Top Class Large Riding Horse. Potential BD/Grassroots BE.
COLORADO IV is a top class Large Riding Horse by the prestigious TB stallion Aveia. His Dam Sire is the great Sport Horse stallion Abraham.
He is a beautiful stamp of a horse. He has quality, substance, presence, good bone and great conformation. He is handsome, eye catching and obedient. A really elegant and classy horse. He has been so successful in the show ring to date but could equally be produced further for eventing or dressage.
Colorado has been a prolific winner at County level as a foal, yearling and 2yr old (until Covid stopped play).
As a 4yr old we concentrated on breaking and he had a good all round education including schooling, hacking and clinics. Having been shown since a foal he is used to the atmosphere of big shows and is always perfectly behaved.
2023 was his first year shown under saddle and again he achieved multiple wins at County Level.
Qualified LIHS & RIHS (2024) at first attempt.
Competed at LIHS Dec 2023 placing 7th out of 23 (being the youngest horse there).
Colorado has real potential to go right to the top. Current owner is a pure amateur and feels there is so much more untapped potential.
He would also make a top class RC/BD/BE horse as he is so smart, talented and genuine.
Colorado has also competed in dressage up to Novice with many wins. He is always impeccably well behaved. Judges love him. He is nicely schooled and works in a lovely soft outline. He is responsive but not sharp or strong. He is a good mover with a fabulous ground covering canter.
He has started jumping small coloured fences and is showing great potential, making a lovely shape over a fence. He has been to an arena eventing hire to jump xc style fences and proved to be bold and scopey. We feel he would make a serious grassroots contender for someone willing to continue his education in this area. He is a beautiful young sport horse and therefore not suited to a total novice but would suit a competent amateur or a professional.
He loves to hack and is excellent in traffic, farm machinery etc. Hacks alone and in company. Good on the beach and goes in the sea.
Excellent stable manners, kind temperament. Easy to do.
Good with other horses, can ride and lead. Easy to shoe, clip, catch, bath, plait. Travels in a lorry and trailer and will stand quietly at shows.
He does windsuck at feed time in the stable. Its not something that affects his performance. He doesnt do it in the field or trailer, however it is reflected in the price.
Heartbreaking sale of this much loved horse due to divorce. 5* loving home sought.
Price reduced to £15000. No offers.
Currently on sales livery with Holly Bradshaw Eventing (Worcestershire).
