Ryder is a 6-year-old Clydesdale cross gelding with a heart as big as his personality. Currently standing between 15.3hh and 16hh (to be confirmed), he is an eye-catching, solid stamp of a horse who turns heads wherever he goes.
Originally bought for a client, sadly due to unexpected health issues (a third hip operation), she will no longer be able to ride — which is a real shame, as Ryder would have been ideal. Since then, I've continued his education and the more I do with him, the more I believe he’s capable of turning his hoof to anything — he’d even look a picture in the show ring.

Training & Temperament

Ryder was backed at 4 years old but then turned away for 18 months. I’ve given him a full restart and he’s now 12 weeks back under saddle, taking everything in his stride.
Hacking alone or in company — happy in front or behind
Has been ridden and led from
Sensible, curious and forward-thinking
Will occasionally look at things, but nothing spooky — a little encouragement and he cracks on
Beginning his schooling journey now, and showing promise
He’s a genuine people-pleaser — first to the gate, trots over to say hello, and follows you around the field like a dog. He loves attention, cuddles, scratches and, of course, treats.

 On the Ground

Excellent for the farrier — recently had his first set of shoes
Vaccinations and teeth now fully up to date
Clipped for the first time here — behaved like a seasoned pro
Generally polite, though he can be pushy around food (easily managed — a quick finger click and he steps back like a gent)

Home Requirements

Ryder is looking for a knowledgeable, loving home where he’ll continue to be slowly and sympathetically produced. He’s a big softie who thrives on human interaction and would suit someone wanting a quality allrounder with a solid foundation to build upon.
He’s great around dogs, cats, and children — has even had kids sit on him bareback with no issues. Could easily see him being someone’s best mate, family horse, or future show partner.
Homes will be vetted — finding the right match is my top priority, and I don’t want him being passed from pillar to post.
Currently priced at £8,750

Please note this will increase as his training continues.

Jess

  • Lovely private home with unlimited forestry hacking

Wanted new best friend for older lady rider who enjoys hacking out in forestry , fun rides (often accompanying small children with pony club)

Bombproof unflappable type that enjoys hacking alone and in company.

15.2/3 ish not too slight needs to take up the leg and not mind a slightly cautious rider, someone not madly forward going .

My last horse has recently retired at age 30 and all my horses want for nothing. Must enjoy a fuss and load onto a Renault side loading van.

Must be good in rural traffic, narrow lanes with mainly tractors

Stabled at home with lots of company

I don’t do much road work.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

ALFIE

Gorgeous 2019 15hh registered Highland. Alfie has been in the same home since a foal, he is a kind, friendly and sweet on the ground. Alfie has three lovely paces, he’s comfortable and steady, will ride off your voice or your aids and he’s trustworthy and easy in every way, such a safe, happy, laid back chap. Alfie has done fun rides, been to the forest, river, and has done most riding club activities, he also has a few showing classes under his belt.

Alfie will turn his hoof to any job, he’s easy. He has plenty of promise with his jumping, unbothered by coloured fillers or rustic fences, a nice pop in him and will help his pilot out, he will jump from a trot or canter off any stride and doesn’t mind if his rider is wobbly or nervous.

Alfie is fantastic in traffic and he hacks alone and in company, he’s been excellent here with the farm machinery, nothing seems to bother him. Super sane and sensible in open spaces. A nice horse for someone to go out tomorrow and have fun with. Open to any vet or trainer £10500

Pearl is a full ID 7yr mare by Tors Gentleman Farmer

She’s been really well schooled on the flat and has 3 balanced paces. She hacks alone and in company and past heavy farm traffic. She’s good the handle and do on the ground.

She does have sweetitch which is only affecting her head and neck, we have found this easy to manage with a rug. She has been hogged previously but her mane is growing back fast which we plan to leave.

She would suit someone looking for a nice alrounder/hunter, we feel this lovely mare could turn her hoof to anything with her attitude.

We have taken her SJ and XC schooling which she really enjoyed. She’s got a lovely natural jump and clearly has scope to go higher

Dotty (Dothan Natasha) is a beautiful shire mare who has a gorgeous personality to match! Loves people and attention and enjoys a good groom!

We’ve allowed her to mature slowly and has had lots of groundwork and desensitisation in readiness for the big world. She’s had a bridle and saddle on and has been walked out on roads - nothing has phased her at all! She followed and lead with no issues. She has been sat on and walked around so she’s ready to step it up now!

She’s only for sale as she’s just not getting enough attention as one of four horses. She’d love to have her person to dote on her every wish. She is very gentle and keen to please.

She currently lives out and comes in daily for a feed, fuss and a bit of work. She comes to call and brings herself in. She’s currently barefoot with good feet. Up to date with farrier, dentist and physio.

Could make wonderful brood mare. Open to any inspection.

Bandit is a 4YO Cob with an old head on young shoulders, I have owned him since he was a yearling and know his full history, he has been carefully and professionally produced and now needs to find the right home where he can reach his full potential.

He has grown up on a farm so he is not at all fazed by heavy machinery or any type of livestock including pigs!

He is schooling well on the flat and has been enjoying cross country schooling, he effortlessly pops 70/80cms and has been Autumn hunting and at all times demonstrating an easy going sensible attitude and never getting fizzy.

He is loved by everyone on the yard and loves nothing more than a good pamper!! Excellent to clip, shoe, dentist, hack alone or in company and he travels both in a trailer or lorry. No vices.

Bandit is forward going and a very fun ride, he enjoys his work and is often hacked by an 11 year old and always looks after her. I feel he would be best suited to a competent young teen or mother/daughter share who wants to do pony club or hunt as I feel he would thrive from a varied workload, he is the ultimate Allrounder.

Despite the fact I would describe him as bombproof I would not say he is suitable for a complete novice as he is only young himself and needs someone that is knowledgeable enough to continue his education.

Ideal Mother/daughter/son share. No dealers and homes will be vetted, only the best home for this much loved boy.

Lots of recent videos on request; excellent trial facilities.

  • Approx 16.1hh, 5yo, Black gelding with all the bling!

Gunner is a quality maxi cob type with three balanced paces and a super, willing attitude to life. He has been brought on slowly and correctly, giving him a solid and sensible foundation.

He has seen and done a bit of everything out hacking - he is absolutely brilliant to hack alone and is equally as great in company and will go anywhere you put him, front or back. He is totally unfazed by traffic, farm machinery, or open spaces/beaches with a lot going on and rogue kids/dogs and paddle boards everywhere. He is not silly or spooky and is just a pleasure to ride out and you feel incredibly safe on him. He can also be left by others in a group and will still walk along on the buckle whilst they head off in the distance. He will also stand patiently for a long time when out and about. He would actually make a very good police horse.

On the flat, Gunner has 3 nice paces and smooth transitions, he is still a bit green purely due to his age and size but he is very trainable and rideable. He’s been out and done intro dressage comps and has won. He’s now ready to step up to the next level.
He shows a bold, genuine jump and would make a fabulous hunter. He also has the scope and temperament for grassroots BE, riding club, pleasure rides, clinics… the list goes on! With his substance and presence, he would easily suit a gentleman rider.

Gunner is the sweetest boy and has the kindest temperament, he thrives off human attention and is basically an overgrown Labrador!
He lives in or out and is very good to catch (comes to call) bath, groom & tack up.

He’s good with the vet and up to date with teeth and vaccinations.

Good with the farrier and is currently fully shod due to hacking being road/very stony tracks, there’s no reason he couldn’t go barefoot if the hacking is good ground.

A truly versatile, eye-catching horse who will turn heads wherever he goes.

Open to vetting (sailed through a 5 stage earlier this year).

14.3hh 9yrs old WPB Black gelding. Charlie is a very smart horse, he has 3 balanced flashy paces and works into a contact. Competed at pony club, dressage, XC and SJ events.

Charlie has a lovely jump happily popping course of 80 with scope for higher. Has done unaffiliated dressage with ability to progress.Hacks alone and in company. Good to clip/ shoe/ box/ catch.

Charlie has been our much-loved happy hacker and leisure horse. He’s mostly been used at pony club, hacking and schooling by our teenage daughter, but unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances our daughter is no longer able to give him what he needs.

He’s a fun, forward-going ride with that classic Welsh spark. He’s never nasty, but he does have that cheeky, intelligent Welsh nature, so he’s best suited to a confident and experienced rider who can enjoy and channel his personality.

In the right hands, he’ll make someone an absolutely brilliant partner and go a long way – whether it’s for hacking, fun rides, or even bringing on further if you want to do more.

5* home only where he’ll be loved as much as he is here.

Up to date with dentist and vaccinations.

  • Would be a machine out hunting

Bonnie is a type increasingly hard to find, she’s a solid MW and a square leg at each corner sort but is still quality.

Bonnie is a real treasure. She is now working sweetly on the flat and starting to get the idea of working on the bridle, she is straightforwards to ride and happy to just continue if her rider has a wobble. She stays in a good rhythm and really tries to please, she is obviously still green but shows a lot of promise in her work and is naturally balanced. Bonnie is definitely a jumper!

She has got a great technique, and gets better with every session. She is just awesome, she’s very brave, careful and straightforward. She has had her first taste of XC with us and was great fun and very brave with a lot more to come from her! She will go on and do a bit of everything very well and be a top class all rounder.

I could see her going and being a lot of fun grassroots eventing, SJ (you wouldn’t know how much scope she’s got so who knows how far she will go!) she would be a machine out hunting (has now been on hound exercise with us and very well behaved), love fun rides or equally she’s kind and simple and loves

Her attitude to work is just the best, she is the definition of a trier. In addition to being such a total sweetheart under saddle she’s very kind to handle, good to catch, clip, box, good with farrier and just a ice easy person to have on the yard.

She is happy to live in, out and not mareish and friends with everyone.

I adore her and can’t wait to see what she becomes.

Video does no justice as she's come on a lot since it was taken.

Will hack out in the heaviest of traffic and not phased also good with farm machinery. Got a lovely kind nature and easy to handle both on the ground and when ridden. Will walk trot canter in the school. Good with other horses can be turned out with mares or geldings he’s a true to type bfg!

He’s a great family horse we have had the young children sit on him to adults. Been ridden by all different ability riders.

Always snaffle mouthed. Still slightly green with his schooling but only due to him been used mainly for hacking but there is no harm in him what so ever!

A really proper cob, with the sweetest nature

Mia will stand all day to be fussed and groomed

She’s lovely to handle and deal with, quiet on the stable and good to catch. Really takes the leg up too.

Mia would suit a family home, riding school or would come on and do a pony club/riding club home

Hacks alone and in company, snaffle mouth, no strong, not sharp and rides off the leg nicely

open to vetting, transport can be arranged

Cwmgwyrdd golden lady - OPEN TO SENSIBLE OFFERS

A lovely dun yearling filly, she was a early foal being born January 2024 to make between 14hh and 14.2hh

Out of faidre lady may, a direct daughter of cascob jack flash
By hillgarth maxxy's ghost, a direct son of hwylog ivanhoe

This filly has been out all summer and rubbed some of her mane. I have a feeling she has sweetitch (NOT CONFIRMED BY VET), she has been stabled for that last month with daily turned out and she has stopped rubbing, if sweetitch this would be manageable with daily care.

Has the potential to be a top class SHP. A really easy yearling to do everything with.

I don't know what she would be like to box as was born with me. Only forsale as reducing number, please feel free to contact at any time. If no answer please send a message

Wanted new Hacking partner

Ref #: 384773
  • Lovely private home with unlimited forestry hacking

Total gentleman in all ways. Pleasure to ride and handle. Really can’t speak highly enough of Jasper.

Stands to mount. All basics established in school. Happy to lead nervous horses hacking. Or happy to slot in behind, he has never been competitive with another horse. Schools in open spaces as well as the arena.

All traffic: bikes, bus, lorry, tractors, not a problem to Jasper. Has a really relaxed outlook on life.

Jumping a small course now. Been to local cross country course, jumped all obstacles without turning a hair. Not flustered in a new environment. Will now aim for first unaffiliated dressage competition.

First to be caught every morning.

Great feet. Farriers dream! Loads ans travels in trailer.

Open to vet. No vices.

Best home sort.
Please call and text as coverage patchy.

Outstanding coloured gelding that is safe !!!

Super cob Joey is a very hard sort to find he is the full package. He is 15.1hh and a true all rounder beautifully put together .

Super safe and fantastic in the heaviest of traffic . Videos available of him hacking up the main road in rush hour and not fazed but the biggest of Lorrie’s . He is 4 years old but with a very old head on his shoulders .

Joey has been out and about all summer pony club , local clinics , farm rides and happy to pop around 70/80cm courses here at home with a super attitude to his work . He flys out cross country but being safe and sensible at the same time recently been on long simulated hunt rides with lots of children and ponies and behaved perfectly. He would make a super hunter for this season

He is just the perfect gent ! He has perfect stable manners, great to clip we keep his legs clipped and we can sit on the floor and clip him without him moving , bath, shoe he is shod all round and has great feet . He loves to be groomed the children have been all over him . He even lets them climb on him when lay down in his box . He loads on lorry or trailer and walks straight on without any issues

There is not enough words to do this little horse justice he is adored by everyone that meets him .

He works well on the flat for his age and his suppleness and contact is coming on well . Joey is the perfect mother daughter share or for someone wanting to go and have uncomplicated fun .

Due to his age I would not say he is suitable for a complete novice even tho he never puts a foot wrong.

He is open to any vet or trainer he has passed a 5 star vetting and ready for a summer of fun. Lot of photos and videos on request .
