Full Irish Draught Standing at approx 16.2 hh, 5 years. Breeding - by Devils Punchbowl (Crannagh Hero) out of a Westmeathe Lad Dam.

Red has been professionally backed and bought on slowly, trained using natural horsemanship methods. Time and care has been taken to give him the best possible start in his ridden life.

Red now needs a kind experienced person to take him out and see the world - not a nervous nelly like me! He is being sold from the field so please don’t expect to come and try riding him. His new person Must have experience with large, green horses.

- Groundwork: Red has done lots of natural horsemanship groundwork, flag training and been walked out in hand both alone and in company. He has started some in hand lateral work. He has been introduced to traffic.

- Ridden: Red can walk, trot and canter in the arena and is calm doing this also in an open grass field. He has done plenty of pole work including some raised poles. He has started some lateral work under saddle.

- Isn’t the type that needs riding every day. You can very much pick up and put him down. He is snaffle mouthed at all times. He is so easy to tack up it is like tacking up grandmas horse!

- Lives in or out. Hardy Irish type and goes out happily in all weathers.

- Barefoot, good Irish feet. Up to date with vaccinations and dentist. No health issues. Had two minor sarcoids removed 18 months ago and no return.

- Contact me for extensive video and a chat. May consider LWVTB for the right person.

Meet ‘Lucky’ - the charmer of the yard! Full of love , character , and mischief!! A big , athletic model of a horse standing at 17.1hh , 7yo. Retired from racing sound , vice , and injury free

Lucky is a lovely horse to have around. So low maintenance and easy to own , you don’t hear a peep from him. Easy to love and pamper , clip, bath, shoe etc - a super chap through and through!!

Luck is very well schooled on the flat. Makes a lovely shape , classy mover and straightforward to ride. Snaffle mouthed , forward and keen but not strong. Has previously done some low level dressage successfully

Loves his jumping , very brave , again is keen and committed but not strong. Not phased by fillers etc. Has taken part in unaffiliated show jumping and shown ti be very mannerly and sensible at shows. Has also attended clinics, riding club etc !

Hacks out like a dream. Probably one of my most reliable on the yard. Hacking along our 60mph main road daily , alone or in company and is always a total saint

Lucky was purchased earlier this year by my client as a first horse for her daughter. Unfortunately, he had proved to have too much engine for her and therefore they have sadly made the very difficult decision to let him go. Lucky is a cheeky chap and I think if he thinks you may let him take the mick then he is inclined to take that opportunity. (I’ve only seen this side to him when fresh and in the school only). However, lucky rides like a schoolmaster when I ride him so it’s pure cheek!! He just simply wants a rider and not a passenger. Understandable at his age , he wants to have some fun!!

A very smart and capable horse who comes with his tack. To include a beautiful fitted Kent and masters saddle in immaculate condition!

  • Kind and willing

Quality youngster who is a really lovely willing girl who only ever wants to please. To make an outstanding top end PC/ RC competition horse, enough scope to go BE/ BS, good enough paces / natural way of going for BD, well marked and a good enough mover for some showing, and just an all round good egg! She will go and turn heads and win hearts in whatever she does!

Lorri was homebred by a friend in Ireland, this girl has had the best start and been slowly and correctly produced with a long term future in mind, she will make a super competition type but is not sharp or sensitive and is forgiving girl and therefore suitable for someone to have as a first youngster to home produce, kid coming off ponies etc. Lorri isn’t at all mareish and super easy to do everything with.

Lorri is a beautiful model, very well marked and pretty. She has the temperament and brain to match this so is a real type hard to find. She is working exceptionally well on the flat for her age, she has a lovely mouth, 3 very expressive but balanced paces with the nicest canter. She is very willing and trainable and will do the most beautiful test with a little more fine tuning. She isn’t a sensitive or silly type and very rideable, always willing to please and absorbs everything asked of her and is a delight to ride each day. To jump Lorri is brave and scopey. She is jumping round a full course of show jumps including fillers and water tray at 80 cm and looks at nothing. She has attended a couple of training shows with us and jumped straight round. She had been taking part in group clinics with us and is always well behaved and much admired. She has loads of scope to go on and is naturally careful and clever to jump. She has been XC schooling and jumps ditches, water, drops etc with no bother, her brain is very willing and she loves to have a job to do. She would suit most riders and be the most wonderful first young horse for someone to produce.

Lorri also loves her hacking and is good both alone and in company, she’s met quite a bit of traffic and hasn’t been bothered by any of it. She’s got a lovely sensible attitude to life without being dull and will make someone the nicest little horse. Everyone here loves her!

Lorri is good to catch, box, shoe, clip etc. just the nicest little horse who will get snapped up!

A jack of all trades in the making …
The looks , the temperament , and the ability
Meet ‘Ted’ - a compact and well put together 16.1hh , 6yo, ISH gelding

Ted has no lumps or bumps , no vices or health issues whatsoever
A very slight pigeon toe in front if you wanted to be critical - passed a two stage vetting with this and is of no clinical significance

A true gentleman to have around , you don’t know you have him! Slots into any routine and is an extremely laid back , happy go lucky chap!
Will turn out individually or in a mixed herd, happy to live in or out and always first to the gate to be caught.

Loads and travels like a saint on a trailer or a lorry

The perfect client for the farrier , super to clip, bath, groom tack up, plait etc

Ted is a real mover on the flat! Would go out tomorrow and do a beautiful little dressage test! Always snaffle mouth , works in a very natural outline and is self sufficient throughout the paces while always being beautiful to watch

I’d challenge anyone to find me a little horse who’s braver than this chap when it comes to popping a fence ! Never looks at any fillers , and height etc
He is uber careful and extremely reliable. He will always jump you out of trouble , never offended by a miss and more helpful than most ten year olds !! I don’t think he’s going to be a world beater but would go and take you around the meter tomorrow and not touch a pole. Has attended a handful of unaffiliated shows and was his usual consistent , reliable , and mannerly self.

Has hunted in Ireland and here is the UK with myself. Stood statue still at a very busy meet. Was bold and brave , jumped everything that was asked of him and remained totally sane , and textbook but a whole lot of fun! Opened all the gates , let me clamber back on and away to go. This is the best horse I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking on the hunt field. Snaffle mouthed , just impeccable mannerisms and took me over fences with me doing no piloting , just shutting my eyes and steering! What a champ!

Ted would be a super seasoned hunter , family horse , top level allrounder etc. As straightforward as he is , he is still young and can be a little green going up to the canter transition on occasion. Nothing at all nasty etc, just a baby! Although I think he’d take a novice , I feel he is suited to someone who wants a smart young horse to bring on and show the world but likes to know they are safe. He is 100% vice free and a lovely young horse.

Ted loves to hack out! Alone or in company , very easy and straightforward. Extreme bold in all traffic. Can be seen along the 60mph road outside our yard. As well as on the road , he’s the all round perfect gentleman on open spaces. Pops logs etc , stands at the mountain block … he really is an older head on young shoulders with a very bright future ahead of him

Stunning 2017 15.2hh grey Irish sports horse (green book recorded breeding) mare. This lovely girl has beautiful paces and a light, soft snaffle mouth. She feels bigger than she is, with a deep body and long neck. She has done plenty of hunting, riding club activities and showjumping.

Lola has done lots of dressage, she has lovely paces and a great movement. Lola has a great technique over a fence, she’s bold and scopey with fillers and coloured fences, she will jump off any stride and makes light work of it, she would suit a teenager coming off ponies as she’s happy to help you out. Lola is a bold XC as she is SJ.

She’s brilliant to hack whe on her own or with others, doesn’t care about surroundings / heavy traffic and doesn’t change in an open space, her little rocking horse canter remains the same everywhere! She’s a kind girl to handle / have around and keep.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

She’s looking for a more varied life now but still capable of competing low level.

She’s pops round courses of 80/90cm and thoroughly enjoys it, jumping fillers and water trays.

She hacks alone or in company.

Happy to live in or out, turns out in the field with anything.

Ruby is a sweet natured mare. Rising 5.

Great to clip, shoe, catch, always happy and inside.

She has been on busy RC rides, to include river crossings, lots of work in hand, schooled and forward going.

She has just grown to big for me, 17hh and I’m 5’4!, I need a stool to tack her up.

Has a few sarcoids (hence price). If she was smaller I’d defo be keeping her.

Lina is a stunning, talented young mare with all the makings of an exceptional allrounder. She has competed successfully up to 1m in show jumping, is well-schooled in the arena, and has also been evented up to 90cm, showing bravery and willingness across all phases.

She has three balanced, uphill paces and a natural, careful jump, combined with a sensible, trainable temperament that makes her suitable for a range of riders. Lina has the technique, scope, and attitude to excel both in all disciplines.

Offered as a semi project on behalf of owner.

Lotus Biscoff is a 16h 9 year old, dun fully regisistered ISH mare with super breeding by the famous Tullyabeg Fusion who is a top eventing staliion. Shes a gorgeous girl whgo catches the eye where ever she goes with her golden colour. She is a lovely quality stamp with a nice depth of girth a nd substance to her body. She has good conformation, clean limbs, is blemish free and straight moving. Shes a very friendly girl who likes people however she is a sensitive soul under saddle and likes to form a one to one bond with her rider.

Lotus has three super smart paces and works nicely on the flat. She has real potential to excel at dressage with the right rider as she has a brilliant hind leg action. She is a forward going sensitive ride who likes to get to know her rider. She is sensitive to the leg and likes a very small leg aid, she also likes a balanced rider who has some feel. She definitely needs a confident experienced rider who can ride quietly and who is used to riding more sensitive horses. A wobbly nervous rider would worry her and course her to shoot forwards. When she knows and trusts her rider she gives you an amazing feel. She is currently ridden in a snaffle with a nice soft mouth. She is very good to mount- stands nicely at the block. She is also not at all spooky. She doesn’t buck or rear, if worried she will scoot forwards and for this reason needs a rider who knows what they are doing. I have been riding her for a couple of months now on behalf of her owner and I really enjoy riding her. So for the right rider she will be very rewarding to work with and go far. She has done some unaffiliated dressage with a previous owner who found her to be a good forward going ride.

She has jumped in a past home and showed scope and talent over a fence. She wasn’t at all spooky at fillers ect, she was very bold and forward going. She hasn’t done any jumping for a couple of years due to her owners choices. I also haven’t jumped her as I have taken her back a step to work on the basics of flatwork. She definitely has the breeding and the potential to show jump and event but is not ready to go straight out and do this as she will need to form a bond with her rider on the flat first in my opinion. I have a video of her jumping a full course for anyone who is interested to see.

Lotus is good to hack both alone and in company. She is very good in traffic including lorries and motor bikes. She is more relaxed out hacking than what she is in the school. She is nicely forward going and will literally pass anything. She has been used to give less experienced horses a lead past scary objects. She went straight past a scary fire in a calm manner. She has been on pleasure rides which she loves and is so much fun. She would be very well suited to someone wanting to do lots if hacking and perhaps le trec and endurance too as she would go all day.

Lotus has a kind friendly temperament. She loves people and will make someone an amazing best friend. She is a good to handle in all ways. She is good to shoe, clip and load. She lives in and out and is happily turns out with mares and geldings. She is very quiet in the field and gets on well with all horses and ponies. She currently turns out over night (weather permitting) on her own next to other horses and comes in during the day. She is very sound and healthy.

She will make someone a dream horse and form such a strong bond with her person. Finding the right person is very important to us. Strictly no nervous or novices riders. She is only offered for sale as she is too much for her current owner who is more of a happy hacker leisure rider. It’s a sad sale as her owner loves her on the ground and also enjoys hacking her but Lotus can shoot off with her in the school which has knocked both of their confidence. Lotus is doing well again in the school with me and is now ready to find her forever person as she really deserves this. Would also suit a natural horsemanship approach with lots of ground work. Priced at £7,950 to reflect that she is a semi project. She would be double this price if she was anyone’s ride. She would be ideal for an experienced rider who has the time to put into her but not a 5 figure budget to buy a horse of her calibre in a special colour. Based near Huntingdon Cambridgeshire.

Lovely, kind mare. ID x Connie, rising 5.

I bought Donna Feb 2025 completely untouched and have brought her on slowly and professionally since then. She has been to arena hire outings, xc schooling and attended an endurance ride. She has absolutely not been rushed but has done a little of everything you would expect for her age.

Super to hack, goes alone or in company and leads off another horse. Happily goes first or last.

She is not the sort that needs riding everyday and has a sensible and sane attitude to her work. She is a true allrounder type and I believe she would also make a fantastic hunt horse.

She rides very nicely on the flat, has a soft mouth and is never strong, always in a snaffle. She really enjoys jumping and is proving to be careful. She has jumped round a course of coloured fences and seen small xc jumps.

She will live in or out and turns out with mares or geldings. She was very good to clip.

Donna is a really intelligent mare who is a very quick learner and always tries her best. I have a real soft spot for her, five star experienced home sought. Please call for more information.

The lovely Tally is looking for her new home after a very short and unsuccessful racing career.

Tally is very easy to do in all ways and is a lovely horse to have around. She has a lovely and kind temperament and loves a bit of attention.

Finished racing sound and healthy. She’s had some downtime and is now ready to get cracking with a job. She's a straightforward ride, has good paces and will make a nice all-rounder. She’s just come in from the field and had a little walk and trot under saddle, and she was quite happy. Tally hasn’t done any schooling, show jumping or XC - she is very much a project.

Injury and vice-free. She does have a small sarcoid on the inside of her offside hind.

Good to load and travel, good with the farrier and vet.

Looking for an experienced home that will give her lots of time and love. She wouldn’t suit a novice due to being a young ex-racehorse. Has been led out from another horse recently to start coming back into work. Available from the field due to not being in full work. Please, no timewasters.
