A very exciting and genuine mare with the rare combination of top-class breeding, scope, rideability and a wonderful temperament.

Tilly is by the legendary Tangelo, out of a Calvados mare who jumped to 1.30m, from a proven dam line producing multiple 1.30m+ jumpers.
She was a late starter due to having a foal.

Now ready to find a new rider to continue her progression up the levels.

Recently won a Newcomers and ready to step up to Foxhunter in the next few shows. Confidently schooling around 1.30/1.35 level at home.
She has scope for 1.30/1.40 classes. Tilly is a fun horse that could be top class silver league horse/ COH horse. She takes a miss, really adjustable, makes the distances, a great competitor for tours abroad. Equally would event or do dressage – she is very versatile. Tilly has cross country schooled exceptionally well, confidently jumping water, steps and ditches first time, taking everything in her stride. On the flat she is established and correct, schooling in a snaffle with balanced paces, flying changes and lateral work.

Give her a few days off and she is just the same, kind and genuine temperament but has enough blood that she has something about her. Not spooky and has never stopped. Hacks confidently in heavy traffic, no vices, excellent to shoe, load and travel. Will stand on the lorry on her own or in company. Has only seen the vet for vaccinations, never been lame, sick or sorry. Lives in or out.

She is a very easy horse to have around and suitable for a competent amateur or rider coming off ponies.

She is a very special mare and a sort that are increasingly difficult to find.

While she is straightforward and kind, she is a blood competition horse, and therefore not suitable for a novice home.

I’m on the lookout for a fun but safe set of hooves, ideally fitting the following criteria:
• 148-158cm
• gelding
• under 15 years (this is non-negotiable)
• must travel on a trailer
• must hack alone and in company without major quirks inc. napping and bucking
• must be a nice person to handle, no kickers
• horses with veterinary history considered with full disclosure, but no rehab projects
• bonus if they already know how to ride and lead (I have small children)
• something that doesn’t need riding every day and wouldn’t mind a break of up to a week between riding when necessary (I’m a nurse and work shifts)
• able to turnout in a mixed herd (1 other gelding and 1 mare, next to another mixed herd of 3)

In return I can offer:

• daily turnout come rain or snow
• reasonably competent riding! I’ve previously competed at BE Novice and done lots of BD but have ridden very little in past 18 months
• I have a soft spot for thoroughbreds, but would prefer them to have some life experience outside of racing
• ideally I’d like to do some BD, some low level jumping clinics (90 ish) and lots of hacking. If I haven’t lost my nerve then maybe some low-level BS and BE
• I’m 5’3” and pretty consistently about 55-56kgs so ponies are welcome
• my horses are looked after to very high standards and want for nothing

Open to ideas re. age and experience - I would consider something younger and ready to step up the levels or something slightly older and more established.
MUST pass a 5-stage vetting and x-rays (I have had 2x horses with kissing spine in the last 18 months, one of which had to be retired).

Must be good to do/polite in all aspects - clip, load (trailer or lorry), shoeing, teeth, catching etc, and no vices. Must also be able to live out in a herd with 3x other geldings and hack alone.

Preferably something forward going but not silly or sharp. Ideally a willing, genuine attitude - absolutely no rearing, napping, wild bucks (an occasional exuberant one is understandable), etc.

5* loving, forever home for the right horse - my horses want for nothing and enjoy doing a bit of everything, including Riding Club, hacking and competing in all disciplines. I am a UKCC L3 coach, PC AH & B+ test holder and have evented at BE100/PC100+, SJ unaffiliated at 1.10m and competed in BD up to elementary. Have spent the last 3 seasons side lined with no transport, kissing spine surgery/treatment and rehab so desperate to get back out, regain my own confidence (after explosive episodes with my retired eventer) and enjoy the sport again. Foaly has been brought on slowly and carefully with his education always been steady and Correct. He was bought from the breeder at 9months old and run on in the same home, he was carefully started as a late 3yr old and had slowly been introduced to different settings and disciplines.

Foaly hacks out confidently in company and on his own, is never strong or silly in open spaces and can easily be left days or weeks and hopped back on without an issue. He is good in traffic of all sizes on a busier road or country lanes.

He has done light schooling having 3 uphill bold straight paces along with a natural head carriage and a look at me presence. Been over poles in the school but not asked many questions of over fences.

First time foaly saw hounds he went up front, at the back of the and in the middle of the field. He stood up well at the meet and moved of patiently. Foaly as said early had not been put to a great deal of fences but out hunting he was brave and bold jumping timber hedges and dukes with and without a lead proving safe caring and surefooted. He has the footings for a fantastic event prospect.

Foaly is ready to move on with all the makings for any discipline for someone to put their own stamp on whether it be showing, hunting eventing or a general alrounder hes a very eye catching animal.

He is clean legged and blemish free. Good to do in all manners he is clipped shod, up to date with vaccinations farrier dentist. Hes had his back checked also with no issues. Hes laid back and easy to deal with with a loving cheeky character to add aswel making everyone he meets smile. A yard favourite and after been with us all that time home is also important.
