Meet Robby – The Ultimate Schoolmaster & Confidence Giver

Robby is a lovely 17-year-young, 16.2hh Maxi Cob gelding looking for a kind and knowledgeable home where he can enjoy happy hacking, hunting and fun days out.

A genuine schoolmaster and nanny horse, Robby has taught countless riders over the years. He is a real confidence giver and an easy, enjoyable ride. Anyone can hack him out and he has safely introduced many people to riding and hunting. He loves beach rides, pub rides, and a day out with the hounds, and has given many riders their first enjoyable days hunting.

He does require a little management once a year to keep him comfortable. X-rays have shown slight navicular changes in his near fore. His coffin joint has been injected and he wears pads in front. He is currently sound, happy and still enjoying his job, with no reason he couldn’t do a few more seasons.

Please note: Robby will not pass a full vetting, so please don’t enquire if this is essential. However, he passes the veterinary inspection every year for my riding school licence and continues to work happily.

Malcom is a super sweet natured and easy to have around.

On the flat he is responsive to your leg and has nice forward paces but is still very much more kick than pull.

He happily pops around a small course of fences including fillers. He’s never spooky. He’s a real confidence giving type.

To hack Malcom will go up the main road alone and in company, in front or behind. He’s not bothered by lorries or fast cars. He’s passed building sites with moving machinery not battering an eyelid.

For the past 3 years Malcom has been with a young girl in a pony club home. He’s been to unaffiliated shows and regularly placed. Sad sale due to school commitments and outgrown.

He’s an absolute saint for the farrier, easy to clip, load, travel, catch etc

Malcom would make someone very happy and will them with confidence.

He would make a great addition to someone’s riding school, RDA, low level all rounder or happy hacker.

Bunny is a very kind, steady and intelligent mare with a genuine, sensible temperament. She has been professionally broken to both ride and drive and is a pleasure to handle in all respects. She has not been in regular work recently due to lack of time and would benefit from a gradual return to work.

She lives on a working farm and is accustomed to heavy machinery, farm activity and being turned out alongside a busy road. She has excellent manners on the ground, is easy to catch, handle and groom, and is perfect for the vet and farrier (currently barefoot).

Bunny has clean limbs, correct conformation and lovely paces. She would suit a variety of roles including ridden work, harness work or as a quality broodmare.

Up to date with worming, vaccinations and teeth. Happy to live out or stable and mixes well with other horses.

Bunny is bonded with Boris (also advertised) and ideally we would like them to remain together, as they are very well matched in temperament and companionship. A combined price of £11,000 would be considered for the pair.

This decision has not been taken lightly - Bunny has been in the same home for over eight years and is a much-valued member of the farm.

Best suited to an experienced home familiar with heavy horses and with appropriate facilities and grazing. Homes will be carefully considered.

Skye really is the most affectionate filly she's the type to follow you around and fall asleep while grooming.

I feel she would break in easily as she's beyond adorable to do anything with.

Definitely a ladies event horse in the making, but equally would go on to show or just dressage alone.

We put a fence up and she came straight to it so she shows promise to make a fabulous horse for someone to play with this summer.

Fred is a lovely laid back chap, looking for his new hacking home.
He is a lovely stamp of a horse, a leg in each corner. The type you sit on and never want to get off. He loves to stop and have a chat. He can have a month off and then you can get back on like he was ridden yesterday, easily picked up and put down when life gets busy, or the weather is horrid !

Fred would suit a novice rider, looking for the quieter life, He is a cob so can have his little stubborn moments, when he feels he wants a tea break, so does needs someone with legs that is happy to give him a kick occasionally, and the odd encouragement with a crop. He does like to snack on a hack if he thinks he can get away with it. So be ready to pull those reins so he doesnt get the green stuff! Once he realises he cant, he stops trying.

Fred is good in the heaviest traffic out hacking, never bothered by any other horse’s behaviour, great in open spaces,
Once settled he will hack solo. He is also happy with one other or a whole group! He will go infront , but will also very happily go behind.

Fred will happily live in or out, with mares or geldings,
He is a big soppy boy on the ground. Easy to handle, good to clip all over body and around head, although he has ticklish legs so does need low vibration clippers or a touch of tube sedation,

Fred is up to date with vaccinations. farrier, dentist and physio.

He does prefer to see company when stabled and in the field, so he wouldn’t suit a solo yard. He gets a little anxious if left alone.
Fred loves to hack and this is where his heart really lies, he loves going on a wander and would be great on pleasure rides. He will pop over a small log (50cm) he will go in the arena on the odd occasion and go over the odd pole and small jump.

Fred is an ex riding school horse, so very chilled with different riders. He is more whoa than go, but will happily go with the right persuasion.
