Silver renound for offspring with trainability and temperament.
Spotty is a much loved member of my family, I have owned him since a 3yo and he has been nothing but a pleasure.
Spotty is a lovely boy, he is a lovely horse to ride, he is intelligent and trainable with a lovely mouth on the flat. He is well established for his age, with understanding of basic lateral work, and produces a lovely dressage test. He moves well, and straight with correct and comfy paces.
Lovely to hack, in company or alone, not a spooky horse atall. Always impeccable in open fields and busy villages. He has seen all types of farm machinery, motorbikes and cyclists. He would never have a thought in his head to nap. Absolutely never bucks/tears or ever has a bad thought in his head. He can be keen enough cantering in company or if he is super fit, but I always ride him in a snaffle at home.
Spotty is currently jumping comfortably and clear around 90cms as shows, has jumped a bigger fence at home. He always tries to be as careful as he can to pull a leg out the way off a misser and always wants to keep the sticks up! He is good over trays and fillers.
He is fab with all xc, ditches/water/combinations/skinnies. Always good on grass or on a surface.
Spotty has been eventing UA, he’s competed and placed at many 80’s and has done a handful of 90’s, a large reason for his advertisement is due to lack of time- hence him not competing more 90’s which he probably should have done this season. Has been placed in the top 3 on many occasions.
Spots has been to the beach and on fun rides and is always impeccable.
He is a very fun little horse to hunt. He has hunted with the drag and with the Fernie on many occasions. He hunts in a Waterford gag, he is not unruly but wouldn’t be for somebody very very nervous as he is keen enough! He has jumped hedges, rails, ditches and is always solid at the meet.
He is good to load/travel and will stand on the box happily at shows. He is easy to take eventing alone as I have on many occaisions.
He is good for the farrier, he is good to clip- bar to have his ears and legs off would need some sedalin.
Spotty is good to do in all ways, he is a pleasure and a good laugh to have around as he has bags of character and is a lovely person. No vices other than being of a fanny about his ears, but I would not say he is truly head shy. He has good feet, no sarcoids, lumps, bumps or any itch and no vices.
Very sad sale, a 5* home is a must. Ideally an adult looking to go grassroots eventing or allround activities in a home where he can be someone’s everything as he is to me.
